Comments of The Braidwood Bakery

Unfortunately didn't get to stop here due to time but had walked past the place on a quick visit through Braidwood. Looked reasonably popular with a fair few people inside the place. Liked the older style building. Parking available outside. A must stop next time when passing through.
D. P.
Delightful staff, lovely coffee & happy to make it in my keep cup, delicious sausage roll & best vanilla slice ever. Definitely worth stopping & finding something you'll love too.
Family business & great atmosphere.
R.
I had the chicken pie. Was very hot and tasty! It was Good Friday and the Braidwood Bakery was very busy at around lunchtime, but the service was quick and friendly. Also enjoyed a flat while coffee. The only downside was they don't accept American Express.
M. T.
Had a meat pie and vanilla slice. Both were great. The pie was a good temperature and didn't drip. The VS gel together til the end and tasted great.
Only negative was no tomato sauce, had to have bbq.
A. C.
Big busy bakery, producing large quantities of baked goods. Guaranteed there will be something for everyone.
Quality of breads and pastries are average and there is a wide range of sweets and savouries. The quantum of bread products has diminished finesse, so don't be expecting melting flaky pastries on the Danish, instead it's more bready, so better to opt for more bread based products for a better eating experience.
Considering how busy it was at an early morning on a public holiday, the service from the friendly staff was fast.
S. V.
Very nice bakery, delicious vegan options. We tried the soup of the day, it was pumpkin and it was absolutely delicious, dairy free as pumpkin soup should always be. We also tried the vegetable pie and the vegan sausage roll. Pie crust and filling are very nice, sausage roll I can say it's the best I've tried. Coffee is also very nice. Service is good and staff is very friendly and helpful, when we asked about dairy in the food, she promptly went to confirm if he food was really dairy free. This kind of service you don't find everywhere. Will definitely come back.

This is our stopping spot on the way to the coast (like so many people). The staff are always super friendly, the drink choices are impressive, and the food always fresh and good. We all have our favorites and it never disappoints
V. J.
Braidwood Bakery also known as Trappers Bakery has some of the best pies and sausage rolls, they also have old fashioned rock cakes and a range of other baked cakes, tarts and slices as well as a selection of sandwiches and rolls. They also bake very good breads and rolls all fresh daily and brewed coffee plus milkshakes and other drinks. You have to get in quick because they sell out fast.
K. T.
I always visit whenever I am driving down the coast. They have the best pies ever and fruit tarts! Love their sausage rolls. too very cheap compared to Canberra prices. They also have toilets so it's just convenient to stop by here on my way to the coast.
A. M.
Old school prices and quality. Hard pressed to say that these days. Pleasantly surprised they had vegan sausage rolls, which were excellent. Also loved the apple turnover. I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in town.
T. R.
A popular stopover between Canberra and Batemans Bay. Geared for quick turnover of people with pre-made sandwiches, assortment of cakes and pastries, pies and sausage rolls which are all fine. Coffee is good. Eat-in is basic and noisy.
C. E.
Go here for the Potato Pies, they’re scrumptious!
My trip to the coast is not complete without stopping at the Braidwood Bakery. Love the pies and the yummy donuts.
It’s a fav place for the kids too.
H. T.
Great Danish and custard tart. Black coffee a little strong for me but with a sweet pastry it was good. Very busy and friendly atmosphere.
L. A.
Fresh baked bread, custard tarts, apple turn over, pies are delicious and bake every day. It's good to stop over in Braidwood and you won't miss this lovely Bakery and serving delicious chai latte and cappuccino too.
K. k.
I don't think this place needs a review. Everyone knows that this place is amazing. Lovely pit stop, great bakery, reasonable prices, good coffee and they have toilets!!!
My favorite menu item is their cherry cheesecake strudel when in season. If not, apple strudel.
A. C.
We had donuts and a cinnamon scroll with coffee and they were so yummy. The sourdough was delicious for dinner. 12/10.
T. K.
We were driving from Thredbo to Batemans Bay. After passing a 135km stretch of no places to eat, found this bakery. We had chicken pies, vegan sausage rolls and some other sweets. Food was divine! Totally unexpected !
A. G.
Had a steak and pepper pie a few weeks ago.
There must have been shortage of steak because between my husband and my pie we came across only 3 pieces of meat altogether.

Wahoo. Yepee. Absolute Diamond in this beautiful Country Town. Real Bread and tastes like it did when growing up. Biscuits, Donuts and Caramel Slice are all magnificent. Sarah and the mature Lady with red hair who both served me are so friendly, polite and helpful. My oh my I thankyou for a tasty morning tea and keeping it real. Happy 2022 ☆☆☆☆☆
L. K.
Coffee Wasn't very nice - plain pie and plain sausage roll were okay. I wouldn't say they were the best.
Used to be a lot better.
a. s.
Always a fav when heading down that way, tastes and traditional bakery. Stopped in today, it looks like half the size it was reckoning the Rona has hit the cafe side. Stop by and show them some love.
J. G.
We are on the way to batmans bay and stop by for some gingerbreadman biscuits and house. We order a chicken pie. It is good but not so tasty as the reputation. My son loves the gingerbreadman house. It is around 35AUD.
G. M.
Delicious bakery.
Variety of food such as fresh sandwiches, pies, sausage rolls, slices, cakes and doughnuts. Cold and hot beverages to purchase as well.
There is fresh breads that are delicious for take home.
I. M.
Just another regional bakery selling very ordinary coffee. Still resting on the reputation of yesteryear. There are many other less well known and obvious food options in Braidwood if you are willing to seek them out.
K.
Yum. Great range of food, great location and friendly staff. Toilets out back and plenty of seating. I stop here everytime I pass through.
N. L.
Very clean shop & public toilets, great coffee & the yummiest baked goods 😋
R. L.
Back on top form! Pies excellent. Sausage rolls pretty good. Fast friendly service.
R. C.
Good steak and pepper pie. Kids had a sausage roll. After my steak and pepper pie I also had one. Bit dry but Kids loved it
S. A. (.
This place has the best pies I’ve tried for a long time. I can’t help but stop get one when I pass through. The place is always busy, nothing to have five or more people in line at each register but they always have plenty of staff on and service is generally quick. Also have great amenities out the back.
D.
Often very busy, without any real system for lining up, so you often have pushy people jumping in front of you when trying to order.
F. K.
Great place. Mind you by the time we visited, most of the stock had already been sold....but we still got what we wanted.
N. K.
Amazing, fresh, lots of variety. Very quick coffee. You have to stop in!!
S. H.
This legendary bakery is a staple stop on the Canberra-to-coast road trip for its broad, mouth-watering selection of bakery treats, breads, hot pies, sandwiches and absolutely vast fridge of cold beverages. The coffee is a highlight and I enjoy taking the time to drink mine in the lovely garden out the back, though there's indoor seating too. There's clean bathrooms on site. Accessibility might be a bit hard if you're movement impaired as the parking is often full and the curbs are steep and uneven.
D. L.
Lovely staff and good stuff! Beautiful coffee and amazing pies! I strongly recommend it!
J. P.
Have been going for years, always a great stopping point before the Clyde mountain.
R. F.
Always yummy food, unless they've run out. Staff are mostly friendly, and the vanilla slice is worth the occasional long wait. Only one small thing is it was quite quiet and no one cleaned the tables.
Coffee is good for a country town, and the pies are quite good too.
Good selection of cakes and pastries, but bit limited on the actual lunch menu today.
R. W.
Used to be amazing, was going to stock up for my holiday. Cabinet of sweets was empty, bread on racks looked burnt. Pies were just a mush. Ordinary. Will not be a 'must stop' location anymore.
R. H.
Fresh Baked good, and treats.
Great for a coffee break or planned rest stop
T. L. G.
Delicious bakery. The pies are fresh and the pastries are flaky. Huge range of cakes on display and goodness they're delicious.
S.
Great bakery with good coffee and a wonderful array of cakes, pastries, pies and of course fresh bread. Can be busy as it's on the main road. Definitely worth a break from a long drive.
L. R. W.
Busy little bakery. Smaller version of Trappers at Goulburn. Owned by same company
Food as always beautiful
D. W.
Tasty pies !
S. F.
Great spot to stop and grab a pie or 3. Better be quick as its always busy.
S. P.
Well worth the trip!! I had a curry pie which was very tasty; others in my group had Chunky Steak, Pepper Steak & Steak+mushroom pies; all of which were great.
d. m.
Okay coffee on cool raised chair seats and tables - lots of room to work on a laptop.
P. K.
Always a great place to take a quick break when travelling between Canberra and the Sapphire Coast. Great bakery with lots of choice. Great pies, bread, cakes etc.
R. H.
Part of the Canberra institution when heading to, or coming back from the coast. Grab yourself a pastry snack and coffee, short toilet break and be on your way.
C.
One of the most delightful bakery's I have had the pleasure of dining in. Beautiful old fashioned bread. Haven't seen a pipe loaf in years and I doubt most people would even know what it is. The muffins the best I've eaten and if you saw me you'd know I've eaten a few in my time so I don't give this complement lightly. A must do on your visit to this beautiful historic town.
C.
You can find wide variety of pies here and they are yummy! Loved their beef and cheese pie the most
M. L.
Friendly service, great coffee and open when all other cafes are closed!
G. P.
Excellent pies, many varieties, and not too hot to eat immediately. Good interior space to sit and eat, plus toilet facilities. A welcome stop
M. T.
Very good pies and great coffee. Mt favourite place to stop when going to Canberra
G. F.
Nice place to stop for a pie or cake and coffee sit in takeaway up to you but stop and try a pie
J. h.
Always stop on way to and from canberra. Great pies , lovely bread
K. W.
The pies were ok at best. Danish was delicious. Overall, I would describe my experience here as mediocre.
K. M.
My misses said Best sausage roll that she has had for years!? 😋👌💯
K. B.
It was good. Husband had steak and pepper pie and l had quiche which was the best ever and equal to best pies i'v had in other places. Done circlet of oz this year so have had plenty to compare with.
j. h.
Nice pies, cakes and coffee and helpful eating area, e.g. in and out door eating and toilets.
C. F.
I like the pies. They have a variety of pies, breads and sandwiches...Free parking on the street.
M. L.
Great pies, lovely surrounds and very friendly staff.
B. G.
Typical country pie shop, busy n good service
Pie n coffee were good, would stop there again
B. B.
Busy at lunch time. Food was fresh and tasty
G. O.
Busy busy busy must be an obvious recommendation. Middle of the week and still they come for those tasty morsels, pies, buns, cakes or a nice cup of non alcoholic coffee perhaps fresh bread for a sanger later. Great place for that break to refresh midway to the coast, stop and enjoy.
m. w.
Nice warm place to retreat to if in Braidwood in winter. Hot drinks and pastry. My Dad proclaimed the potato pie to be the 'best pie he's had in 30 years'. They do good bread also.
I. T.
Good coffee, nice cream bun but the pies let us down. My pie was dry and overcooked, burnt on the base and my husband's pie was also dry. There is no obvious place to queue so people get confused.
k. k.
Good for a piss stop and a feed before going down the mountain.
J. a. S. M.
Great coffee, lovely staff and excellent bakery goods. They are always packed in peak times but the wait is never long.
A. R.
Look no further if you want to have a quick bite and move on. You will get fresh pies, cake slices, desserts etc. Can't miss their vegetarian pie if you want one. Can be a bit busy in there.
Everything I tried was tasty and fresh. Nice clean Bakery looks historic.
D. B.
Great pies, get ready for a queue on the weekend.
N. W.
Always good food. Coffee pretty ordinary.
R. “. R.
Great place to stop mid trip to Batemans Bay. Great pies and coffee! Lovely staff and reasonable prices. Only downfall is there isnt ever enough baked goods to last til closing time. Early bird gets the great baked goods!!
G. M.
Mandatory place to stop on the way to Canberra for a pepper steak pie and hot chocolate!
K. H.
Perfect sausage rolls and awesome coffee - nailed a long black and provided cold water in a separate cup! . Service was A1 and so very friendly. Highly recommended!
M. L.
Wonderful good old fashioned Aussie favourite cakes. The best baked custard tarts, apricot crumble and rock cakes. Very good priced Pies. And fabulous customer service.
W. G.
Always a fav to stop in and grab a pie on our way to Batemans Bay. Was very busy when we were in there and with the physical distancing dots was a little hard to tell who was waiting/next to be serviced..service was fast when it came.round to us. Bit hard to tell what pie flavours were left, as there we no signs, again could have been because they were flat chat. Pies are always consistently good. Will be back on our return trip home.
I. S.
Pretty good bakery, traditional stop on the way from Canberra to the Coast. Good coffee and snacks.
P. H.
Lovely staff, beautiful coffee, fantastic pies.
Can't fault them on anything.
S. Y.
I loved the lady who served us, I wish I got her name, she was very friendly and fast! Sausage rolls were yummy and pies were good too, good place for a quick bite.
S. B.
Coffee is good ☕
Pies are great so too are the sausage rolls
A must stop for your travels through the Gateway to the south coast and on the way back too perfect for the late pickup for a loaf of bread 🍞 for lunch tomorrow
C. B.
Pies are good, Cherry cheesecake was yum too
L. S.
Thank you for the best ever Hot Cross Buns YUM
M. M.
One of the best chunky steak pepper pies you will ever eat👍👍
J. B.
Stopped on a long car trip. Great sausage roll, great donuts, great coffee. Great service and nice bathrooms. Couldn't ask for more.
F. U.
Honestly, Braidwood bakery has gone downhill in recent times. When I say recent times I mean the last 10 years. I've been going, as many locals have been, for over 15 years and unfortunately as they've become more popular they've lost their quality. I mean it's understandable as to keep up with demand they have to pump out as many pies as they can but still, it's disappointing. I hope in the future it changes and I once again long for the stops in Braidwood for their legendary pies.
A. D.
Excellent service and awesome pastries. Well worth stopping in on your way through Braidwood.
R. B.
Definitely worth the hour's drive. So devine
J. W.
We had plain meatpies they were awesome ..
D. A.
Food here is just alright, I feel it has declined over the years but the apple strudel is very nice, Braidwood has a bit more to offer these days so I think this place could do with a makeover.
L. G.
Nice fresh pies and friendly staff. Great place for a nice lunch or snack.
S. H.
Nice pies. Well kept and clean. Can get quite busy, but then clears out quickly as well, so you probably will be able to get a table without any problem. It is worth a stop.
H. K.
My family and I always stop at Braidwood bakery on a trip to the coast. My younger siblings and I love all there baked treats. Pies and sausage rolls are wonderful. Bread is amazing, always enjoy going.
G. J.
Service was great, customers were pleasant, one older customer offered me the chance to sit down to eat my pie and vanilla slice. Food was great. I was pleased the food was still as good as I remember.
G. Y.
Great bakery with lots of fresh bakery good on offer. Well worth a visit if you are going through Braidwood. Grab yourself a snack and a hot or cold drink.
m. k.
Great 👍 place too have a break..
O. C.
Great pit-stop for your travels. As should be expected there is great food, service and a nice location. I recommend this place!
C. B.
Once again the Braidwood bakery serves up a great set of bakery goods. The pies are wonderful depending on your taste they have meat, vegetarian pies and short time special pies. The sausage rolls are still my favourite savoury. The sweet treats are stunning my wife and I enjoyed the apple turnover and the kids liked the pineapple tarts. If you are passing through do yourself a favour and visit, and if you don't want the pie there they do cold pies so you can heat them up when you want.
A. V.
Very best pies ever had. Thick gravy, chucky meat & pastry cooked to perfection. Highly recommended, well worth the visit to Braidwood. Every time we go to the south coast, it's our lunch time stop.
D. C.
Very good coffee with a nice hot meal
J. E.
The pies are very nice and the staff friendly and quick. Unfortunately, there always seems to be a massive queue and they don't offer plates for your food so it can be a little difficult to sit in and eat. Still well worth a visit.
C. P.
The high top white loaf is to die for.
J. M.
Good pies, nice facilities, always clean enough but pretty much every time I come here the service is indifferent at best and you’re made to feel like an impost. The young staff here are rude.
E.
Today my partner and I visited Braidwood bakery. It was rather busy at lunch time. We waited patiently in line giving us a chance to have a look at all the food choices. The prices are so reasonable too! We were served by a lady with auburn hair, her customer service is an example for all front of house people. She was caring and had time for us and also efficient. Very very pleased. The coffees were nice and hot too! Food was so fresh and delicious.
J. C.
Not a lot I can say only was looking forward to a lot more mixed food
P. G.
A nice stop on the way to the coast. The bakery has wide range of freshly baked breads, pies, sweets and treats. It's always busy and filled with people. I enjoyed the cracked peppered steak pie which apparently was part of the normal menu but it is now occasionally, 'Pie of the Month'.
N. P.
We always stop here on the trip from Canberra to the coastal areas. While their pies are not the best I have ever had, we do enjoy them. Their pastries are fantastic. I love the apple strudel and the turnovers. One of my sons always has the vanilla slice. A perfect way to break the trip.
L. A.
Toilets clean . Outside sitting area nice. Inside well set up. Staff smiling polite and helpful. Great food. Tried the Chili Pie yummy wish I had bought 2. Apricot danish very nice with big piece of apricot. I'll be back 😀 Highly recommend.
S. P.
I live near the other Trappers so was surprised that it didn't have any of the same character. Nice once inside. Toilets were clean. The shop was so busy I decided to eat elsewhere. I'd try again next time I'm in Braidwood.
P. S.
Great it was last place open for a coffee
J.
Well priced good quality food, served by friendly staff
S. J.
Always great pies. Good coffee too.
P. R.
So much better than the pretentious Canberran-infested 'artisanal' and over-priced bakery in the alley next door. Save your pennies and donate to anything that saves the World. Sleep easy at night too.
G. W.
Love this place in my favourite town. Go there every time I visit Braidwood. Ideal place for lunch or just watch the townsfolk over a cup of coffee
M. Á.
What a nice surprise this place was! We accidentally found it as we were looking for a cafe which was open at 5 pm (not many 😁) and decided to give it a try. To be honest, the barista guy is amazing! Great short black, delicious chai latte, and the cakes were yummy, too. If I could, I would give them 10 stars. 😊 If you are in Braidwood, don't hesitate to visit this place. Highly recommended.
C. T.
Great pies and lovely staff.
C. H.
Good coffee and a fantastic caramel eclair! Very clean and tidy establishment so will be returning to sample more sweet treats.... the pies are also amazing! Huge variety of food to choose from.
k. s.
We got the last two pieces of vanilla slice. Phew!!!
C. S.
Such a great bakery. Must go through there on the way to the coast v they even have a couple of gluten free options. Good coffee. Huge drinks detection and clean toilets for that travel break
l. s.
Great food and service got to stop at the bakery when on the way to the cost.
S. L.
Awesome pies and sausage rolls! We drove through Braidwood in the afternoon, there was a few people in the bakery bit not overly busy
J. L.
Beautiful service and amazing food and coffee
J. P.
Found the quality of the pies varied. The Cornish pastie was more pastry than filling, and far too hard at that. I tried the pie of the month (pepper steak) and found it underwhelming - not hot, and not particularly flavoursome. On the other hand, the chilli beef actually had some spice heat to it, a rarity these days. Overall it gets an ok rating only, not helped by the relatively high prices. Once a mustn't miss stop, now dropped below their previous highs.
S. R.
No gluten free options!! unfortunately I wasn't feeling like cookies and as that's the only gf option I skipped lunch. The cakes and pies looked delicious and my partner enjoyed his
S. R.
Great pie s & coffee!!
P. A.
It's the old fashioned village bakery that are slowly dying out, but people are crying out for them to make a comeback. Good ole service, great food.pies sausage rolls and pastries are of excellent quality. You can also get a hot cuppa for those passing through. All in all a great place to eat
H. L.
Pies delicious, apple pie superb and excellent coffee. All served with a smile.
Highly recommended.
j. r.
Busy place with great service and fab pies and coffee. Outdoor area looked nice. Took bread home and its beautiful.
L. I.
Love the bread ,pies ,cakes, coffee. We always drop in on our way up to visit our daughter or on our way home to get some goodies.
E. L.
Disappointed they wouldn't make a sandwich when their pre made ones had already been sold
S. R.
A good place to stop off at going to and from the coast. People are helpful and toilets are clean. If there is a queue it normally moves quite fast
A. S.
Lovely range of breads, pies and other goodies with great coffees as well. Relaxing and very clean table area with great amenities. Always a great place to stop on the way through town for a coffee and something tasty to eat.
C. T.
So many yummy choices! There are pies, sausage rolls, sandwiches, rolls, cakes, loaves of bread as well as coffees and teas. There are also great rest rooms out near the back garden area. We have been going to this bakery for years because the pies are hot, fresh and tasty!
B. 7.
Stopped in for a steak and mushroom pie.
Nothing exciting or amazing about the pie. Just the same as a four and twenty pie.
I couldn’t even taste any mushrooms in the pie.
Won’t stop here again.
P.
This business deserves some sort of award; they are fantastic. I placed an order for a birthday cake 🎂 at the very last minute. It wasn’t a problem and they were able to get me the cake with less than a day’s notice (saving my bacon!). Then when there was a last minute hitch with the order, Brook and Tors figured out a solution and the amazing Tors gave up her personal time, on her day off, to fix it! I will be buying here whenever I am in Braidwood!
N. O.
We always stop here. Best pies and my favourite custard tart. Service is friendly and a atmosphere.
N. C.
Chunky steak and kidney pie was delicious and baked custard tart was awesome. We had coffee and the barista knows how to make a very good latte. Always worth a visit thanks for yummy breaky on our trip down the south coast
N. W.
Trading on a history of the best pie, the place to stop between the coast and Canberra. It's good but does not live up to the hype. Especially since our favourite pie was cut in the new reduced menu.
E. K.
A must if you are passing through Braidwood. I actually rode over Clyde Mountain from Batemans Bay for an apple and rhubarb pie. Superb. Good prices for an extensive range. Plenty of seating inside with outdoor seating at the back.
Y. M.
Great service. Great food.
W. K.
Perfect place to stop when heading feom Canberra to coast. Excellent Chunky Steak pie and coffee to stay alert down the Clyde. Even though close to closing time the staff were fantastic.
G. C.
Great service food and coffee
G. “. W. D. J.
It's one of those things every canberran stops there on the way through to the coast but realistically it's nothing special would I say it's the pies are bad no but I also wouldn't say they're the best
H.
Vanilla slice tastes exactly the same as it did over a decade ago! Delicious pies and incredibly friendly staff. Will be coming back as much as I can!
D. S.
Busy place.Service was quick and friendly.Lots of yummy cakes and treats to choose from.Coffee was good.A great place to stop at on your way to the coast.
r. T.
Good service and damn delicious
R. H.
Stopped here on the way to Mogo wildlife park. I love trappers bakery at Goulburn and they still deliver great taste at Braidwood bakery. Worth the stop when going to the coast.
C. H.
These people make absolutely great stuff. Everything is quality and we especially loved the pies. The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is because they are so popular we had to queue for between 10 - 20+ minutes everytime we were in there.
P. F.
Curry, chunky pepper steak pies and sausage rolls were delicious. Coffee ok too. Generally v good for a big pie shop
P. H.
Braidwood bakery is definitely the best place to stop by for a nice bite to eat on the way to Bateman's Bay or somewhere near there. The pies there are Devine and there are so many choices. There is also a vast range of different dessert options for a little treat if you are a bit peckish. The customer service here is outstanding, they always have lots of great staff there to serve you and help you to get your food. I would 100% recommend this place if you are close to or are in Braidwood. Good job guys and keep being the best bakery around!
T. W.
Went to visit this place because not only they sell amazing pies and other food, but also because of the NSW fires they haven't been selling as much food and having been getting as much money so it's harder for them to live a life when they don't earn enough like every other year, We all need yo visit them just to have lunch cause all it takes is buying 1 pie from them to help the business and the living abilities. Let's support these people as they are not only open to travelers or locals they are open to the fire fighters who are fighting the fires to keep Braidwood safe and alive so it doesn't burn down. Support the shop and their business and support the Fire fighters especially as they work long hard day's to keep us safe when they could be at home safe instead of fighting for others life's so we can be safe and happy. RESPECT THE FIRE FIGHTERS!!
G. B.
Great coffee, good pastries and pies. Quick friendly service. Toilets available.
M. Z.
steak and mushroom pie, pastie and sausage roll make a great dinner after getting back to Canberra from a long weekend at the coast
N.
Great place. Friendly staff.
T. O.
Amazing range of delicious looking baked goods. Fast service. Plenty of seating. Don't bother with any of the other smaller bakeries, go straight to this one. Pies were tasty AF.
K. V. Z.
Best vanilla slice by far. Not the best pies I've ever had, but surely beats any other pies I have tasted in Australia! Good service and friendly staff!
P. M.
Great food, wonderful staff, clean and comfortable. Great place for a quick bite/coffee
D. D.
Anyone who gave this place anything less than 5 stars has to be vegan and is mentally unstable. This IS the BEST bakery in nsw and as far as i know has to be the best pie shop in Australia. Most random spot for it as braidwoods just a town you go through to get to the coast but holy moly they didnt let that stop them from creating pure food art.
Try the chunky steak pie.....youll be loving me for it
I. K.
Such a popular stopping spot on the trip between Canberra and Batemans Bay. They have a great selection of pies and pastries. There is always a large amount of customers at any given time, but you don't have to wait long at all.
A. M.
Great range and friendly but often busy staff
J. H.
Not overly impressed at all. My chunky pepper steak pie was bloody awful. 1 poece of steak about 1.5 cm square and that was it. Coffee was pretty ordinary as well.
G. H.
Friendly staff and great service. Most importantly fresh and delicious food.
A. F.
Great stop on a road trip!!
Tasty food. Friendly staff. Toilets!
Had vegan pie and sausage roll :D
D. J.
A unplanned visit on the way back to sydney. Turned out be a gem. Tasty pies and awesome bread.
M. V.
Had a great breakfast of a quiche, Danish, OJ and coffee. (And they take Dine&Discover vouchers!)
R. T.
Delicious bakery that it a must visit when passing through Braidwood on the way to the coast/Canberra. They have a huge assortment of pies and pastries and plenty of seating both indoor and outdoors.
M. T.
Wide range of treats and meals. Very good staff and nice interior. I particularly recommend the Mixed Berry Tart.
Best to go in the morning before they run out of the good stuff
A. J.
A great stop for passers by for a great cuppa and a pie or pastry. The bakery is open early hours and is quite large considering the size of the town. Wonderful little business in a beauty historic town.
M. S.
No matter what time of the business day, the bakery seems to be packed, especially on a Sat or Sun. Pies and sausage rolls are delicious.
L. C.
Lovely bakery in a quaint town, friendly service good selection of pies, breads and other products also good coffee.
v.
Quick service, friendly and clean. 👍
C. P.
Braidwood bakery is a great place to grab a quick coffee and bite to eat, I really enjoy their pepper steak pies and I am constantly requested to buy sausage rolls for friends and family can get very busy on the weekends with all the thoroughfare of Canberra residents on the way to the coast and back, but the wait is worth it.
J.
So far everything I've eaten had been good. Always a go too in Braidwood.
T. S.
Always been a great Bakery, good food served with a smile highly recommended.
E. W.
When for a drive from Canberra for lunch at the Bakery worth the drive, great food, great coffee, friendly service. Worth a visit. Support the local community.
W. S.
Great range of fresh bakery items in nice premises but always way too busy. Too much people traffic to enjoy a quiet, relaxing stop.
l. b.
Had the misfortune of breaking down on the Clyde and getting towed into Braidwood. Great coffee and a pie here were a welcome relief. Thanks to Sarah and her team who let us hang around til our rescuer arrived from Canberra!
J. O.
What's not to love about this place? Great food. Good prices. Very efficient. It's all institution that had stood the test of time.
H. E. Z.
Nice place to stop in the way from Canberra to the cost. Friendly service, nice coffee and excellent bakery. Very important also to find the best toilet facilty in the whole trip.
K. C.
Beautiful pastries, buns, pies .. awesome lamington. The staff are so friendly and so happy to have people in after the fires and now wind-back of Covid restrictions.
K. B.
Best service.
Best pies.
Best pastries!
Served by Chloe - she was super friendly and helpful.
R. M.
Great for a pitstop between the coast and ACT. Lovely bakery and big range of products. A little pricey but very popular with Canberrans and coasties alike. Located in the pretty town of Braidwood.
A. S.
Great staff good food.
D. C.
Awesome pie of the day
Curry chicken and veg
Yum yum
P. D.
Lovely country bakery full of delicious breads and cakes . Friendly , courteous staff . A good break on a long drive
L. H.
We stop here on our travels to and from south coast. Eat in or take away. Always good for a cuppa, snack and comfort stop. Has a nice country vibe too.
B. A.
Hot chocolate 🍫 was just what I wanted
D. S.
The perfect place to stop for something to eat, toilet break, on the way to the south coast. Clean, friendly, fast.
A. V.
Whilst the bakery has a wide selection of breads and sugar fixes - none of the items have prices attached to the protective wrappings. Nevertheless the bakery is popular with all customers, especially during peak periods. Do not expect to have available parking immediately outside the premises due to the badly planned pedestrian crossings nearby.
D. S.
Called in for a steak pie and a lamington which were both very very nice. It's a local institution and very popular with travelers and locals.
I'll keep coming back.
T. n. M. J.
Busy but well done.
C. t.
Got a steak cheese and bacon pie with caramel latte and it was awesome
A. a.
Busy place. inflated prices. Be cautious about their public holiday surcharges. I run in to buy one small bottle of water. I had a terrible headache and needed to take a painkiller. I found it distasteful how on top of an already inflated price they also charged public holiday charges.
S. B.
Always happy to stop for a coffee and a good selection of things to eat.
Pretty much always busy, but you don't have to wait long
C. W.
Best pies ever, the bread rolls are huge and delicious and all the sweets are really good. There’s a really nice place to sit out the back too.
K. G.
Love their cupcake and coffee. Place was clean and good customer service 🤗
B. R.

C. B.
Friendly staff, nice coffee, love the variety, and love the fact they are open early. Will definitely stop by on my way back to Canberra. Xo
K. L.
Always stop here on the way to the coast. Lovely food and great hot chocolate! Always busy but never have to wait long. Toilets are always nice and clean.
A. S.
Had the best coffee I have had this year today. Pies flavoursome. Friendly staff. You wouldn't believe this is the same store as Goulburn.
A. P.
This is a regular stop for most travelers to the coast from Canberra, good coffee and cakes.
C.
Always love this bakery. A mandatory pitstop anytime we go through. Pies are my favourite
D. G.
Always have great pies and sausage rolls. Their sweet pastries are delicious too. Almost impossible not to stop on the way down to the coast.
B. D.
Classic country bakery. Decent pies (complete with a nice, crispy crust!) and all sorts of goodies. Certainly a reliable destination in Braidwood.
G. S.
A must to stop at great food, coffee alongside friendly service well worth a visit
E. R.
Excellent service, lovely staff and great food. A business that's getting it right. Well done!
D. M.
This is the tourist bakery in town. The food and coffee is fine, but not as good as other smaller shops in town. They do have early opening hours which is convenient.
J. M.
Great food well known for their pies and pastries you cant go wrong stoping and eating here definitely one of the best bakerys
A. M.
This place is so well run. Great food and service.
A. S.
Zero character, unenthusiastic staff but the food was OK. Had no choice as every other venue either locks up at 14:00 or has run out of food. Shame, lovely town otherwise.
M. C.
Very nice staff and always a lovely experience coming here. Definitely worth the stop on your way to the coast
C. H.
Great food and service. But the layout of the shop makes it a bit difficult to navigate when it's busy.
D. M.
The pies here are great. Very busy on weekends. perfect way to break up the trip from ACT to the coast. Check out the town at the same time.
S. D.

Busy bakery in historic town. Spinach and feta roll was very nice, however the veg pie and coffees were only average.
U. S.
This is probably the easiest place to get something quick to eat for lunch in Braidwood. Lots of meat pies, sweet slices, baked goods, and a big fridge full of water, soft drinks and chocolate milk.
A. C.
Stopped here on a trip to batemans bay. Grabbed a plain pie and it was really good. Stopped again on the way back grabbed a chunky steak pie and it was burnt and very dry with little filling
C. M.
I like their berry danishes but they sell out quick, and that is usually the only thing I get from this bakery. You will usually have a wait to be served and an even longer wait if you want a coffee.
R. I.
Great little spot.. Fresh cakes. Nice coffee. Friendly service... What more could you ask for?
M.
Good place for a quick feed on a long trip. Pies and sandwiches are above average

D. J.
A nice bakery that has ample seating. Popular with tourists travelling down to the south coast of NSW. There are clean toilets and outdoor seating.
M. C.
The Braidwood Bakery has perfected the art of capturing passing motorists. It can be crazy busy on the weekends with the Canberra coast traffic crowd. It wouldn't be this busy if it was not doing something right. All in all, it is a small town bakery done well.
M. W. M.
As advertised, a good place to have a break and a bit and with a spacious choice of seating. Great staff too...!
E. A.
Very busy, heaps of variety and sit down for breky or lunch. My daughter gives a big thumbs up for the vanilla slices!!
J. B.
Great bakery pies sausage rolls and cakes best ever the staff are fantastic. We stop there on the way to canberra .
