What a beautiful, hidden cafe on Charlotte St! Love the lighting and overall fitout. Great coffee and super friendly staff. Just the music can be a bit loud sometimes.

I have visited the caffe over the last 12 months and have found the staff friendly and very efficient. I have to say that I have been coming in at 6am and that might have contributed. Coffee is always nice strong and with a mallow taste and not bitter at all. As a drink mine without milk I can attest for other coffee. I have tried a range of slices, muffins, cakes and biscuits and they have always been grate. Today’s Orange & Almond slice is no exception.

What a great atmosphere for a very busy coffee and go. The young staff were awesome and efficient. The conga line for ordering was fast moving and everyone seemed chatty while waiting for their takeaway coffee. Staff were taking orders at an extraordinary rate per minute without any issues. Well done to the designers of this fast paced coffee espresso shop. This high energy atmosphere did not need pumping music or loud shouting staff, it just was exciting to be part of. Well done to these young staff.

Cool little cafe. Very busy in the morning but they have a good system so can pump out the orders pretty quick. Very friendly staff. Come here three to four times per week and haven’t had a bad experience. Still need to try the espresso martini’s on a Friday afternoon...that will be the real test!

My go to place for coffee during the work week. They are great! One of my struggles when I changed jobs was to find a new go to place for morning hot chocolates. I am very fussy with my drink and usually hate the milk with some chocolate dust that most places sell... Espresso Engine has taken my special order of +extra choc to make it dark and continually delivers a great drink that saves a lot of my mornings. So thanks guys!

Amazing coffee. Great service. Try the vegan toastie. Roast veggies in a toastie ... amazing. Have to stop myself from having one daily. Place is always packed with people, a testament to the quality and consistency of their baristas. They are quick even when they are super busy.

Coffee place of choice in that area of the city. I walk past other coffee places to get to this one up the top of Charlotte Street near George Street. I highly recommend this place. This is a great little cafe tucked away underneath the street level on Charlotte St. It's a very cosy and modern set up, with upbeat staff and a decent menu for light meals. The $10 lunch special for a coffee/hot chocolate and a toasted ham and tomato relish sandwich keeps me coming back time and time again.
