I did buy anything but the vanilla slices and pies looked great

Wonderful pies and baked goods! We made a quick stop here on a road trip, the staff all had face masks on, the place was clean, neat and tidy. I was greeted as soon as I walked in, grabbed a pie and vanilla slice. The cauliflower, cheese and leek pie was creamy, pastry was flaky and very tasty. Definitely coming back next time we’re in the area!

What a treat to find this bakery. Delicious fresh sandwiches and the yummiest hedgehog. I was there in the afternoon of 3 Jan and staff were incredibly friendly and helpful.

Have been coming through Bruthen, and visiting the bakery for over ten years now (I remember when it was on the other side of the street). The crew have managed to produce consistently amazing food the entire time. My personal favourite are their pies. Fantastic pastry, even better fillings. Genuine home made pies, but with world class flavour The steak is chunky and they are packed full of flavour. Recommend the steak and pepper (see pic)

Every town claims they have the best in the country. That may actually be true for the Bruthen Bakery. One of the best steak and peppers I’ve ever had. The ladies working there and the regular locals were the best, making us feel like family. This was a couple of days after the fire went through the area as well, so the level of hospitality given the situation can not be understated! Coming back soon

Very busy on Sunday 23rd December. Staff flat out but managed to be very jovial. great banter between customers and staff made the visit very enjoyable. Good coffee and great selection of rolls and sandwiches. Well done to a hard working team.

Please state clearly and promptly whether you would like tomato sauce with your pie. The friendly and helpful staff have to ask every every EVERY time. The pasties are full of delicious seasoned vegetables as if the pastry is wrapped around a hearty meal of roast lamb.

Excellent Cornish pasties and efficient, cordial service in this busy little country bakery. It’s also very well positioned for a highway stop, being directly across the road from a small park and public toilets.

Absolutely beautiful little country town nestled within its picturesque valleys. The bakery is top class, offering the best baked goods ive ever purchased. The gourmet homemade sausage rolls are exquisitely crafted, every bite a spine tingling pleasure. Would recommend to anyone. Cannot wait to visit again.

Possibly the best cornish pastie ever made. While it is more work for you having to wash up, having a plate and some cutlery available would help me avoid wearing half the food. Not that I care very much given the bushfires and my happiness to inject money into the local economy, but your process of rounding the transaction up to $10 for cashless transactions probably needs some attention. If other businesses have a no minimum spend paywave model, then I'd suggest you need to look into this. Cashless transactions are the norm.

We stop here for lunch every time we drive back to Melbourne from Mallacoota. My favorite is the ready made salad roll with poppy seeds on top that also includes egg and cheese Otherwise l go for a really delicious curry pie. There is a yummy selection of cakes too as well as freshly baked bread. And of course Bruthen is as pretty as a picture.
