Great, fast and freshly served desserts with Excellent atmosphere. Nice personal Family sitting area inside and outside the shop. Good experience with Very welcoming and friendly staff. I come to this restaurant every time I visit south bank Brisbane or to do shopping on Parklands market. I ordered hot chocolates and few other sweets however could only grab pictures of few before they were finished. I must appreciate that the management has done an excellent job for creating a welcoming atmosphere and has created great consistent flavours as well. Overall 5 star experience. Hot Dark chocolate is very sweet, I believe the staff have try their best but the recipe of dark chocolate need to change! Shouldn’t add the syrup in the dark chocolate that destroys the flavors. The location is really good, and the shop decorations style is very lovely. But we all know if you open a chocolate shop the main product is chocolate!!! Really wanna give the hot dark chocolate one start…..

Understaffed. I went on valentines day and they only had 3 people. That's not even close to enough for such a busy night. I saw a huge line of clients waiting, standing, on what should be a relaxing and romantic night. Tables were dirty, because the only runner had to deliver all the orders to all tables. Two staff preparing orders and attending to the register, not enough. At some point they had to stop taking orders and had to focus on preparing them. Although they were so busy, our order arrived perfectly presented, tasty, as well as our coffe (right temperature, well presented). I just wish such a great max Brenner franchise had more staff to make our experience as clients as good as their food. Your staff can be amazing, wonderful, but they're not The Flash, they need help, more people. Also, the huge max Brenner sign inside the store needs maintenance. Some letters are missing from the brand's name.

Getting together with a friend who also loves chocolate there this afternoon. It was queit then I coud take photos freely without bothering others. Out first try was cookie and cream pizza. If you don't like so sweet, dark chocolate would be a good choice. I was happy the marshmello wasn't so sweet, and the flavour of cream and pizza crust were flat so they wouldn't overwhelm chocolate's tastes. And cookie hidden in chocolaye was crushed.Nice chocolate pizza, everything fitted each other well. I also ordered a mocha frappe recommonded by the staff and it was the best mocha frappe I ever had. The mug was funny, and the frappe was my favorite silky style. We had an enjoyable chocolate experience today! Thank you so much.

Great, sweet, high end, desserts. 🍫🍨🍧🍦 I've been here a couple of times. Came today with my daughter, bought two icecreams, double scoop for $8.70 each. Chocolate, cookies and cream, and salted caramel. Pretty awesome. Ultra Huge scoops. 😳😜 Great salted caramel flavour, very creamy. Not too salty. My daughter was impressed. Cookies and cream was lovely! 🍪 And the chocolate!

Over rated, thick white hot chocolate tastes like ganache, super sweet and no balance... dark chocolate tastes like cheap compound chocolate... my drink was super hot, my sons was roughly 40 degrees, which if he was 5 I could understand, but he's almost 6ft tall and 16....haha I added some dark choc to my white and it was better but still meh... Tables left dirty for long periods of time, orders to take out are right where people stand to be served so the bench the items go on is constantly touched by customers and staff, risking cross contamination and spreading infectious viruses...

Had a chocolate coma after coming here to fulfill my craving for a sugar rush close to mid night! ❤️Nice ambience and a good variety given that it’s all chocolate based. Mid night peanut nutter was so good, but too much to finish even for two people. Tried the Italian thick and a cappuccino. Interesting mugs, but the Italian thick was so sweet for my taste! Wouldn’t make this one of my usual hangout places because I don’t want to get diabetes anytime soon 😂, but this is a must try place atleast once! They are open till mid night, that’s definitely the biggest perk!

Have always had a good experience at this Max Brenner. The ingredients are always of good quality, fruits are fresh, and chocolate is always tasty. My only gripe is the lack of fruit they serve with the fondu, it's never enough, and the 'add on' extra fruit is always quite small as well. Regardless, this is a good date spot and place to catch up with friends, and is my go-to dessert locale in South Bank.

Had a lovely tutti-frutti waffle here! Was a very quiet night and it came out very quickly. The chocolate and ice-cream were to die for! The fruit was fresh and tasted immaculate. My only issue is that when we were waiting to order when we got there the women behind the counter said for us to sign in which held up the line as it was a barcode scanner, wish they said something sooner!

Went there around 3pm on Saturday, it was busy but we were served very quickly and our orders came out super fast! I had the brownie and my wife had the suffle and we both had mochas. I hadn't been to a Max Brenner in about 4 years. It was nice, but not to die for like I thought it was. It's definitely good for a dessert date because there is something romantic about all that chocolate. The tables outside weren't super clean, but that's to be expected from how busy they were.

Friendly staff, it was late and busy when we got in. The staff were prioritising uber eat orders and it took a little for them to get to us despite having 4 staff members out front. We ordered the 'mess' it was.. tasty but i wouldnt say it was amazing the 'spongecake' was not particularly spongy it was too dense and ..grainy. there was far too much icecream and whipped cream. It could have benefited from a little less of those and a bit of fruit or shards of chocolate just to add some texture. It didnt feel like a meal worth 20$

We were in a queue to order for well over 20 minutes then had to wait for the orders. It was very slow and the whole place seemed rather run down. The pancakes were not even close to the picture. There are no toilets so you have to walk back up to the lagoon!

I came on a weekend and you can tell this place is very popular. There was a queue and all tables inside were taken. I had the waffles with the fruits and a scoop of icecream. It was nice but it can be too sweet if eaten alone. Better to bring someone or even a group to share just a plate.

I think the cutleries and cups needs more attention as they were dirty and the serviettes had stains on it before I used, tables are sticky. Love the banana bread with chocolate ganache on the side. The chocolate tastes like a real melted chocolate. so creamy and chocolatey. The banana bread is not sweet on it own which is good as the ganache is already sweet. the bread was quite moist and soft in every bite😊

I enjoyed it hear I’d been wanting to come for a while but friends sold me it’s too expensive well It can be if you order up big, we had a cappuccino each and shared a banana bread it was actually a bit cheaper than many cafes and there was enough chocolate to satisfy without going into a chocoholic. The service wasn’t great the one staff we saw was more occupied with tasks than service and coffees was just ok. It’s sad to see many of these closing down I think franchise management could do a lot to save these as drinking coffee is becoming more the thing to do you just need to pick up your act a bit

Ambience was slightly unpleasant; most of the tables in the restaurant had dirty plates and cutlery on them with none of the staff clearing tables. The chocolate fondue was 3/5; slightly overpriced for the amount of snacks to dip in the chocolate, banana bread was not fresh. Things seemed to be done half-heartedly by the staff, from the ordering process to when food was served and (failing to) keep the restaurant clean.

The ambience is potentially lovely with warm wooden finishes but insufficient staffing leave the place feeling a bit dirty and run down by late afternoon. The queues to order are very and while some dishes arrived very quickly (within 5 minutes) others took quite some time and some were completely forgotten. Delivering a fork and knife with a brownie and ice cream did seem an unhelpful choice.

Husband and I got the 80’s milkshake and a Choc Fudge Brownie milkshake. 80’s milkshake was hard to eat on the go, but thats on us! The choc fudge brownie milkshake was SOOOOOOO GOOD!! Disappointed experience. I was so excited to try something different but felt very disappointed. First we wait almost 15 minutes to order, because it seems there was not enough staff in the store. We waited a long time to have our drinks, first my husband’s, then mine and after 10 more minutes we got our waffles. I tried to call the waiter 3 times and he didn’t look at me, very distracted and didn’t check the customers. My husband hated his New York Iced Coffee, with a lot of ice and the coffee is extremely bitter. My hot chocolate was so sweet that I couldn’t finish (should be a thick Italian hot choc, but I did’t had that, just milk with choc and 10 sugas inside). The waffle saved our experience (despite all the rest), I love it.

We visited the Max a tenner at South Bank, Brisbane 3 years ago and had a a fantastic experience. The cafe was original (it was unique looking inside, abit like a chocolate factory & we even took photos. The food and staff were great........ Roll on to today (Jan 2021) and we are very disappointed! The cafe has lost its unique look, it was being run by students that weren’t particularly bothered, and we had to wait ages for our drinks, receiving them after finishing our food. When ordering our food the girl serving us didn’t explain very well, and it was a lady in the queue who helped us, but I ended up with something different to what I wanted due to the misunderstanding. The flat white had barely any coffee in, it was all froth. We are extremely disappointed that it has gone downhill since last time we visited, it is now an average coffee shop and we won’t make an effort to go back again. Really gutted 😞

Really amazing tasty treats. Although considering how quiet it was, it took a very long time (25min) to get drinks, then our food (waffles) come out way after we had finished our drinks. The waffles were terrible, stale and just crumpled. I didn't eat them. Lucky the condiments were edible. Was rather disappointed as I had convinced my family to go and certainly waiting 25min for 2 hot chocolates and a baby chino was surprising. Will go back again, but just for the chocolate, just not worth sitting down at.

The foods and drinks were good. The last time we cam here I tried the cold chocolate milkshake and my 4 other friends got hot chocolate in that beautiful mug. We had chocolate pizza and tried strawberry banana with 2 chocolate dips. The only thing we don’t like is the place. It looks like they didn’t care anymore with the place because they already had lot of customers. The sofa were broken. The place was not as clean as years before. It was a very nice place years ago so we feel comfort to chill out and dine in but now it feels different.

Excellent food. Chocolate brownie sundae was a great mix of ice cream and brownie, and on the side was liquid chocolate that would solidify when drizzled on the ice cream, and it also came with mini malteaser balls that gave the sundae a nice crunchy flavour. Service was a bit on the low/slow side, but otherwise a great dessert experience.

Good for a cheeky late night treat. It should be noted the staff are obscenely slow but the hot chocolate is worth the wait. Just make sure it's hot before you leave otherwise you'll be disappointed. Unfortunately the food has never been a hit for us at this particular Maxx Brenner but we will continue to go back for the Italian Thick Dark Hot Chocolates. I suggest avoiding it during peak trading hours, as the wait will put a dampener on your evening. Shop front located in a very convenient location with loads of other dinning options to attend first, then drop in for an after dinner treat on your way home.

If you want to get chocolate wasted then come to Max Brenner! I've heard so many good things about Max Brenner and I finally had the opportunity to come here last night. My friend and I came here at around 8pm. There was such a long line! We waited for a good amount of time (maybe 20-40 minutes). They have a little gift shop there, so it was cool looking at the products while waiting in line. We got the Chocolate Fondue for Two and I also got a hot milk chocolate. The chocolate fondue was so visually appealing! It came with dark chocolate, milk chocolate, strawberries, bananas, banana bread, and marshmallows. I was really excited to try it out! The chocolate was so thick, so creamy, so rich. It was very sweet. After a couple of pieces, I was so done with chocolate. It was just way too much chocolate for me. I wasn't expecting the chocolate to be so thick and rich. My mouth was numb from the sweetness. The hot milk chocolate just tasted like warm milk; there wasn't much chocolate taste to it. Which was kind of disappointing. Even though I was sick of chocolate, I still wanted to taste the chocolate flavor of the hot chocolate. I wouldn't mind coming back here again to try something else. The ice cream and the milkshakes looked really good!

One of the best places to curb your sweet cravings. It has got multiple options starting milkshakes, choctails, choc-pizza, ice-creams, pastry, choc-burgers, etc. The presentation on the platter is absolutely wonderful. Additionally, the outlet at South Bank has outdoor seating as well, apart from the eye-catchy indoor ambience. But in regards to my today's visit, I seriously felt that the South Bank outlet is running understaff. Had to wait long, not only to order but also to have my order served. I am pretty sure that management at Max Brenner will definitely address this issue and would never let their customers down.

Their chocolate is to expensive for most people. Cake n a small spoon of ice cream sets me back around 14.00. Milkshakes are 8 to 9.00. This is a place for people with money or for a special dessert chocolate treat.

We stopped in here for a drink and a chat in the air conditioning on a very hot day. The drinks did not disappoint (neither did the aircon). The vinyl seating however was split on most of the bench seats giving it a tatty, uncared for look. It really needs a reno to make it look and feel like it's presented on the outside.

Max Brenner Chocolate Bar (MBCB) is synonymous with ideal chocolate paradise. The staff is committed to serve to the last closing minute. A friend, who is in her final weeks of pregnancy, was craving for Choco-nut fudge brownee last night. This was made possible by Shané- the manager of MBCB. She was kind enough to accomodate our request when the store was about to close. I have visited this place many times, but on this occasion I was impressed with this combination of empathy with customer service. Do visit this South Bank landmark!

Max Brenner has always been a favorite of mine, with delicious melted chocolate desserts and drinks, both cold and hot to satisfy you through the cold days in winter and the hot days in summer. While the food and drinks here are always delicious, the place needs to be built up to another storey to cater for large groups, as standing and waiting for longer than 20 minutes can be deterring.
