I actually said 'oh my god' when I bit into the lemon meringue cronut. It was absolutely divine. Some cronuts are dry and crunchy, this had the right amount of flaky crust and juicy insides. We will definitely be back.

I can't believe that I've never been to this food paradise on O'Connell street until last week. I missed out on so much:( Just looking at the pastries and buns displayed made me so satisfied and was drooling the entire time. She said "yes it is.. just have different colour from different batch.." We bought 2 double choc muffin, 1 muffin so dark colour with lots of choc chips, another one really light colour with few choc chips. Clearly can see this is 2 different muffin. Taste also different, one u can tell its a choc flavour 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️ So far OK experience just like you expected from ordinary bakery. Could be 4 or 5 star if the service more friendly, the food OK 👍

Can't fault this place honestly. Been here many times and every time it's been a great experience. Reasonable prices, delicious food, generous serving sizes and friendly service. Everything from the pies to the doughnuts and wraps are amazing and the best part is it's open 24 hours!

I needed some platters for a funeral at last minute due to another business not coming through. I called Bakery on O’Connell at 5.30pm on the Tuesday and collected the platters Wednesday morning. They were well presented, delicious, and reasonably priced. I am not sure who I spoke to on the phone but she was extremely helpful and I just wanted to say a massive thank you. Her attitude and willingness to assist helped bring us joy on such a sad day!

Saturday afternoon and customers including this one, all enjoyed pleasant service from the staff. All display cases, refrigerated and heated, were full of Yumalicious goodies. I bought a Belgian Chocolate block cake. The photos show... 4 hours after buying it, and sharing it with friends over a cuppa, is what's left. I doubt it will last until Sunday night. Highly recommend this shop, it is open 27/7 also. Seating inside and outside. Great for catching up with buddies, or work colleagues.

yes! South Australians have an absolute fascination with baked goods and his bakery epitomises this with savoury and sweet delights that you'll love! It's odd to say but their custard is smooth and sweet, cream is fresh and pastry crunch which is a huge improvement on other bakeries. Sooooo yummy!! I love how there are so many options for savoury and sweet. The Nutella heart was so cute and so yummy. Not too much Nutella in it so you can still taste the soft doughnut bread. The Nutella balls are perfect if you're craving a strong Nutella hit. The spinach square was absolutely delicious and the potato pie was huge!! Just so many foods, can't wait to go back and try some other things.

Coffee prepared perfectly, this time I had a lemon tart which was not as delicious as other ones I've had (Swedish Tarts or Bourke St. Bakery in Sydney for example). I've been here about half a dozen times now. While the 24hr opening times are indeed convenient, the quality of what you get feels over-rated. I've only tried the sweet items, but have definitely had better-tasting stuff elsewhere around in Adelaide for less $$, and also minus the long queues. Difficult parking, plus I've found the service to be abrupt & unfriendly as someone who isn't young/trendy local/caucasian. Feels almost like I'm trespassing here - non of that welcoming feel you get from a good bakery/cafe.

There's only three things certain in life - Death - Taxes - Bakery on O'Connell being packed to the rafters! The concept of a 24 hour bakery I find very interesting as a Melbournian, this is a unique concept to Adelaide - this is absolutely fantastic, I don't think we have this back home. The vibe here is insane (in a great way), it doesn't matter what time you wonder past at night or early hours of the morning, everywhere else on O'Connell Street will be closed except for here with chirpy bakery going night owls inside and out! The staff are super friendly even though they're under so much pressure with how popular this place is, imagine the chaos of a Wall Street trading house and you have a fair idea of what it's like for the ladies and gents keeping food and beverages up to the night owls! Buy! Buy! Buy! Buy! Buy!!! If we had an olympic team for hospitality staff, these people are our team representing Australia - they'd be coming back with only gold medals no doubts about it. Every time I find myself travelling to Adelaide, a pie floater is ALWAYS on the cards here at Bakery on O'Connell, they introduced me to this uniquely South Australian concept and they have won my affection for this culinary delight. The coffee is great too and they have an absolutely huge range of all types of baked goodies. Keep up the great work!

Overall worth the cheeky 11:30pm visit. The golden gaytime cronolli is amazing! Although the Belgian hot chocolate still had cocoa/chocolate powder chunks in it, the custard tart was bland and the carrot cake was more walnut than carrot (it also came wrapped up in rather small slices).

We love this bakery! We order family meat pies regularly for an easy dinner at home and tonight we tried something different, and we were not disappointed. We tried a vegan pumpkin lentil pie and it was delicious! They make an awesome lentil pie everyday of the week which is also a favourite. Great place for some tasty comfort food! The donuts are also delish! Never leave without getting a few O'Connell creams or a big chocolate donut to share.

The biggest problem with this place is there is rarely a place to sit down. The outside area usually has 10 or 12 young people 18-24 years old who take the chairs from other tables and put them on one table that they use to have their catch up. Two or three of these kids may have bought somethings from the bakery the rest are just there to use the sitting area as a park. Paying customers like ourselves then have empty tables but no chairs to sit on and eat or drink our purchases.

My favourite bakery in Adelaide a must when visiting. Highly recommend a pie float and honey log. Large selection of baked goods and are open 24 hrs. Pie floats are made with a pie of your choice, and have a selection of vegan and vegeterian pies, and can be served with tomato sauce and vinegar. To full this visit but they currently have cronut cones (with nutella) and soft serve....something to look forward to on my next visit.

Really pleasing to visit an appropriately staffed bakery on a public holiday. The young Woman that served me is very good at her job, considering the obvious demand on her and her Colleagues. The Sunday vegetable pie was very tasty and I would recommend trying it. Although I didn’t order it, I did think that a side serve of mushy Peas at $7 was extortionate. Such a great Cafe. I have been going to this cafe for about 10 years. The staff have always been consistently friendly and always make you feel welcome. The best bakery in Adelaide without a doubt. The fact that it is open 24 hours just adds to its awesomeness. A brilliant selection of sweet and savoury baked goods to satisfy every taste. I love their chicken pies, their donuts, their coffee, everything really. I am a real sucker for their Nutella bombs too. Mini buns chockers full of gooey hazelnut and chocolate goodness is unbeatable. These donut flavoured buns also come filled with jam or salted caramel. Yep. It doesn't get much better than that! Banana Thickshake. American consumer here. I am a huge banana flavour fan and i have to say having tried placed such as wendys, nordburger and a few random places like bennys ihave no come across a better banana milk or thickshake than oconnell bakery's. I have gone back several times for it. It has the least syrup taste, has quite alot of good banana ice cream taste and has beeny favorite since coming to Adelaide back in September. Highly recommend.

They provide catering, they accommodate a variety of dietary considerations in their repertoire which includes Vegans and Coeliacs, and they sell the most iconic of South " Australian fare: the pie floater! I have never made a purchase from this bakery that has left me disappointed, and at this point in time I have eaten my way through almost their entire normal range of products. I highly recommend their home made soups in winter, too!

My wife & I are regulars at this great bakery, we drive 15km to eat here. Never had a bad meal yet but was taken aback by their 10% public holiday surcharge on the Queens Birthday Monday. Why does this type of surcharge only exist in the food industry? If a book store in Norwood or clothes shop at Glenelg open on the same day their goods don't suddenly go up 10%. Thought the management of this great store was better than this considering its location on a major tourist strip.

Hipstersville Seems to be teenagers choice of late night hang out. The place is slightly up market, typical of the area. They mostly sell pies, parties, donuts and cakes. There was a tiny choice of cold wraps. Their pies are nicer then cafe villes but have much less choice food wise. Especially if you don't eat pork or want gluten free. Pricewise they are a tiny bit better then service stations. But at 2am you can't complain
