Comments of Agnes Bakery

The potato Danish and fig tart was really nice. Flavours were well balanced, not overly sweet and well balanced. I recommend coming early to avoid the long line. I recommend Agnes to have more signs for each item they sell. It's a bit hard to know what to order just looking at the menu at the counter. This would reduce the waiting time when ordering.

The pastries look great and tasted fine. I enjoyed the sweet caramelised coating of the custard almond kouign amann. We came during lunch on a Thursday and a lot had already sold out but still a decent selection of pastries. Service was quick and fast.

Wow!
Blown away with quality of good offered her and the service matches the pastries of offer. If you are in or around this establishment don’t think twice and go!
If and when I ever go back to Brisbane I’ll be sure to make a detour to this cracker place.

I've been here twice. I give 4 stars because a point was removed from personal preference dissatisfaction. The baked cheesecake was delicious (pictured in photo), yet the Danish was slightly dissapointing. The pastry was perfect, yet the filling was more of a cream than a custard which I did not enjoy.

Well have been wondering what is all about this queue everyday front of the shop. Today I understood that it was well worth to wait to get some goodies. 🤩 we ordered zucchini stracchino, chocolate milk+caramel+sesame chox and basque cheesecake. They are all yummy in their different essence . Well done 👍

Bought the most delicious array of pastries :-) Service was fantastic and everything was really yum.
Highly recommend the passion fruit/marshmallow and bacon kouign amann as well as the fig/honey choux. Some of the pastries are quite heavy so might be a good idea to share :-)
And no long 2 hour queue this time :D Will be back!!

Whenever I came to here, there were a long queue. Finally today I can visit at there! I waited just 5min to enter. I ordered basque cheesecake, chocolate chou and zucchini danish. All of them are tasty😍 I really enjoyed❤️❤️❤️❤️ I’ll definitely come again!!

Got in pretty late on a Saturday afternoon so there weren't that many options left. I ordered the burnt Basque cheesecake, the impossible cake and a white chocolate mousse donut. I could eat the burnt Basque cheesecake on a daily on basis for the rest of my life and be grateful. The donut and cake weren't as good in comparison and fairly average though.

Pastries were good and priced well for the quality. There is a long queue in the morning and they sell out fast, so expect to wait a little but it’s worth it.
Reason why I am scoring 4 is because the coffee was pretty bad but then again, this place doesn’t boast their coffee, rather their pastries and doughnuts.

Lots of great options. Not a fan of how the pastries are on display right where everyone is crowding to stand in line without any glass or protective barrier especially during covid. There are pastries down almost as low as your feet. There needs to be more visible menus on the windows
I ordered a few things and they put the savoury foods in the same box as the sweet foods so my carrot cake icing ended up all over my egg/bacon slice. Wish they would have separated them.
Other than that the food was quite yummy and the customer service was great.

Best bakery in Brisbane! Savoury and sweet pastries are sensational! Must visit if you haven’t tried!
S. S.
Goes without saying that the produce is sensational. The queues are a killer so would recommend visiting outside of peak times (no weekends!).

Intended to share with the family but ended up eating them all. Pop in early for a coffee and a pastry fresh out the oven!

We have been there a few times and the pastry were always yum and delicious. We love the seeded sourdough it’s was full of wooded aroma even our baby girl loved it. A bit on the pricey side but def worth every penny.

Omg. O.M.G. it was so good. I felt like I was cheating on my partner. Omg.
Will be going back as soon as possible.
Coffee was surprisingly good.

I want travel back to Brisbane just for their pastries!! The danishes were just heavenly

So delicious! I went late in the afternoon on a Sunday. There were still a number of great options available (and only a small queue). The zucchini treat was incredible, and the doughnuts... so good.
L. L.
We tried almost the whole menu, the pastries were nice. Nothing that was amazing or truly unique. The sourdough was good and probably the best part. I do think they're overpriced for what you get though.

I absolutely love this bakery! I have tried a few of their pastries: cheesecake, tiramisu doughnut, strawberry kouign amann, choux and carrot cake. My fav is the carrot cake. Such a perfect combo of flavours.
Staff is very professional and always smiling. Coffee is great as well.
Cannot wait to go back for my weekly carrot cake :)
Thank you so much guys!
Keep up the great work :)
See you soon

Today bought a loaf of the malted wood fired bread and a stick of smoked butter for my friend- a white-bearded artist whose father was a baker in Ballarat from the 1920’s to the 50’s.
That bread bought a smile to his face and a twinkle to his eyes.
Thank you.

Loved their bakery items with good value!

OMG! This beautiful bakery is an absolute gem! I called in at the end of their 1st day (my interest was sparked as I drove past in the morning and there was a 100 meter line-up of peeps down James St). This place must have something going for it. I was not disappointed. The young, cheerful girl who greeted me was very knowledgeable on the delights available. I purchased a blackberry and blueberry and a passion fruit with melted marshmallow Kouign-amann. Supercalifragilisticepialidocious is an apt word for my experience of this pastry delight. From the crispy outer layers of glazed pastry to the inner taste bud tingling cream patisserie, I was completely lost in indulgent heaven.
I can’t wait to go back to Agnes Bakery and savoury their many other delightful offering.
Congratulations!!!

Overpriced and overhyped. Nothing special, not worth lining up for. Paid $8 for smoked butter, I expected it to be like the butter from Rogue Bistro but it was just regular butter.
T. J.
The people complaining about the wait times and things being “overhyped” are actively trying to rob our city of the cultural fabric this group have built. You should be PROUD to have venues good enough to attract hour long line ups. Not trying to tear them down on a keyboard.
Other cities cry out for the quality that’s on offer here. But no, you’re too impatient and disrespectful to appreciate the hard work and sacrifices made to create ONE place like this let alone FIVE in less than a decade.
We’ve gone from the cultural and culinary sidelines of the Asia Pacific to attracting international attention thanks to this crew but you’re all too busy whining about the layout of a display cabinet or having to wait longer than 35 seconds for bread that was previously available only in a hatted restaurant.
Go Agnes. We love you ❤️❤️❤️

Favorite bakery on Brisbane, everything is amazing and we always buy waaaaaaaay to much to take home but never regret!
B. E.
Everything is excellent and can't wait till the add some more condiments and things. They make stuff you don't really see in Australia (like pithivier) which is fun as well

Pumpkin sourdough is delicious especially with the smoked butter they also sell.
T. F.
Went here pretty early and there was already a bit of a queue. The sweet selection tasted good however I liked the savory ones better
j. r.
Not worth queuing for, the doughnuts are amazing but the bread is overpriced and not great, much better sourdough nearby.
S. B.
10/10 delicious. Friendly joyful staff and fantastic goods. Couldn’t rate higher!

If you have to line up to get good food then it must be great food. Very nice thanks Agnes bakery

Easiest 5 Star Rating. Thank you Hallie and Team. Everything was so delicious and pretty well priced.

Since I did the Joinery that made it brand new,
I think it looks beautiful.

So far it is a hit and miss. Everything looks fabulous, but some have come ip short in flavour or texture. I believe there is demand for the "burnt" baked cheesecake. I don't get! Once I removed all the "burnt " parts, I enjoyed it. The bagels were as I hoped. Th jam donut was a huge disappointment for a basic staple in most bakeries. I purchased two, threw out the other. Just was not worth the calories. The dough was very dry and had an odd flavour.
