I am working my way through the pie menu and everything was fantastic. The pastry and fillings are excellent, although the beef & jalepeno was barely spicy. My favourites have been the vegan. Far from the usual tired vegetable curry pie, where flavour is removed to make it vegetarian, they've been able to pack in more flavour than the meat pies!

The pastries are unbelievable. The pies.. oh the pies. so flakey and fresh. you can tell its all handmade with thought. my first time trying a fish pie and i looooved it. if you can make it on the weekend, ask for the custard tart. 100% the best custard youve ever had. one of the best eats ive had in newtown, hands down.

I had to check this place out after the Newtown locals FB group raved about this place ( with bold claims such as it’s better than BSB & pie tin!). I love all my locals, so I’d say Miss Lillys offer a distinctive, uniquely delicious crumbly base (spelt flour, he said )! It’s a must visit — be a local hero 🦸‍♀️!! The team’s friendly and kind; I can’t wait to try other pie flavours (+ the carrot and cheesecake)

Cute cafe with friendly staff and tasty cakes and pies. I had an apple, raspberry and honey tea cake with a light buttercream icing on top with a peppermint tea. A lovely spot to have a afternoon tea and read the newspaper. Looking forward to trying one of their famous pies next time I'm here.

I was meant to be going to Pie Tin to try their " famous " pies but as I passed Miss Lilly's thought I would buy a lamb potato pie just to compare with Pie Tin. So glad I did. Bought two pies from Pie Tin and could not finish either of them but glad to say wolfed down the pie from Miss Lilly's! Flaky fresh pastry tasty mince and scrumptious potato. Will be back to Miss Lilly's but Pie Tin is a miss for me!

Very, very good pies. Perfect combination of flaky pastry and good fillings - reasonable price, very friendly. The seafood one is also delicious with the mash potato. I haven't tried the cakes yet but I am looking forward to it!

Really good pies and sausage roll. There's very limited seats. The only quibble is mostly directed at the people who aren't here to eat and take up the table with their 1 coffee and just sit there.

Absolutely top notch pastries, both savoury and sweet. I agree with other reviewers that they serve the best pies and rolls I've found in Sydney. The food is topped off with lovely staff and great coffee - it's a real treat of a place that brightens up this quieter end of King St.

Best pies in NSW if not Australia, what a gem to have in Newtown, this is a must have if you enjoy a good pie. The quiches are also superb! I eat here way more than I should, but it’s worth it :) does nice coffee also.

I live in Adelaide but my sister (the birthday girl) lives near this bakery. After all the strict lockdowns, I knew she wasn't going out anywhere and wanted to give her a surprise to make her birthday something extra. I know my sister... she needed pie. The order was quick over the phone and they seemed to really want to go the extra length to get my surprise done. In the end, I got free delivery (did not expect that) and from what I heard, the apple pie was delicious. The only problem my sister had was entirely on my end. I forgot the ice cream!

I went in to try the fish pie and the chai spiced carrot cake, and both were absolutely delicious! The pie had buttery, flakey pastry, with the yummiest fish filling and fluffy potato top. It was perfectly seasoned. And then I followed with the carrot cake, which was just the right amount of sweet and spice, while totally moist and light. YUM YUM!

Tried Miss Lilly's today for the first time. Had the mushroom and raclette toastie which was amazing. Pies and sweets looked great. I have had their pies and such at the various markets around Sydney, which is why I wanted to try their new home. Will definitely go again.

This place has hands down the best pies I've had in this country. It's like it exists in a magical time warp. Step inside and be transported to a world where food is made from ingredients you recognize. It helps that the staff are friendly as well. This place is an absolute gem.

I read a review about this cake somewhere so I had to try it. Oh my god, is all I can say. It looks dense but when you bite into it, you just get really lost In a lovely, soft pillowy melody of mango and coconut and butter that will leave you speechless for a bit, until you speak up to order a long black to go with it. Heavenly.
