Comments of Lüneburger German Bakery
M. E.
Always had our quick breakfast and coffee here on weekends. Location inside QVB lower ground level, George Street, Sydney NSW 2000
S. G.
Awesome bakery. Had coffee and veggie triangle from there. Both were awesome.
K. V. G.
We picked this place to have a sweet treat because they actually had chairs to sit on. After shopping we needed a pick me up, we enjoyed our bakery sweets. Such lovely choices to choose from, and other things we'd like to come back and try. Fast and Friendly service. Very clean.
Q. F.
It is on the Town Hall station level, walking 50m north from the station, under the QVB.
Very easy to find due to a magnificent large bright sign!
It is a cafe offering light savoury rolls and many delicacies with your choice of tea, coffee and drinks.
One can take-out, or sit at their little round cafe-style tables.
C. F.
Sometimes I have salted pretzels cheese snail from here with my friends. I find them a bit chewy, more like industrial food instead of fresh. But it’s ok when you are hungry.
Even croissants are not the best but sandwiches are good.
M. V.
I always walk past this place and I never bothered to try any of their food because it’s hidden underneath the qvb building. I’m so glad I decided to try them because not only were they cheap but they were delicious and healthy. This is my new found favourite place in Sydney! I’m so happy you guys exist
A.
Coffee, is amazing! I alternate between Soy/Almond Mocha, and both are good, the blend of coffee is strong - definitely it will hit the spot. Also, a fresh flaky pastry is a must the smell is amazing!!! My favs the Butter Croissant and Hazelnut Croissant
R. E. c.
This is certainly near enough to Germany art of pastry and breads and the service is friendly and fast hear also so you won’t wait long even though busy .
They have a page section of traditional breads and desserts and plenty of space to sit and enjoy if your coming by train and on your way out of terminal take a left where the tunnel splits and you will be there in less than a minute
F. J.
Berlin pretzels are divine; coffee the same, and service engagingly personal.
Q. L.
You can't pass through the QVB without stopping by this place! I'm a donut lover and their jam berliners are my absolute favourite.
Every single pastries are fresh and OMGoodness!!!
If you enjoy your hot beverages, whether you get served by Devin, Kim or Alex... they are consistently good coffees or hot chocolates.
It's the place to go for the good service and the friendliest baristas in town - love them!
T. A.
Delicious bread at good prices at every time of the day. The staff are always very kind and efficient.
L.
I was really excited for this pretzel doughnut. I've walked by it so many times, then I finally tried it.. And it was quite disappointing. I would give it 2 stars, but the service here is great. I tried another pastry here too another time, and it was also quite average.
정.
It was too cold to eat . Apple one was good . Cheese snail was too hard too salty today. But I like apple triangle. Good . It is good location in QVB via townhall station.
K. P.
I love their pretzels and poppyseeds crumble. So yummy. Unfortunately, I’m not a big fun of their rolls.
M. B. V.
Delicious pastry and very nice coffee ☕
Excellent customer service 👏
P. S.
Excellent sandwiches and savoury and sweet German pastry’s. Great little spot, with delicious coffee and nibbles. Very fresh
J. G.
Hands down the BEST chocolate muffin in the world....delicious chunky chocolate and a gooey Nutella centre ❤️❤️
M. B.
Great Service, food and coffee all at that awesome restored Queen Victoria Building near Sydney's Town Hall Station.
R. O.
Great sandwiches, always fresh and tasty.
d. s.
5 star place. Best for catching quick bites for brekkie lunch or dinner. Their cinnamon pretzel is on point and sl are the brownies.
J. A.
Great for your little taste of Germany in Sydney. Get your bagels and breads
A. J. T.
Great bread. I love their lye rolls. Yum.
J. Y.
The hard crust bread was really hard. Too hard!
But the pastry is really good.
M. P.
The bagels are a steal...a god dam steal I tells ya. Take these five stars as proper compensation.
A. S.
Very tasty butter croissant . A first for chocolate cherry crumble dry but that's why I have coffee:)
L. S.
Warmest coffee people in Sydney. Staff behind the coffee machine always start my day with a morning smile.
D. H.
Beat little shop. Great coffee....use the best alternative milks...barista very happy and affable. Nice selection of cakes...the bienenstich (beesting) was lovely!!
I. H.
Not only do they sell delicious German pretzels, but the guy behind the coffee machine is pretty delicious too!
G. F.
Freshly baked and tasty, large variety of treats. different to the usual fare in city bakeries, delicious rolls with turkey, ham, salami and other fillings. Sell coffee too. Seating at tables. Handy location. Town hall station and QVB.
K. M.
I usually don't like dessert and am very critical of serves that sell pastries and sandwiches.
But I have to say, both here are incredible. The pastries are soft ( try their cherry strudels and cinnamon pretzels), tasty, they melt in your mouth and are worth every single bite. The flavours come very well together.
The sandwiches are made fresh and have the right amount of filling in them.
Coffees are perfect too, they're not bitter (they are on the sweeter side if you like bitter coffee though) and go so well with their pastries.
All in all, friendly staff and amazing food!
C. G.
Don’t usually care enough to review a cafe/shop but the service today from both sales assistants was beyond the norm - delightful. Smiles, engaging small talk and authentic customer service.
Not just great food/coffee but made me feel great for the rest of the day!
S. T.
The unsalted pretzels here are delicious. They create an amazing selection of breads, sandwiches and pastries. The prices are very reasonable. We stop here for a coffee and a pretzel when we are shopping in the city. The staff are friendly and provide excellent customer service. Worth a looksee.
J. M. B.
Excellent pastries the best bakery ever.
강.
Just like the way i like :) 2 tomato slices, 2 cucumber slices, right amount of filling. Their desserts are so good. Sweet and delicious. Right quality at adequate price. Loved it.
But, the venue is really crowded and noisy. Good to feed oneself, not good to visit with two.
s. M.
Being a bit of a coffee snob, I wouldn't normally buy my coffee from a bakery - but one night after a hard day, I grabbed one before hopping on my train home. I now go there every day... I can't comment on the food - never tried it! But the coffee... they know what they're doing and it's always good. Service is lovely too.
M. C.
This has been around for a number of years but is still delivering consistently good pastries.
I used to love the apple turnover which had a sugar crust but looks like they have discontinued that. My current favourite is the spinach and feta pastry.
Great for breakfast.
Coffee here is pretty milky so not a big fan of that.
C. Z.
I stop by this lovely bakery to grab my croissant and latte every morning. Alex, Kim and Devin know my favorite coffee type without me even saying it. After I grab my croissant, my coffee is always waiting for me. It now becomes my daily routine to order at this bakery and have a little chat with its staff😊 before I go to my office.
J. G.
Great pastries and coffee. However the person serving was unpleasant and appeared bored. 4 star food with 2 star service
E. B.
It’s a really authentic german bakery and I often stop their on my way to work. They have some nice sandwiches and a big choice of products as well. My favorite is definitely the salmon lyestick!
Especially the coffee is cheap and good taste. Look and see!
C. R.
The German bakery at Central Station and Queen Victoria Building are definitely worth a visit. The staff is very friendly and the fact that they’re german makes it more authentic. I really enjoy the variety of fresh baked pastries and breads.
T. T.
From the crunchy croissant and very cheap soy coffee. Love the variety of croissant. My favourite is the hasellnut croissant and chocs croissant. The bread is very fresh, you can tell by watching them bringing out the bread from the oven every couple of minutes.
The way they serve is very fast making sure people not waiting to long. I always buy coffee and croissant in the morning before work and very happy with the way they serve the customer.
R. G.
Wonderful and friendly service. Love the smell of their fresh pastries every morning. They are as delicious as they look!
L. M.
I‘m totally satisfied with this bakery. The staff is friendly, the service is excellent and the food is delicious. In my opinion there is nothing to be improved. I can only recommend.
I love this place !!
L. C.
The bread here is delicious and freshly made every day. Each day they have little rolls with an assortment of fillings, Ham, cheese, Pastrami, it changes everyday so it's nice to get a little surprise. Very reasonably priced as well.
M. C.
Fantastic pastries and sandwiches! The coffees are spetacular, i live in the south of Sydney but go to the city very often, i passed by it so many times but never stopped because its always sooo busy. But this time since i had a little more time in my hands so got in line and bought a few pastries and an egg ham sandwich and it was to die for! and my flat white coffee was just perfect! Compliments to the barista. Will definitely be stopping by from now on no matter how busy that place is! Love it!
J. S.
The German Bakeries on George Street as well as at Central Station and a few other places are definitively worth a visit. 90% of the staff is actually German (so you can practise your language skills when ordering). The breadloafs and bread rolls/ sandwiches on offer are a bit overpriced but absolutely delicious and of high quality. The pretzels are a nice for a snack but don't buy them in the afternoon as they aren't as fresh anymore. Pastries are good and everything on offer is pretty authentic stuff.
H. C.
I can only recommend this bakery. The staff is very friendly and their sandwiches are awesome. Even the coffee is good. The best thing about it that it’s not expensive at all.
K. K.
Coffee is not very good. But they have a great selection of bread products, from pretzels to pastries to rolls. You can also grab a $4 roll with ham and cheese or salami or chicken etc which is a great snack or light lunch.
O. M.
Yummy pretzel and very cheap
H. N.
Great German bakery in the underground's of Sydney. Large range of breads and delicious pretzels. They do get busy and can sell out. So would suggest hitting them up early.
N.
Great Pretzel and amazing bread especially the one with seeds. Coffee is good. All at a reasonable price. Always nice to have something from this place expecially during happy hour. :)
P. G.
Good food but needs better supervision. Non diners eat their own food at tables and genuine diners turn away because of no tables available. You lose customers and money, especially during holidays. Twuce i have pointed it out to staff who say they have no authority to act.
H. O.
Best soft pretzels I've found in Sydney (actually, in all of Australia). Healthy-looking sandwiches made with yummy breadrolls (seeded or not) which are also available separately. Smiling young staff, usually German girls, to greet you in the morning as you stumble off the train toward your cubicle in a building down the street from Town Hall Station. I haven't tried their coffee, but that seems popular as well.
J. S.
Number one sandwich shop when I'm on the hop in the CBD or Macquarie Shopping Centre. Great for a cake and coffee too
S. E.
Lüneburger's is where I go when I want to treat myself and my family with something special. Their bread rolls are just like I know them from Germany, very often fresh from the oven and still warm, and their flame baked bread has the most delicious smell and flavour! I also love the variety of their pastries, there is always something new to explore. Danube Waves is my favourite cake of all time and they nail it. The spinach pastry is great for a mid-morning snack, and the cherry crumble is also very good. Staff is friendly and efficient, so don't shy away from the long queue. I hope they will open up more locations around Sydney. If they were to open up in my neighbourhood I would be in heaven and have fresh bread rolls every morning.
A. K.
I love the range of products. All baked goods are fresh and especially the coffee taste great. The prices from the Lüneburger bakery are excellent!
S. F.
Put a order in for an Oktoberfest party - ordered strudels, berliners (jam donuts) and spinach strudels. The staff went above and beyond to ensure our order was perfect (we requested the strudels to be cut in half) and upgraded us to the larger size berliners at no extra cost. Very happy with our order and would definitely recommend!!
They take card (unlike another German bakery franchise) so this suited us much better than being forced to pay cash.
S. 1.
Ordered 25 Pretzels here to bring to the office on the last day of an internship. Very friendly service, everything worked out perfectly and most importantly - terrific pretzels. Can highly recommend
R. H.
Awesome German bakery. Always swing by this place in the morning on my way to work. In the evening around 6-ish, they will have 50% off everything. Don't miss out.
J. B.
Just FYI they don't open until 6:30am even though it says 6am. Some pastries are nice and I buy often, but their service is not always great. I stopped by just after 6am and asked if they are opening, one guy just said that the times on the internet are wrong and he already has to get up too early. It also says they work Sundays but they don't.
J. K.
There's a reason this place is frequented by homesick Germans craving a Berliner or Broetchen from back home. Staffed by Germans, the bread is fantastic. If you want anything more authentic, you'll have to book a long flight.
S. S.
Got a freshly baked Rye bread... it made my day. Couldn't resist and got a yummy marzipan croissant too. It was a difficult decision between all the great looking cakes.
M. G.
Great coffee, great food and even better staff. Thanks for the delicious coffee.
S.
Great coffee, fantastic service completely changed my way of eating sandwiches
Highly recommend
C. Z.
Yummy pretzels and bread rolls! I am grateful for a German bakery in a convenient CBD location. I would not necessary recommend to grab a coffee at Lüneburger since there are quite a few nicer coffee options in the QVB but for a snack on the go a Lüneberger pretzel is just perfect!
L. T.
The Lüneburger german bakery is always a good choice for a quick lunch break. The whole range of sandwiches and pastries are incredible. I love this german stuff!
O. J. D.
There's nothing like the smell of freshly baked German bread wafting it's way through as you exit Town hall station. Even better us when you bite into your seeded bun with beef pastrami and your first sip of soy flat white of the morning (all together $8.50).
L. Q.
Very consistent from the 5 visits I have made. Pastry crispiness from the veggie corner, spinach strudel and cheese pretzel are my favourite.
N. H.
You'll smell the store before you see it, and unlike most shops that's a good thing!
i. h.
If you are looking for some good bread the Lüneburger bakery is the right address. Also try some of their sweet stuff it’s amazing.
S. W.
Love this bakery and the girls working there. Definitely visit when you are in Sydney. Conveniently located inside Queen Victoria building, just coming straight out of Town Hall terminal!
c.
wondeful sandwiches and friendly staff. nice exprence
N. T.
Must try bread, very warm & nice pretzel especially cheese one.
Friendly staff and covenient place to grab a quick bite.
s. a.
Busy but the men who makes coffee always smile and so nice I think he is young and owner the quality of pastry is amazing and the sandwich so fresh and nice I love the seede with pesto and turky sandwich and cherry sour pastry is amazing I love to pop up and have snack there I know this place since open up and always had a great experience
B. P.
I love their square pesto and vegetable rolls ~ such delicious European fresh flavors ~
You can get loaves of bread, German savory pretzels and more ~
J. H.
Very clean and fresh products
K. W.
Love the amount of choices of breads that you can get and they all taste great. A bit expensive for the fancier breads and the sandwiches aren't filling enough, but the taste is there.
A. Z.
Fantastic quality, and fabulous customer service. Fully recommended. Prices meet taste of any budget.
J. M.
Good coffee n yummy sweet n savory treats
D. W.
Coffee and cake. Always good. In the passage between Town Hall station and the QVB.
S. O.
Very hot day but the staff still smiling and friendly.☺️
m. a.
Very delicious pastry! One of the best in Sydney. The staff are very friendly too.
A. E.
Such a nice and fresh ham n chess sandwich and the staff were friendly despite them being very busy
L. B.
Only some breads/pastries/sandwich are goods, everything else is either so-so or bad. Few new products.
The cashiers mood is so random.
T. O.
The food is 4 star. Good bread and great prices. The staff are 2 star, quite abrupt and not very polite or helpful
J. H.
Good quality bakery - I’ve tried the baker and it’s some great dinner rolls.
C. C.
Always have good selection of pre made healthy rolls and german bread and pastries

Good coffee and nice pastries (based on an off-peak Saturday morning visit).
G. N.
Pretzels, scrolls and bread are some of the best in Sydney. On the negative side, the coffee can be "burnt" on occasion
C. B.

Turkey sandwich, tuna sandwich was delicious
Maple pecans and chocolate brownies were also delicious.
It's cheap for an average of four dollars and tastes good.
Good for light

(Translated) Finally real bread and rolls again. Super tasty and super fresh. Service friendly and courteous, that is definitely better than in Germany. In terms of hygiene and cleanliness, most stores in Australia can follow this bakery as an example.
I will always be happy to come back.
(Original)

(Translated) Great place for friends of well-kept pastry. Have there now a few times on the way to tours bought a sandwich, was served this morning in German, just 16,000km away from home to be able to speak their own language, great fun. Otherwise, you can real bread, real bread and real baked goods away from the local usual, rather English (= inedible) or Asian (is, but who wants to something for breakfast) looking bakery buy.
I know where to find my breakfast for the next few days.
(Original)
L. W.
(Translated) Very good quality of the baked goods, the coffee tastes excellent and the price-performance ratio is also great.
This bakery is really only recommended! :)
