Mean feed! Pepper steak pie was incredible and the sausage roll wasn’t far behind it. The bloke that owns/manages the place was friendly and knew were customers were in line. If you’re coming through or stopping by Murrurundi (spelling?) then make sure you stop at Life of Pie for a mean feed. I say it again, mean feed!

Best pies I've ever tasted. I have travelled past many times and never stopped. That's going to change. I will definitely call in every time from now on and can't wait to try some different flavours. Sausage roll was great as well. Friendly welcoming staff. Parking for caravans only a short walk away on both sides of road which is great.

Having driven past Life of Pie many times outside of business hours I finally got to pop in after getting away early. One of the best pies I have ever had. Pastry was perfect and the meat was beautiful. Grabbed a slice as well and it was fantastic. A stop here is a must on your way through.

I truly loved the top notch friendly and very professional service I received from Brett. Best coffee and if you like your pies, then this is a must-visit! The steak and mushroom pie is the star, the pastry is superb. First to last bite was amazing.

I've been here a few times over the last year or two, usually as I was passing through town. I think the first time I stopped was because the name caught my attention. What a great name and very fitting. There are a million bakeries and they all say that they make the best pies. Life of Pie make no such claims but they make damn good pies and they are consistently good. Never had a bad pie here. The pastry is top notch, not chewy or flakey, but buttery and holds its shape really well. The filling was rich, thick and plenty of beef present. The staff are always very friendly and the sweets shouldn't be overlooked as well. Next time you are driving through, try a pie, I don't think you'll be disappointed.

I was on my way to Tamworth and I called in at Murrurundi and stopped off at the life of pie bakery I got a pie and a sausage roll The pie was nice but the sausage roll was really really really nice so if you’re going through Murrurundi and see the sign life of pie stop and grab yourself something to eat I would recommend the sausage rolls but there was a lot of other little knickknacks in there as well if you do get a sausage roll I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did from MWH I was originally going to give them four stars but after being served by the staff and treated so nicely which is hard to find these days when you go into some shops so I give them five stars I really do appreciate good customer service so to the staff I thank you from MWH

I would like to say that the ladies that work there are fantastic, friendly and ok with constructive feedback. It was their first attempt at making an almond piccolo...and altho they split the milk initially...when I politely told them it tasted pretty wrong...they delightfully had another go and it was perfect

Who doesn't love a pie. What a great little spot on a busy highway. Don't drive past, stop say hello grab a bite to eat and a drink. It is well worth the time. Try the chilli beef pie.

This is a wonderful place to stop, rest, and have something to eat and drink. The pies are marvellous and the coffee well above average. The staff are friendly and helpful and ready to advise on the local area sights. We have stopped here several times and the welcome and friendly service together with very fine food makes us return whenever we pass through. There is nothing to suggest any improvements as all is just right. We strongly recommend it.

OMG! I got a Steak Diane pie & tasted absolutely delicious even though it cost about $5 but so worth it ?next time I'm up this way I'll be going back to get another pie so if your passing through Murrurundi call into the LIFE IS PIE ?.😋🥧🤤🥧

Great coffee - perfect for warming up on chilly Upper Hunter mornings. Nice selection of fresh baked savoury and sweet goodies. I much enjoyed the cherry slice: chocolate biscuit crumb, sweet cherry/coconut filling and rich, dark chocolate coating.

This is an amazing pie shop and Sally behind the counter takes it to a new level, she is personality plus. They also have the smartest, cleanest toilets I have ever seen in a pie shop. I had the vegetable moray pie and it absolutely hit the mark.

Lovely selection of pies. I tried the steak and mushroom pie, curry chicken and vegetable pie, and apple pie. My personal favorite was the curry chicken and vegetable pie, it was creamy and flavorful. Both the steak and the apple pie were done well. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit and highly recommend stopping by Life of Pie. Also, fantastic customer service by the cheerful ladies.

After doing the relatively short burning mountain walk, we 'earned' a couple of delicious pies from this place. Of course being gluttons, we also had pecan pie and some other dessert to really stuff ourselves. A great place to stop on the way through town.

By far the BEST pie I have ever had - so crispy yet light and perfect temp to consume right away. The vanilla slice was absolutely heaven and the owner was so friendly and welcoming. Definitely a must visit if you're nearby. Will make your road trip!!

Just your average lie shop and average coffee. Pie flavours were the stock standard like pepper steak (good strong flavour but thick pastry), Dianne, curry mince, curry vegetable, cheese and bacon, and sausage rolls. The sausage rolls were below average as they were only sausage mince, no additions eg carrot, onion, seasoning.

Great pies that are to-the-point! Enjoyed a curry pie and it was great with a side of appropriate nose-tingling, the chicken pie was also tasty and felt like a warm chicken soup hug. Also, great concept with the Life of Pi reference and tiger!

I heard it's a good shop, but it turned out to be even better than I expected. It's actually a very lovely bakery/pie shop. New and modern inside, indoor and outdoor seating. Steak Dianne pie was delicious, and Vanilla Slice was straight from heaven! Too bad they are too far from where I live. I would not mind eating at shop like that few times a week. Well done, guys!

Great coffee! Nice pies, bread, slice and tarts. A well stocked fridge with soft drinks, juice, milk etc. There are tables and chairs or you can take it away. Very friendly owners, ready for a chat when things are a bit quiet. I'm lucky enough to live in town and can grab a coffee and a bite to eat anytime, but would make a great stop or place to grab and run.

We stumbled upon this brightly coloured pie shop on our way to Tamworth last week. It was nearing 4pm, we walked in and the pie cabinet was nearly empty - aside from 2 down the bottom. The owner said they had imperfections as they were the ones that got bumped coming out of the oven and was just going to save them for his kids about to get off the school bus. But he gave them to us instead! Stoked! We felt a lil bad that the kiddies wouldn't get their after school snack, I remember how I loved an after school snack... though we were starving and the guilt quickly vanished. !! Also he didn't want our money!.. so generous, what a great bloke. He asked us not to judge him on these as they weren't presented how he would of liked, but we did and they were bloody delish and stayed in form long enough for us to gobble them up. Curry pie 👌🏼👌🏼
