Comments of Bakery on Broadway
C. J. T.
This was the busiest location and after tasting the food, I can see why. I shared a Hawaiian pizza and it was so good. It's a pity I only had space for one, I wish I could have tried everything. Highly recommended and they have an outdoor sitting area.
T. N.
Dropped in mid-morning on the Saturday off Labor Day long weekend 2022. Was very surprised to see this charming, friendly establishment was quiet. The outdoor dining was wonderfully shady with easy access to a child's play area and bathroom facilities. Inside was welcoming, warm and friendly. The staff were all smiling, happy and up for a chat. The meat pie was enormous, full of fresh premium mince, coffee was hot and delicious. The doughnuts are beyond compare! Looking forward to visiting this town again in the future and the bakery is a must visit if you're in the area.
C. L.
Nice crispy pies, pepper beef pie is very peppery and includes tomato sauce, chicken korma has lots of vegetables but is a bit dry.
Thick shake good but small

What a place. I wanted to stay a while day in the laundry. There is such amazing things displayed. The accommodation is very tastefully eclectic. Beds comfy. Very very clean. Wait till you see the firepit mosaic medley uhhhhh your going to love this place.
T. H. R.
Great place to stop for breakfast, lunch or for a snack. Great coffee and friendly helpful staff. Toilets and a kids playground on site.
D. K.
Friendly and clean. Deliciously made stuff and a huge selection!!! One of the best coffees ever tasted

A nice country bakery, we came on Easter Monday so the place was super busy in the afternoon and they were selling out fast. We managed to get our hands on a traditional beef pie and a beef and mushroom pie. The pastry was great and was filled well, however the filling was a bit on the salty side. The thickshake was great and actually had a thick texture unlike a lot of thickshakes that claim the name but are just milkshakes. My husband also got a coffee and a slice of blueberry cheese cake which were unfortunately really disappointing. Coffee was under extracted so was quite watery and cold and the cheesecake had no flavour. Would give these guys another go on a less hectic day.

Delicious food, lovely ambience and excellent service. Don't go too late in the day or you might miss out on the goodies!
T. M.
Great place to stop for a bite to eat. Tried the Mountain Man Pie and the Vanilla Slice, both were delicious. Great, friendly staff, welcoming atmosphere.
D. A.
Very nice coffee and great food
B. R.
Lovely food with plenty of hot and cold options, great atmosphere with a nice outdoor seating area.
M. M.
Great pit stop to stretch the legs and grab some refreshments and food which I usually do on this run on the Calder Hwy coffee was spot on but wish there was more Vegan options rather than just having a salad roll which could be a little more adventurous with the ingredients at hand or a protein ball but then again it’s a bakery.
H. L.
Stopped for lunch on the way to Swan Hill. Have been to local bakeries all over the country and this one is up there with the very best. Lovely atmosphere with great sevice. Curried sausage pie was delicious and bursting with filling. Excellent coffee and nice outdoor seating. Highly recommended.
D. S.
I've gotten decent coffee from here a few times as I pass through regularly. Staff are on the ball and the edible things look tasty but I always come through later in the day.
A. P.
Great coffee, milkshakes and the pies highly recommended. Then you get one of the delicious cakes. Great staff, just yum.
F. M.
Wonderful local spot with a great menu including diverse vegetarian options which was a real treat. Lovely shady setting for a break in a road trip.
S. B.
Great country bakery. Huge range of hot and cold food using local ingredients. Always busy so must be good😋
C. M.
Excellent service and choice, with a gluten free cabinet. Great for a traveller who wants a quick snack
K. H.
Great place to stop for lunch and a cuppa and out in the alley way for the cool breeze would stop again the girls were lovely .....
A. L.
Fantastic coffee (Gridlock roasters) and delicious pasties, pies and sandwiches. Definitely worth a detour.
s.
Beautiful little bakery. Highly highly recommend as a stopover on a long drive. Really well kept facilities, great food, and very helpful staff.
L. C.
Good atmosphere and lots of options!
This bakery has great hot and cold options for a vegetarian. Delicious cauliflower pie! Lots of yummy looking baked goods also.
The place has a lovely outdoor eating are, clean toilets and a fenced play area for kids.
I will definitely be back.
m. w.
Great pasties..vood service..could do a little more for gluten free customers.
s.
Fresh busy little bakery. Worth stopping and seeing this former court house transformed into a bakery.. Gorgeous and unique... great stop before doing the miles in the car
S. M.
Oh yeah, this is a funky little place. I tried a curried sausage pie, tasted exactly how I remembered curried sausage growing up! Love that Keens :). The chief had the cornish pastie, magnificent!
P. R.
Se service was very nice, personally I didn't like pastry on my pastie, other wise it was great
W. T.
Loved the story on the blackboard of the history of the building. Beautiful timber ceilings. Great food coffee and customer service.
S. O.
Good produce and friendly service unfortunately not able to supply an item that I specifically was looking for was there later in day so sold out of that product. Shop early in day for a greater product range.
E. C.
Quick Korma Pie and Vanilla Slice, excellent! Friendly staff!👍😁
G. K.
OMG. This is a place worth driving across the state to buy from. The food is fantastic. The staff are brilliant. Bought lunch here and it was the best decision of the day. Bought bread for home as well. (400klms away). Coffee was excellent. Will be back.
L. L. G.
Great place to stop and grab a pie/ sausage roll/coffee. Not cheap but it's nice.
N. B.
Very highly recommend stopping for food and coffee, Cornish Pasty was packed with filling, Mountain man pies were very filling and the Lemon and passion fruit cheesecake was divine.
Can eat in or outside in the Courtyard.
Nice history of the town on the chalkboard inside and local produce on sale.
An oasis in the middle of nowhere, and fittingly very busy-don’t pass it when driving through!
J. B.
On the way to Mildura on Christmas we stop off at Wycheproof Bakery on Broadway And I always get a chocolate milkshake and sometimes on the way back to Ballarat
C. G.
Was very pleased to find a country bakery that had vegetarian options!! They have 3 different vege pies here which is 3 more than most of the other bakeries I saw on my travels along the Murray river. Not to mention that both mine and my friends pies were great!! I had a lentil Dahl pie that had just the right amount of spice and lovely pastry too. Highly recommend to people looking for something a bit more upmarket than your regular bakery but they have all your classic Aussie desserts as well. Lovely outdoor seating area to enjoy your lunch and nice clean bathrooms. Overall very impressed.
T. C.
Had a pie that was awesome
L. C.
Country salad roll made with home cooked corned beef; and excellent coffee.
L.
Friendly staff great service good selection of food and great coffee best pies ever
M. M.
Excellent. Great coffee and brilliant food. We just happened to find this little gem on the way back to Melbourne and were pleasantly surprised. Highly recommend
K. B.
Never stop anywhere else on our road trips. Chicken and salad rolls are a must when stopping here, so fresh and they will make them how you want them if you ask.
C. A. (.
Nice little coffee shop, we got there around 30 minutes prior to closing. Limited seating inside due to current restrictions. Coffee and cake were nice.
S. F.
Love the variety of pies
M. A.
The bakery is amazing!!! Great selection of yummy pies, sausage rolls and pasties. Great coffee and customer service too. Oat milk would be a wonderful addition to dairy alternatives but I can't fault the coffee otherwise 😃
a. s.
Great tasting food, great service, a little hidden gem
L. M.
Hands down the best pie I’ve had in my life. Never have I come out of a pie actually feeling full. Great size and flavour, 100% recommend the korma
j. “. m. j. N.
Coffee was strong but not good tasting , adequate if your drowsy.
M. S.
We stopped in yesterday, 15/11/2020, with my 6 month pregnant daughter in tow. The service was lovely, both straight forward and helpful... and sooo accommodating! The salad sandwich "in a bowl without the bread" that I asked for was amazing! All fresh, none of those brown edges that salad fixings often get while waiting to be used, in the cool trays. Fresh and crunchy like it had just been cut/grated! Oh and the ham in it... it was Christmas ham, off the bone! None of that cheap overly processed stuff. Perrrrfect!
Exactly the break I needed on a 600km trip.
And, it was equally awesome to see all the customers giving room for the 3ft bubble! Looks like such a lovely little community!
Really enjoyed our 20 minute stop there, and will stop there again on our return trip, on Saturday.
S. B.
Lovely place. Arrived here twice over the weekend, both times at closing, and I was happy to make it in time. The coffee was good, cakes were delicious and the vanilla slices were fantastic. They were even better then the vanilla slices at Bridgewater.
The sourdough bread is very good.
Worth the stop. Or even the road trip.
k. d.
Great coffee. Friendly staff
I. I.
Would not recommend getting a chai. Paid for a large and it had no colour or taste. Luckily I am travelling and have my own chai powder in the car with me (to have once I get to my hotel).
But honestly, when I pay $5.50 for a large chai I shouldn't need to supply my own bloody chai powder. Maybe baristas need training on ratios regarding × amounts of scoops for small/medium/large. My drink had no taste, it honestly tasted like warm milk + hot water.
Aside from that bakery items were good.
K. F.
Lovely friendly stay great coffee and food so if you are traveling through Wychepoof 0n the way to Mildura stop and have a wonderful break
C. G.
Delicious almond croissant and amazing building
H. R.
Good coffee friendly ppl ☕🍩
W. D.
The best pastie I have had, good size, taste and value. Everything else looks well made and sizable. The coffee was quite nice also.
J. P.
The food was fantastic but the coffee was awful
O. G.
Beautiful recycled historic building with heated indoor seating area, which was a welcome relief on the windy and rain-swept day I visited. Pastries (sweet and savoury) were delightful, coffee good, staff lovely. Highly recommended as a spot to stop.
D. G.
Good value, good people, good product, I travel a lot for work and for pleasure. This place has never disappointed, the Dogs-Eyes (Pies) are great.
E.
Best pies and sausage rolls
P. H. (.
Had a chicken korma pie, crispy pastry and good filling. The coffee was nice too. Good stop on a long drive.
A. F.
This place is super cute from inside out & the staff are bloody beautiful!! Their pastries were so fresh & sweets & desserts, D-lish!!
Really well thought out little trinkets around that gave the place a really fun & inviting feel.
Highly, highly recommend a visit!!
A. D.
Great range of pastries, sweet and savoury. Great staff, plenty of outdoor seating to enjoy your meal.
G. M.
Fantastic food stop. Bakery to stop for.
Mother's day was another busy one with 707 Steam Train in town.
K. H.
A nice surprise on the long trip from Mildura to Melbourne. Gorgeous Cafe, unfortunately didn't get to sample the food. The coffee is delicious (long black), only downer was the lid wasn't on properly so dripped on my husband in the car. We can overlook that for a city quality coffee in regional Victoria 😊👌 keep up the great work team!
I. M.
As someone who loves a Vanilla Slice I cannot recommend this cafe highly enough. If you aren't into vanilla slices don't worry everything else looks pretty good as well AND the coffee is good too.
G. P.
Busy place on a Wednesday when I drove through. The food I got was OK, I was a little surprised at the price, but that's my fault not theirs. Pie was nice and the kids liked the sandwiches.
There's toilets out the back and a seating area.
It's in the way to Mildura, not on the way to Melbourne, so factor this in if you are travelling. I don't like to go away from the way I'm travelling.
G. W.
Located inside the old town hall, this bakery has lots of charm. Their pies and sausage rolls are full of flavour and meat, and importantly they don't fall apart when you pick them up. Coffee was a bit too strong/bitter for my taste, but thats only my opinion.
G. B.
Could well be the best pies in the state!! and definitely has the best sausage rolls
M. C.
Glad we stopped. saw this sweet cafe on the way to Mildura and made plans to stop in on the way home. Great vibes, charming building and sunshiny outdoor area. Exceptional service, the staff even offered to fill up my 2 drink bottles on a hot day and thoughfully added some ice. Loved our jelly slices, vchocolate milkshakes and coffee. I would highly recommend to anyone passing through
L. R.
A great little cafe, super yummy food plus really great coffee. And such lovely staff who are very accommodating. The freshly made scones just melted on our mouths. Thumbs up !!
L. D.
What a gem. Great comfy feel, excellent outdoor area and the first place I've ever seen a veggie pie (it was delicious too).
A. D.
I have never had a better meat pie or lamination in my life absolutely amazing well worth a visit
L. P.
Stopped by for some pies from Sea Lake. We had the beef pepper pie and the beef mushroom pie and thoroughly enjoyed having them. The vanilla slice we took away was excellent, not too sweet.
J. V. D. H.
Great food and good service.
A.
Perfect little find, good for a stop whilst on a long drive. Great selection of pies, breads and other food etc
Service is good and friendly. The atmosphere is great
N. B.
So glad we stopped here on the way through. Disappointed that we live so far away because it would have to be THE BEST PIES we have EVER had. Every day I have thought about that pie and wish I could have it again. I would love the recipe if you are reading this, happy to give you my email and also sign a contract to not make or sell them within 500km of your bakery. BTW I'm not a baker, just a chef and really really want the recipe for the pastry and filling. Please fulfill my daily daydream.
B. K.
Oh my god. It is amazing, such a lovely community environment everybody is so friendly. I recommend the broccoli, cauliflower and cheese pie with tzatziki sauce. As a drink hot chocolates are amazing for winter, for summer an ice cream is perfect.
g. b.
Love the sausage rolls
M. B.
Our regular midway stop between Melbourne and Mildura. Great selection of freshly prepared food, with friendly staff and ample seating outside.
h. b.
Loved this place.
The town is all about community.
They made the bakery to get people to stop.
I am glade we did!
Amazing food. Really lots of love went into their baked goods.
Coffee is pretty avarage compared to the best cafes. (Staff training, beans are high quality!)
But leaps and bounds over any other cafe between mildura and gisbourne.
A. M.
It is a little piece of heaven on the way to, or from Mildura. Fab fab fab, whether pie or cake. Coffee is excellent, and always super clean. Hence i give them money, twice, every 10 weeks.
K. J.
A great place to stop for a rest and meal when travelling on the Calder. Clean and well maintained with a great selection of food as well as sweets. Beautiful tables inside and a great atmosphere and plenty of options to eat outside as well. Highly recommended, love this place!
D. K.

J. K.
Just stopped in on the way to Mildura. I highly recommend you stop here for breakfast, lunch and a coffee. We were greeted by the amazing Amanda who served us up a delicious breakfast, chicken & salad sandwich on german seeded loaf, vegetarian pastie all baked in the bakery on site. Topped with an amazing coffee. Don't miss this place.
w. W.
The coffee is to die for, new owners are a breath of fresh air.
They've even got an electric massage chair, well done.
Go to stop on the way from Mildura to Melbourne.
F. S.
Excellent food, beverages and service. Their Mountain Man Pies and Cornish Pasties are well worth trying! A great spot for a revive stop if passing through Wycheproof...
T. G.
What a gem, you can tell they have pride in their food, service and establishment. A modern twist on a good old fashion country bakery. Looking forward to many more visits. Ask about their meeting room for a little privacy for business meetings.
B. B.

Good coffee (unbelievable to find a place with decent beans and Bonsoy) in a little country town. Veg. pastie was also top-notch. Worth the stop if you're travelling out west into the mallee. Five bags of popcorn.
D. A.
Good coffee. Friendly service. I had a steak and onion pie was really good.
I. M.

T. P.
Good coffee at a really characterful cafe. Friendly and classy cafe/bakery. Next door to an amazing array of huge metal sculptures.
D. W.
The other reviewers aren't wrong. No longer resign yourself to the kind of treatment you get at the Charlton Roadhouse or the Marong Pub! Make this your new pit stop on the journey between Mildura and Melbourne. You won't regret it (though perhaps find a better place than the local BP to fill up).
L. F.
Beautiful venue and great coffee. Worth the drive. Heaps of space to sit and enjoy the country atmosphere. Congrats to the owners.
l. h.
Got railroaded into this place.Tasted the wares and jumped the last train out of town. Was it worth it. I believe so

Excellent food and service, even though they were swamped with an unexpected amount of people showing up on their doorstep for breakfast with them all wanting a cooked breakfast with a nice hot cup of coffee on a frosty morning.
k. g.
Terrific bakery ,just wish they had zymill milk ,lactose free ,not soy milk ,not many pick soy by choice . The taste of zymill ,makes us lactose intolerant feel like we're normal .
G. D.
