One of the best breakfast experiences in Canberra! I've eaten here twice now and this morning only cemented all I thought about it. The Breakfast Your Way option is a great way to choose exactly what you want, and to leave what you don't. The food is always high quality, with good flavourful ingredients. The staff are friendly, attentive and knowledgeable about their menu. I would recommend this cafe to anyone in Canberra looking for a good brunch meal.

These are really the nice guys of cafes in Canberra! I have been following them for ages on Instagram and finally had the chance to come in and eat. I was really impressed by the attentive wait staff here- as soon as we walked in we were received in a professional manner and looked after. After we'd ordered a staff member came to check on us and make sure we didn't have any problems with the qr code system- a simple gesture sorely lacking in another establishment we visited last week. We ordered the linguine, chicken burger and chimmichunga, all of which were excellent! There was a high standard across all the dishes that showed attention to detail and care about the end result. Of course the coffees were fantastic too. A great experience overall, we will certainly return soon.

Service was so efficient and friendly. The Scotch fillet sandwich is generous and so full of flavour. I would recommend a side of fries. I’ve been here for lunch and after work cocktails and decided to try if for breakfast. The service was quick and attentive and the food was delicious. They were happy to modify meals for my three year old daughter and had plenty of options for my lactose-free father. My mum and husband both believe the hot cake my daughter ordered was the best pancake they’d ever had. I highly recommend the rosti. We’re definitely planning a return trip.

Visiting Canberra for one night I googled to find a high rated cafe for breakfast and found 54 Benjamin Way. And it certainly deserves its rating. Excellent service for all the staff, they are probably the nice wait staff I have seen in a long time. The food was perfect and was exactly what I was looking for. Only thing if you are coming here call ahead for a reservation. I was lucky as a solo traveller so they found me some space but if you are a group there would be a wait.

Tom the owner is welcoming. We frequent here with the family. Nice to have somewhere in Belconnen that does fantastic cocktails. We've done Thursday a few times as a family. Our child loves the chicken and chips. Tom was accommodating and organised some veggies for our child. The Friday scene can be busy with after work drinks. We haven't done coffee or breakfast food yet.

As a veteran Belconnen office worker, 54 Benjamin has proven itself time again to be the best cafe in the area. The staff are friendly and responsive without intruding on privacy which provides for a relaxing experience. The music selection and volume lends to a wonderful ambience without causing detriment to conversation, which as someone with poor hearing has been quite the relief. The ever evolving and well designed seasonal menus have kept the experience refreshing and exciting, with the staple menu providing the perfect meal for days warranting the familiar. The inclusion of freshly made, in-house pasta to the menu has been an absolute gift to all pasta lovers. The linguine strands themselves are masterfully made with appropriate thickness and texture for the pasta variety and the created dish. Whilst I do not have insight into the techniques of the chefs, I believe they understand the critical and often overlooked importance of correctly seasoned water (salted to near ocean equivalent) and reintroduction of starches for sauceless pasta dishes. Additionally, the chef behind the introduction of the linguini dish appears to have acute tastebuds for balance. No one ingredient overpowered another and the use of preserved lemon to control acidity while accounting for fresh tomatoes is a sign of masterful proficiency in the kitchen and gives weight to cooking as an art. If anything, I could have added an extra pinch of salt and pepper to account for my specific personal preferences. With all due respect, #sorrynotsorry Lisa Liu-Thorrold, don't ruin it for the rest of us.

Much better than other similar cafes because of bar, indoor and outdoor seating as well as quality of customer service, custom medium roast coffee blend to rival any other in Canberra...and delicious menu options. Catering and after hours party bookings available on request. Fast service and reasonably priced also.

Fast, polite service. Good coffee. Eggs Benedict was great. Served with tender pork on rye. The hollandaise was infused with maple and I loved that little twist. Personally, the sweetness did seem to mute the acidity a little too much, which would of otherwise helped to cut through the rich dish.

I've been to 54 Benjamin for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and every time I've left satisfied. Favourites for me include the breaky burger (double egg, double bacon and a rosti on the side of course), the steak sandwich and I'm a huge fan of the Charlie Chaplin cocktail. I love the relaxed vibe and am able to take my wife and children and know that they too have menu favourites (those hotcakes!)

Had breakfast here. Great place to eat and have coffee. Some quality control is needed. My table wasn't wiped down (grinded salt all over it) and I was given a dirty glass (not soap residue). Other than that, I'm glad I came and I will return. I had poached eggs on sourdough. The eggs were perfect. For you soy coffee drinkers like me, this establishment uses Bonsoy. Coffee was perfect.

Have always love 54B from when it was a little bar in the wall. The vibe is different as the larger cafe space but it is top of my reco list as a brunch or lunch spot. We just need to sus it out for dinner or drinks to get the full experience. Love the booths and cosy feel. You can't beat the food and coffee. I'd recommend booking because it's busy... and for good reason.

Best bar in Canberra by Far. Beautiful Décor, great Music, perfect location. It may not have a large selection of products, but everything is carefully selected and staff are highly trained in their production knowledge regarding taste, aromatics and use in mixology plus how to match to each persons individual tastes. The Manager and female bartender in both of my visits have been perfectly attentive to sequence of service, past orders, name of myself and other guests and consistently engaged in compelling conversation without being distracted or slowed down. My only problem is that there are not more outlets in Canberra, Their license is limited to 10pm and no kitchen. But you cant have everything. Whom ever the owners are I would like to take my hat off to you and plead that you expand and don't change one bit, except for possibly having a venue with a later license and share food like tapas. I swear I don't work for nor am I affiliated in anyway with the staff or venue. Honestly I have not given such a high review to anywhere in ACT. Canberra bars need to adapt and improve and If we see more venues in ACT adapting to this level of service, quality of product, Presentation and strict unwavering brand image then Canberra could be leading the forefront of Australian Bars. This venue even trumps some of my favorite small bars in Sydney (NSW) which is impressive considering they have considerably more resources and larger population to fund bar improvements.

Brilliant cafe! The 54 Benedict with pulled pork was perfect! Great use of various flavours to deliver a new take on the Eggs Benny. I've been to several different cafes in Belconnen including The Shed, Cafe Cherry Beans, The Coffee Club, Archibald's, Cafe 2617, Chatterbox, Espresso Warriors and High 5 cafe and THIS one was the BEST!!

I will keep this short, in my lifetime I have had alot of fine breakfast food, this place made a breakfast fit for a King, you have to try the potato rosti, i.e. hash brown, simply amazing Returned for my second visit: some genius changed out the rosti which was perfectly fine before, to an oily, soggy, potato patti which was frankly terrible and they have reduced the amount of bacon and swapped out fresh slices of avacado for baby mush. I originally gave 5 stars not sure how keen I am to return, what a shame that perfect wasnt good enough for them. Returned for a third visit at the Owners suggestion, OMG wow, will be returning again and again, the food was exceptional.
