Went here for breakfast with my wife. Short version: amazing, absolutely must try here. Long version: i picked the Oi Vey option for the bagel which is pulled pork, tonkatsu sauce, some salad toppings, the flavour i cant even describe it is so good, its something you need to experience. My wife had Miso Schmicks and really enjoyed it as well. The wait time is very low for the meals to come out so i was very impressed, definitely will be coming back again becayse it hit the spot so good. Bagel definitely 11/10, it was off the chain.

WOW!!! An extremely generous bagel at the most reasonable price. The atmosphere of the workers feels like family and I love that they play pop bangers on the speaker so I can sing along whilst eating. Tastiest bagels in Melbourne. I had the Salt'n'Sauer, the filling was the perfect amount that you get to appreciate all the flavours. Not like some over the top bagels where you take a bite and everything falls out. My partner had the Luv u Lox, as always the perfect combination of salmon, cream cheese and capers will leave you impressed. Both served on rye bagles.

We had an amazing breakfast on the last day before coming back to Sydney. Food was amazing and coffee was great. Above all, the staff’s hospitality truly stands out. We had a big group ordering and one hot chocolate was missing. The staff was very apologetic after they were made aware of the situation and kindly offered us a complimentary drink. Overall, we had a very lovely time.

Absolutely legit bagel place right in the Melbourne CBD. You can get your bagels plain, breakfast, sweet or even some more specialty varieties. We had the classic lox and pastrami. The former featuring some delicious cream cheese, smoked salmon, cress and pickled red onion. Nostalgic flavours reminiscent of our time walking the streets of New York. The latter was a pastrami with mustard, pickles and cheese. It was so good, thinly slice and oh so smokey pastrami was actually really good. We customised ours with a double serve which was definitely the right move. Highly recommend this place for your bagel fix.

There's a great range of bagels at this place and I highly recommend coming here. I'm a big fan of bagels and love how they're becoming so popular. As a result lots of places are serving bagels which is great to see. However, there is one problem with this abundance of bagels since that lots of places (certain cafes) can serve really bad bagels that aren't well made, or they're filled with poorly chosen fillings. But thankfully, this isn't the case here. This place is like a bagel subway but with actually amazing food. If you've never had good bagels before, then you have to come to Schmucks. I love the sweet bagels on offer and enjoyed having a choice between a variety of tasty looking options. It's good to see places like this and you should give it a go!

Went twice in two days! This place has lost some of its charm in the service quality over the years, but the bagels are still enormously tasty. Can’t go past the seeded bagel with cream cheese, so simple and so much flavour. The blueberry bagel with jam and peanut butter (PB&J) was a let down. Jam was flavorless and sugary, very thinly spread, two much peanut butter meant the blueberry bagel taste got lost.

Nice hidden place off Williams Street. Pretty quiet on a Sunday morning, which is nice because you get to slowly enjoy your food without being in a noisy environment. Had the sausage and egg breakfast bagel, which was rather tasty, although my flat white tasted average. Otherwise, pretty good service and nice cosy ambiance.

As a person with gluten intolerance, I cannot express how good Schmuck’s Bagels are. I have had several different toppings and they’re all delicious! The gluten free bagels are soft and fresh - possibly the best gluten free bread product I’ve ever had (you know how usually GF bread seems a bit dry and stale - it’s not like that at all!). The bagels are always warm and fresh, and have been packed and delivered with care throughout the lockdown period. I’m so impressed. Honestly, 6/5 stars. You guys are amazing, keep up the incredible work.

Best bagel joint in town hands down. I had been really craving for a good quality bagel and found what I wanted at Schmucks. The variety and quality of the products that they use is A+. Even something as simple as the avocado bagel is just delicious, and the touch of the home pickle on the side makes it that much better. Coffee is also very good.

This is the place to be, if you want delicious bagels! Varieties for non-vegetarians. Just two options for vegetarians though; Avo our way with Avacado and capers and Hippie Slicer with hummus roasted cauliflower, tomato and lemon. I've tried both of the vegetarian and both are delicious. I love the setting of the cafe, and the staffs are really friendly. Definitely worth a try if you're a bagel-fanatic.

Really gorgeous hidden away cafe. I live in the area, which heavily caters to business folk so really appreciated that this was open on the weekend. The staff were friendly, they had vegan options, and the coffee was really good. My partner and I had the Avo Our Way and PB & J bagels - both delicious. There isn't a huge amount of seating (which I like) but I did notice that those who chose to sit outside were able to wrap themselves in blankets provided, which was a nice touch.

I should have asked how 'gluten free' the GF bagel is, but I don't think it's safe for coeliacs because I had a rough day the next day. These bagels: have a good crumb, excellent crust, and nice seed coverage. The shape is a bit flat, but doesn't affect flavor. The plain cream cheese is a bit creamier/butterier than is standard.

I was born in upstate New York and my partner is from Canada, having spent a lot of time in Montreal. We like bagels. We come from bagel places. We decided to try it and I couldn't be happier. These were some legit bagels, the best I've had in Australia. Do it. Get some bagels.

I didn’t like the 2010 Steve Carell & Paul Rudd movie Dinner For Schmucks. However, breakfast from Schmucks is on my all time top ten!! Great bagels, everything made quickly, hardly ever closed and just a staple of city life. As I live in the city I’m surrounded by choice and can walk past 2-3 other places selling bagels on the way to Schmucks but I’m not tempted by those other bakers... no sir. P.S. also good coffee.

I'd been wanting to try this place for lunch for ages and finally found myself up that end of town with some time to spare for a late lunch. Bagel and filling (vegetarian cauliflower combo) were both delicious. Coffee was atrocious though. Also a shame that majority of seating inside taken up by food delivery bags (and given cold wet day out not much room to feel comfortable inside). Would return for takeaway bagel but that's about all.

The coffee and bagels used to be really good. Unfortunately for a little while now, it has slowly been going downhill. The two original girls that worked there were fantastic. Now the service is much slower and the fillings are becoming smaller. It is a shame, as in the beginning it was great.
