We had a meal last night. Great sized menu with variety and not the usual pub style meals.. Food was excellent. Good size portions. Tasty and excellent presentations. Some hadsmaller options (see pic for large and small fish and chips)Prices seemed fair. Staff were friendly and attentive. Chelsea was great. There is indoor and outdoor seating, appears there is music played at various times. Small kids play area, giant chess/checkers board to keep them entertained 😆 All on the flat so all accessible for wheelchairs etc.

We were a bit disappointed with our visit to Sheerwater Resort this time.. Cooking facilities were restricted to only a 2 burner gas cooktop and a microwave oven, restricting what you could prepare for meals. There was a noise factor caused by the closing of doors each time somebody entered or left their unit nearby.(we stayed in a downstairs unit, as requested due to mobility issues). also we had 4 adults sharing one bathroom/toilet. We had stayed at this same Resort a few years ago which was a multi level unit with an ensuite with Spa, with another bathroom & toilet, and a full kitchen. The restaurant meals were fantastic, although the takeaway Pizza's were not up to the standard that we expected.. Overall, we found the staff very friendly, and the peace & tranquility of this Resort is wonderful...

Pretty much what you'd expect. Food was decent pub fare, no major issues. Slightly more expensive than other places of a similar standard but the only real option in Shearwater for a pub meal.

Unfortunately I dont have too much that is good to explain the food. Wheather we were unlucky, there on a bad night maybe, but we got entrees & mains for 7 people. The entrees weren't too bad, the bruschetta was really the best part of the food, wedges were good. 1 of Our mains, lamb backstrap was really quite awful. Very tough & the sides didn't really match the dish. Maybe a little of that & something soft, like a mash/puree would have been good & made the dish slightly better. The staff were good, that is why the 3 stars. Sorry guys

I personally loved the place. The pools are big, the spa is great, the sauna is relaxing. The food here is to die for. The seafood was AMAZING, and was cooked perfectly through and the drinks were great. I loved it so much. It has a great location for families right on the beach and the staff are friendly and polite. Resort is quite staff very helpful pool n spa great The rooms are big we had one for 6 people the bed was a little hard would be good investment for sheerwaters to invest in some bed toppers The shower is in the bath quite a step in and the hand rail is to low down on the wall needs to be put up higher the staff are excellent very helpful resturant is a little expensive but over all great place to stay Sheerwaters is a lovely little area golf course lovely gift shops and has two op shops lovely area to explore would come back again

Resort has not aged well, rooms are adequate but nothing more. Our shower in the bath barely worked and the toilet was positioned in such a way it seemed like an afterthought. Staff were really friendly and the pool was well maintained just a shame about the aging rooms.

Food in restaurant was great. I used to come here years ago and was often disappointed with the food and menu, but today was most impressed. The steak special was awesome, ample serve and well presented. All three of us enjoyed it. Oh and when you ask for rare, you get rare (unusual in many restaurants)

Can see improvements. Had a nice bbq and swim. Look forward to seeing the spa fixed soon. Spent a bonus week here August 2018. Many improvements have been made. Spa was going again. Tavern's a beauty. Good food. Friendly staff. The resort makes a good base. Beds were a bit on the firm side. We were nice and warm. There are a couple of apartments that cater for people with physical disabilities. All in all couldn't go wrong for the price.

Five of us visited Shearwater on a busy Friday night. We hadn't booked however no problems securing a table. Extensive, varied menu including many specials. One of our guests had been unwell and consuming soup most nights. He had three to choose from the Specials menu which was very impressive. I had seared Tassie scallops (approx 18) presented beautifully in three shells, with pumpkin puree and salad. All my other guests enjoyed their meal choices. Overall excellent.

We stayed in fairways with our family. Great week away, so much good family time. Each year there are continuing little upgrades, which is great. We like the location, the freedom to wander about in a family friendly environment. The staff are friendly and always happy to help with requests. I find the pricing is reasonable for the location and venue.

Loved staying in the beachcom room overlooking the golf course. Nice short walk to the beach. Golf course wasn't perfect and you had to bring your own set. Did not use the golf course in the end as we only had one set with 3 people and would have cost a bit.

The rooms definitely need some upgrades. Bathrooms are old. Kitchens are ok but not enough appliances to cook with considering there's no oven. Decking is ok but no privacy from room next to you.

While camping in Port Sorell, we took the opportunity to book into your restaurant with a group of adults and children (22 in total). The food and the service was excellent. Your staff were very helpful and friendly and we really enjoyed the night. Some people had made comment to us that the place was becoming run down and not up to the required standard. However, for the record, we thoroughly enjoyed our experience and hope to be back again on our next camping trip. Thank you.

I don't generally write reviews nor fill out a businesses feedback form but when I do it is when I've had an experience at one end of the extremes; it was either exceptional or utterly awful. In this case I'm very happy to say that this was such a great experience i would even fly back to visit. I was even asked by one of the employees if there was anything they could have done to make our experience more enjoyable. This is the definition of what proper customer service and exceptional delivery is about. The bar staff, waiters/waitresses, and chefs provide the proper pub experience and the quality was well above the par. Owners/managers, we will be back to shearwater mostly because of you and your staff; please also give the man with that great beard at the bar a significant raise or at the least a pat on the backa, you were the point of difference that left me feeling our experience was special.

The resort was clean, but dated. I had read on one of their sites that they were upgrading and should be completed by July 2018. No, they only toyed with one apartment and this was more an appliance up grade. It was a bit disappointing. The resort fittings are very retro, apricot caroma sinks and with 1970's tiles, all clean and maintained. The downside to this resort is that it is attached to the local pub and both Thursday and Friday night noise was loud from the patrons. This is more an adult resort as there is not a lot for kids to do, tennis and basketball, no scheduled activites for children or adults. The welcome Monday was in the afternoon which meant people missed out as they were still travelling back from their day trip, I always find morning teas allow for the meet and greet with effecting the days travels.

Simple but lovely. The rooms and facilities are well kept and clean but are clearly of the 70s in terms of looks. If you can get past salmon-coloured paint and arches everywhere, the place is perfectly nice.The restaurant is very good for dinner - everything I've tried (and that's a fair bit) was enjoyable. A little bottl-o is on site and there is a grocery shop across the street so if you want to use your kitchenette or the on-site BBQs, that's also an option.

My wife and I spent six days at Shearwater resort and had a wonderful time travelling to the many small towns and glorious beaches in the north of Tassie. The accommodation was very clean and comfortable and the whole experience uplifting. Thanks to all the staff for making my sixtieth birthday a most memorable one.

We had a great, relaxing week here. Lovely unit with everything you could want. Close to beaches, golf and the bistro. We used it as a base to explore to the west and east of Davenport. Fully recommend it.

Safe, clean and a many chance for kids, such tenis, pool, bikes, park. Cross the road is a supermarket, 5 min walk is the beach and kids parks. Great state, free laundry and good beds 😊👌

The management were very accommodating, we had arrived from the airport early and yet they were able to get us into our room. It is a very peaceful setting, set up against the backdrop of the golf course. Close to Shops and a supermarkets (AGI). Plenty of activities if you wish to partake in them. You are only and hour or so to Hobart and other area's and places of interest. The only down side is that maybe the rooms are looking a little tired and a bit of maintainence in the bathroom would be of benefit.

Shearwater Resort is great - fantastic pools and spas, golf course, tennis courts, play areas for kids, games room, bikes, books and DVDs, Beach nearby, bar, restaurant with amazing food and entertainment Friday nights. Staff were very friendly and professional. Rooms comfortable with great showers, TV with Foxtel. IGA supermarket, Subway and other shops nearby and Woolworths and more just up the street. 15 minutes to Devonport and Ferry to Melbourne. Great location for touring along north coast to Burnie, Stanley or down to Cradle Mountain and Gloworm Caves. I will definitely be back again.
