Wow, what an impressive bakery for such a small town. Passing through Heathcote today we stopped at Gaffney’s Bakery at 63 High St Heathcote. The place was absolutely jumping. I spoke to Bek, the shift Supervisor, and mentioned how busy it was when it was my turn to be served; she said things had returned to normal and that they were getting even busier this. This bakery is one you really have to experience for yourself. It’s almost overwhelming with the choice on offer. If BIG is what you are looking for, this is for you. Loved my steak and pepper pie along with my hot chocolate!

I love this place! The pies are incredible, I usually get their standard pies (which are good) but this time I tried their chicken parma pie and I was not disappointed! They also offer family pies to take home and cook yourself

If you're visiting or passing through and don't have covid, you definitely should give this place a go. Very warm atmosphere, spacious and kind of feels like stepping into the mind of Ferguson Plarre. Service is very welcoming and there's even a little gift section for you to wander through. Food is really fresh and delicious.

A huge selection of baked goods and pies, gifts for foodies and even a candy bar for kids! Great coffee too - ours was made by Hudson and it was 10/10 for temperature and flavour. Plenty of indoor seating & clean toilets. Lots of parking available in side/back street. We always stopped at the "old" Gaffneys but the new store is great! Also very much appreciate the clean nappy change and friendly staff - I was breastfeeding my newborn (on the very comfy couches) very close to closing and the staff did not harass to leave at all. Much appreciated by this new mum.

Thank goodness I don't live in Heathcote, my purse would empty and my waistband very tight! The family meat pie was delicious, my grandson had 3 pieces. The donuts, lemon tart (the lemon curd was so light and tasty) and the family apple pie, yum! Will definitely pop in for more next trip through there.

My Father and I were passing through and we stopped At Gaffney’s Bakery to grab something to eat. Possibly the biggest bakery I have seen. The food is good, the service fast and friendly, and there is ample seating both inside and outside. My wife had a sandwich which she enjoyed immensely, and my steak and mushroom pie was good. It could be further improved with thinner pastry and chunkier meat. Others also commented positively about their food.

It seemed popular...the line was about 100 people long! We went to the other bakery down the road instead as we didn't have time to wait. It looks good but very commercialised since they moved to their new location which I think is a shame. I personally prefer less of a factory production line feel.

Definitely a bakery to visit that offers a wide range of pies, pastries, sweets, breads, cakes, coffee, sandwiches and much much more. There is plenty of sitting room for families both indoor and outdoor. Now if you are up for a unique pie, try their Chicken Parma pie! Believe or not! It's actually quite good.

I recently had a work event in Heathcote and ordered some catering from Gaffney's. From ordering, to the delivery to enjoying the food, we could not fault them. The presentation of the food was just perfect and inviting to eat. We had a variety of hot and cold savoury, sweets and fruit and it all was divine. One of the Best Beef Pies you'll ever get to eat, in regional Victoria, made fresh daily and are absolutely amazing. My personal favourite is the "Chunky Steak and Pepper Pie" and "Triple Chilli Braised Beef Pie" (if you love spicy food). Also ask for their housemate ketchup instead of the packed one. I recommend anyone going towards Bendigo, Shepparton, Echuca...take a pit stop to fill your tummies at Gaffney's in Heathcote..

Great service! Triple Chilli pie is as decribed and delicious, Beef and bacon, great and a deep rich gravy to suit,and the Croissant was buttery amd really well toasted. The Pepper pie I felt was well flavoured and spiced but sadly lacked alot on the gravy front (my fav pie type). Nice hedgehog and great cupcakes.The Lemon tart though was hardly that, great pasty but may as well have called it sugar lemon mousse in a tart shell, not a fan. Highly recommend the pies, particularly the gravy based ones, killer flavour and pastry!

This is awesome plus, so much to choose from. I bought pumpkin, spinach and garlic bread, dark eyes and sour dough and apple pie. People queued up quite happily service was quick and friendly. Also lots of local produce. A lady l met who live not far from Heathcote said she stocks up every month with bread( freezes well) and gets presents of cakes and local produce from here.

We passed by Heathcote and my friend told me that Gaffney's Bakery has the best pie in the world. She bet on it but I didn't think it is until I tasted their pie, it was perfect. I thought the bakery close to our house in Melbourne has the best pie but this bakery nailed it. Their coffee was not great but I didn't come there for coffee anyway. The staffs were so busy and it was already 4 in the afternoon, the only bakery I've seen so busy at the time of the day, but despite the staffs were so busy, they managed to smile at their customers which I great. Highly recommended place if you want to stop for a quick bite on your way back to Melbourne from Echuca. I will surely come back to this bakery on our next trip to Moama. They've won 7 times at the National Pie Competition and that's a testament of how delicious their pies are.

This is simply the best bakery I've ever been too and I'd like to think I've been to many. Their custard tarts are enormous and to put it simply, FANTASTIC (Yeah I love a custard tart, so I'm a bit biased). Staff are lovely, the new building is huge and has everything you could ask for. We visit Gaffneys bakery every time we go thru Heathcote and the coffee and custard tarts are amazing ,but we brought some hot cross buns on Saturday thinking that they would be just as delicious for our Easter lunch on Sunday with family . Expecting them too be on par with all the other foods that they sell and paying $9 for them I was very disappointed.. there was no flavour at all and to be honest very bland ...the Safeway hot cross buns that I purchased prior were more tastier, very disappointed 😞

We stopped for lunch on a busy afternoon for Gaffney's. It was our first visit. There was a lot to choose from food-wise and the inside decor and layout is pleasant. The young lady who served us was polite and efficient. I had a chicken focaccia and my partner had a ham and cheese croissant and we shared a small lemon curd tart. They were ok. We haven't tried their pies, so might do so as takeaway another time. We were concerned by the lack of cleaning and disinfecting of tables between patrons, even though there appeared to be a lot of staff about.

I drove 2 hours from Melbourne just to eat their pie and coffee after eating chicken Parma pie and coffee the day before when I visited them on the way on our motorcycle ride. A large variety of Award winning pies. Cakes, coffee, cold drinks. They even have a couple of gluten free pies. Service is fast and friendly. This place is hard to drive past. It is more of a "take away" pie shop & seating is minimal. Across the road is a spacious and shady park so take advantage of it. My stop was an order to take to Melbourne for friends who hated to miss out on the chance someone was driving through Heathcote.. I started out with my true and tried favorites, "the ol' Pepper Stake" and very quickly upgrade to the triple chilli braised beef pie and reached the peek of pie ecstasy. If question it, just do it. Go get it.

Was ok, nothing to write home about but nothing special. Also ordered a custard tart. The tart is very heavy in weight and is a cup of decent depth pastry filled with custard.
