We were so so impressed with our reception at Harbour Room and by Rebecca's responsiveness, professionalism and kindness. She was clear (especially in relation to COVID procedures) and assured us that the little details that we were worried about would all be taken care of, which they were. Our guests raved about the food, and said that the service was impeccable and attentive. It was overall a very enjoyable experience and I would highly recommend Food & Desire and especially Harbour Room.

We cannot begin to thank Food & Desire enough! After our original wedding venue pulled out on us 4 weeks out from our wedding, we were pretty upset. Once we found Carousel it was the perfect match! I could not recommend them more, particularly Rebecca! From the start the communication was effective, timely and efficient. Exactly what you need when you have a month to plan a wedding! They worked with us to have the perfect wedding, everything we dreamed of and more. Originally we were only going to have our reception there but the weather turned horrendous and the day before Rebecca helped us move our ceremony to Carousel. Fitting us in after another event and allowed our suppliers in early so we could have our roof installation in time. They went above and beyond to give us a special and memorable day and I will forever be grateful! The food was incredible and every single guest said it was amazing! The service was impeccable, particularly our bridal waiter Dom, everyone was so impressed. He never forgot an order! I could not recommend Food and Desire more and I will definitely be returning for future events!

We held our wedding at the Harbor Room in St Kilda through Food and Desire. Was a pleasure working with them, they were incredibly responsive and willing to make changes up to the last minute to accommodate everything that we wanted for our special day. The food and drink was amazing and the service on the night was incredible. All of our friends and relatives won't stop talking about how good the wedding was. Would very much recommend anyone to have their wedding with Food and Desire. in future, and indeed to have their wedding at the Harbor Room in the Melbourne Yacht Squadron.

Thank you so much Food and Desire for all your support in helping to ensure our day was all we hoped for and more! The staff here were so helpful and accomodating from Rita, our first point of contact, to Rebecca our event coordinator (and her team) who truly went above and beyond to ensure our wedding was all we expected and more. We had our wedding at Harbour Room in St Kilda and absolutely loved the venue! The food was amazing! So many of our guests said it was the best wedding food they had tasted. As bride and groom we were warned you don’t usually get a chance to eat at your own wedding, but once we tried the beef cheek we made sure to eat because it was so good! The space is so beautiful with the rooftop overlooking the sea and the main room showcasing the sea view through floor to ceiling windows. While we were disappointed that the pouring rain didn’t allow us to have our ceremony on the rooftop, the indoor location was just as beautiful. Thank you once again Food and Desire, and a big thank you to Rebecca for all your support in ensuring our day was memorable and everything was just as we wanted it!

Where do we even start! We have to postpone our wedding 4 times due to covid, and if it wasn't for people like Rebecca at Food and Desire, we wouldn't have made it. She came on the journey with us, and we honestly wouldn't have had the event we did if it wasn't for her. Super organized, her knowledge of the events industry helped us so much as we were quite lost at times. Nothing was ever too hard, or not do-able. We can't thank her enough for what she has done for us in the past 12 months. She helped to create an amazing wedding and somehow made it easy and fun along the way.

We had an absolutely fantastic time at our wedding reception at the Harbour Room! All the staff were fantastic, as was the food, drink and atmosphere! Special mention to the on-the-night co-ordinator, she was fantastic, so on the ball with everything. Our personal waiter for the evening was also fantastic, he was so polite and speedy with getting drinks, etc. The feedback from our guests was also overwhelmingly positive with guests citing the food and drink as amazing and at least one couple saying it was the best food they had ever had at a wedding! The reception for our big day was held at the Harbour Room in the Royal Melbourne Yacht Squadron and the whole experience was flawless. In the lead up to the wedding our POC Rebecca was attentive, professional and essentially made the whole experience fun. There was no request that was too hard. All our guests absolutely raved about the setup, location and food and bev on offer. Would highly recommend Harbour Room and especially our Wedding Coordinator Rebecca, she is an absolute gun!!

Wedding 08/03/20 The Carousel at Albert Park lake is a dream venue for any couple looking for potential places to celebrate the best day of their lives. Welcoming entrance, spacious floors, amazing decking area coupled with the stunning view of Melbourne city are just some of the reasons that we choose this fabulous place for our special day. Food&desire were a pleasure to work with. Event coordinator Liam was incredibly patient and understanding to our needs, despite many last minute challenges that comes with organising a wedding. Our guests had nothing but good things to say about the food and professionalism of the staff members. Highly recommend Food&desire for any of your upcoming events.

Lauren and the team at Food and Desire/Carousel were super accommodating of our request to postpone our wedding due to the effects of COVID-19. Our wedding was due to take place at the start of next year. Carousel were great in getting back to us in a timely and helpful manner, and really made sure that every response was personalised and tailored to our individual circumstance. It really did seem like they were trying their best to ensure our wedding experience was not tarnished due to COVID-19, and that our wedding was their number one priority. This even included meeting with us on a number of occasions via zoom to discuss our options and to explain the process in detail, so as to really make sure we understood everything and were kept informed through each step. We were lucky enough through good management by Carousel and a bit of luck that we were able to postpone our wedding to later next year, and this way our wedding will be able to go ahead as smoothly as possible. My fiancé and I cannot thank the team at Carousel enough for their hard work, dedication and flexibility in this time and for truly ensuring we got the best result in these difficult times. Trying to plan a wedding during a pandemic has been such an upsetting, frustrating and confusing experience. If it wasn’t for our event planner’s compassion, flexibility, professionalism and support, we’d be very tempted to throw in the towel, concluding “it’s just too hard”. Our wedding at Aerial had to be rescheduled, like many others in VIC. Liam (food and desire) has been more than accommodating in organising alternative dates, compromising with us to retrieve most of our deposit back, and overall being supportive and positive. Shaun from Food & Desire has been extremely helpful, responsive and professional in assisting us with postponing our big day. It was a very difficult and uncomfortable situation for us to be in and we also had to acknowledge that things are extremely tough in the entire events industry in Melbourne right now. Shaun brought an open mind to our discussions, listened to what our preferences were and ultimately worked with us to formulate and agree on how we could move forward together. We are looking forward to partying with the team at Carousel after all this Covid-19 stuff is behind us.

A company that pays close attention in creating memorable experiences for their clients.They are very good at working with your specific needs and budget in mind. Being a part of the company most of my colleagues were good. The supervisors are amazing and can teach you a fair bit in planning and executing an event. So if you do want plan on being in the events bizz its surely a great place to learn at. For all the events I had curated alongside my f&d team we fetched alot of compliments and positive feedback for the great hospitality we had to offer successfully delivering the highest level of the food&desire experience. The chefs are amazing and always manage to cook a variety of the most delicious and exceptional food items which leave majority of clients speechless. food&desire has surely been a fun journey for me and a great learning! The people at Food and Desire, particularly Lauren, have been nothing short of amazing during the COVID pandemic. Organising a wedding is stressful at the best of times, so with the uncertainty surrounding whether we'd be able to have a wedding due to COVID, this added another level of stress and worry we were not anticipating. The team and Lauren were empathetic, professional and understanding that the current climate affected both parties and were determined to find a solution that made everyone happy. It's easy during these times to be a little more selfish and to only look after your own, Food and Desire have shown that they won't lose focus on ensuring that their clients are completely happy.

We had our wedding at Carousel in Albert Park (a Food & Desire venue) in January, and everything was sensational. The venue is stunning, the staff were always professional and helpful, and the catering was AMAZING. Our guests still talk about the food and venue. I wish we could have our wedding here all over again!

We held our Wedding at the Harbour Room in March 2019.The Harbour Room is currently operated by Food & Desire. The facility itself, particularly in March was outstanding and we were blessed with a perfect day. In the midst of the Grand Prix, the facility/staff also were able to delay our ceremony to avoid the F18 flyover. The event itself was approx 110 people, at times on our behalf organised late, but Nicole (event staff) was able to work with our late input information and ensure that the event was organised professionally, extremely well presented and with genuine care. The staff on the night were also absolutely phenomenal. We forgot a couple of their names but one of the waitresses and Dom (waitor) were absolutely incredible. They were extremely accommodating, respectful, always around to supply us with with food/drink (even pre-empted our requests) and were enjoying themselves. It's a real credit to the front line staff to perform their role with that sort of enthusiasm and enjoyment, particularly in a high pressure environment such as a wedding. The food for both Gluten Free/Vegan options, as well as our regular selections, was nothing short of outstanding. Quantity, flavour and timeliness of serving again was outstanding. We did however encounter a problem over the duration of our booking where there are 'Friday & Sunday' inclusions (ours was a Friday). The offered a package, where we could add X amount of items free of charge, which prompted us to book. There were no terms and conditions attached to these that were applicable to us, nor stopping the use in conjunction with any other offer. Over the course of a few weeks, they had informed us we could not combine the above package (our requested inclusions were approx 3,000-5,000 in value). We were disappointed in this, and thankfully in my case I had friends on hand who are in the legal field. It took 2-3 attempts to outline that we had been misled about our entitled inclusions as per the package plus inclusions (with negotiation of concessions F+D could/would make). Finally I did end up resorting to submitting a Consumer Affairs complaint. Thankfully, within 2 hours Food and Desire accepted a fair compromise and the complaint was withdrawn. I must say, we were a bit worried about how the event would be held due to the aforementioned reason, but they were ultra professional, caring and fun as discussed, with no ill feeling around the situation that had occurred. In summary, Food and Desire ran an unforgettable event for our wedding. Just ensure that you ask about any additional offers and make it absolutely black and white what you are and are not entitled to. Thanks F+D

We had our wedding recently at Half Acre (venue by food and desire) and had such an amazing experience. Not only was venue modern, rustic and interesting, the food was really tasty, staff were super friendly and our wedding coordinating manager in the lead up to the wedding as well as on the day coordinator were fantastic - very organised and were really able to help with all my concerns and queries.
