The smell, the taste and when you want something hot and black inside you, this is the place. Coffee, savoury food and the sweetness of pastries. Miko the barista will look after you, the master of the universe.

I tasted half of the wide range of delicious croque monsieur, tarts, pies, sweet pastry and individual cakes. I cannot complain, friendly staff, clean environment and everything is just damn good!

This has been one of the bakeries that I really wanted to visit because I just can’t stop myself from buying stunning desserts! (It’s not just me right?! 😝) and a great way to share these goodies was on a double date with my friends 🥰
My bf and I got the chocolate eclairs 🍫, the chocolate & raspberry cake 🍰, and pain au chocolate croissant 🥐 to go. My friends got the one with the little macarons 🧁 (can’t remember what it’s called). We all also had a cup of latte ☕️
We all enjoyed the desserts and coffee. Not just stunning, they’re also delish! I’m excited to try their other cakes and pastries

Unfortunately disappointed. I asked for extra hot coffee, which was not and brought well before my pastry, which was also unappetizing. And why, oh why, do they think they can improve on French classics like escargot, with icing topping!? Come to think of it, I struggle to find decent honest French and Italian pastry (not those bloated, dry sorry attempts, which are neither croissants nor cornetti, anywhere in Australia.

Actually, I'm not really a dessert person before, also can't even pronounce some product names accurately. But I love everything here~ I love their balanced flavour, not too sweet for me, patient staff make me feel easy to order. Now I pick the store once a week~

I go to Lauren from time to time when I miss and crave French pastries/cakes.
I’m the last couple of years, the quality of their pastry has decreased hugely.
I’ve had their croissants and pain-au-chocolat in the last few weeks, they were quite dry.
Today we bought an apple turnover that was dry and barely had any apple compote inside.
We bought strawberry tarts- the pastry was dry and soggy. They were filled with cream rather than custard.
The staff also didn’t know their product well- though I can excuse that with the current pandemic that is seeing a huge amount of new staff having to be put on the floor quickly.
We bought a few other cakes that overall were delicious. I’ve never been disappointed by their cakes!
The apple turnovers used to be delicious!
I hope they realise how poor the quality of the pastries are and rectify it.
I can’t find another decent apple turnover in Melbourne.

I am visiting my sister in melb. I saw Laurent on uber 3 days ago. I have literally spent $200 there since then. I am a student. The roast veg and fetta tart has me being so financially irresponsible. Really yum.

Have you tried laurent bakery amazing dessert collection. They have a full range of mini desserts, cake, pastries and sandwiches to choose from. It is a perfect outing for breakfast lunch or just for a cup of tea.
Their chocolate crossaint is to die for. We also had the chicken and avocado sandwich and bacon and egg sandwich with in house made baguette.
The mini entremets are crafted delicately and skilfully with each layer delivering optimum flavour.
Check out laurent bakery new store at south Yarra.

what a friendly local tackle shop i went there threee different times just to get the right stuff for my tackle box and every time i also had a croissant. staff were not that friendly but amazing for fishing gear!!! great work 😌

A very nicely decorated café. I ordered a vegetarian sandwich which wasn't that great. The veges were overcooked and mushy and the bread itself was too crispy for my liking. My friend had a cappuccino and she really enjoyed it.

Just had breakfast there. The dessert (raspberrry eclair) was nicecly presented and good.
I don't recommend the mushroom and egg ciabatta... they had warmed the bread but the eggs were still cold and the whole thing did some taste very fresh...
The bread is decent by French standard but the coffee is quite disappointing... for 4.60 aud we expect something of a different level especially in Melbourne.

Medium quality food and coffee but very expensive

Some of the best desserts I have had! This Chocolate mousse was an absolute delight! Friendly service matching with quality desserts and a top notch hot chocolate.

Croissant fail.
For 20 years my wife and I have been buying beautiful soft flaky croissants from Laurent's. Today for the second time in a row, the plain croissant was more like a rolled dough, not flakey, quite heavy by comparison and very second rate for this company. Clearly there is something very wrong with production, because these croissants are an embarrassment. Please go back to your old recipe, it was much better quality and many levels higher in standard. Stop embarrassing France.

The best cafe in South Yarra! Good selection of cakes, good coffee and croissants, very good bread. Nice staff :)

Nice mocha and hot chocolate.
Blackcurrant danish, chocolate croissant, pistachio slice also gooood. The place is so busy but still manageable.
Love it 💕

The food is so good. The chicken, avocado and walnut is a particular favourite, but you can't go wrong with any of the sandwiches. I usually takeaway my lunch but there's ample seating to eat in. Also, the custard donuts are top. Staff are awesome, super friendly and they remember my order

Good latte, very nice cake (Castel)

Very cozy and modern place. Quiet at times, especially after lunchtime. Great variety of French patisserie, always fresh. The staff is very friendly.. Panini with scrambled eggs, bacon and rocket all time favorite following by a freshly as it gets, raspberry donut. Yummy 😋💝

It’s a lovely place considering it is a franchise. Coffee is ok and cakes are delicious.
The only negative is when it is busy staff seems to stress and tables are left dirty for a long time.
You won’t find South Yarra hipsters in this place.

I like consistency so I appreciate the various Laurent outlets, however their portion sizes shrunk last year and I have found it hard to go back. That said if you are after a small portion then this is the place for you as their bread is of a high quality and the taste never lets you down.

Generally good service. The coffee is generally above average. Plain bread is cheap but sweet and sandwich prices are a bit higher than in the same area.

The croissants are magnificent! Ham cheese & tomato are on point🥐👌🏼 the coffee is also top notch. ☕👌🏿

Coffee was good, it was a public holiday too. The cake here looks way better than the place down the road.

Attentive and friendly staff. Comfortable and relaxing ambience where you place your order and not get hassled or feel like you have to leave quickly.

Tried few times. Nice coffee, cakes and sandwiches but felt a bit overpriced for the taste.

Beautiful cappuccino and tarts/pastries. Really nice place to escape with a coffee and few papers.
