Comments of Maple + Clove
J. A.
Great little cafe with excellent service and chilled vibe. The sweet potato hash browns are foodie heaven and the coffee excellent. Have also had the blueberry muffin… so fresh and safety I could share even though I promised I would!
E.
Not a great deal of options but we were very satisfied with the choices we made. The oats were one of the best I'd tried. We walked here but there is parking nearby. The views are nice. Coffee was perfect. Small double shot soy latte was amazing and made the way I like it. Well be back for sure.
N. T.
Lovely ambience, even though they were busy the service was friendly and attentive. The menu had some creative dishes and the 3 meals at our table were all excellent.
A. L.
Best oat milk flat white in Canberra, both take away and dining in.
Today I ordered the breakfast bruschetta (pictured) and it was delicious!
J. D.
A modern, hip lunch spot with beautiful indoor decor and an outdoor seating area. All day breakfast menu and a diverse lunch menu starting from 11:30. The barramundi was tasty, I would get it again.
J. L.
Good selection of vegetarian options however during busy periods prepare to wait. As there are not a huge amount of options in the area, if you're looking for simple cafe fair, then Maple and Clove will suit you
C. M.
Tried both the savoury and sweet waffle options. The savoury waffle had a nice flavour, like a crispy corn fritter. It went really well with poached eggs and smoked salmon. The sweet waffle was also nice and crisp, with delicious fixings. Portions are a bit on the small side (especially for the price) so big appetites (like me) may be left wanting more. The cafe itself has a hip, modern vibe and great decor.

Perfect spot for a brunch at the center of Barton. Located along Burberry Close, Maple + Clove offers healthy options for sumptuous breakfast and lunch meals. We liked how the Pesto Eggs and Goats Cheese was made (as we are big Eggs Benedict chasers) and also the Blue Swimmer Crab Omelette with rice on top which has this Japanese dish vibe on it. Coffee is good too! They offer alfresco dining so you can enjoy your meal outside a good weather.
M. J.
While staying at the hotel across the road we popped in for breakfast here. We ended coming back for the remaining 5 days stay. Excellent service, excellent food. Definitely check it out.
C. N.
My wife and I love this place!
The sweet potato hash brown is both delicious and filling. Same goes for the chicken tacos!
The freshly squeezed juice was very refreshing.
Just wanted to say thanks to the staff as we arrived at 2:25pm, 5 minutes before the kitchen closed and they were more than accommodating to let us sit and eat without rushing us.
We left completely satisfied with the food and the service. 5 stars!

POST COVID DINNING
Firstly the team here is amazing. They were busy but they actually accommodated every need we had. They were very efficient and prompt.
The presentation was remarkable for both dishes. We ordered extras and the price didn’t spike up. The total spend came near $60 which we found fairly reasonable.
The set up is lovely. With the option to eat outside or inside. Both options being very accomodating and the lighting is beautiful for photography.
A. L.
Oh my goodness, the waffles!!! They were amazing. Lovely modern venue, was very busy on a Sunday morning for brunch, but the waffles were worth it 👌🏼
D. L.
Maple Clove is staple coffee, brunch, lunch place in Barton. If you work in the area you’d definitely have been there. Came here for lunch and had the blue swimmer crab dish, which was nice but lacked any crab taste or texture. Otherwise I love the vibe and lively atmosphere of the restaurant.
B. T.
One of the nicest cappuccinos I’ve had in Canberra, I had the normal coffee and the decaf and they were both great. Polite staff as well. Despite its weekday abundance of corporate types it’s also quite family and pram friendly too.
W. P.
My favourite breakfast - brunch place in Canberra! Everything looks and tastes delicious. From the coffee, tea and healthy juices to the surprisingly beautiful and creative plates. Also, all the ingredients are high quality which probably helps the mouth watering food they present you with. Plus, the staff it's FANTASTIC. They are all very accommodating and always looking to make you feel welcomed even when you don't have a booking. I do suggest you book though as it can be full the whole time. The decoration is another big plus, not many places in CBR spend time in having a nice decoration with great lighting as this one. Lastly, the prices are normal. Why go anywhere else to pay the same for a c$%^ breakfast when you can come here and really have a foodie experience
I. L.
Cafe located within the Doma hotel group: very busy. Reservation or walk in. Outdoor and indoor seating available. Good selection of breakfast and lunch menu. Very reasonable price, good portion size with good flavours. Although service can be a bit slow when it gets busy.
A. J.
A short stroll from our hotel this cafe was quite busy with a constant flow of office workers getting their coffee fix. We had a nice brunch at a decent price. The floor staff could have been a little bit more on the friendly side, but no biggie.
C. L.
Location, location, location. Tucked away behind the Realm, while the spring winds were gusting around us, we could sit outside in the sun protected by the surrounding buildings. Excellent menu & coffee including for me as a vegetarian. Inside could do with more imagination but the outside terrace is first rate (photos).
C. A.
Our new favourite breakfast Cafe! Maple + Clove ticks all the boxes, atmosphere, service, and especially the food! Prices are reasonable, dishes are creative, delicious and superbly presented. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Dishes we had and pictured were the savoy waffles and the sweet potato hashbrown, tasty and reasonably healthy.
J. S.
Brilliant marriage of flavours, the chef at Maple + Clove is performing at the next level. The well designed menu will appeal to all diners and demonstrate great skill in pairing flavours and presentation. I can not recommend Maple + Clive enough to gourmands on the look out for interesting and innovative food!
The interior design is cool, calm and collected, making for a higher brow environment. The layout of the till, however, is confusing. It’s tucked away down one side and makes for plenty of people waiting by the door in order to pay. Unfortunately this isn’t helped by a pretty mediocre staff. Over three visits I observed the same dark haired waitress plunk coffees down, curtly redirect customers and generally be inconvenienced by the hospitality industry. If you’re worried about the service here, my advice is to push through, the food is fantastic and worth the distractable and ‘busy’ waitresses.
The coffees, on the bright side, live up to the high standard set by the kitchen. The baristas work under the pump to quickly serve high quality crema and well stretched milk. Strongly recommend Maple + Clove for takeaway coffee if you’re in a rush.
Overall, you want to go here. You’ll be impressed with the chef’s skill and style, just be careful when choosing to engage with the waitresses. Oh, and order the waffles - either chocolate or buttermilk, you’re basically treating yourself to pudding for breakfast!
J. M. Y. L.
Packed with people on Sat morning easter weekend, took an hr to have our food delivered but great service, good food and nice coffee.
J. K.
Compared to similar style cafes I’d rate ‘Maple and Clove’ closer to 5 than 4. Tucked away off the main drives in Barton it offers a cosy refuge for local workers with both indoor and outdoor settings. There are some great healthy choices on the menu and the fruit and vegetable juices are excellent. Thoroughly enjoyed my zucchini waffles (so light and melt in the mouth) with avocado, salmon and eggs. Best breakfast I’ve had in awhile. The staff seem polite and the decor very modern and pleasant.
E. D.
Pretty good food. Service was great and hot choc was awesome. Place gets packed out in the mornings so don’t leave it too late.
T. J. F.
Nice, modern cafe with smooth finishings.
Coffee, fruit juices and & pastroes from here were divine.
M&C was at full capacity & thriving by 8:30am.
Would come by here again
K. K.
Came here for breakfast. I ordered soy green tea latte and savoury spelt waffles. If you like sweet corn and waffle, get it. Great meal.
S. S.
Love the full breakfast. So yummy compare to American breakfast. I was so looking forward to it and it met all expectations. The cafe is well layout, cool and attractive. Services were quick. Friendly staff. I would go back in a heartbeat. U should
A. F.
Great food and great service. My dad couldn’t decide which coffee to get so the waitress bought him a small sample of two. Would recommend this place.
G. D.
Nice Sunday lunch, friendly staff and nice food, but probably don’t be in a rush. The crab meat omelette with popped rice was partially yummy.
S. S.
Travelling Canberra for work an I’m posted up at a hotel near this establishment. Been there a couple times for meals and have been welcomed by polite staff and the food I have ordered has been great. Atmosphere is nice with small green area out the front. Nice outdoor seating area.
S. R.
Bewildering would be the best word to describe my first ever experience here at the Maple + Clove.
On entry of the establishment we where not welcomed by any staff but managed to find menus and sat down to decide what we wanted.
I relise we must been a little early but as we tried to place our breakfast order and coffees at the front counter. The staff member told us that food was not yet being served for another 7-10mins. We didn't mind but instead of taking our food order basically cut us off. Once prompted by another staff member we did eventually get our order taken.
I was a little taken back by this initial experience and did consider actual leaving the establishment after having so much trouble getting our order taken. It also was very disappointing as I was quite excited to find a whole food cafe where I could basically eat anything I liked on the menu without breaking my chosen dietary requirements.
As the food was present I was glad I stayed. The meals where of high quality and large servings. I could not fault the food or coffee and would highly recommend the food alone.
Unfortunately due to the unprofessional/ poorly trained staff. I won't be coming back here in a hurry even though I was very enthusiastic to come here once I had heard of it.
S. F.
Waffles are "out of this world" amazing. Portobello Mushroom burger was undeniably delicious and the service was 100% perfect. We will be back.
J. F.
Wow. What can I say - this was an awesome lunch.
The maple-soy barramundi was perfectly done with amaaaaazing flavour, The asparagus salad was so good too. Buttermilk pancakes had a slightly crunchy crust yet chewy inside - just perfection.
Even more impressive was the poached pear - so beautifully cooked; tender yet firm and not overdone at all.
This is a busy place, really busy - I do recommend booking if possible. Service is quick though so clearly the staff are used to dealing with crowds.
V. A.
Ordered the Savoury Spelt Waffles and the Sweet Potato Hash Brown when we came here for a late breakfast. These dishes were creatively presented and tasted great! The place also has a great ambience and staff were friendly and attentive. Definitely recommend this place!
T. T.
Tasty menu and pretty drinks! Service was efficient, friendly and filling! Looking forward to the next time! Thank you for a wonderful first experience 😊
K. C.
Amazing food in Canberra ! We visited there for brunch. The food is delicious and quite healthy with good quality of ingredient.
B. M.
Excellent! Great food, great prices and great coffee. My wife and I met friends for brunch. We will definitely be back.
M. P.
Nice quiet spot to have breakfast. The banana smoothie was awesome. We had eggs on toast which were great, the extras were a bit price at $4.50 for tomatoes. Overall I'd come here for breakfast any day.
D. “.
I had a lovely porridge with blueberries and banana and an almond milk latte. Very nice!
L. Z.
Bright and airy brunch place. Food took forever, came in large portions but failed to impress. Coffee was delicious. Staff needs more training! Especially the grumpy waiter who went "Yea yea" when I asked for the check. Gees.
J. Y.
Great menu, we feel this Cafe is way better than many popular cafes in Sydney.
Their sweet potato hashbrown is highly recommended.
Will definitely come back again when we are in the area.
M. M.
Delicious food and great service!
Lovely atmosphere as the outdoor seating opens onto a grassy park
Best sweet potato chips I’ve ever had
A. K.
Got in early to get a good seat and everything was pretty seamless. Coffee was decent, service was good and I just love that the food is fresh.
L. H.
Lovely setting, accommodating staff and very good food. Highly recommended for brunch.
P. J.
Great spot to have a catch up. Plenty of good Vegetarian and Gluten Free options. I had the porridge this morning!
B. D.
Strong menu - the mapple porridge is the best! Buzzy atmosphere on a crisp Camberra morning had me singing along to the background music (apparently was not using my inside voice!)
T. P.
Took a little while for my waffle to arrive but it was well worth the wait! The coffee was great too and it's a really nice and cosy spot.
N.
The food and coffee here is good but not amazing. They have a varied menu with lots of interesting and healthy options to suit everyone. They lose a star for service. Every time I’ve visited the staff have been inattentive, not very friendly and there is an atmosphere of disorganisation.
F. G.
If it were up to me I'd give it full marks, but I'm including my partner's opinion here. We had brunch a couple of times there while visiting Canberra, I had the savoury waffles both time, and thought they were amazing; he had the crab omelette (too fishy) the first day, and the sweet potato hash brown (too soggy) the next.
In any case, the service was on point, the staff super friendly, coffee delicious, and the place itself is really pretty.
P. &. D.
Pre-lockdown, food was great but coffee was terrible - too watery, often burnt - so rarely went for drinks. Come lockdown, thought we'd give the coffee a try again, and we were blown away by the quality! I don't know when this barista joined but he is without a doubt one of the best in Canberra! Highly recommend going. I sure will be again!
B. M.
A neat, fairly intimate small cafe with a great vibe and a welcoming, comfortable low key, but subtly upmarket decor. Quick, friendly, efficient services supports an appealing menu: say yes!
B. L.
Visited for breakfast as we were staying at the hotel across the road. Busy easter weekend and our food took a good 50 mins to arrive! The savoury waffles were interesting but tasted good; coffee too weak. Service was also lacking as expected due to it being so busy . Was told to go to a counter to pay for the bill but took several minutes before a staff even acknowledged us..
S.
My favourite breakfast spot in Canberra. Consistently good coffee (something most cafes cannot manage to do here), excellent, prompt service, delicious food and reasonable prices. Attending today at about 11am, the cafe was the busiest I've ever seen it - the staff dealt with every customer request with professionalism, promptness and care. Fantastic training & delivery of customer service. Well done, Maple + Clove!
M. E.
Honestly,
It was flat out busy, so take that into account.
Coffee was good and the service, despite how busy it was, was patient and welcoming.
The breakfast was pretty bland though. The scrambled eggs were soggy and oily and not so great. We each ate less than half of them. Also, they cost almost $14 for eggs on toast so I was a little disappointed.
Other customers seemed pretty happy though.
T. N.
Stylish and good place for breakfast, with some decent healthy options, as well as the usual offerings.
L.
Great food, great coffee and good service. Lovely location and choice of indoors or outdoor dining. Gets very busy which says it all. Interesting menu choices too.
P. M.
Delish juices and food with a good variety of options. The omelette took a bit longer than expected but all in all a great meal
I. W.
The food here is of the highest quality and delicious and the portions generous. My personal favourite is the pesto eggs and goats cheese. The coffee's great and the staff are very friendly. There's plenty of indoor and outdoor seating and they're pet friendly.
J. T.
Delicious! We had a great breakfast here. Coffee was spot on too.
V. R.
Such an inviting and warm space with professional staff & amazing food. I have enjoyed at times a simple take away coffee, which was extra hot when asked. I have eaten in and the service was friendly, efficient and professional. So lovely to have an establishment that had great coffee, food and atmosphere.
J.
Only had a coffee here but it was fantastic. The food I saw looked awesome and it was really packed for a Sunday morning. Would love to visit and eat there next time.
E. M.
Great food and service . The only set back is no bill splitting.
C. G.
I cannot fault Maple + Clove. So great to experience amazing, efficient staff who know how to manage a busy restaurant and not get frazzled. The coffee and food were spot on, I struggled to pick only one thing from the breakfast menu with so many delicious options.
L. G. (.
The food was nice, but the service was average.
R. H.
Good food and coffee. Service was a little bit disjointed.
K. L.
Great food/coffee/service need to get Covid-19 safe as there was no sign in that I could see!
M. E.
Good food and service. A bit on the pricey side though.
A. W.
The best food (breakfast and lunch) I have had in Canberra (came back for both on the same day!).
Fresh, tasty, well priced and fast!
The service was amazing too.
Coffee was GREAT and they use milklab almond milk!
Highly highly recommend!
S. S.
Great location and vibe. It was very busy on the Saturday three couples went for brunch. The dishes we ordered were very generous so go hungry.
Service was good, although we had to ask for water for the table. we were there for quite a while, but staff did not approach us to ask if we required anything further however, on the flip side they didn't bother us either. altogether a great venue.
F. T.
The service, decor, mannerisms, and vibe of this establishment was top-notch.
In particular, the Barramundi dish was standout. The photo is attached, but it honestly does not do this dish justice.
The banana bread , along with the usual accompaniment of butter, also featured a guest ramekin of ricotta.
Thank you for having me. I look forward to visiting again.
S. G.
large breakfasts in a nice spot. good coffee and friendly staff.
K. E.
Coffee and banana bread are okay. Cold inside during winter, had to keep a coat on to be comfortably warm to eat breakfast.
D. C.
Staff were fantastic, the opened the door early to let me in and asked if I would like a coffee while they set up for the day. -2 out side I greatly accepted. The coffee is good and the food is nice. The wait staff are great making sure that your coffee is full and that you don't require anything else. I they are accommodating and try to fit what they can. It does get busy in the morning but the atmosphere is great. The menu is varied and tastes great . Thank you for letting me in out if the cold.
s. m.
UNREAL BREAKFAST! 5 STAR!!
I. M.
Yummy eggs, bacon and mushrooms. Served promptly with no fuss. Excellent coffee. Not a big menu, but something for everyone. Easy to park in the paid parking adjacent to the venue. Great food cooked to perfection in a very popular venue. On second visit, today, the clunky pay for meal process was mist frustrating. Make sure you find out your table identifier before you go to the cashier. Vast room for improvement in this area.
T. S.
Great coffee. Superb food. Freshly squeezed juices and healthy smoothies. Lovely ambiance. Central location in Barton. One of my favourite eateries in Canberra... but service has become a bit hit and miss of late.
K.
A late breakfast on Wednesday and Thursday was greeted with friendly and attentive staff, great coffee, and the food was sensational! Fast service, nice music and comfortable setting for leisure, business or social get-togethers.
M. D.
Great porridge breakfast and very generous portions. Better be there early as they open at 8. If you come at 9 you will be waiting a while as it gets packed.
S. M.
Decent food. Reasonably quick and friendly service. Solid four stars.
G. F.
Great place for out breakfast, coffee very good, selection of menu is good for different diets, my sister had eggs & avacardo, my brother in law had sweet waffles & I had a vegie smoothie. Staff very nice, & lots of customers for a Sunday morning. 👍
J. H. P.
Good place, food and coffee 😍
M. C.
Perfect spot for a late breakfast. Friendly staff. Nice place to catch up with friends too. 5 star
A. F.
Lots of delicious but healthy dishes. I liked my savoury waffles. Special pancake looks amazing. Wait staff were very friendly and helpful. Lots of healthy drinks as well!
E. M.
Great spot, cozy vibe, quiet outdoor seating. Good coffee and reasonable prices. Mixed thoughts on the food: the egg-white asparagus omelet wasn't bad but was quite bland (I suppose I could have expected that though) whereas the sweet potato hash brown was really good!
N. C.
My partner and I dropped in for breakfast. Both meals were delicious and great value. Busy. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
K. B.
Great service, delicious coffee. Presentation and taste of bruschetta
F. C. O.
Very nice meals and lovely service
J. B.
This place has some of the best breakfasts I’ve had - and - they easily catered for my dietary needs (vegetarian gluten free), which is always a welcome surprise. So many options, and really good coffee. Staff are friendly and helpful.
P. K.
Busy active atmosphere.
I get to eat breaky here once every few months. Scrambled eggs with toast is accompanied by a side salad. Most places this isn’t even worth eating, but here, it’s the best part! The eggs are delicious but this salad is fantastic. Not sure what the secret is, maybe it’s the dressing, or the freshness, but it’s the best accompaniment to the eggs.
Take a seat in adjacent the park after breaky and enjoy the ambiance.
I. J.
Great coffee. Friendly service. Beware it gets very busy on weekend mornings. Reservations may be a great idea
K. P.
Delicious coffee and food. I had the breakfast bruschetta yesterday and the buttermilk waffle today. Both meals were faultless.
c. O.
A great spot for breakfast. Friendly staff, great coffee and good food. What more could you want. We will definitely be back. Thank you for your hospitality.
G.
Came for the scrambled eggs after reading reviews here. I was not disappointed. Staff were friendly and helpful. Eggs were delicious and served fast. I might stay for the porridge too.
J.
Great food, quick service.
J. J.
Great brunch spot, highly reccomend the super nut smoothie
J. W.
I love this place for the healthy meals and great menu. The food is always delicious. Sometimes the food can take a little while to come out - but only when they are very busy. Totally worth the wait though!!
A. M.
Met with family for breakfast, the food was great and service was good too, lovely place for breakfast. Haven't tried their lunch yet.
A. L.
Disappointed with service. Food here has always been great but service tends to be poor.
Recent example is forgetting some of the drinks ordered and refusing to bring us a bill for us to organise sharing costs (since they don't split bills)
C. L.
Gorgeous Cafe in Barton. Had the sweet potato hash brown, which is served with gypsy ham, scrambled eggs, dukkah, toasted almonds and rocket. Absolutely delicious. Coffee is great too. I'll be back!!
J. E.
A very popular breakfast destination! Booking advisable. Great menu; friendly and effective staff.
K. H.
Friendly staff and great coffee! Thanks
R. H.
Nice coffee and good food! You don't really need much more than that!
L. H.
Really good breakfast. Food is not boring. I had sweet potato rosti (can't remember exactly what else was with it). It was yum. Table service. Casual atmosphere. Reasonable prices. Only downside is that parking is a bit tricky on weekends as underground carpark is closed. I was lucky to find a park in Sydney Ave.
L.
After waiting for an hour, (an hour, without being apologised to for wait time) lovely food arrived. however, being a sunday i would have hoped they would plan for a higher number of customers. wait time was very disappointing. anyways, good food and ambience with healthy vegan options.
J. H.
I've been all over Australia the past two weeks and the Fresh Start at Maple + Clove has been my favorite meal experience. Everything is fresh, the vibe is casual, and staff is wonderful! I may have to make my way through the rest of the menu
a. a.
Amazing Coffee and food but very crowded environment and minimum room to move. Limited time schedule and staff are so in rush for the customers to leave .
L. M.
The coffee is always amazing, the best I have had in Canberra! And don't get me started on their banana bread, it is so yummy.
It is always quite busy, so be prepared to wait a few minutes for groups.
They have connect 4 and uno to play with whilst you have a coffee which I think is very cute. It has that hipster, chill vibe with sophistication.
I love it and would highly recommend giving it a visit if you come to Canberra.
T. J.
Food was really good. I had the roasted peeled lamb with vegetables, the sauce was delicious, and the timing was good. Presentation was adorable. The Juice smoothie I had was just on the bad side for me as I felt it wasn't juiced properly, I was having bits of skin and seeds while drinking it. Maybe a little more juicing would have done the trick.
P. V.
Delicious and filling, nice staff and efficient service. Would recommend
K.
Had some brunch here when we were in Canberra last month. The cafe has a nice interior, the food is pretty tasty and the prices are reasonable. Will visit again next time we're in the city.
Try the Portobello Mushroom Burger!
P. B.
Very good porridge and coffee! Staff is kind and helpful to.
K. G.
Breakfast was fresh and delicious. We all had something different. Great customer service, excellent physical distancing in place.
I. W.
Visited with family, we've ordered six dishes. The must try is sweet potato hash brown. Other dishes were OK, the sour dough is below average, a little bit disappointing.
J. S.
Wonderful breakfast, the food was beautiful, fresh and tasty. We enjoyed our food so much. Friendly staff too.
M. S.
Lovely attentive staff, delicious banana bread with ricotta & really flavoursome coffee. Staff were very careful cleaning tables between client useage- that was great to see
A. B.
Loved my first time here. Outdoor area is in the sun, and large grass area was great for the kids and dog. Great food and drink options, large sized meals, and service was great too
E.
Good coffee and nice atmosphere. The food was nice but poached eggs came cold and were rather re-heated than cooked fresh. Otherwise, comfortable spot.
T. S.
Interesting little place
I was very surprised at how nice it is and how wonderful the food.
A bit pricey for the size of various goods on offer but it is wonderful all the same.
Will certainly make this a place to go when I'm looking for somewhere special to eat.
Great atmosphere and you can sit inside or outside.
N. B.
Great food. Service was a bit rushed. Plenty of vegetarian and gluten free options.
K. M.
Great food. Beef burger and sweet potato chips = awesome. Friends had the savoury spelt waffles and raved about it. Meals reasonably priced.
D. M.
Nice decoy. Really enjoyed the cappuccino. Buttermilk waffles paired with a generous serving of bacon was really good. Only downside is it is slightly expensive.
F. V.
One of our favorite Breakfast spot. We come here once to twice weekly. Never fails. Options friendly, good for my GF and Keto requirements.
A. M.
Really nice location with yummy food. If you are visiting in Winter, I would recommend booking a table inside. Outside is lovely when it is sunny, but it turns into a very windy corridor when the wind picks up!
E. J.
Consistently good coffee and food. Only wish you took phone orders for coffee!
N. O.
The food was creative and tasty
E.
Quality over quantity has always been my adage! This place offers chic atmosphere and quality menu offering. You have to be happy to pay a bit more. However, customer service is a hit and miss.
M. F.
Service is fantastic, food was absolutely amazing. Great taste, presentation and happy to accomodate requests. Great coffee and well located close to local hotels
B. R.
Very nice place for a quick coffee. The smoothies we're great too. We didn't eat, but food looked nice. Recommended.
B. C.
Amazing buttermilk waffle! We will keep coming until we try all the food on the menu!
p. s.
The food is decent, the staff were friendly. There's nothing special on the menu that would draw me back for a second visit.
L. B.
A smile from staff would not go astray - it's amazing how much a friendly disposition can make! Food was ok, nothing outstanding. Design and layout of space was the most enjoyable part.
G. A.
Enjoyable and healthy food. Good standard of coffees. However had some of the most miserable staff I've encountered in a cafe, made to feel more of a nuisance than welcome.
D. M.
Tasty food and fairly quick service with plenty of seating. Mostly healthy and fresh options on offer with good coffee. Vegan option available. Reasonably priced.
A. T. (. B.
Breakfast was awesome, they were busy so the food took a while but worth it
P. T.
Lovely food but very pricey.
J. E.
Nice breakfast spot, albeit very busy. The food was excellent. The service was fine. Worth a stop if you have the time to sit and relax.
S. M.
Sunday morning we grab the papers and head out at 9 to try a new cafe in Canberra. This week we found Canberra's cafe oasis tucked away in Barton. Maple + Clove has fab coffee, great service, generous fresh food and great value. I'm a regular cafe patron and this is the best one for weekend breakfast/brunch I've found in Canberra.

Fresh produce in all their dishes makes for a delicious and healthy meal. Good portion of avo made me happy. Expect a wait time during peak hours.

I live very close to this place and Sunday morning coffee from this cafe has become a must. Best cafe in Canberra in my opinion.
J. S. P.
Just fantastic. Really enjoyed my meal and coffee, the setting is beautiful and the service was great. The perfect place to have a great dining experience.
J.
Service is a bit chaotic and they get the coffee orders mixed up regularly. Otherwise, it's a nice venue
B. J. (.
Scrambled eggs on sweet potato hashie was fantastic. Pot of chai was pretty good for a tea bag. Eggs n bacon eaten by others looked pretty good ... broccoli in salad was a nice touch. Lovely little location nestled among swanky hotels/apartments with nice grassy area for kids to run around.
H. B.
I enjoyed a relaxing lunch there just today. Staff are friendly and meals are priced well as you are getting quality ingredients. Yes they were busy, but well worth the wait.
T. D.
Excellent coffee and fabulous food exceptionally presented using premium ingredients. This cafe is always bustling for a reason. One of my go to cafes in Canberra.
P. R.
Lovely experience - excellent and attentive service and great food. The coffee was great too. (Although no cinnamon for my latte.)
M. V.
Excellent coffee - very consistent flavor.
Reasonably priced with friendly staff.
Y. Y.
Nice place. We grabbed a take away. The coffee was a bit burnt but it was very busy.
Would like to have a proper brekky here one day :)
J. S.
Beautiful location and delicious food
S.
Food was well cooked although a bit bland, drinks and service was amazing. Better places to get breakfast from but still good
M.
Food still good, but they wiped down our table with a smelly cloth and created a smelly table. Word is the business changed hands a few month back, the staff quality has dropped.
B. W.
It was ok. Full breakfast was the usual bacon, eggs, spinach, mushrooms, tomato and toast. Nothing wrong with it. Clean and friendly and the coffee quite tasty.
J. B.
My favourite brunch spot in Canberra. So many amazing healthy options! Everything is always fresh and the staff are amazing!
S. J.
You could pay $20 at some hipster cafe and get food arranged like a Jackson Pollock painting, or you could come to this nice corporate looking cafe to get some well thought-out quality food, arranged meticulously, for the same price! Looks popular with the locals, lots of families with kids, people in activewear with their dogs.
W. S.
Nice food. Clean and comfortable seating. Prompt, friendly service. A little pricey but worth it
S. H.
Super trendy, super busy, super service - demonstrated by a willingness to readily accommodate 'off-menu' orders.
P. T.
Great food. Awesome staff
A. R.
Really average food, incredibly overpriced. The coffee is good, but again - overpriced. They're trying so hard to be so hip and totally miss the mark.
I. M.
Just grabbed take away. A veggie wrap, which was very yummy. And a coffee, again very good. Looked to have a nice atmosphere and setting.
B. J.
This place gets busy so they must be doing something right. I reckon that's the food though, cos my coffee is terrible.
N. S.
Maple and Clove has a menu that boasts foods that are not only delicious but also incredibly good for you. Coffee is fantastic and consistent and the staff are always delightful.
L. R.
The waffles with salmon, avocado, spinach and poached eggs are fantastic. Great coffee too
A. H.
I ordered some breakfast
And everything is good
Like the food and service
E. C.
Food was delicious, coffee was great, service friendly & atmosphere (sitting outside overlooking the courtyard) relaxed :)
C. W.
Fantastic, healthy options of food. Great place for a brunch and a smoothie.
S. B.
Coffee was very good, and the location/fit out is very modern and stylish. Didn't get a chance try their food, hopefully next time.
L. K.
Great customer service. Food menu was slightly over priced for my opinion but coffee was perfectly priced and brilliant for a city cafe.
E. J.
Coffee good, lovely setting inside and out.
Menu not extensive and a little pricey but still nice
V. H.
My food tasted amazing and was beautifully presented. The prices were a bit high, but I think it's due to the quality of the ingredients (many of which are locally sourced).
H. G. u.
We have been here long time ago. Today we drop a visit again. Food is great. Lovely cafe
S. M.
The breakfasts are awesome. Best coffee in Canberra so far...staff are really nice and the location is so secluded.
K.
One of the best breakfasts and coffees ( had 3) and smoothies I have ever had in my life. Highly recommended!
M. R.
Great food and a lovely atmosphere. I found the Menu didn't have too many options, but nevertheless a place you should visit
N. N.
Great restaurant, perfect for lunches or weekend brunches. Great tasting coffee and the food is delicious. Service is great, too.
A. S.
Good food, but a bit corporate. It was nice to see savory waffles on the menu, but they were a bit dry.
D.
Beautiful amazing food. Only issue was my egg was over cooked. But other then that great.
J. M.

T. A.

Great vibe. Food looks well presented - steak sandwich had very little steak but what I ate was nice
J. L.
Lovely staff and great unassuming food. Thankyou for such a warm experience especially when dining with young children
J. W.
Good food and nice staff, but won't even split a bill 50/50 for a large table. Ridiculous.
S. M.
Really interesting food and drink options here -bit healthier than the standard cafe fare. Good place to go if you work in the area
G. P.

Good coffee, yummy breakfast. You may balk at the prices on the menu but the portions are large.
T. B.
A delightful little cafe surrounded by many beautiful hotels. It was a little pricey but worth every penny with quick service and friendly staff.
S. T.
Love Maple and Clove, great coffee and delicious selection of wholefood meals. One of my faves in Canberra.
R. S.
Great menu and service
A. P.
Food is acceptable, coffee find, atmosphere too loud and rattly, not intimate at all.
Staff did not go above an beyond in anyway, barely floated around.
