When we were stuck in lockdown I sampled many of the pastries in the Brunswick/Parkville/Carlton 5k area. Hands down these pastries were the best. The cherry danishes are amazing and the almond croissants are great too. Highly recommend.

Buttery crust but the pie overall quite dry and the filling a little floury. Reply: Hi ! Was the chicken and mushroom pie. Was broken up but was also informed about this before I purchased it, so not the fault of the waitress. Was $11 with a drink which I thought was a bit much.

Maybe it's because I'm new to Melbourne but every chai latte I get, I absolutely love and this place is the same. Beautiful and creamy. Also the croissant was wonderful. This is going to become one of my regular spots I think.

I had an escargot this morning. It was wonderful and so much better than the pale imitations from other patisseries I’ve tried in Fitzroy and Carlton. The only problem is that I inadvisedly shared it with my wife ... I’ll have to buy two in the future!

We had guests for lunch today who brought a selection of savoury pastries to share (the spinach and cheese slice is divine) and what can only be described as the greatest cheesecake I have tasted in my life. We don't live near by, but sure as hell will make sure to visit when we are in the area! Channeling this moment from Friends as we fight over the last slice this evening!

Could easily be five stars - if it weren't for the fluctuating croissant quality. When they're good, they're world class. When they're not, they're just average and I've come all this way for nothing. The pastry chefs should compare recipes for quality control.

5 star for perhaps the best croissant & spinach slice I have ever had in Melbourne. I am a regular customer at Filous and they have great friendly staff. They have got great coffee and pastries as well. They are all yum but my favourite is the cheesecake.

Ordered the orange and pistachios cake via deliveroo, the product image in deliveroo is absolutely misleading and in no way a description of what the actual cake looks like. So sad as I had ordered this cake on basis of a referral from a friend. This experience was quickly turned around by the owner who took ownership of the issue and went the extra mile to deliver the right cake within 30mins of the deliveroo nightmare. Cake itself was amazing and lived up to the recommendation provided by my friend. Happy customer experience

Dropped by over the weekend. Some of the best spinach slice, mushroom slice and croissants I have had in my life. A small cosy cafe with terrific service and mouth watering food. The breads looked amazing. Will surely try them next time. A hidden treasure of Carlton.

Popped in after a walk around Princes Park to grab a coffee (which was good) and couldn't resist picking up some lovely little tarts for a friends birthday treat. They were all yum, but my favourite was the lemon! Will remember next time i need a cake or another treat!

Delicious variety of French-style cakes, tarts, and pastries (both large and small). My favourite is their pear and chocolate tart - though, frankly, everything I've ever bought from there has been excellent. Nice variety of breads, quiches, rolls, and slices (mushroom, spinach), too. Highly recommended.

The ‘Filous Patisserie’ is a pleasant, unpretentious bakery that has genuine character and very reasonably priced products. Why not use it as base for a wander amongst the extensive, densely-packed, dully grey forest of seemingly old and untended tombstones of the Melbourne Cemetery that lay opposite, perhaps munching on a croissant as one does.
