🥐 croissant heaven
❤️ the red
💚 pandan croissant
🍮 canele
🏠: @agathepatisserie
📍: Royal Arcade, Bourke St
📝: One of my favorite places to go to when I’m craving pastries, specifically pandan croissants 🤣. It’s actually my first time visiting the one in CBD. There’s a much less selection compared to South Melbourne, but as long as they have my pandan 🥐 croissant, I don’t mind 😋.
❤️: Super buttery, light, and flakey croissants. The pandan is as good as always. Quality always consistent as ever! First time trying ❤️ ‘The Red’, which was delicious, yet my true love for the 💚 pandan does not waver 😅. The canele tasted amazing, but the texture was not as what I’d had hope. It was so longer crunchy on the outside, most likely because it was sitting out for a while, but that’s understandable. Still recommend their pastries as always.

The custard sweetness is balanced, the croissant is enjoyable and buttery. Not a fan of the pandan one, but these pastry is worth to try.

So convenient that Agathe has opened a mini shopfront in the CBD. The pandan croissant was beautifully shatteringly crisp, delicious although the pandan flavour was not as strong as the colour would suggest. The canele was also the best I have had - crispy exterior, caramelised bottom and moist, custardy interior. Wonderful breakfast!

This chocolate pear tart from Agathe Patisserie had so many things happening in it that every bite was a pleasant surprise. The crust was fresh and buttery. Fresh pieces of candied pear married well with chunks of dark chocolate. The tart was not overly sweet and it certainly brightened up my day while in lockdown last week☀️

Really delicious pandan croissant and pandan flan. The shop is a very tiny hole in the wall and was hard to locate, but it was worth the trip there.
The pandan croissant was bright green inside and I would have preferred if it was more natural in color, but the taste was good. It had a light pandan flavor but was slightly masked by the sweetness of the icing on top. The croissant was also not a fresh as other croissants I've had before.
Personally I liked the pandan flan better. It had a soft, delicate, custard-like texture inside of a crisp pastry. It wasn't too sweet and the pandan flavor was nicely blended in with the subtle sweetness of the flan.
Would definitely come back again for the pandan flan! I might want to try their canele as well, as I've heard that it's good. But I think I will visit the South Melb market store next time because people say that their pastries are freshly baked there, so probably tastes better.

By the time I got there, most of their pastries were sold out. But I was lucky to grab one of their last Pain au Chocolats.
It was light and flaky overall and the layers of buttery softness on the inside made it simply extraordinary. The chocolate filling was delicately rich without being overly sweet which was just perfect. Would like to come back to try their Pandan croissants next time.

Tried the pandan flan. It was beautiful, with the pandan custard that was not too sweet and nice flaky pastry on the outside. The pandan flavour was quite strong, so that was really nice. Service was great and they were so friendly and nice. It's a really small shop in Royal Arcade, but there was a good variety of pastries and definitely worth checking out. Unfortunately, no photograph because I got too excited to eat it.

This tiny shop in the Royal Arcade offers delicious pastries, real works of art! We tried the Pandan croissant, an extraordinary piece of baking, and the chocolate and custard pastry, which was just plain lovely. My friend and I disputed if the chocolate one was a bit burned. I didn't think so. I do like my pastries really toasty. Don't think I've ever paid $8 for a pastry before, but you can see the work that has gone into these. Lovely.

Small little pastry shop tucked away in The Royal Arcade. Really good croissants! One of the best in Melbourne.

Look no further for the perfect croissant!
Almost missed this most unassuming, humble kiosk patisserie. However it is certainly not to be missed. Best croissants compared to the high society bakeries in Melbourne. The pastry was crisp, browned well on the outside with perfect texture and the dough was soft, airy, light, buttery and tasted of true simple ingredients done well. The best test of a plain croissant is that it is ecstasy by itself without needing any additions like butter, jam, cheese etc.
The rhubarb turnover was also excellent. Could have used a little more punchy bitterness from rhubarb, but nitpicking here as the pastry could not be improved upon.
Raspberry croissant - melt in the mouth indulgence. So many items to get through in a lifetime.
Wish they opened later than 3pm as a lot of items sell out quickly - for good reason.

The pandan croissant! So good, could do without the sugar glaze but otherwise delicious!

I have to agree with some reviewers that these croissants were better than Lune. Crispy exterior, soft fluffy interior. Recommend!
M. M.
Awesome croissant!!
It's very small place and only takeaway is available.
Wanna try other flavored croissant!!

Agathe always provides the best pastries in Melbourne, and the lovely staff always make the queue worthwhile. there's a large assortment of cool pastries that you can take home to show off to your friends, but get in early or miss out.
W. W.
The level of care translates to crisp, buttery pastries with bite and full bodied flavour.
Go early, but definitely worth the wait. My personal favourite plain croissant; one I’d take over Lune’s any day.
Featuring a crispy outer shell that fragments into buttery and flaky shards, giving way to a crumb of luxuriously creamy body with a bit of al dente bite.
Their caneles are also perfectly caramelised, with a slightly sticky resistance to every bite. It will keep you coming back for more.

Little tuck away patiserrie inside the bourke street area. Love the canelle, crisp on the outside and soft and soft inside. Pandan croissant is amazing, remind me of the srikaya spread at home.

Little gem of the Royal Arcade. Some pastries are a bit too sweet to my liking but always full of flavour. It a perfect spot to satisfy your craving for French delicacies and butter. I recommend their nice range of croissants with different filings.
It is good to see a french pastry chef going out of her comfort zone and having fun with French classics.
A.
Delicious baked goods. Very busy but worth the wait.
Z. S.
The croissants were good, a little bit dry but taste wonderful, the seller’s attitude is unlikable though.
H. N.
The croissant was great as usual (I tried both stores, in South Melbourne Market and in CBD). But the store in CBD is very small and a bit hard to find. They dont have as many to choose as well, only best sellers there.
A. A.
Was a bit put off by how artificial the green color of the pandan croissant looks, but I must admit it is eye-catching. Tasted pretty good and worth a try, though don't expect it to taste like actual pandan
Y. L.
Taste great! A small shop close to Bourke st. Had Matcha one, very tasty.
C. S.
The best cannele everrrrrr so delicious inside and out 😩😩😩
T. B.
Delicious. Was a nice surprise to find this little kiosk nestled inside the arcade
A. L.
Best croissant - crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. We got ours pretty fresh, early on Friday and bought the last matcha croissant. I want to try them all honestly after this wonderful first impression.

Amazing little patisserie hidden in the royal arcade. Delicious croissants a must try.
V. L.
Tried their apple puff pastry and as a great fan of puff pastries & croissants, I must it is one of the best tasting ones I have eaten! It was not greasy, and the apple slices complemented very well with the fluffy buttery addictive pastry, I cant even explain why it tastes so good
V. M.
Bought the panda, chocolate and original croissants at Saturday market. Possibly the best tasting croissants to date!!
S. V.
The croissants are amazing. I highly recommend you to try the chocolate croissant. The madeleines were a little dry for my taste. The showstopper is the mini chocolate cupcake. Must try for anyone missing French bakery goods.
M. N.
Best croissants I’ve ever had ! I had the almond, chocolate, and Pandan flavors and all were AMAZING!!!! And so much better than Lune. (The almond croissants from lunes tasted like a lemon bread/cake)
A. E.
I stumbled upon this tiny outpost of pastry goodness when strolling through Royal Arcade last week. I spent a few minutes vaguely staring at the glass cabinet unable to decide whether I buy something for after lunch or go for options that I could loosely characterise as lunch... I had a croque monsieur and an apple crumble, possible my most decadent lunch in a while. Both were on point. I couldn't fault the textures, the flavour balance or look. Amazing.
So I had to go back, today I went more traditional. I bought a croissant and almond croissant as well as some hot-cross buns. Needless to say, all delivered on the high expectations. I'm looking forward to working my way through the pastry window!
M. S.
Delicious flaky pastries with delightful flavour. I love their custard heart, choc chips and custard croissants, and the canele.. soo yummy 😋
B. M.
Pandan croissant. A first for me. Very delicious.
V. M.
Best super buttery sumptuous croissant 🥐 in Melbourne.
m. C.
Was just passing by and thought to try it. Had the apple puff pastry and it was so good, soft and easy to bite into, and the sliced apple made the texture really enjoyable! Cute small shop tucked inside the arcade. Would recommend :]
M. T.
Their croissants are the best! The girl named Johanna in the shop front was really nice and also very helpful. I will be back for more!
A. K.
Tried pandan croissant, which was nice, flaky, Sweet and nice texture. Small little shop near Bourke St Mall
M. C.
I had the plain and matcha croissants today, although taste was great and they are fragrant, they are not as fresh as the main store. A bit disappointed!
J. Y.
The greatest croissant and the staff was so friendly
L. D.
Some of the best pastries I've had no kidding. Had the Rubarb turnover and choc chip croissant

forget Lune, Agathe is the real deal. After doing a croissant tour of Melbourne i came back to Agathe and can confirm these are the best in town. absolutely delicious.
M. M.
This is the place you want have the best croissant🥐🥇
H. D.
A bit better and cheaper than Lune, for plain Croissants.
Extremely buttery and delicious and rarely the crazy queue.
Best I have found

Tiny little shop under the stairs in the offshoot of the Royal Arcade. You'd be hard pressed to find better quality and more authentic French Pastries in Melbourne.
J. F.
The Nutella brioche was an absolute dream!!! I wish they sold it there more often. It would be my weekly treat!
N. Z.
I hate this delicious little French hole in the wall so close to work. Whatever you do, don’t go and eat a croissant. Then don’t go back to eat the pistachio and cherry pastry. Don’t do it to yourself man.
R. A. P.
The best pandan 🥐 in Melbourne! Flaky, crunchy, tasty and yummy 💚
K. G.
Tried pandan croissant and matcha croissant, pandan one is sweeter than matcha but both are amazing
M.
Love the Pandan Croissants, almost never make a trip to the city without getting one.

(Translated) I was walking around in the morning, but the locals were in line, so it was delicious. It's really delicious. I like Canulle, so I'm looking for a famous place in Korea, but it's really delicious. But croissants are a bit expensive, but it's unique, so let's have a bit of experience. Inside is fluorescent green.
