A.Currently closed till early January, unfortunately. My favourite bakery around cairns, plenty to choose from and I can recommend the fresh made sandwiches or the chicken mornay pie! Staff are always lovely and once gave me a free pack of cream buns, how good!!

Mine, I had the lamb and rosemary pie. It was generous in size and quality of filling -plenty of tender tastie lamb.
N.I think they should do deals like pie and a coke for cheaper price. Nice food but paying over $10 for a drink and one pie seems pricey
i. f.We love this bakery and go everytime we're near the area. I've traveled all around QLD and still can't find anything that come close enough to this bakery. Easily the best bakery I have ever been to! Heart and soul of Babinda!
P.S. The Apple turnover ( W/ cream obviously) is the best I have EVER had, not even joking.
A. E. T.It’s not hard to see why this place has so many people waiting outside and so many 5 star reviews. I was having a bad morning when I strolled through babinda after my jetski came off it’s trailer. I walked into the babinda bakery and was greeted by Annette the owner. I told Annette about my morning and she was very kind in giving me a free coffee and pie. The act of kindness definitely lightened up my morning and the food + coffee was absolutely unreal. Heaps of people visiting the bakery from everywhere. Will definitely be back a d thanks Annette 😃😃

I had pies- shepherds looked amazing the lamb was great quality and chunky- tiny but sweet for me but still really yum, very long sausage rolls, drinks, a Christmas cake that is to die for! And even though is priced at $18 for a large cake… my large family are still eating it with joy! They have fresh Vienna loaves and yum little finger buns in the display.
The place unfortunately was quite rushed. People didn’t greet me kindly. Is it too hard to declutter your small store and use smiles. Even though you had nearly 9 visitors I counted ten staff. And they were pushy and as I came In towards the door with my covid app open- the lady rudely demanded I check in- hello that’s why my phone was outstretched in my hand. Unfortunately that was so unfriendly I doubt I’ll return in a hurry. Despite the food being lovely. The store itself is so untidy. And the clutter is gross. I didn’t no where to look- nothing had prices except the drinks. And the furniture is outdated and rickety. I hope you see this review and respond. I’ve a million suggestions to make your store nice. The first being train your older blonde female staff. And the second to make proper signage and clean everything up. Lastly you didn’t have any sanitiser as I left the store. I did ask. And you( same rude lady) said no it’s indoors only. And seeing as I’d already come out of the doors. I chose to tell you this experience and let you know this gets a very poor review when you can’t do covid safety properly. I shall report to qld health my findings. And I need you to take this seriously. I’m not a “Karen” my reviews are in the millions of views. I’m well travelled and I expect basic hygiene. It can’t go on. Come on babinda bakery. You could be a awesome place. May this find you up skilling and working yourselves out asap. I’m happy to revisit and re do my review if invited when you’re ready to be decent.
T. T.Great little bakery, really enjoyed all that we got, which was a fair bit with Sarah going crazy in there.
j.Pictured is the hot chilli pie, it had a complete layer of chilli seeds and all(delicious heat). We also bought 5 other pies varying from plain, potato, pea, curry&pea and lamb rosemary. All pies had thick pastry tops and thinish hard crispy bottoms. Great value considering price and size as well as flavours overall were great. I would if i could eat 'em every weekend.
V. M.This bakery does the best pies, crispy and flaky on the outside. Juicy, moist and flavour some on the inside. The pies are addictive! Then there is the cream buns mmmm delish its always worth the drive from Cairns everytime!

The hamburger buns are so soft and stayed that way for the 2 days we had them. Bread the same. We also bought a vanilla slice but was too full to eat it. It too was very nice the next day.

Bought 2 sausage rolls and 2 cream buns for myself and my wife for morning tea. The sausage rolls were great but the cream buns were something else. They reminded me of the cream buns I used to buy as a kid. I wish I had bought more.

J. N.Fantastic! Fresh and delicious pies. Hot beef pie was actually properly spicy with what looked like a whole habanero pepper mixed in with big beef slices. Reasonably priced for the quality as well.
T. A.This is arguably the best pies in Australia, had a lot of pies in my life and this one is the absolute best hands down. The crust is soft whilst also crunchy/flaky and bursting with flavor. The stuffing is generous and no nasty surprises. Chunky meat and lovely gravy. My partner generally doesn't like pies but was very pleasantly surprised with the flavor and amazing pastry.
Check their business hours, I think they close early, like 1pm.
An absolute must if you are anywhere near here. Do it your taste buds will thank you for it.

L.Me n my bf have tasted 4 pies from 4 different pie shops during our journey to Cape York even the award winning one and I think your pie is the best among all but sadly u don't have chicken mushroom which is my all time.favourite😔 . However the chicken cheese and chive is also good especially the flaky pastry. We both enjoyed it very much and the portion is big too.

C. S.The chocolate GF cheesecake is divine from here so I popped back the next day to try something else. Went with a Apple Pie. Not so good flakey pastry on top is lovely. Filling ( apple) tasted like the one that's over sweet out of a big catering tin. The base obviously is the standard pie base used for all the pies. Have to be honest was disappointed as a dessert/ sweet pie flakey top and bottom would be great also real apples with less sugar and maybe a few spices would work wonders.

J. H.Incredible bakery - the line up was pretty long today because covid only allows 9 people at a time. Pies and sweets were delicious. We spent a small fortune in there haha. Only thing is that the lamb and Rosemary pie lacked meat - but pastry and filling were still delicious!

Oh alright! Pies are magnificent! Make sure you have time up your sleeve, because it really isn't a secret that only the locals know of. Queues can be a bit long, but well worth the wait.

Their buns and slices are also delicious, and they have great coffee. K. N.I wish I could give this bakery 10 stars! We thought that the meat pies were absolutely scrumptious. The pie crust was yummy & flaky, and the fillings were seasoned well and satisfying. We also enjoyed wonderful bread several desserts including a fabulous lamington and a mint hedgehog. If you've never had a mint hedgehog you're missing out! The owner, Annette is a simply delightful person. She was very hospitable and she went out of her way to see to the comfort of our family of six. This bakery has a lovely ambience, and I would highly recommend it for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or just a quick snack!

Their was a variety of food, but especially for sweet tooths! The variety of tarts we got was very delicious and the sausage roll was big and very worth it's price! It is really soft, is full of grains and has a beautiful crunchy crust of sesame seeds. The pies are wonderful and I have to say that they make a great hedgehog slice, vanilla slice and lamingtons. Everything is yummy. We have lived in Babinda for 6 months and it makes living here just that much better. Do yourself a favour and drop in. Just make sure it's before 2pm (That's when they close for the day). 10 out of 10!!!!!
