Great little place in the heart of the city providing good coffee, lunch and snacks. They do their own roasting here so they know their stuff when it comes to preparing coffee. Baristas are friendly and there’s an assortment of seating available ranging from benches to individual seats. There’s a bathroom on premise but no WiFi available. A coffee will set you back $4. #BeatTheGrind

Coffee was very good, all the staff were so friendly and relaxed: happy to talk about anything. They seem to roast their own coffee beans if you’re into that. But the most amazing part was the food. After a recommendation by a waiter I tried the avo bruschetta. SO GOOD!!! The garnishes made the world of a difference and I found myself very tempted to order another.

Good coffee with friendly enough service. Certainly won't be back anytime soon though because of slow service. Also didnt appreciate the lack of music licences given it was played so proudly and loudly. Brad Nixon, you should consider paying for PPCA and APRA AMCOS licences and display it proudly on your windows. Sample below...

These guys, hands down, do the best coffee in ADL! They also roast their own beans and are the best in SA. As a coffee lover, I used to order my coffee from Five Senses in WA because I couldn’t get what I wanted in SA. Elementary have a good thing going, and their beans are very affordable to use as an everyday at home espresso.

When I worked nearby this was my regular hangs. Big love to these guys ❤️ Excellent coffee, quick service even when they're slammed! The staff are fabulous and remember their regulars (and there's so many of us too that come in) they'll remember your order unless you change it up often and have it out to you in no time! Love that the beans are roasted on site, it's mesmerising if you get a chance to see the roaster on, and the delicious smell of roasting wafts down the street calling you to them haha! Come here for a coffee every time I'm in the area and you should too!

Top quality coffee in a trendy city centre location. Functional coffee roaster on display at the back of the cafe along with lofty ceilings, polished concrete and exposed brick all add to the industrial feel of the space. If you're a cookie fan their cookies are fab too. So much so I had one for breakfast 😋

Unfortunately alot of Adelaide's coffee is very underwhelming in comparison to Melbourne. But this place here has some exciting single origins and the Battista can pull an amazing shot. Just ask him to lead the way with what's good on the day. Great spot

A very hip experience. The kind that you hear about from hipster cafe's in melbourne. In saying that. Nothing about the experience seemed to be a farce or a show. The staff were happy to serve and happy to talk. They knew their coffee and knew their customers. Everyone there was happy to have a chat and to make recomendations, and all of their patron's were pleased with the attention given. The vibe from the Decor was Exposed Industrial, but this was perfectly acceptable as they also had their Bean Roasting equipment on display, and were talking to the customers about their work as they did it. And the Coffee - the important part of a coffee shop review. Smiles all round. Good coffee to enjoy. Flat white was ordered and was a lovely medium roast, very chocolatey flavours, standing out as well as hints of a malt and hazelnut combo. The Hot chocolate was lovely, not too sweet and not too bitter. A thinner mixture than I am used to but was still lovely. The chai, which the barista was happy to advise us "was made in shop and was a standard mix of honey and chai leaves" - and was still better than most loose leaf tea chai's i have tried from companies that specialise in it. Top Work, Crew. The Brew is good.

Very nice little cafe/ roastery. While I keep an open mind, not all extraction methods were created equal... So to find specialty coffee made to order using aeropress did cause me to raise an eyebrow. It was however very well dialled in and delicious, these guys and girls are the real deal. The food is simple but delicious as well.

Industrial aesthetic cafe/roastery in a unique location that almost feels secret! Great tasting coffee, but it's always pretty busy, so try and visit in the off-peak periods to get a table! Regardless of how busy it is, you still get fast service, so don't worry if you're just swinging through for a take-away coffee.

Great modern decor and awesome coffee. I think of an Apple store or some other clean modern vibe when I walk inside Elementary Coffee. Of course the furniture and clean look would mean nothing if they didn't have great food and coffee. The coffee is one of my favourites out of Adelaide and you can see that they are really proud of their coffee craftsmanship. Basically you should go to elementary coffee. It's not going change your life but it might make it a bit cooler.

Went to the one in the train station, sadly the option to rate them wasn't there but the two guys who served me were extremely nice, the coffee is great and the breakfast roll I got (toasted) was high quality and was flavourful, I would recommend.

Delicious Kenyan Short Black, great service. Interesting clothes shop next door. We walked from the Central Market, unfortunately that meant passing the Franklin St Bus Depot, with the ghastly, derelict wasteland on it's Western side. It appears to be a Metro Bus parking zone, arid with pot holes. Needs edging with trees etc in pots. But the coffee on Young St worth it.

There are a handful of places in the Adelaide CBD that I frequent, and this is one of them (time permitting during my workday). They roast their own coffee in the cafe space on Young St, and it's always a treat to pop in. They now offer house made donuts every day of the week Monday - Friday, and are one of the few places you can grab a donut and coffee of equally high standard 💯
