Comments of Hokkaido Baked Cheese Tart
S. A.
My husband and i love coffee buns, and after papparoti closed down in Sydney, this is our favourite place! I come specifically to the city just to gobble up these buns. Soooo good!
B. M.
It’s a small stall located in world square basement, right behind the escalators that’s opposite to Coles.
I have tried all of their tarts / puffs. They are perfectly baked and quite fresh (I think never older than an hour). They bake limited quantities at a time (i guess to keep it fresh) and on several occasions I have got tarts / puffs hot out of the oven.
I personally like all of their flavours and for me they are perfect treat after lunch.
Customer service is quite good too, I usually just buy a tart or a puff after lunch and the lovely ladies always offer me to put that in a bag for me but I am the one who requests them to please hand it over in a serviette and I’ll be alright.

I really really expensive cheese tart Place. They're not bad although it really feels like it's a tourist trap. They are really not a lot different from other ones in the city.

Loved loved loved their original cheese tart!
I absolutely loved their coffee chocolate puff. Dark chocolate and coffee with a custard filling. Absolute bliss. The prices are fair and worth. I’m not sure if they have a lot of options, but if you go in the evening, more than half of the place runs out on the products. If you want variety, I recommend visiting in the morning or by midday.

Small shop located under the escalators opposite to Coles.
Fresh pastries, tarts and puffs.
Not a big range of flavours to pick from, but the taste was pretty good and they also had a good consistency.
We bought two strawberry tarts, quite delicious.

Yum!!!!!!!!!!!!
There is no other word for it. Warm soft centered cheese tart with flaky pastry shell.
If you are on a diet, maybe prep yourself with a 1 hour jog before you go. So worth it!
K. O.
I like the Cheese tart here very cheesy, creamy with nice crusty tart. The orginal cheese tart and Yuzu cheese tart are my favourite.
H. N.
I bought the cake in here because I think it’s a famous cheesecake but when I taste it , the cake is normal not fantastic.
J. P.
True to The Japanese island of Hokkaido, these tarts taste as good as most I've had in Japan. If you like sweet creamy baked tarts your tummy will love you ( even if your wallet doesn't ).
A. C.
Cheese tart generally tastes really good.
The bread tart is somewhat too hard then the cheese cream filling is too soft and fragile.
I still prefer Uncle tetsu's cheese tart.
V. K.
The original Cheese tart is very yummy. Looking forward to try the salted egg puff next time.
A. P.
Just like a pop up shop on the way! The tarts were delicious 🤤 and very well prepared!
R. F.
great quality and really fresh. It's a bit pricey, but I think that's fair considering the rent rate in Australia, also other cafe are not way cheaper. I really recommend people to start their day with one of their cheese cakes
R. H.
Damn good puff pastry. So flaky yet so soft. The custard feeling was warm and oozing nicely. Will try the strawberry one next time.

Location is inside the world square lower ground. Just a kiosk shop. I like their different cheesecake varieties. Recommended to try all.
W. K.
Creamy cheesy tarts, best enjoyed warm. Quite nice but a bit too rich in taste. Located next to the Coles in World Square.
S. Z.
I like the cheese tart. Delicious and fresh.
C. L.
I tried the original, strawberry and salted caramel and they are all delicious. It is such a flavour bomb, the pastry is to die for. Definitely coming back for more!!!!
V. 0.
I like the cheese tart. Mix between salty (cheese) and sweet (shortcrust pastry). The cheese melted in your mouth.
A. M.
Tarts of almost all flavours from $4.20 a tart with delicious shortbread pastry. Freshly baked in the premises. Very friendly staff serving here with a welcoming smile. They offer loyalty programs. Very fast and friendly service, take-out only but you can find somewhere to sit as this is inside World Square shopping centre.

What is possibly wrong with delicious, creamy and sweet little baked cheese tarts?
Nothing.
I absolutely love the Hokkaido tarts with their tasty flaky pastry and ultra creamy delicious filling. If you enjoy cheesecake, or cheese, or just dessert in general then I highly recommend getting your hands on one of these!
M. Z. (.
salted egg tastes good
$4.2 each one
B. Q.
Delicious and what a joy a tart can bring (especially when eaten warm on a cold winter’s day!). This take away outlet always has freshly baked tarts and service is fast, efficient and friendly.
L. T.
Would recommend their cheese tarts more than the cheese cakes.
Their cheese tarts have soft creamy cheese, strong but not to sickening which makes me keep going back once a while.
Because of the cheese in the cheese tarts are nice I then purchased a cheesecake. However, the cheesecake just tasted like a sponge cake, without a strong cheese flavour, which is quite disappointing.
It is also quite expensive.
M. L.
I absolutely love the coffee puffs, delicious, but my God, please for the love of God, give your staff some training.
The male packs food slower than a sloth and today one of the girls served me with her mask around her neck and when I asked her to put it on properly she did but then used the same glove to touch my food as she used to touch her mask. What a lack of self awareness and hygiene!!! I can't believe this kind of person is allowed to work around food during a pandemic!!!
If you would replace all the staff I'd feel safer because surely the ones you already have, have been trained and this is the results...

(This review is for PAFU) I was hesitant to try these at first as I thought the price was quite steep and I'm not the biggest fan of pastries or apple pies. However, the friend I was with at the time who recommended it to me and said "they only sell one product in their store" and I thought if they only sell one product, they must be good enough to do well. Thus, I proceeded to try it and it did not disappoint! It was served warm and the apple pie was complemented with warm custard which just took it to the next level. It was amazing and I have recommended to my friends since. However, I did once encounter a soggy one but the fact that I went at night might've been the reason why as it probably lost its freshness. Nonetheless, when they are fresh, they are amazing!

The cheese tart is usually good. The service is not that great :( the packaging is not that great if you buy less than 6 and not very easy carry. Today I bought the classic cheese tart and I believe it was underdone so the moment I held it it fell apart. Went back the staff didn't bother exchanging it or anything and insisted that it's the normal consistency.
Not sure if would come back here again.

Came across this place when I went to Coles at the world square shopping centre and omg, they taste amazing. Line can be big some times but it's seriously worth the wait!
L. B.
The shortcrust pastry is quite thick, so you're kinda getting an extra cookie. The custard is a bit more tart than usual (there's a strong distinction between the sweet crust and the tart filling). Excellent consistency, but we like the flavour of Uncle Tetsu's better.
M. C.
Love their tarts. They’re sweet and creamy. And the size is just perfect for afternoon tea.
M. S.
Tried the regular and chocolate tarts and both were outstanding. Creamy inside and a nice soft crust with tons of flavour.
o. 0.
That cheesy tarts are veri delicious but it's also expensive.
b. b.
Their strawberry cheese tart is THE BEST! The consistency of the tart is so creamy and good. The tart falls apart easily though so you should be careful when eating it. Amazing taste!!
W. W.
Very delicious creamy cheese tart
C. N.
Good tarts. Nice, crispy biscuit base. Generic, unnoteworthy filling. Inconsistient appearance and quality. Does not compare to combini store cheese tarts from Hokkaido.
Tarts pair well with the service which is also faux Japanese.
Vendor ruined the experience, otherwise a fine takeaway pastry stand.
김.
Tasty was totally nice but price was quite expensive and this shop didn't care about a person who purchases a small quantity of cheese tarts approximately 1~3. Due to a small plastic bag, I experienced an unpleasant happening but I don't think it is very worthy to buy over 4 cheese tarts for getting a box.
J. C.
Best cheese tarts in Sydney. Creamy cheese and a scrumptious crust. Best fresh out of the oven but also great chilled. I equally enjoy the original flavour and chocolate flavour.
Y.
Pricey but yummy. The crust was sweet and tasty.
R. A.
First time trying the cheese tarts and they taste amazing amazing. Looking forward to have them again.
C. J. D. L.
Love the Pafu matcha flavor!
J. B.
It's a perfect treat when you're feeling like something sweet so buy one of each, you will not regret it.
R. B.
So good... They do Blueberry & Strawberry tarts now too!
S. R.
Is this really from Hokkaido? Who knows! Interesting texture it's like thick cheese gravy and I like it! The crust was nice, not too thick but once I took it out of its aluminium cup it started to fall apart! Can't have too many,I don't think my stomach could handle more than 2
S. C.
Delicious cheese tarts. Like them when they're chilled and the cheese filling is a bit more dense.
R. H.
Good food super tastie a must visit place
C. D. (.
First off this is a comparison between Uncle Tetsu's cheese tart and Hokkaido. Pastry was thiner and a hell of a lot dryer. However the cheese is creamier with a larger amount of salt so it had a very savoury taste. In terms of cheesyness Uncle Tetsu's beats this hands down as this lacked the natural sourness of cheese and was more like a wetter cheese cream flavour.
A. N.
My family love the original tarts and chocolate tarts. Not that expensive anyway
s. 1.
Delicious but a bit expensive tarts. Would be nice if they open the store earlier; I think heaps of people would drop by to grab a tart and a cup of coffee on the way to work
A. P.
Loved it so much I went twice in the same week. The base was crisp, the filling was warm and gooey and not overly sweet. Unbeatable combination!
A. H.
They have the loveliest cheese tarts and they waiting times are almost non-existent. Slightly pricey but it's worth trying out once in your lifetime.
M. W.
Very yummy tarts, especially the salted egg flavour, and the coffee pan is great too! :)
C. C.
Some of the best cheese tarts, especially from a franchise. Try and get them when they're still warm, so much better then!
T. C.
Cheese tarts were good, i like them better hot and these were definitely cold but definitely worth a visit if you like cheese tarts
P.
This place is a must. Not only were we treated to fresh cheese tarts, but the staff were friendly and their serving system keeps the line moving. Good Stuff
A. Q.
Love love the Original Baked Cheese tarts so yummy!
A. J.
I've intro'd Hokkaido to all my friends, its amazing, but please open up another store elsewhere so I don't have to commute all the way to the city every time.
N. D.
I prefer this over the testuo cheese tarts. These tarts are more together, more cheesier, and creamy - rather than egg tart-y. Recommended.
B. l.
So much better then Uncle Tetsu. Like a mix between a Japanese cheese cake and a Portuguese tarte. Very cheese and creamy yum!
T. M.
Really good. The fresh cheese tarts and apple puffs are the best of the lot
J. C.
Tastes like heaven! Shortbread base filled with an oozy, creamy cheese center 😫 Uhhhhhh what’s not to love?!
O. S.
Their tarts were good but their customer service was very disappointing.
This is not a Japanese shop. Don’t expect any good customer service.
S. P.
They are truly to die for nice and gooi on the inside they open till late love getting a box of 6 on the way home from work staff have always been friendly and polite
A. B.
These cheese tarts are amazing: the creamiest thing you'll ever try.
L. L.
Its okay
A. X.
Really sweets tarts. Bought to try. It's ok but not like have to buy.
W. C.
It smells great, just not my kinda cheese cake
B. H.
Cheese tests aren't as good as Uncle Tetsu's in my opinion, but your mileage may vary.
C. C.
It is a little bit overpriced for a tart, but, this is delicious enough to make you paid for without any hesitation.
J. G.
Super nice
R.
I don’t like the taste, it’s warm sweet cheese. Its like eating warm sweet cheese.
W. H.
Not cheap and not bad, like the coffee bun. Fluffy and light
J. R.
Fresh and delicious cheese tarts. Will going back here soon.
L. G.
