I found this cafe for my partner so she could have a lovely breakfast. And she loved the savoury crepes. For me, I prefer simple breakfasts and can't handle rich foods that early in the morning. The crepes were great but, for me, rich flavouring. The quality was excellent and the crepes were made with care. For my partner, these crepes were exactly what she wanted and loved them. The staff were friendly and there appears to be a number of customers they know by name (always a good sign of a quality cafe).

Really enjoyed breakfast. Great food and coffee the French breakfast was delicious, the perfect light start to the day. Service was excellent. Would highly recommend.

First time visiting this cafe with my friends. And it was great. The food is amazing, and the owner is nice, too! I surely will come back to bring my other friends (:

Food is always delicious, the staff are lovely, and the coffee is great. Amazing crepes, though I always find it hard to go past the omelette (pro tip: order a dessert crepe to share if you can’t resist the savoury options). Also lots of interesting French treats and pastries to take home :)

Portions were small for the cost. It could have been better. Taste was good.

We tried their Valentine's Day dinner and was pleased with their thoughtful service and menu. For $40+, we had two charcuteries, two mains and two desserts, plus two non-alcoholic drinks.
I was surprised that the restaurant has changed hands and whilst the crepes taste different, they were still tasty.

The savoury and sweet crepes: ham and cheese and Nutella and banana are excellent and is one way of tasting France 🇫🇷 without having to go there. Definitely worth trying over and over again. Yours truly @fooderarri
S. E. (.
Amazing food. The croissant brioche and crepes are to die for!!! Very friendly and helpful staff. Anisha (hope I spelt it right!) was very patient with all my questions and provided excellent service.

Delicious food and very good coffee. A pretty little cafe that offers good and attentive service. Dog friendly as well. Might make this our local for our stay in Canberra

Fantastic food all year round. Their crêpes are delicious, we go and get them all the time. My favorite is the nutella crêpe. Their baguettes are divine, the fresh bread smell is so good. But they are quite expensive, and their hot chocolates are bland and croque monsieur was just not hitting right - salty and thin. But, if you're considering the Breizh as a crêperie instead of a restaurant or café, then I guess it's meeting its criteria.

We now really enjoy going to Breizh Cafe. The staff are really lovely, dealing with minor glitches (due to a staff illness) with panache and charm. The food is delicious, indoor and outdoor seating comfortable, and the atmosphere pleasant.
N. H.
Yummy! We got the bacon & eggs galette, and the french breakfast 💕

The place to go for savoury and sweet crepes
G. H.
A cafe that practises bistromatics - the bill is never the same even though you order the same thing every time. A gluten free crepe can cost anywhere from $9.50 to $23....depending on who is at the register.
J. L.
Good fast service. Galletes' were flavourful and coffee was also quite good. Great for a weekend brunch.
G. R.
Delicious crepes both savory and sweet. Staff very friendly and helpful. Eat in or out. Is very popular so wise to book.
C. K.
Whenever I'm craving for the crepe, this is the place to go. Easy and quick food. I feel like taste has been changed and less people at the restaurant.
C. G.
DIVINE brunch! Gluten free meals, bacon, gruyere, maple syrup... Yes, yes, YES! Friendly service and quick, delicious food, and lactose free milk available for your coffee. Highly recommend this Ainslie gem! Book Online on their website, it's nice and easy.
R. A.
Good service and crepes, and there are some imported french gourmet products. Portuguese tart is one of their best selling pastry.
O. L.
Still the only place in Canberra that I have never had a bad meal or experience at .... And I eat here quite regularly. Even when super busy as they were today, it all just comes together. We had a longer than usual wait but since we were on the tail end of the lunch rush that's to be expected. The croque Monsieur was perfect, the flavours blended nicely and the flakiness of the pastry was divine. The creme caramel for dessert was one of the best I've ever eaten.
This is truly a local gem and is easily overlooked but definitely worth travelling for.
C. S.
Busy little French cafe in the heart of Ainslie. Service is fast and prompt, the Croque-crossiants was rich, cheesy and yummy. The Gallets also looked great and authentic, not overly impressed with the ham and mushroom selection. Felt like the ham was out of a packet and the mushroom was sliced in a supermarket. Will be back to try another option though.
E. G.
Lovely French cafe for a cider, a galette or a pastry. One of my favourite spots in Canberra!
j. y.
The crepes and croquet croissant are both out of this world. The service excellent. The view looking out from the cafe feels like you are in Southern France. A great place to sit and relax and enjoy the food.
I. M.
Great coffee and delicious crepes. Hard to keep warm inside on an Autumn day. Still worth the effort to book ahead and persevere with the crazy parking situation at Ainslie Shops. This is a some time destination that rewards the effort.
S. M.
Delicious crepes and coffee and great service. Highly recommended
S. A.
Really enjoy coming to this cafe for breakfast. Its unique, the food is outstanding and the variety beats most places in Canberra. The crepes to amazing.

Despite not being owned by French people anymore, the Breizh Café continues to serve authentic Breton Gallettes and Crêpes and other French foods. This visit was our first time for a long while. The food and coffee were very good, with genuine flavours and good serving sizes.
Our main issue was the inconsistent service. We were a party of 5, who'd arrived at different times. Two of us ordered coffee on arrival, and it arrived very quickly. There weren't many people in the café, so the service then was quick. But by the time everyone else arrived (within 20 minutes), and we'd decided what to order, the service had become much slower. More frustrating was the fact that our meals and coffees then all arrived at different times. The time between the first gallette and the last was about 10 minutes.
Fortunately, we weren't in a hurry, and as noted, the food was very good. But it is a frustration to not get all our meals around the same time.
The staff are very friendly though.
If the timings were better, I'd give 5 stars.
L. D.
Cakes were superb. Bread - i bought a loaf of ciabatta style but may have had oats or bran? - was the tastiest loaf I've ever eaten (and bread is my favourite thing to eat, so i think i have a broad baseline from which to compare loaves.)
Q. L.
This place is an absolute gem. They were so accommodating of us. Booking and sign in was a breeze. Service was top notch; friendly, efficient and no fuss! Everyone was happy, even the Melbourne out-of-towners, who know their French cuisine! There's a reason why this cafe is so popular. We're fast becoming regulars!

Hmmm ... I'm conflicted.
I adore this cafe and the food provided. The food is still as wonderful as other times I have been.
However, the atmosphere has changed for the worse and makes me reluctant to return.
I don't know if management or ownership has changed, but (some of) the staff behaviour was lacking.
The staff behind the counter were wonderful, and the barista gently delivered his beautifully created flat white to my table with a smile.
However, the food, cutlery box, and (requested) salt and pepper grinders were dropped on the table by another young waiter with such force that both my companion and I jumped. I did ask the young waiter to please place items down a little more gently, and I enquired whether they were new to working in hospitality - they apologized for their behaviour (and bizzarely later delivered an unwrapped single Easter egg to the table as way of an apology - sincere if a little misguided) and said that they had been working there for a while.
Later, as we dined, the manager stood in the middle of the outdoor dining area and loudly conversed with a friend, and then loudly spoke to someone via speakerphone on their smart watch. I wouldn't appreciate such behaviour from another customer, let alone a staff member.
I decided to provide some formal feedback before I left, and approached the counter, where the manager and barista were standing. I first stated that the food and coffee were delicious, but that I have some feedback.
I recounted that the young waiter, whilst sincere, may be a little naive about customer service matters and require a little training, and recounted our experience. The manager was very receptive to this feedback, and emphatically stated they would address the issue.
However, when I also stated we also did not appreciate his own behaviour, his demeanor completely changed, and he stated alternatively and dismissively that "it's fine", and that he doesn't have good reception on his phone etc etc. I then stated that it really wasn't "fine" and (as above), wouldn't expect such behaviour from another customer, let alone staff member, and perhaps such social interactions and speaker phone calls shouldn't occur whilst at work, or at least not amongst paying customers. I even stated it reduced the atmosphere from that of a beautiful french cafe to one of a rough fish and chip shop.
Again, the attitude was dismissive and borderline aggressive.
As I said ... Conflicted. I love this cafe and the food ... And until now, the staff. If this customer service and atmospheric change is due to management / ownership change, I think some introspection is required. If this is just due to a couple of new staff / manager, then I hope they are appropriately trained to improve their behaviour.

Delicious galettes and sweet crepes. Good coffee. Friendly service. What more could you ask for?
G. J.
What a local gem! The food is divine (there are many options, gluten free, lactose free, vegetarian), the staff are lovely, and the cafe itself has such a welcoming atmosphere. It's no wonder it was packed full! The display cabinet had lots of wonderful looking treats, the freshly made bread looked amazing, and the coffee isn't bad! Plenty of parking at the Ainslie shops, wheelchair accessible, perfect for a sunny brunch.
N. Y.
Very authentic French food. Very tasty so definitely go early or a little later then you plan to go because it gets very crowded. Or to be safe, book a table. The food is very nice and the pastries and bread are awesome🍞. You can take them home too but get the bread early because they will sell out fast! Definitely visit them👌 Tip: check when they are open because I have forgotten sometimes when it was open so I have gone and it was closed.
E. L.
This is THE best Cafe in Canberra ! The breakfast menu is exceptional and I have tried pretty well everything on the menu and there is not a bad option. The crepes and omelettes 2nd to none. So delicious
J. D.
If you ever wonder where to go for a nice brunch or lunch in Canberra with a touch of French's ambience, Breizh Cafe in Ainslie is the place. The food was so delicious. The Blue Cheese Galettes was so light and tasty, soft and crunchy. The best crepes I have had.
N. T.
Came here on a Sunday afternoon and the place was busy and bustling. We were greeted by the friendly and charming French head waiter. The crepes we had were crispy savory and totally flavorsome, especially the white pork sausage. There were plenty of delicate sweet pastries as well. Great service and great food at reasonable prices.
A. T.
Great crèpes and great service.

Usually, a cake takes about 48 hours to order so that they can take the time to alert their chef and actually prepare it. My family, just passing through Canberra, needed a cake for my eldest son's birthday. We didn't know this rule as we're from the reaches of QLD, and ordered one anyway. With less than 12 hours, we were pleasantly surprised with the quality and quantity of the cake. Thank you Bruno, your efforts in the little time you had made our celebration that much more special.
J. S.
Authentic French cuisine in a cosy locale. Bruno and Bronwyn excel at creating an inviting cafe that exudes warmth and serves up lovely treats straight from Brittany. I've ordered numerous crepe cakes for birthdays and never been disappointed.
D. J. B.
Fabulous food and staff; shame about the owner. One of my favourite places for breakfast - the patisserie, crepes and gallettes here are all delicious. The staff are always friendly and welcoming; unfortunately the owner has very poor customer service and management skills, which takes the edge off an otherwise excellent place - I saw him reduce one of his poor staff to tears today. Not cool.
A. A.
I visited this lovely cafe again today for more take away gallete and crepe. Sooooo tasty! The owner is very helpful and the counter staff are awesome! 🙂
I just bought 3 take away crepes - delicious, not expensive and the staff were super friendly in what must be difficult circumstances. Great work ladies and gentlemen - thanks for remaining open and offering a tasty take away service 🙂
G. B.
Very good food and service 👌👍😋

Quite frankly this cafe is one of the finest in Canberra, the food is delicious and unashamedly French. Tucked away in the corner of the Ainslie shops the food is based around traditional Galettes and Crepes from Brittany that alone would be worth your undying devotion but the cafe also serves up other amazing French dishes all complimented by a great range of French wines. The shop itself is cosy, friendly and an absolute delight. When we visited the cafe was heaving but the owner managed to find us a table, I had a galette with white pudding and my friend had one with chicken and spinach. Both were delicious with a crispy, texture that was just perfect, I never have dessert but the apple tatin ws too tempting and went beautifully with a well extracted double espresso. Ainslie is very lucky to have a cafe of this quality.
C. G.
lovely café, with a very welcoming feeling. On cold days there are heaters outside, and blankets on the chairs. Staff are very welcoming, and love to have a chat. You can tell its an amazing café the moment you walk in. Food comes quick and there is an amazing verity of food.
B. R.
Lovely vibe, great service, and most importantly, delicious food (I had the caramelised apple crepes, drool 😍)
C. F.
This is the favourite Cafe of my friends and I, not just in Canberra either, because the food is always exceptional with fresh ingredients professionally cooked. The menu is perfect and the owners, Bronwyn and Bruno, are experts in their field
W. M.
Breizh Cafe is a wonderful, not so hidden cafe that does brekkie and lunch. The Brittany style food is heartwarming and quick to order. Recommended that you book a table as it is bustling with people. Only downfall is the very small tables and they serve large plates so hard to fit more then four dishes at a time
A. T.
After an exhaustive search I rate this place the best croissant in Canberra. Made fresh with proper French salted butter these are the real deal. Coffee is also up there - even by Canberra hight standards
L. H.
A touch of Brittany right there in Ainslie. Perfect crepes and galettes, pastries and other goodies, a nice selection of French wines, and friendly service. Always busy, but rarely a long wait for a table. Highly recommended.
J. S.
Very busy little cafe, the breakfast we had was well cooked and delivered fast. Nearly all the tables inside were reserved, but if it was still a while for booking the staff will let you use the table. Very pleasant staff which makes the difference when it is very busy.
D. M.
Amazing crepe that transported me back to France! Coffee was also a standout. Well done Breizh! Covid safe and limited spots so maybe try booking a spot.
L.
Amazing service and delicious crepes, both savory and sweet. My favourite place for crepes in Canberra!
J. P.
Lovely staff and delicious food! Dine in menu is great, take away some pastries when you've finished your meal :)
M. C.
what a lovely meal we had here..had no idea what we were in for - just needed lunch but it was delicious and the hosts went out of there way to find us a table..quite crowded - we did not have a reservation but clearly if you want to be sure you should book... parking nearby - easy disabled access. Cant wait to go back.
B. G.
Good crêpes, I would love the stuffed and not covered with ingredients, and it is a bit pricy since you need at least 2 crêpes to have enough for a meal. But the place is worth it, the food tastes real butter and is authentic, the owner is also very friendly.
J. G.
A delightful Cafe bringing the taste and soul of Brittany to the heart of Canberra. It has a tasty selection of buckwheat galettes, crepes and - naturellement - pastries. Our favorite stop on the weekend
C. N.
Great cakes. Didn’t know of this place till someone at work recommended it. But it delivers on high quality goods at reasonable price.

A fine cafe situated in the heart of Ainslie. Authentic french gallettes and other typical bistro delights make this a must visit, whenever you're in the area. Also save somer oom in your tummy for the great take away gourmet treats on offer, from salted caramels to fine chocolate and terrines, etc. Well worth a visit.
c. B.
Just dropped in to pick up the freshly baked brioche
R. D.
Bruno is an amazing host, fantastic crepes, bread, desserts and pastries. Wonderful cider and drinks selection. The best French creperie in Canberra.

If you want a French Brittany galette buckwheat pancake savoury or sweet wheat flour pancake, Breizh cafe have an original flair. Breizh is open from Wednesday to Sunday.
P. M.
Exceptional food. Often very busy and recommend booking. If you don't know what to order just choose something at random - even if you don't like it will have been worth trying!
D. B.
Check out this hidden gem at Ainslie. You won't believe what Bruno, Bronwyn and crew can do with the humble crepe and its buckwheat cousin, the galette. Sweet or savoury, all made using top quality fresh ingredients, beautifully assembled and served, perfect anytime for a snack or a meal or with coffee. I leave with a smile - delighted! (If Bruno has a spare moment, ask him about Britanny - "Breizh").
J. K.
Very accommodating for our large group, friendly service, quick delivery of our delicious meals, highly recommend
T. B.
