The one in Mareeba is an interesting place to visit. The aroma of the roasted coffee hits me as soon as we entered. The flat white tastes nice, with robust flavours. And the shop sells lots of interesting trinkets. The chocolate taste nice.

Probably one of the best iced mocha I had here. Really good choices for coffee as well as chocolates.
P. K.
I'm a tourist from Brisbane. It's bloody hot here, but I just had the nicest chilled Strawberry milkshake and a bloody good ham & cheese toasty!
Not to mention the customer service is gold standard 👌 we even got some complimentary liqueurs!

This is the second time we have visited Coffee Works and it didn't disapoint.
Great coffee, cake selection, ice cream and chocolates, amazing goods for sale and the team are so friendly.
Great place to stop in.

Started with a delicious breakfast which came very quick! We had eggs Benedict and signature Hot Chocolate (both pictures) and we're mouth watering. The best hot chocolate I have ever had!
We then went into the tastings where we were able to try 25 types of coffee, 12 types of chocolate, 5 types of liquors and 4 types of teas. After a delicious testing was the museum which was full of information and a wide range of gorgeous coffee and chocolate products! Definately a must go for the family or couple.

Great coffee, wonderful cakes, super friendly staff. The whole setting is quirky and delightfully interesting. Very happy to recommend and would love to return one day.

We called in here to get some nice fresh beans for our coffee machine. We usually buy bold strong sweet style. They’re not doing tasters at the moment, because of covid. So the only way we could ‘test’ was to buy a coffee cup of their black mountain beans coffee. Ok …We decided we could share this cup and we would buy some lunch - pie, salad and quiche. Pie was great, salad was awesome but I wouldn’t recommend the quiche at all. Didn’t seem to be fresh. We decided to buy a bag of the coffee beans, hubby said go buy a couple of bags of some other stuff too. But not being able to taste. Having to refer to a chart only and scratching my head at not being advised which beans were grown where I decided just to get the black mountain one that they say is their own. Oh btw the prices are way up their. We were excited so next morning we poured the beans into our machine but was very disappointed as the flavor was bitter and way stronger than at the shop. Good creama and I’ve since turned the dose down so as not to grind out a double shot and it’s a bit nicer today. Husband thinks the coffee tastes a bit stale. The puk didn’t look good. I think it tastes like the American style they make over their…Burnt roasted. So just a warning to others. If you do buy some you may find it strong bitter and burnt. Shop is filled with lovely gifts if your looking for xssy presents. Especially the Christmas chocolate selections. Just beautiful. But they lost 2 stars on coffee, price and quiche.

A well worth place to visit. We did a day trip and visited here. We had a coffee at their cafe which is in a giant shed-like building and has a boutique shop that you walk through. The coffee was good. Then we did the museum where we sampled various interesting coffees, teas and chocolates. The museum has hundreds of coffee pots from throughout history and all over the world. It was very cool them all displayed. There are good toilets here.

We met a guy in the Cairns market selling the coffee beans from this place and he recommended a trip out to Coffee works for the museum and the coffee. So glad we did. The coffee museum has to be seen to be believed, the guy who originally collected all the coffee paraphernalia had to have been a little touched as there are literally thousands of pieces of coffee history.
The museum is well worth the visit, walking you through the history of coffee from its earliest times in the mid-east, through its expansion into Europe and then the world. Its really well organised and a quality set of displays, you don't often see better in big museums.
With the ticket to the museum comes entry to the tasting room, drink as much coffee and liqueur as you want, eat as much chocolate. By the time you leave the tasing space, you will be vibrating!.
The cafe is good, with great coffee (to be expected) and really good foods. The salads were fresh and the lettuce crunched! I'm not sure how well-known Coffee works is but it deserves to be better known. We will actually now be ordering our coffee from them and having it shipped back to Sydney regularly.
If you want to drive its a nice loop from Cairns, Palm Cove, Port Douglas, Mareeba and back through Kuranda to Cairns.

Mixed experience. You can do coffee tasting and visit the factory and the museum for $19. Not really worth it. The museum was quite impressive - nice collection. But we had to ask the staff multiple times to open it!!! The audio guide was really awful. Inside it is very loud and it is hard to listen to the audio guide. The coffee tasting was sub par. A lot of choice but the coffee was not tasty. Not even the strongest coffee was decent. Coffee is made in the morning - so it is not super fresh. I would rather taste fresh made coffee and have less options. The chocolate tasting was good but rather limited in options. There is no staff in the tasting area to ask something. In the factory you could only see some roasters. Initially the staff told us that today they will not be roasting the day we visited. The liquor is only available at 10. We left right after 10 but there was still nothing to taste. So good for the museum but the tasting is not so good.

Fun way to spend a few hours if you're a chocolate, tea or coffee person. Take the tour if you have time. You can sample as many of the products as you want. Lots of different varieties to try. Hot coffee, iced coffee, coffee liqueur, chocolates and teas. Find the ones you like and then take some home with you. The museum is pretty cool with lots of old coffee related equipment. Lots of history and audio recordings are available for additional information. There aren't many coffee trees here as they are a boutique rosterie but there were a few to trees around the back. You can also have coffee and food at the little on site cafe.

What an amazing experience! Make this a must stop on your travel list while in the Tablelands. The unlimited coffee and chocolate samples are just the beginning, as you can see live coffee trees, watch beans being roasted, and visit one of the greatest museums around. Budget a lot of time to spend here, at least a few hours, because it's easy to get lost in the glory of chocolate and coffee!
N. T.
Great coffee and food, enjoyed the pulled pork burger and Iced coffee. Staff where so friendly and the food came out in a timely manner. So much chocolate to see, looking forward to see the museum next time.
Y. Z.
Coffee, chocolate and liquors are to start for. Staff are very friendly and welcoming. Definitely returning.
S.
Delicious chocolates and coffee, friendly service and a cosy, cute cafe area. The shop also sells pretty candle holders, handbags and decor. Really loved enjoyed our stop here!

When ever we can come back to Mareeba to visit family, Coffee Works is a must. Everything is spot on, food, coffee and customer service.
I always grab some coffee to take back to Sydney, to remind me of home.
B. M.
Delicious almond lattes and a really interesting store. Enjoyed a nice cake and a sample of their chocolates which were also delicious
b.
So many delicious smells! If you are looking for a tea or coffee gift, you will find it there
W. P.
Good coffee. Amazing gelato and sorbet. Top it off with friendly staff. Had a great time
L. A.
Excellent coffee in a pleasant setting. Numerous ceramic and other interesting articles for sale. Well worth visiting when in Mareeba
L. T.
Fantastic place. Able too purchase fancy coffee cups teapots plungers, even leather handbags. Great food available. 👍 👍
片.
Their affogato is the best in the far north, and mocha is the second best!
M. R.
Friendly Staffs, great variety of good coffee! Must visit when in Cairns
Q. M.
What a mixed bag! Lovely concept. Well maintained. Friendly (very) young staff. The downside is that there is only one food/coffee service point with a long queue of indecisive grey nomads in American baseball caps.If you're looking for a peaceful coffee without long queues, perhaps this isn't the place for you to take time out.
R. V.
Great place, food and coffee are amazing. Sadly there's no vegetarian/vegan options for lunch. Another shame is that most (if not all) of the souvenirs of the store are imported and not a great quality. It would be great to use local handcrafts, there's plenty of beautiful things being made around by local hands, and also it's better for the environment.
L. N.
We had breakfast at Coffee Works Mareeba with our good friends. What a great place, good coffee, delicious breakfast of omelette & bacon on cabiatta. Service was very good. We also bought some chocolate & a bottle of coffee liqueur that I can hardly wait to try.
N.
I enjoyed the iced coffees I had here. There were pots of different coffee beans that looked interesting, but I wasn't sure what there was to do with them (try different ones, buy bags only, make blends etc) and there wasn't any signage to help. The store is quite eclectic overall. Will visit again when passing through.
K.
Amazing atmosphere. They also have pretty shop and chocolate workshop. I went there on Friday lunch time, so it was not crowded.
M. P.
Amazing place to stop.
I was unsure about this place as I heard a lot of hype but we were driving past and decided why not check it out?
The first impression was the mouth watering smell from the kitchen, then the huge array of different coffee. The amount of gift ware through the place made it a bit of a treasure maze experience. The food and coffee was delicious.
S. B.
Great gift shop .. lots if cups! Very nice chocolate. Not much in the way of 'eat in' food to have. Coffee nice. Staff nice but slow, or maybe not enough staff. Nice pleasant garden area
J. K.
What a top spot for a visit and you can park the dog too! Staff are all very friendly. The coffee is great and the liquor tasting superb. You just gotta buy some😎
T. S.
Great meals, lovely shakes. Chocolate is the bomb! Charming environment laid back music. A true gem in the tropics!!!
G. G.
Good coffee, plenty of coffee stuff :)
J. M.
The perfct place for coffee lovers !!!
The staff were very friendly and the girls in the chocolate shop have the best job in Mareeba hahahaha
M. M.
Very knowledgeable Staff at the testing station. (Especially your English girl! 😉)
Great Coffee as well.
M. S.
Always worth stopping into when in Mareeba. The coffee selection is great and the chocolate is delicious. I really like the chilli chocolate. Little gem of a place.
林.
Best coffee in Mareeba
G. T.
A wonderful place for all chocophiles out there. Gorgeous dark hot chocolate on soy. The coffee was a double shot for regular coffee order. An artists creation for a shed with many knick knacks for the offline browser. A lovely place to order a coffee and dwell. Or if in a hurry there's always the driveby. Many shots have rung out of through this place. Very well worth a visit. Enjoy!
박.
Great place to enjoy coffee. If you buy a ticket, you can have coffee as much as you can. And there are chocolate also you can have. Awesome!
J. G.
When touring the Atherton Tablelands take time to visit the Crown Jewel. Coffee Works located just off the Main road into Mareeba is worthy of this number 1 rating.
The gift shop is filled with gifts suitable for any occasion. I would say though the coffee and chocolate experience exceeded my expectations.
We left with some beautifully infused coffee beans with an aroma that motivates one to get back home and enjoy.
A worthy stop for any trip.
Y.
Quirky would be an understatement for this place. The layout is unusual and many of the items on sale are definitely of an acquired taste. But I mean that in the best sense of the word. The museum takes the biscuit though. What an amazing collection! And the way it's all displayed is pretty bizarre in places but very informative and well worth a visit.
Of course the whole show revolves around the coffee and chocolate tasting. We were hesitant at first to spend $19 a head on entry for it. But you can help yourself to as many coffee, chocolate and tea samples as you like. On top of that you get a $5 coupon to spend.
Bought a bag of the Serengeti beans and their misty mountain tea - highly recommend. Very nice addition to a day out in Kuranda for visitors to Cairns.
S. B.
Great local sourced coffee. Ask for Landy making the coffee. Won't be disappointed !!
A. D.
Didn't wanna leave
E. H.
Good coffee, atmosphere and friendly staff

A huge thank you to Coffee Works. My original order was lodged at Australia Post but then disappeared. Coffee Works sent a replacement order, were pleasant to deal with throughout.
Items were received in good order. What I have tried are delicious. Loving the dark chocolate coffee beans & lime & cracked pepper chocolate.
Many thanks,
Narelle (Perth)

Great selection of coffees and chocolates to die for. Very courteous staff make for a pleasant break. Can get a bit hot under the unlined corrogated iron roof.
J. W. (.
Great unique atmosphere with friendly staff. Not quite what you would expect but in a good way leaving you surprised. Limited selection of breakfast and lunch items but what they do they do well. The coffee items are were they truly shine. Definitely pop in if you are in the area won't find anything like it around. Environmentally conscious using PAPER straws and providing charging for electric cars.
K. B.
Really cute place to stop when passing through Mareeba. The shop is really lovely with lots to offer. Coffee is delicious too
s. e.
Amazing place, extremely friendly staff and one of the best coffees we've tasted in Australia. We couldn't do the tours unfortunately due to Covid but the place was well organised and set up. Good selection of coffee, tea and chocolates.
k. c.
What a cool place!! No complaints here. Sat and had pecan pie - best one I have ever had. Yum coffee! And we did the tour and got to taste all the coffee and chocolates and liqueurs.. well worth the money. Loved everything so the only down fall was that we spent way too much on stuff that we really enjoyed 🤣
B. A.
Really surprised at how much I loved this little stop over. Brimming with coffee history and incredible antiques, all beautifully presented in a lovely environment to browse and sample. So well planned from the start with distraction material for the kids while us parents went sensory. Finished off with best burger I have had for years. Lovely!
K. T.
The Coffee Works van in the car park is the only place that has NEVER burnt the soymilk in my coffee. Not once! In my experience, that's the sign of very experienced baristas, who value consistency and providing great service.
N. M.
The coffee and hot chocolate was wonderful. The staff in the restaurant were very courteous and friendly. There is a large range of items available for purchase. Prices are a little high (tourist prices). The young woman at reception was outstanding in her client service. I think her name was Trish. All in all, a very pleasant experience
M. G.
Nicely decorated, staff was friendly and very efficient. Had a great stake sandwich and a milkshake that was delicious. The museum was super interesting. Didn"t enjoy the coffee tasting, most were just warm and some coldish. The chocolate tasting was ok, perhaps I would have bought some if it had been located inside the chocolate shop section. The gift shop had same crafts you usually find in other touristy spots.
G. M.
Awesome place to have a light snack. The staff are friendly and helpful. The only down side is it is very very hot in the summer, they definitely need more cooling and fans.
M. B.
Nice atmosphere, delicious drinks and chocolates, beautiful decorations for sale.
A. P.
This place had great coffee, liqueurs hence we bought one, latte liqueur bloody taste awesome to put on my new bar
N. J.
Excellent BLT. Unfortunately I'd already had a coffee today. They looked good here. Mud cake was good too.
D. H.
Lovely place to visit if passing... didn’t do the tour but had a lovely coffee and bought some nice flavoured coffees and chocolates.
Only drawback was that we paid $9 for two slices of toast and some hummus for our 2 year old as they couldn’t charge us less than the standard child’s dish.
D. C.
We enjoyed our Coffee and Chocolate tasting. The Museum was very interesting and informative.
On a different note the decorative items for sale were very very expensive example they were selling a butterfly tile for $58 but a very very similar one was $31 in Atherton. I could have bought so much but too expensive.
P. W. P.
Interesting coffee tasting and museum, I would say a bit over the top. But the coffee was great.
T. D.
Worth the drive, great place for the many different types of coffee & chocolate also friendly staff as well.
H. J.
Amazing place to buy a gift or homewares. Plenty of coffee and tea available to try. Chocolates delicious. A bit underwhelmed by the tasting experience, but maybe cos we visited at the end of the day the coffee didn't taste as fresh or full bodied as expected. Museum has an amazing amount of coffee related paraphenalia in it.
A. “. B.
Mareeba store, Awesome coffee loverly place to stop on your road trip and chill, awesome staff and lots of gifts to choose from. And the carrot cake was awesome.
B. L.
I went to coffee works with a group of about 13 and as expected the coffee was awesome but to my surprise the eggs bennedict was amazing.
We also did the museum and it was well worth it as you have coffee, chocolate and liqueur tastings. They also have $5 discount cards so it only costs $14
T. P.
WOW!!! Fantastic coffee, and varieties of chocolate unlike any I've ever tried before. Service was amazing too! On top of that, a gift shop with really cool and quirky things. Great experience beyond all expectation.
W. W.
Great spot for a coffee and some eats. Shop has many locally made items available for purchase to suit any occaision. Frendly and helpful staff.
B. C.
Popped in there today. Wow wow wow wish we had more time. Had a great coffee, bought some amazing chocolates. We now look forward to buying our beans online.
A. F.
Beautiful shop and its got a nice different vibe. We ordered large mocha and it was smooth. Really loved it! Thx to whoever made it.
L. J.
Had a fantastic visit today. The staff are amazing, the cold brew is to die for and the food was great. Thoroughly enjoyed the chocolate tasting as well. Will definitely be back!
C. S.
We took the family (kids all grown up) for the coffee tasting tour and museum. We spent the whole morning (about 3 hours,) there is lots to see and taste!
We were lucky enough to be there when there were ripe coffee beans on the trees! (July) and learned about the processing and history of coffee in a very hands-on way. I highly recommend coffeeworks for anyone with an interest in coffee, tea and/or chocolate it's an experience not to be missed!
Staff are delightful, food and drinks at the cafe very good, colourful zany gift and homewares for sale and just a wonderful atmosphere.
S. T.
I don't even like coffee and this place was fun!
For like 14 bucks (5 dollar discount if you bring in a coffee works pamphlet) you can drink as much coffee and eat as much chocolate as you like. They will even offer your kids non caffeinated delicious drinks and offer adults espresso for free!
Besides this, they have a massive collection of coffee paraphernalia from all over the world and an audio self guided tour.
The food is amazing...I recommend the brisket sanga....I'm from Texas and I'd say the BBQ here could hang.
Beautiful place...pricey gift shop but def worth 2-4 hours if you have it.
w. m.
Awesome experience, don’t eat or drink anything before hand. The museum was interesting to see how we have come so far in the making of it. Will be putting a order online for liqueurs.
R. K.
Friendly service and nice options, but ultimately an overpriced tourist trap. $12 for an iced mocha and an Earl Grey. And what kind of coffee shop doesn’t offer WiFi for its customers? Not worth the short detour.
L. B.
- having take away coffee and was delicious! don’t know if I had that good coffee in Australia ever. staff was very nice! coffee wasn’t overheated just perfect 👌🏼
I. M.
We have been buying our coffee here ever since we visited more than 10 years ago. Fantastic coffee to suit every taste. Mail order service is prompt and efficient. Will need a very good reason to stop buying our fresh coffee anywhere else.
K. A.
I just went in for a look around. It's pretty busy in there today, so I head out again.
