I stopped here for lunch, because it had good reviews. I had a cheese & bacon sausage roll & custard filled donut. Unfortunately I was disappointed. The sausage roll was better than the commercially produced ones you buy in servos, but it wasn't great. I also wasn't impressed with the custard donut. They had a good range of pies and other products & were pretty busy.

Gin Gin is a great little town for a rest stop on your travels between the Fraser Coast and Capricorn Coast. It’s well set up north and south to get caravans and RV off the road and the bakery is a key reason, although not the only one, to stop. Really fresh bakery treats and a friendly team. We tried their custard tart with cinnamon apple in shortcake crust and a custard donut this trip and will no doubt stop again on the southern stretch. Delicious.

The best pie shop in Australia I had the privilege of stopping at the bakery especially to try out the pies ! At the time I was working up in Bundaberg on the mine and a few of my mining mate’s Told me on my walkabout I had to stop there and try out their excellent cuisine which I did , and especially look out for the one which was called baked Alaska I did to die for man I bought four pies went outside cross the road and ate three pies one after another man they were great a big thank you to the lovely staff and ladies who work there take my hat off to you girls for a great job well done I did talk about your shop a lot to my friends and family is back in the United States and on my turn again I will be stopping in your shop this time with my wife she’s looking forward to it thank you all again God bless be safe be happy kind regards Mick

This place is 5 stars all day. Large outdoor dining area which is very clean. Upon entering you're greeted with country style hospitality and friendly smiles. Makes me sick when people are so happy at work 🤣🙂🤣 Then there was the pie.... Up there with the best. Nice and hot. Beautiful filling (I had the curry pie), and I love how it stuck together right to the last bite. Nice coffee too. What a treat.

No trip north is complete without a stop at the Gin Gin Bakery. Our family is driving home to the Gold Coast from a holiday in Airlie Beach and Mackay. My wife has been talking about this bakery since we left Mackay saying she has to stop for a lamination. Absolutely 💯 amaze balls. The long John jam don't I had with custard filling was like a pure sure shot. Best long John I've ever had. The meat pies AMAZING 👏

Great pies. Have travelled around Australia, and made a point of trying bakershop pies whenever I could. Gin Gin bakery has pies in my top 5. Chunky beef, steak and kidney, steak and cheese, mushroom and a heap more. Plenty of filling, full of flavour and reasonable price. Has all the other usual bakery products which I assume are just as good as the pies given the number of customers. Recommended.

Good pie, full of filling but the filling is that mince jelly not the steak and mushroom advertised. Not much steak in it. Pastry was nice. I'm not a fan of pies that the filling all falls out the back and all over your hands when eating it. Lots of nice fresh looking cakes but I wasn't tempted. Good position right on the highway with plenty of easy parking for cars and caravans.

Its a well-stocked bakery with everything that you would expect. What worried me was the pie list. The first word of each pie was taped over with the word 'Meat' written in place. I chose a chicken pie because it was the only named meat available. The pie was tasty enough and the pastry was nice but there was more creamy filling than chicken inside.

I don't normally buy pies due to too many bad experiences but someone told me about the amazing pies here so I just had to try them when I had a chance on my trip driving from Brisbane to Cairns. Oh my! Those pies! Having tasted them now myself I can honestly say they make the best pies I've ever eaten. This Bakery is a gem!! It's like driving on the Desert that is the Bruce highway, suddenly the Oasis of Gin Gin pops up! Then just follow the 'Grey Nomad's' heading north through to the best secret in town. Best pies, honest friendly service, eat and relax, 'no worries mate'. Then start the 'Camel' join the caravan to complete your journey to the bl...dy best part of the Sunshine State.

Icon in Gin Gin, however when we asked a member of staff if one of their products contained egg or nuts, we were told that they didn't know as it wasn't made on site. Unfortunately, that isn't good enough in this industry, it limited our purchasing and made us wary of what products we could buy. Gin Gin bakery, you should have on hand a list of products and a list what goes into each product so that you protect yourself as a business. Anaphylactic reactions are real and life threatening.

So, I'm torn in writing this review. You see, I love Love LOVE their curry chicken pies. They are the best in Queensland, maybe in all of Australia, possibly in the world. They are perfectly seasoned with a creamy filling, chunks of chicken and beautiful flakey pastry. Gin Gin Bakery is absolutely worth your time if you are passing through, it is even worth being your destination. The probem is, I don't really want everyone to know that, because you all will go there and eat the pies, and there won't be any left for me... They have heaps of other pies on offer you know, and yummy sweets and pretty good coffee. I think you will prefer those.
