Absolutely amazed by the flavour and quality of food by this hidden gem in Clayfield.
Firstly the food looks beautifully presented and is packed with flavour. 10/10 to all these dishes.
All staff we met were extremely friendly however the stand out was a waitress named Regina who was ever so welcoming from beginning to the end of the experience there.
Parking is not the easiest here however as the cafe is always so busy that most of the time the street parking infront is taken.
Highly recommend coming here!

Coffee was presented well with good robust flavour. We ordered corn fritters & chilli eggs. Not enough chilli in the eggs for my friends taste, but a good dish. Fritters were delicious, crispy outside & soft inside with lots of corn. Accompanying Salsa was nice, avocado was a bit mushy could have been chunkier for my taste but on the whole a good dish

Beautiful food, lovely coffee, and such a nice atmosphere here. Even at their busiest, it’s worth the wait. Staff are so friendly, it feels like you’re in your own home kitchen.
The best avo on toast I’ve ever had, and I like to think I’ve had more avo on toast than I’ve had hot dinners in my life! 🤗
Street parking is ample, too.

Large cafe with a pleasant interior and would be good for groups/families. The service was friendly, but the food and drinks were pretty slow to come out. One of our drinks was even forgotten, although when staff were informed of this, they did fix the issue quite quickly. My food (mushrooms) was tasty but unfortunately very cold and I didn't enjoy the creamy paste in the bread, so have rated my experience accordingly.

Loved the Persian eggs (20 AUD), the caramelised onion yogurt was such an amazing pairing - added halloumi (6.5$) and sautéed spinach (5$) for some more sustenance - 9/10
The avo toast was lovely and well seasoned - we added poached eggs (18$ + 4$) - 8/10
Breakfast Burger (18$) there was smashed avo in the burger and that was an amazing addition - burger was a little small but maybe we were just super hungry 😅 - 8/10
Swimmer Crab Linguine (26$) - tasty, we added some salt and pepper for some more flavour 7/10
Eggs Benedict (24$) - 7/10
Prana Chai Latte was a huge highlight (7$), frothy, warm, sweet, and gently spiced - 10/10
Strawberry Split Smoothie (9.5$) - 7/10
Latte - 10/10

Great food, Seven Miles coffee & kid friendly. It’s cool how they have kept the history of the place have the original aquarium sign with kids ocean animals. Love it!

This cozy cafe has left the best impressions! Hospitable hosts, we had a lovely Irish friendly waitress ☘️
delicious dishes, beautiful presentation, real chocolate on the cappuccinos was such a treat I recommend to everyone! I would like to come back here again and again.

After a long period of waiting, we finally made it back to Let Minnow. This time we dined in and had brunch.
I grabbed a skinny cap and my partner had a soy flat to begin with. When the coffees came, we were a bit disappointed as they got the order wrong. We ended up having the coffees and thought they were good. I liked how the milk was frothed and that the espresso offered a hint of bitterness.
Food wise, I had their egg Benny with bacon and mushrooms on the side, while my boyfriend the crab omelette. Starting with mine, I thought the Benny was divine, with perfectly poached eggs and deliciously sautéed spinach. The croissant was flaky and buttery. The bottom half went soggy in the end but was still quite nice, especially coated the hollandaise sauce and egg yolk. The bacon was well cooked and came in a decent portion. The mushrooms were juicy and tender. The omelette was good but we both thought it could have used a bit less salt. On the first bite, I could easily taste the freshness from the crab. As a matter of fact, the whole thing was packed with crab flesh, which we thought was really decent. My partner did tell me after we left the cafe that he found a piece of either crab shell or egg shell in the omelette, which was a turn off for him. For that and the saltiness of the dish, I cannot give them 5 stars. Hopefully next time we visit, it won’t happen.
Service wise, it was absolutely brilliant. The waitress who greeted us was friendly and attentive and made us feel at home. Everything came in a timely fashion. The whole place offered a chill and relaxing vibe. No doubt we will come back again.

The food in this place was incredible. Goof portions, and great taste. The Milkshake special was amazing. Coffees were good also.
I went there in a Sunday morning, place was busy but we did not have to wait to be seated.
You gotta order from the counter, food is taken to your table.
Great service and friendly staff.
Absolutely recommended.

What a cute little gem. Found this place on google and read the reviews, they where very up and down but gave it a go anyways. And happy to say it was amazing, the service was excellent, the coffee was smooth creamy and hot. We had the Eggs Benny with sour dough instead of the croissant, the eggs where runny, bacon was crispy and that hollandaise sauce was perfection rich creamy and lemony.
Definitely going back for Sunday brunch 😊
N. t.
Had crab linguini & waygu burger. The wait was quite long but the place does look busy. Would come again
D. C.
Great little cafe - a hidden surprise really. So many good things on the menu, it was truly hard to choose. Good coffee, good service ... Just a fantastic place to meet for lunch. Highly recommend it!
Y.
Absolutely fantastic..perfect coffee..perfect friendly service.. beautiful atmosphere. Chefs obviously know what seriously tasty food should present as.. highly recommend.
J. C.
Been here a few times and always left very happy with the experience.
Often a wait for seating as its pretty busy on the weekend but well worth it once you get seated. Staff are really friendly and you can tell they have a great working environment. Coffee is always good and the food is some of the best Brisbane has to offer in the breakfast cafe scene.
Will be back again soon.

Food we had were all lovely - but the Minnow Eggs dish could have had more fresh veges to cut through the relish.
Turmeric latte was nice & coconut milk was not overpowering. The vanilla latte tasted like a regular latte & I couldn't find a scent/taste of vanilla...
Overall, lovely atmosphere to catch-up with friends & family.
K. R.
Such a groovy vibe! Love the aquarium themed fish/octopus art and decor! Food is equally good and great coffee! Gem of a Cafe!!
M. W.
We visited for breakfast on a Friday & had attentive & friendly service from our arrival. We ordered coffees, fruit toast & forages fritters which arrived quickly - both were fresh, full of flavour & good serving sizes. I found the menu to have a great range of options; I plan trying the muesli next!
I noticed many fresh wraps & sandwiches in the glass cabinet - again, lots of options to choose from. Kudos to the funky menu names too!

We went to this cafe on a Saturday mid-morning (peak hour). The menu had several interesting choices but is very limited for anyone who does not eat bread or eggs.
The cafe was extremely busy and whilst it had a nice cosmopolitan vibe the cafe staff just couldn’t keep up with the demand of patrons.
We ordered 6 meals and they did not arrive on time. Three arrived after about 25 mins and the 4and 5th ones arrived about 10 mins later but we had to ask for the 6th meal which had been forgotten altogether. One meal that was delivered to us was in fact incorrect and was taken away after our friend had already started eating.
It made him feel uncomfortable and awkward and it generally just came across that staff were simply too young and inexperienced to be able to cope with high turnover and so much demand.
I wish I could have given this cafe a higher rating but based on our experience a 3 is almost generous. The large coffee comes in a huge mug and was top notch value. The kids menu is diverse but orange pancakes were a no-no. They don’t have a plain pancake option for kids which made me wonder if the person planning the menu even has children of their own. I don’t know many young kids who would eat pancakes with orange rind!
I think this cafe is quaint and has so much to offer especially on a quieter day when floor and kitchen staff could hopefully cope better under stress.
It’s a lovely coffee cafe addition to clayfield but I would suggest that the cafe owners remove about 20% of their tables in house and focus on better and more consistent quality of service rather than under delivering to a bigger group of customers when the venue feels so loud, cramped and overwhelmed.
Hope you have a better trip. A week day should be much better since the food itself seemed reasonable in quality.
I will however add that one of the family members at our table got horribly sick immediately after having breakfast there and was perfectly healthy before arriving at the cafe. I have no idea if it was the food? It seems likely but the rest of us were fine.
Some improvements could definitely be made. Best of luck to cafe owners. It would be nice to see this cafe succeed with a bit more hard work and focus on customer’s dining experience.
G. M.
Delicious and creative meals, with lots of variety. The location is great too, with plenty of roadside parking.
C. T.
Had a fantastic breakfast experience here recently and would love to return. The staff and atmosphere of the restaurant was wonderful and added to the experience for myself. The coffee was very good and so was the daily special mango smoothie. The food was very good and the mushrooms in particular were a top addition to my meal.
M. S.
Came here for brunch today and it was such a pleasure. Service was fantastic despite how busy they were. They were able to cater to coeliacs with no fuss. And their savoury waffles are so good! We also had some great coffees and cold pressed juices which were all made fresh. Will defiantly be coming back with the family. Just be aware that there is only street parking and there may be a wait for tables if you are coming during peak times.

Every part of this cafe is perfect. The staff and owner are personable and always happy to help. The food is full of flavour, cooked to perfection and are good portion sizes (too big for me). Whilst I don't have kids this place is super accommodating, kids fun cutlery and heaps of crayons and colouring pages. Please check it out!!

Nice little surprise in suburban Brisbane. Beautiful decor, great food and good service. These guys have got all the basics right and are equally good in the food they service.
Very reasonably priced and the food taste good. The fact that they have a special for every day, makes you want to go there more than once.
A. R.
First experience here was great. Great food and coffee, and service. Will definitely be back
I. M.
Absolutely delicious, friendly service and our meals and drinks came out very quickly. I had the French Toast, amazing.
A. T.
Nice spot for breakfast. Great meal and the staff were nice. But some of the cushions are questionable (if you know you know)
A. G.
Lovely atmosphere, the staff are so friendly and happy to help with anything! The food is delicious and came out quite quickly
L. R.
What a wonderful place to catch up with a friend over a cuppa and a bite to eat... I loved the welcome greeting from a staff member as soon as I entered the door... I ordered the fruit toast... it was very filling and my friend and I could have probably shared it... So many tempting treats in the cabinet even without looking at the menu... it got busy at 9am... definitely worth a visit...
M. E.
In addition to fast and friendly service, the puns that are items on the menu are second to none! 👌
Pictured is the "Sail The High Cheese" burger and it was delicious. And who doesn't love a giant pickle on top! I will certainly be coming back so I'll have "Something to Waffle On About". 5 ⭐
R. G.
Fantastic cafe with great mix of food from super healthy to full comfort food. Great coffee and drinks selection plus a kids area (and toilets/baby change facilities inside, no key attached to a spoon required!). Dog friendly outside as well. They have water bowl for dogs and doggo biccies.
R. Y.
Great food in a funky set up. The staff were all super and food came out ridiculously quick even though we were there at a busy time! Can't wait to go back to eat through the rest of the menu.
D. K.
Really nice little cafe. Food is great staff are friendly and helpful. 10/10 would recommend.
L. P.
Great coffee friendly staff, fantastic food. Must try top 10 on the north side for cafes
D. T.
I googled top cafes in Brisbane and Minnow came up. Food was brilliant, the service was excellent and the cafe is perfect for family catch ups or a breakfast with the special someone. You'll be greeted warmly and feel like you're eating in a friendly and relaxed environment.
Yep it is one of Brisbane's top cafes
C. D.
Excellent food usually but we thought the avo on toast had too much garlic on the accompanying spread ,pity better luck next time
M. M.
Excellent, yummy food and very friendly service in a great suburban location

First timer, coffee and food are great. Good service. I found a bit noisy sitting inside. Will come back again.
K. W.
The food and service here is awesome five star rating

Somewhere that had been on the "places to go" list for a while, I decided it was time to go. It's a cute little place, refurbished from the old Clayfield aquarium. Fish themed without much fish on the menu. What is on the menu sounds super tasty though. And from this experience, I would say it is pretty tasty too.
The service was pleasant, it's a order at the counter job. The service was prompt and the prices reasonable. The staff were mostly fairly well presented. They were friendly and not in your face the whole time. They also didn't rush to take the plates away, a bit of a frustration for me when people are still eating.
The food. I went for something different and tried the amazebowls. Silly pop culture puns aside, this was tasty. Dragon Fruit smoothie is an idea I haven't seen elsewhere and it was yum. It came with some dried fruit granola, coconut and cocoa nibs. An impressively considered combination.
The coffee is good and sourced from Byron. The golden milk an interesting combination of spices in a warmed coconut milk... And bright yellow.
All up a pleasant experience with good service, tasty food and drinks and a pleasant quirky atmosphere.

Cute cafe/bar in Kalinga. The coffee was good, although the toasted pumpkin sandwich needed slightly more flavour. The staff are friendly and welcoming.
S. L.
We loved our family breakfast at Let Minnow. Something for everyone and friendly service.
H. W.
Food excellent & tasty. Atmosphere great. Great place to have brunch, & the coffee is great. Nice & friendly staff, service very good.
Y. G.
Very friendly staff. The food did take a while to come HOWEVER they were very apologetic and the waffles were INCREDIBLE!!! Will definitely be back and is definitely now one of my favorite cafes!
S. L.
Used to love this place. There was a fun menu, with varying options and quick service. Even through covid it was busy with a great choice of options.
Sadly I don't know what has happened. Gone are the cute tables outside. Gone is the funky menu. Gone are the array of toasties in the cabinet.
The vibe is gone, I don't know what has changed :(
3 stars because the coffee is still good, and the menu at least has some variety. But it's a downgrade from my 5 star that used to be here
S. E.
Fabulous crab pasta and coffee ☕. The right portion size. The Cafe is a hidden gem in plain sight. Thank you 🤗
G. H.
Nice coffee and relaxing location. Didn't eat but scanned the menu which looked very good at reasonable prices. Great place to catch a weekend breakfast
T. T.
Lovely cafe with great food and friendly waitress, however service time could be improved.
K. L.
Great place to meet friends. Food and drinks were spot on
J. C.
Cafe with real character in a leafy location with plenty of on street parking. Extensive menu, quality food & friendly staff. Let Minnow Café even produce their own honey! Highly recommended.
S. P.
I had a delicious lunch here! Lots of healthier options on the menu as well. I had the Falafel taco bowl and a smoothie. Friendly service and a very relaxing spot to sit.
T. R.
Absolutely amazing experience. all the staff were actually so kind and hospitable. will definitely come back.
M. H.
Great range of breakfast and brunch options! Can be extremely busy weekends so consider booking a table. Lots of gluten free and vegetarian options!
I. C.
Food and coffee was amazing but I wish they did a larger sized coffee
H. F.
Met friends but we were only picking them up for airport. The coffee was great, we had a second. The ambience was very welcoming, service excellent.Friends raved about heir food. Will prioritise going back to eat.
N. L.
Plenty of street parking. The cafe is situated in a quiet neighbourhood. Plenty of seating catering for solo, couples or groups. A wide range of selection for breakfast and staff are attentive. Coffee was delicious.

Good food, good environment, friendly staff
M. D.
Very friendly and welcoming and the food is amazing 😋 will definitely be back 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
E. B.
Great food! Lovely atmosphere, the staff are very friendly. The cafe is always busy.
J. C.
Delicious food, great service and nice atmosphere
F. B.
Love the coffee from here! Definitely stock up on Bear and Beard beans if you are in the area.
M. L.
It was good, although very busy this morning. Food was really delicious, I had the minnow eggs poached with bacon - the eggs were cooked really well and the bacon was nice and crispy. The only issue was the coffees that we ordered at the beginning came out after we had almost finished our food. I'd definitely go back again
T. S.
Great find. Coffee was perfect and poached eggs on sourdough with tomato relish hit the spot. Although what I ordered was simple it was perfect. Service was Outstanding I'll be back. Thank you.
D. D.
Nice little cafe. Inside and outside seating. Great service and friendly staff. At table ordering. Drinks are ordered before meals. Small but good range food with displayed dietary requirements eg. Gluten free. Has fully licensed bar.
b. c.
Really happy about my avocado on crusty toast with hummus, dukka, crunchy nuts, fetta and beetroot slices! The delicious generous portion from the brunch menu was accompanied by the "Green", a freshly made juice with spinach, cucumber, kiwi, apple and ginger. My young daughter had the same meal with "Soap" juice, made with strawberries, orange, apple and pineapple. Glad we decided to visit for a quick lunch (the place closes at 2:30pm) after a few hours spent at the neighbourhood park. Also thanks to the tasty meal, my daughter finally ate fetta and beetroots, something that was always hard to let her try. Staff members were kind and smiling but I wish, next time I will visit, to be asked if I wanted the receipt. I do really recommend the place though.
R. W.
I got the roast chicken salad takeaway for lunch. It was fabulous. Tasted how you would expect it to if you ate it at your Mum's place on Sunday.
M. W.
Absolutely outstanding! Service is phenomenal and food is delicious. The most beautiful little place in Clayfield.
L. B.
First time visit today and we are hooked. The serving portions are big, prices are great and taste is exceptional. We had an avo with 2 extra eggs for under $20, yes under $20. Also the waffles. These were well presented, arrived in a timely manner and left us full but wanting more.
Exceptional service, outstanding food and prices. Will be our local brekky place.
D. S.
Great atmosphere, good coffee, friendly staff, tasty food
E.
Generous servings and nice atmosphere, cute cafe!
V. K.
Cute little cafe. Came here for brunch on a Sunday and it was very busy, but still managed to get a table right away. The staff were very friendly and the food and fresh juices were delicious. The only complaint I have is that we were seated inside and there were SO many flies. I know it's not necessarily the fault of the cafe, but it was really annoying swatting flies away from our food every 20 seconds or so while trying to eat our meals.
J. D.
Good food, very friendly.
D. H.
Amazing coffee and even though I’m not a local the owner made me feel like one and that’s what I appreciated the most
P. H.
Very busy and very popular with people waiting in the street for their orders.Pleasant staff but food was just average. The bacon I added to my eggs was very salty but the scrambled eggs and sourdough bread was fine. The pancakes my friend had were too dry for her taste. Coffee was the usual cafe temperature for Brisbane - just warm enough. Portions however were large. Overall would not recommend. If you do want to go I advise booking a table for the popular times.
K. D.
Great menu with plenty of options for fussy eaters. Staff were very friendly and the atmosphere was energetic, but a little noisy inside. Pricing was reasonable and the portion sizes were generous. Lovely spot for a catchup with friends
B. J.
Good Food. Great coffee. Lots of options at reasonable price. Both food and Coffee came out very quick and was nice and Hot! Definitely would recommend. Coming here again.
K. T.
Visited on a weekend so it was very busy, and the food took almost an hour, but we don't mind that. We waited 10 minutes for a table, which was totally fine with us. It's very toddler and child friendly, we had a little one in tow and it was great. Staff are really friendly and attentive, and they had gluten free dairy free waffles! Caters for a lot of dietary requirements.
T. T.
Always a good experience. They have changed to table service which went smoothly for us. They always have a unique selection for breakfast. The savory waffles were delicious and its an ideal place for Brunches. Dog friendly outside so its a perfect spot to have some brunch then walk the dog to the park down the road.
k. p.
Amazing service an good tasting food
Thanks guy's
J. B.
Long term fan of this place but the last couple of visits have just let us down massively.. went for Mother’s Day and again today and unfortunately won’t be back anytime soon. Went today in a group of 6, waited a good 20-30 minutes for the coffees to come out. No water was brought to the table, and when asked - was only provided with 3 glasses. Told by the waiter that he would bring more only for him to go off and wipe down tables, waited another 10 minutes for glasses before we got them ourselves. Food came out after 40 minutes or so - not provided with any butter for any of the meals etc. so had to ask again. Poached eggs came out rock hard and looked like a hard boiled egg. Asked for replacement and was provided thankfully. All the staff seem to be side tracked and never finished one task well before moving on. Real shame but just seems like another place that’s surviving on a reputation...
B. A.
Great food and coffee, only downside is how busy they are because of how good they are.
M. P.
We love Let Minnow for a coffee or a weekend brunch, so it was our first choice when we wanted to cater for a birthday party. The team are always friendly and helpful. The ordering and delivery process was super easy and the food was delicious 👌🏼😊 Thank you so much Garry & team!
S. M.
Great little Cafe 😁 food and coffee ☕ great 😁 very friendly staff 😁
J. W.
Really enjoyable breakfast with friends. Interesting food. Incredibly busy but the food was fast and all the cafe hands were bustling around with a lovely smile and energy. Didn't have to wait 15 minutes for a coffee that was still created with a beautiful design on the top.
Definitely coming back soon!
P. K.
Great food and drinks. I took my friend here while she was visiting as this place has been labeled as one of the best cafes in Brisbane. Don’t get me wrong, everything tasted great and the staff was super friendly... however we didn’t like that my meal came out first (and I ordered a few minutes after my friend) and worst of all that her meal and drink didn’t come out for about 20 minutes after mine did which resulted in me finishing my meal and drink and her only just getting hers. We just thought it would make sense to have both drinks and meals come out at once.
K. F.
All in all, I would have to say average. For what there is available throughout Brisbane, this sits in the ok spot. I've been 3 times. I was reasonably satisfied the first time, and the second time was not bad! But the third time, was terrible. So I think 3 as an average is fair. Ultimately it's a bit overpriced and underwhelming.
I think recently maybe they changed owners, or chefs. Just to get a visual, I recently bought the fritters. As a set meal it's approx $18. I added bacon making it $21. I ate the entire meal in less than 5 mins. It was unacceptably and embarrassingly small. I'm not over-exaggerating. I got 2 tiny fritters, a small egg and a handful of baby spinach. It was a joke for $18. Even with the bacon at $21! it was dismal. It would have been suitable for a small girl (or Hobbit). The other order had burnt toast and about a teaspoon of the relish, which is what was meant to be the foundation of the entire meal. Additionally, there were only a few people in there, and our orders took about half an hour, and we got them after 2 tables that we ordered before. I let them know in a polite manner to help with constructive criticism, they were apologetic and offered about a $7 discount for my next visit. I know they meant well, but I won't need that discount unfortunately.
So I'm not saying write them off, hopefully they become a little more humble and put in a little more effort. It appears they've had a good rating for quite a while and become a bit complacent. I just won't head back there, because as I said, there's way too many great options throughout Brisbane to persist with poor service these days.
D. G.
Lovely menu delightful service pleasant surroundings
t. e.
Great little place. Worth it just for the puns in the menu
H. T.
Great seasonal menu that updates frequently with exciting and interesting options. Service I always friendly, though it gets busy so can be a little slow and is worth giving yourself a bit of time to enjoy it. Coffee is excellent 9/10 times and horrible the one time - I put it down to the barista you get on the day.
Worth booking a table if it’s a group of 5+
J. R.
Very lovely service. I got the Old School toasty, it was delish, the ham was sliced off the bone, flavoursome and thick cut served with a beautiful smear of mustard on the side, which I dipped my toasty in - sooo good. My friend got a burger and loved it. Both our juices were great. We also got a side of chips to share and I couldn't stop eating them! Overall, a pleasant lunch experience, we will be back.
M. W.
Let me start by saying the coffee here is fantastic, very smooth and delicious. But the breakfast was not as smooth... Food quality was fine, but for the price, in my opinion was not really worth the price tag. Kind of niche and not really my first choice.
R. M.
Delicious food and excellent coffee. Inside is pretty noisy on a weekend but if you can get a seat outside it's a little more relaxing. Great menu and some different dishes not just the usual daily grind.
Down side: it is pretty expensive for the size of the meals you get. For $18-$20 I would expect at least two pieces of toast/cibatta with some of the menu options. Left us a little hungry.
R. H.
Good location and easy Street parking
B. A.
Let Minnow is my favourite place to go for breakfast! I take everybody here. The coffee is wonderful. The food is delicious and good portion sizes. The staff are always happy and friendly. It truly is a great little breaky spot. It can get very busy, but it is worth the wait!
K. S.
Not too bad but don't ask for extra hot coffee, they make a note of your request but it comes to you as "warm".
H. J.
My all time favourite cafe. House baked goodies instead of day old cheesecakes, super family and dog friendly and trendy, always super helpful and friendly staff. The food and coffee are always delicious and the menu is diverse from more interesting items to crowd pleases.
Q. A.
Tasty food and drink. It can get very busy. 30min+ wait
W. L. B.
Just love this little funky cantina...always busy
My goto for a great coffee - big smiles - good laugh - and fabulous food...☕💖
T. D.
Great little local cafe/restaurant. Very popular with the locals.
Lovely meals and good value. Offering adaptable menu to suit your wants and needs.
Licenced with a good range.
Very friendly and helpful staff.

The reviews of Let Minnow are great. We were drawn to this place for mother's day, and enjoyed it. But I found it a dissapointing experience the second time around. The coffe was bland, tge cakes and muffins dry. It all looked good, but the taste was a let down. The service was great however, attentive, but not overly so, and fast. I don't feel that it's a family friendly place, more a place for hipsters to hang out and Instagram the food. I won't be in a hurry to go back again.
J. K.
fantastic customer service - they went the extra mile to make a pregnant girl feel comfortable. the food and coffee was awesome too. we will definitely be back :)
C. C.
Came here with entertainment book offer.
Came in on a Thursday after peak time lunch hour which is aroud 1pmish.
Lovely interior and a little kid corner (with a lot of flies though, which def put me off)
Ordered a mushroom dish (can't rmb the name) but it was a small serving.
And the chicken burger (which you can never go wrong) and didn't disappoint us as well with the sweet potato chips.
*One really plus thing about this cafe would be the bathroom got a changing table for the little one. clean and nice, really appreciated of the thought.
E. W.
This place gets busy, and for good reason - they have definitely earnt a good reputation through their service. Can't fault the food, and they do offer some different food and drink options than most other breakfast joints. However, don't expect a quiet sit-down meal if you intend to visit during normal peak hours!

Peaceful atmosphere, chill music and classy deco, friendly staff and most importantly really good food.
An amazing place to chill with friends on a breezy morning. 12/10 highly recommend.
K. A.
Went here for Saturday brunch a few weeks ago for my birthday, and we got a lovely table outside.
Good service, lovely food. Servings are generous and nice plating
The chai frappe was DELICIOUS!
J. D.
Another suburban eating gem. Had a great breakfast here with family. Glad we arrived at 8:00am as about 80% of tables were already filled by then. There are plenty of tables but this place is very popular; with good reason.
I had fresh cold pressed apple juice with poached eggs on sourdough toast with tomato relish. Plenty of extras were available to be added e.g., bacon, mushrooms; or with scrambled eggs. Perfectly cooked eggs.
All at a very reasonable price. $11 for eggs on toast and $6 for a large glass of fresh juice.
The child menu is just as extensive as the main menu.
B. W.
A well presented cafe situated on a suburban street in Clayfield. Tried this spot today after reading reviews and was not disappointed. The staff are friendly and the meals + coffee delicious. Get in early or make a reservation because you may have to wait a little bit for a table. It's a popular place on weekends!
B. R.
Pro tip: book ahead, and request an outside table. You can book online.
Good things: food is excellent, beautiful suburban views, ordering and food delivery time is reasonable during peak hours.
Bad things: too noisy inside on a Sunday
C. D.
Look. I won't give a terrible review. The coffee was great, and the food was ok. Staff were solid. But the theme...All the meals are constructed around the theme. And they were rather silly. And I got rather sick of the fish puns. No one is that passionate about minnows/fish. Not even fisherman. Seems to me like a sketchily set out marketing idea, relying on a rather boring gimmick.
What I would like to see? Simplified menu. Less of the fish trend in the meals.
You'd probably steal another star out of me if that was the case.
J. M.
Love it! Great menu, solid pricing, and friendly service. My number one for breakfast.
I notice some people complain about the wait time - personally, I haven't had an issue with the wait time - but this place gets busy for good reason.
T. “. V.
Incredible breakfast, probably the best I have had in a long time. Great service and friendly staff. Definitely worth the price. Take your friends, family or a loved one to this brilliant location!
L. A.
Really quick service, delicious food. This is a toastie with haloumi added
D. E.
Delicious and interesting food choices. Beet hollandaise sauce was a delightful bright pink tinted twist to the traditional sauce. Check out the shirts of the employees they had entertaining fish related quotes that had our whole table laughing (best one was "fishing for compliments")
A. S.
Very accommodating when we had 2 extra for breakfast turn up. Food very good.
W. B.
Amazing food and service. The update the menu frequently here so there is always something new and delicious to try. Family and baby friendly. There is a small play area for kids too which is great!
Always come back here. The food is just perfect.
O. C.
Ordered tidal waffles - huge piece of chicken, waffles loaded with veg, tasty sauces + salsa. Additional sides reasonably priced. Nice atmosphere and acoustic dampening on ceiling kept things comfortable even when busy.
J. C.
Order well and you'll be pleased. Pumpkin fritter was a little stodgy but flavour failures are rare at this thriving cafe. The sharkland smoothie was delicious. We had a large group so had a couple of orders go astray and felt this wasn't handled well. Someone's order was missed completely and instead of rushing it through, the order was added to the end of all orders for the venue. One of our party was then just getting their meal as others were looking to leave. No amount of checking on progress made any difference. Considering we spent hundreds on the day and are frequent customers, I thought that was particularly bad and as host was very embarrassed.
m.
Always a great place for breakfast or lunch. Super friendly staff and great atmosphere.
The menu changes every season so it's great to go back every now and then to try something new.
J. C.
A nice place to eat, however during busy times, expect a 30 to 40min wait!! (Grab something from the cabinet to bypass this)
Will say the staff were good and attentive.
Coffee could be better. Bean was burnt. Milks texture was slightly off. Powdery finish.
Food was cooked well and appropriately.
For a 12$ toastie I did expect a little more flavour profile in a toastie.
Food price is on the very expensive side.
Overall could be better for what you pay. As you pay alot, but the atmosphere is nice, if a little noisy with great staff.
Enjoy!
M. P.
Excellent service and food with many options for vegetarian/ paleo/ keto. Coffee is fantastic as well.
J. F.
The food overall was really good. I had the breakfast burger and held the relish. Then added zucchini and corn fritters on the side. The aoili they used on the burger was nice, fresh rocket and then bacon, egg and cheddar on a brioche bun. We had a side of chips which were really nice. Only issue I had is they had no options for beverages that are sugar free. Every soda or cold drink option had sugar. Maybe consider offering coke zero or Pepsi Max or at least a diet cola for folks who can't have sugar. Was happy to see they have Stevia for coffee drinkers.
C. C.
Great food and super friendly staff.
J. S.
Fantastic diverse menu with interesting specials every week. Food is always delicious and the atmosphere is great. A little expensive, but definitely worth the extra few dollars. Can be a little hard to chat when the inside dining area is full due to noise.
S. H.
Delicious breakfast for us and for the small small children with very friendly service. Excellent value too
S. M.
Good atmosphere very relaxed and away from all the shoping streets its in middle of residence good location. First time there was activity book enjoyed playing with kids while waiting for our breakfast. But second time it wasn't there even less things to keep kids engaged while waiting/ eating. But anyways overall it is good place to have nice time with friends and family.
N. H.
I have just dined with girlfriends at Let Minnow Cafe. We had a most enjoyable experience as we were able to use the Shark Tank room where we could chat and laugh indefinitely.
The staff were courteous, friendly and obliging yet not intrusive; the food was fresh, prepared quickly and well, and tasty. It even catered for the coeliac, dairy free eater in our group.
Overall, a big thank you to you all at Let Minnow.
k.
Love the atmosphere of the place. Such nice staff and great service and the quality of the food and drinks is really good.
d. a.
One of the better cafe's in this part of Brisbane. Does great weekend breakfasts, has a little private room out the back and prepares good coffees. It's very quick service and is usually busy
M. M.
Perfect service,food and ambience
J. P.
Amazing food and really nice staff - went here twice in one weekend both for breakfasts and 1. Got the hass to have it with all the side it was amazing. 2. Got the fritter with all the sides again and it was filling and amazing.
Anytime I’m in brizzy I’ll be eating here.
P. C.
Friendly staff, good coffee. Didn't rush us as they were packing up for the day. Would like to visit again.
R. P.
Used to be consistently one of the best Cafe options in North Brisbane, and one that I'd go out of my way for, but unfortunately as it's earned a lot of popularity, the cracks definitely show on busy weekend mornings. The food is good, and at a price that you'd expect, but my last two visits have been marred by uncomfortable wait times for food, and missing ingredients on both my meals. And though the service is friendly and the errors were fixed easily, it's making me think there's a conspiracy to deprive me of bacon.
M. A.
Amazing food. Beautiful location. The staff were so friendly. We came in to eat with our two Labradors and the staff gave them iced water on arrival and treats. Will be coming here again.
L. D.
Great place to meet friends for brunch. Lovely staff and delicious food, you'll be waiting for a table because this place is very popular.
C.
Excellent! Good food, paleo choices too! Relaxed atmosphere. Great experienced staff. Best Coffee. Love this place. Feel very welcome.
J. B. (.
Another great cafe for the area, Let Minnow love to play on words with plenty of menu options that haven't let us down yet. A lot of meals come with a sprinkle of paprika/nuts and seed - I guess it's like their signature thing. Juices are also great! If you're inside it can get really noisy when it's busy.
M. R.
Super friendly staff. Food and coffee is always amazing and of a very high standard! We go every Sunday!
A. L.
Wow - yummy brunch/lunch options and cute aquarium puns everywhere! I have been here twice now and will definitely be back for more. It's easy to find a park in the area as it's tucked away in Clayfield; definitely worth the drive from the other side of the river.
A. C.
Food was nice. They made 3 errors with our order and the place was very noisy. However the staff fixed all the errors with a minimum of fuss but no apology.
W. A.
Very attentive friendly customer service. Popular cafe on weekends. Small kitchen so food takes a bit longer to be prepared though very delicious. Have visited a few times.
A. B. M. A.
This is a beautiful little spot that serves well prepared reasonable priced brunch! The daily specials are what I usually go for! Can't get over that $8 toastie Tuesday.
K. R.
this is such a random fish themed cafe but it's great. it was quite busy when we went for brunch on the weekend. you order at the counter and they bring it out to you. easy street parking out front too.
M. S.
A nice place with friendly staff and good service. Food is good too. Coffee is a bit weak . Weekend can be crazy busy and wait can be way too long. Unless you plan to have a lazy weekend, it's better to visit them after 10.30am and 1pm.
J. B.
delicious food, reasonably priced and good service. Got our food quickly even though they were super busy!
J. M.
Wonderful lunch at Let Minnow Cafe while visiting family in Brisbane. Flu Shooter juice was a masterstroke as I battle the last legs of a seasonal cold and the pulled ham hock that followed was extremely satisfying.
Let Minnow exemplifies the best side of Brisbane's food scene; an honest, family run business that focuses on great food in a comfortable, picturesque, suburban environment.
J. A.
Delicious breakfast and coffee each time I've visited. Lovely friendly staff and a great atmosphere! Dog friendly also which is always a plus :)
S. M.
Great place for breaky/brunch. Must try the Southern fried crispy chicken with scrambled egg. This place has a lot of healthy, gluten free and vegan options. Friendly Staff
T. H.
Nice relaxed cafe. Burger was fantastic so were the fish tacos. Also gluten free options.
L. B.
Beautiful food, reasonable prices, fabulous staff! Wow, and now a bar! They have a really interesting and delicious menu and that Spanish wine was so smoooooth.
M. R.
A fabulously fitted out cafe off the busy drag on the way to the popular Kalinga park. A bright, airy and colourful destination.
The food and service was wonderful and child friendly too.
Z. J.
Busy cafe, great food! Make sure you reserve a table for you to skip the cue. Price is reasonable too. Highly recommended
c. s.
Love aquarium theme to it. Food and coffee were great as well as the service. It can get extremely busy on weekends so be prepared to wait.
G. J.
The service here was great!
C. D.
Good coffee. Average cafe food. Food took far too long.
K. J.
Great food, atmosphere and service! Very much looking forward to coming back.
E. C.
Love how it’s Fish themed after its history as an aquarium! So many fishy puns everywhere. Tried the Marlin sprtz (nemos orange dad aka an aperol spritz) was one of the best I have had!!
C. D.
Was okay it is in an out of the way place with cute street names instead of Table numbers. Will give it another try. Coffee was good. Seemed reasonably priced.
M. P.
Great local cafe. Staff and food fantastic. Warm and cosy atmosphere.
"All you need is Love - and more coffee"😅
J. K.
Great variety on menu. Something different for breakfast but also the good morning food needs. Recommend!
S. H.
Always delicious food. The staff are friendly and willing to assist with dietary requirements too. Plus the deco is super cute!
C. D.
Good location, food was ok but we were lunch time Sunday and 3 of the 6 things we ordered they had run out of. Coffee was ok and the service was pretty good.
J. B.
Delicious food, friendly staff, quick service. A burger special board keeps things interesting. Will definitely make the trip again.
D. R.
Staff are lovely and very friendly. Coffee is excellent. The Chomp Shake is fantastic and a meal in itself.
T. D.
Great local cafe with generous food servings. The coffee is nice and service is usually quite prompt.
H. V.
Very interesting restaurant, formerly an aquarium! Staff are friendly. Changes their menu every season so something new to come back for
K. R. K.
Loved their waffles! One of the few places with excellent menu, friendly staff, and excellent ambiance. So artistic.
N. R.
Great atmosphere, friendly service and easy street parking.
The weekly specials are always delicious - jumbo jaffles are well priced and filling.
A. R.
Good Day,
I am just a humble bottom feeder from Melbourne who took the opportunaty of dining for both a breakfast and lunch meal at once (I understand the difficulty but love a restaurant that doesn’t need to mullet over too much).
SERVICE - On a scale of Kryll to Whale, I give it a Moby. Nothing too hard or Orcaward.
COFFEE – Hot as a Nude bathers butt. Taste – I trout you’ll find better.
DRINKS – Never had a Ginger and Pear drink before. Wow. Batter than I thought.
EGGS – Like fishing for a compliment those elliptical mussels can be so difficult to make well and look fresh. Tick both those Boxjellyfishes. They married well with the Pisces of Avocado mash and Hommus Split Toasts.
THE BAHN MI BAGUETTE – A classy version of the Vietnamese Salad Roll. The lasting taste is the good quality flavour of pate’ caressing the middle of your palate while the lively coriander essence dances a jig at the back of your tongue. You can add hot sauce but, no squidding, it is hot. Popeye intensity if you’re not used to chilli.
AMBIENCE – Dolphinitely casual, open aired, acoustically sound. Interior design such that you just want to float on in and out with the tide.
PARKING – I am used to rubbing fins with the large shoals of Melbournites so this was definitely a scaled down version I could get used to. There will always be a park available here.
WAITING – Anyfin is possible. Don’t be Koi in the peak hours. Turn up with the kids and ask them to call you when a table is ready whilst you frolic at the park up the road.
CONCLUSION – You don’t need to be a Brain Sturgeon to sea this is a most pleasant experience.
In Cod We Trust…

Slow for takeaway coffee- but good,
And getting faster
Staff are learning the role and ropes...
Nice ambience
Fresh well made but needs a few more signature and draw card dishes
A nice spot nice fit out
A welcome local asset
M. V. B.
Fantastic local breakfast destination. Lot of the usual brekky culprits on the he menu, good coffee and friendly staff.
J. R.
A lot of attention to details. The menu os a little intimidating for breakfast. But lots of detail about the dish. The plates, cutlery, and decor all add up for a pleasant breakfast.
A. J.
An ever changing menu with massive servings. The food is to die for, and the coffee is just perfect!
m.
Seasonal menu that is always delicious and full of puns. Hoping they bring back 'Bao down beaches' as it was my favourite dish!
M. S.
Great service, great food and well presented cafe. Definately coming back for breakfast . Highely recommended
B. B.
Food tastes great, and is always served quickly with a smile! Would definitely reccomend

Really good food and coffee. Cute cafe. We went on the Ekka public holiday so there was a long wait for food and seating as it was super busy, but apart from that it was fantastic!

Sunday breakfast. Outside is relaxing. Inside is decorated nicely

Food was great but having to wait in line for 15 minutes to order food then wait 40 minutes for food just ruined the experience. Not having table service is a disgrace.
