Banter is hands down the best brunch cafe in Brisbane. I have not found another which is consistently as good, or as creative! The food is incredible, and the cafe is extremely well run. A must visit!!!

Best bloody coffee and service, not just in Manly West but Brisbane! Food is great. If you have the time, take a seat and enjoy. I usually use an app to order my coffee in advance because it is so popular.

Very good cafe! The staff were run off their feet and still had excellent service. We had to wait for some tables to clear but that only took a couple of minutes. The coffee was delicious and the food was quite nice. I had the ‘stacks on!’ (vegetarian option - they swap bacon for 1 mushroom). I would have liked to have a bit more than 1 mushroom for the price. The outside area is nothing flashy but is comfortably spaced, which makes the experience enjoyable and doesn’t feel like you’re sharing the table with the people next to you. I’ll definitely be back to try some other meals!

Love the coffee at Banter, it's one of my regular haunts. The food is always amazing too. Big portions and a great selection to suit almost everyone.

Come here for the drinks (especially coffee), but also enjoy the food. My taro latte was done to perfection WRT temperature, consistency (factoring oat milk) and presentation. The waffles I had were not incredible, but a nice sweet; would recommend their savory items more.

Wow! I ordered the breakfast special. It sure was special! One of the best breakfasts you'll have hands down! I had the green smoothie as well! So good! Service was great as well. We'll done Banter crew!

Firstly I was left standing for a good 10 min waiting to be seated, single person and put it down to short staffed, then I was charged $23.50 for 2poached eggs on a single piece of sourdough and a soy flat white, thought that was pretty expensive and should have questioned it at the time, wasn't till after I left that I realised it must have been an error, food and coffee were fine, just a pretty expensive breakfast, won't be doing that again 🤷‍♀️

Great alternative breakfast options! Pork belly tacos for the WIN! Coffee was great and service friendly but not intrusive. Many local people picking up Coffee and breakfast on the way home from a walk/run/gym. Parking easy too. Banter was recommended to me and it was great. Will be back for sure. Oh, and we had a lovely spot in the warm , Winter sunshine!

Banter is definitely the best cafe I have ever visited and has become a staple for family breakfasts and brunch dates. Beautiful coffee, and a unique menu that changes frequently so it's always fresh and always interesting while keeping classics to keep everyone happy. In particular I love the banoffee smoothie and almost always find myself salivating over the unique weekly specials. Great food, great environment, friendly staff.

I frequent banter, it's my local coffee house. There coffee is superb, milkshakes to die for and there brunches are spectacular. Banter has a modern Asian twist on brunch. Koren Chicken Burgers, Karrage Chicken Waffles and Salmon Poke Bowls are just some of the delites you can find here. Menu changes frequently to keep you on your toes

Wow! Just wow! While the price is the average amount for a premium cafe more common in the Manly Bayside area, I have to say that this place does not disappoint. You actually get what you pay for and more. The taste and quality of the food is so delicious. It has a great mix of delicious western and Japanese dishes. They were superb! Although not all the dishes are influenced by Japanese region as there were a few Spanish and Greek dishes as well. The dishes were quite a large portion size, so you definitely get what you pay for. I didn't get a milkshake or smoothie while I was there, but I know what I'm definitely trying next time. I can see this place becoming my new regular in the area! Absolutely loved it!

Went here for breakfast on a Saturday around 8am. Must say, a great local place I didn’t even know about! I had the Garlic Mushrooms and my husband had the Stack On! dish along with a cappuccino and an iced tea. Both meals came out within 10mins of ordering and were amazing! Really delicious, fresh and flavoursome and great portions for breakfast. It is all outdoors and even though the temperature was already rising, it was quite pleasant. Looking forward to going back.

It would be great if they had a "Big Ass Fan" hanging from the ceiling to create a bit of airflow on hot summers days, but that's obviously something their landlord would have to install. By far one of the best places in this part of town. Great vegan options. The seasonal breakky bowl is a go-to and it really is seasonal. Gets changed up regularly. Would love to get my hands on the recipe for the cumin roast pumpkin. Delish!

This place has great food and the staff is awesome. On the flip side. Damn this place's tables and everything on them are disgusting like the underside of a cinema seat. Clean yo stuff dudes! Those salt and pepper shakers are naaaaasty. But the food was seasoned well enough I didn't need it. Get yo cleanliness together and this will get cranked up to 5 staring no time.

Great coffee, staff and yummy sweets. Chocolate brownie is delicious. It would help if Banter joined the “Host Responsibility” movement and offered smaller sizes of sweet treats. You can make the same amount of profit but there’s less waste and smaller waste-lines!
