On Grant Street, just off Macrossan sits this lovely bakery a few doors down from the corner. Cakes and pies look absolutely delicious. Staff friendly. Coffee was great . And the ‘escargot’ was nothing like I have seen in a very long time. Reminds me of the rustic Mediterranean pastries I grew up with, large and full of pastry, sultanas and custard. Wow ! May not compare to the exquisitely made finer pastries , but this place certainly sits in a category of its own . Will come back to try their amazing Vanilla Slice !

You could smell the beautiful pies from afar! I'm so glad I opted to get a pie & brownie from Grant Street Kitchen while my other family members dined up the road. I had the coral trout & prawn pie which was delicious. I intend to taste all the pies at some stage! 😂 The brownie with walnuts was rich & delectable! The serving size of all the food are massive & by the cheapest I have seen anywhere around Cairns/Port Douglas. I smashed my food pretty fast & walked away with a massive smile on my dial! All of us kiwis love a good bakery so I can wholeheartedly say that this place is a winner! Thank you to all involved, keep up the great work! 😍👍🏼

200% recommend this place, high quality and healthy foods. Sushi salad bowl has big potions of tasty salmon and brown rice! Sandwich has huge chunks of chicken and lettuce. So yummy! 🤤 I love how they care about healthy food. Also, lovely staff too :)

Whilst visiting PD, we would often pop into Grant Street Kitchen to get a snack or a light lunch after exploring the region throughout the day. Friendly staff and a great choice of delicious baked goods, salads or fresh rolls. We may have had one or four of their sweet baked goodies too

Had the best almond croissant here! I like to try almond croissant wherever I travel! I really like grant street’s croissant. It has a crispy skin with a lot of fillings. When bite it, I feel my mouth has full of buttery, almond and the filling in. I have to say this is the best croissant I have tried so far! I They also have pie. I normally not a pie person, but their chicken curry pie is also very outstanding! Would definitely go back again!

Our almond croissant was stale, granted we bought it after lunch but at that price point you expect either fresh croissants throughout the day or none at all. The praline was ok, middle of croissant very moist and too sweet as if it had been drowned in sugar syrup. Nonetheless it’s a nice vibe with the outside tables on the patio full when we visited.

Great bakery with everything baked on the premises each day. Highlight was the specialty coral trout and prawn pie. Good chunks of fish and prawn wrapped in an excellent pastry shell! Had the meat pie on another day (trout/prawn was sold out) and this was a cracker also. Pulled beef slow cooked to a deep rich flavour. My only criticism which is one really is the portions sizes are huge. We shared the fish pie and my vanilla slice could have feed three. Almond croissant even more so. Love my bakery good so it tragic not to eat it all at the time.

I chose the Jungle pie. While the pastry was excellent; the filling lacked flavour and quantity. It was described to me as veitnamese chicken. 4 pieces of chicken. Do I chance my hard earned money on the meat pie? The lemon donut however was delicious. Full of the lemon flavour I enjoy with a cute strawberry on top. Well done Their sourdough is a MUST.

Lovely locally owned bakery. Super tasty sausage roll, brownie and iced coffee ordered by my husband. I got a green smoothie which was also delicious. The only thing not that great was the bircher muesli pot. It wasn't very tasty & I usually love bircher muesli! Also not very easy to eat in the little takeaway cup with the toppings. I ordered a ham and cheese croissant instead to replace it which was great. Overall would definitely go back, good food, great service and great value for money.

Possibly the best pies in Australia! So delicious. We stayed in Port Douglas for 6 days, and ate at this bakery as often as possible. One day, we raced back from a bike ride in record speed just to get to this bakery before closing time. Totally worth the horrific searing pain in my legs as I fiercely rode like a maniac, drooling as I thought of the deliciousness ahead of me. I yelled out to my partner, who is a faster rider than me, "Just leave me behind! Go get me a pie!". And he did. But I made it anyway and it tasted even better. I even considered filling my bag with these pies for the trip home haha! But I will just have to live with the memory of these little beauties until I return to Port Douglas in years to come.

Had a fantastic egg and bacon roll and delicious iced coffee here. It was so good we decided to return a few days later to do it again, but unfortunately the eggs were overcooked this time. Pastries were all delicious although the croissants were a little under done in the middle. Would definitely return, especially for the iced coffees!

The coral trout & prawn pie was excellent. What a bargain for $7.50. Both pastries were super flaky and on point. Already planning all our breakfast to be done here! We came a second time and realised that they catered for Wavelength (our reef cruise’s) lunch and tea. All the sandwiches were great and their cookie is omg amazing. Definitely the best bakery I’ve had, their Cronut was better than Lune’s 🚀.

Disappointing! -Prior to visiting I followed this bakery on social media and saw all of the good reviews so was so excited to try - we had a group of 6 and unfortunately the only decent items were the almond croissant and the sausage roll. The ham and cheese croissant looked good in the window but once toasted and delivered it was so dry it was barely edible. Nobody on our table finished theirs. The brie, chicken pesto roll was really underwhelming, tasted like a 7-11 sandwich. This place was pretty empty and the cafe on the corner was packed, should have taken it as a sign. We all agreed we were upset we wasted a meal here. I really love to support small business so don't want to be too negative here as really appreciate people giving it a go. Staff were friendly and it looks a lot better than it is unfortunately.

Wow, honestly had one of the best Bacon & Egg Rolls ever here. The coffee was alright but it can't top their standard B&E, the roll really makes it plus they use 2 eggs and good bacon. Can't recommend trying it out enough.

The food and service is extremely good, however I just thought it's worth mentioning so the owner is aware. Your regular diners are very rude. My husband went and sat at an empty table, minutes later only to be told by a local to move because it's "his" table and him and his friends sit there every Sunday. There were plenty of other empty tables so my husband got up and moved. I understand local custom is important but for a town that relies on tourism and visitors it's not a great look. Your regulars almost made us change venues, however the pastries just looked too good so we sat at another table feeling a bit off the whole experience. We won't be back.

The search is over I’m on a life long quest to find the perfect meat pie and Grant Street Kitchen in Port Douglas has the best beef pies I’ve ever had. Perfect soft, thick and flaky pastry enveloping rich, ample, melt in your mouth beef at the perfect temperature. The average mass produced ‘pie’ in Australia is a dry hard biscuit crust purporting to be pastry containing a molten concoction of gristle in gravy that strips the roof off your mouth. Grant Street Kitchen take a bow for nailing the perfect Aussie pie.

It’s so hard to write this review and not swear. That coral trout and prawn pie was so f’n good. Amazingly crunchy but soft flaky pastry with a velvety inside of chunks of trout, magical prawns and veg throughout. Hey, free tomato sauce too….the fridge full of colourful quiches, vanilla slice and take home salads will be something I’ll be working my way through during my PD holiday. Great fit out too.

The best bakery ever. We have been here every day for the last 3 days and blown away. You get the best coffee, best baked goods but the icing on the cake is the service. The front counter lady is Honestly the most loveliest, composed lady. She was even training someone and so calm and receptive. One of the best bakeries in Aus and great service. Amazing sausage rolls with a buttery flakey pastry, and the best bacon & egg rolls on a freshly made milk bun. There's a good variety of other fresh items, pies and sweet pastries and the coffee is good too. We've visited this place several times now and each time it does not dissapoint. During peak season it's hard to get a table so would suggest going early or opt for takeaway!

I would go there every day and try all of their menu as it all looked so good. Can’t recommend this cafe highly enough. $7.50 for a fish pie was the best meal we’d had in Port Douglas.

Firstly I do love this cafe/bakery, however I find that many of the items they serve are a bit bland. Prices are mostly great. Desserts amazing. But some of the other options just lack the same specialness. Specifically the gourmet sandwich was very bread heavy and then next thing I tasted was mayo. The other ingredients faded to the back with the ratios they use. The chia bowl is nice, but overpriced for what it is. Lastly the chai latte is made with loose leaf tea, just a warning for those who like their chai lattes sweet, creamy and rich in flavor.

This is a must stop for any tourist in PD. I use to work in the area and visit the bakery most days. Hands down the best pies you will ever have. I am not normally a order of seafood however the coral trout and prawn pie is easily the MOST DELICIOUS THING I HAVE EVER TASTED. I returned to PD a year later for a holiday and my goodness. Nothing had changed. I would rate 10 stars if it was an option. Enjoy. You will not regret it.

It looked so perfect. These gi-normous, warm croissants (regular and almond) that just screamed “love me” but alas it was not to be. It was not for a shortage of butter, let’s be clear, but about the flavor and about the undercooked state of the interior for the regular croissant and the lack of almond-flavor essence for the second. I also noticed an overpowering coconut flavor with the almond croissant so if that’s your go-to, then this might be perfect for you. I thought, “Where is the almond paste flavoring that I’m used to as a Californian?” (Yes, I’m spoiled from having access to great almond paste). The lemon curd doughnut raised my curiosity enough to buy it but alas the dough was too heavy and not pillowy enough to be an awesome melt-in-your-mouth (think Krispy Kreme) doughnut. Awe, shucks. Looks = rating of 5 stars. 3 stars is based on mouth experience.
