Great breakfasts and gorgeous cakes. I ordered the blueberry waffle and it was presented beautifully and tasty, especially the passionfruit curd it came with. The coffee was strong and good but I prefer it a little hotter. The staff are very friendly, especially the lady at the door who seats people. I think the menu is a little overpriced but I do still highly recommend Ricardos.

First thing that will catch your eye would be their colorful and unique range of delicious looking pastries and sweets display. Our first time in Ricardo's and nothing to complain about. Two page menu, which is not a bad thing. Food is not like something unique, but you will be definitely satisfied with the taste and the presentation was awesome. The hosts at the door and the counter were super nice. Definitely worth the try for a nice brunch. You may have to wait in line for a few mins during busy hours, so be ready!! :)

This is a very popular venue, the day we visted it was chock a block. Distancing was pretty good too. Inside was a feast for the eyes with so many amazing cakes. The staff were animated a friendly, even holding off on our coff until the buns were ready. The coffee was good but we ordered large so there was a lot of milk, the breakfast bun was very good brioche bun firm egg, tasty bacon and gooey cheese. Was a bit pricey but it was quality tucker.

The food is delicious, well portioned and aesthetically pleasing as a cherry on top. The drinks are delicious. The coffee is crafted with expertise. The staff are very friendly. It’s the kind of place where smiles are contagious and everyone inside the shop is feeling just a little extra friendly. They also sell a very wide array of beautiful small cakes and several coffee beans. Lastly, the cafe is modern and clean. This is a pretty simple review but that’s because this is just simply a really good cafe.

Okay, so the wait for a Sunday more was only 10ish mins, which is okay. I've noticed a lot of places prefer reservations but lucky we did not wait long. LOOK AT THE CAKE FRIDGE. So I ordered the sandwich which was nice, lacked flavour tbh. Iced beverages were good and eggs were okay.

Been to Ricardo's Cafe several times. Although it is on the pricier side of things (compared to cafes in the area), you are paying for what you get in terms of quality. The only time I have been dissatisfied coming here was when I order the Calamari (stale and stringy), other than that, the food is delicious and well presented. Then there are the cakes. Amazing! They look incredible to the point where you don't even want to eat them, but trust me, it's worth it!

Great local cafe for me with good food and coffee. My favourite breakfast is the ‘Avo on toast’ with poached eggs. Wholesome and delicious! It will keep me going a whole day. They have an impressive cabinet of artistically designed sweet treats to choose from but what I really love are the scrumptious Portuguese tarts which I occasionally treat myself to. Usually always busy and feels a lot overcrowded at times. Inside and outside seating available.

Wonderful place with plenty of healthy, delicious and delectable food offerings. I enjoy visiting Ricardos for brekkie with friends. Eating outdoors is always nice, particularly at this time of year with the warm weather. The service is fast and friendly although I do find it strange that I can’t be provided water at my table instead of being told to fetch it myself. I love checking out the display of colourful, artistic and sweet treats. They always make my day a little brighter.

Among the best coffee in Canberra, but it is the absolutely stunning, delicious and brightly colourful bakery treats shaped as all kinds of different objects that is the real drawcard here. Generally busy at most times and often there is a queue for tables, book ahead if you want to be certain of being served at a particular time. Even if you do have to wait though it is well worth it, there are very few other cafe's in Canberra like this one.

As far as gluten free dessert goes, Ricardo's are absolute winners. Plenty of options for those with intolerances (gluten, nut, dairy, gelatine free). Prices are from the $10 mark. They do birthday cake sized desserts too.

Bright and busy, a popular suburban eatery for both eat-in and takeaway...family oriented but still capable of turning out some good dishes. Good cake selection. Don't be put off about being seated outside during the winter: the heating and plastic drops are amazingly effective in making the verandah area quite cozy. Service is always accommodating. Quite crowded on the weekends so be careful of your timing.

Nice desserts, hot chocolate average. Breakfast could be hit and miss at times. Most of the times, the place is crowded with lots of people doing takeaways. Menu is the same as Space kitchen and so is the price $$$. Nice playground and seating area with green space just outside the cafe so convenient for parents to let kids burn off steam while keeping an eye on them from the cafe outdoor seating area. Riccardos has always had amazing pastries, sweets and coffee, however their sandwiches have been nothing but disappointing. Both our sandwiches were more than $20 and were plain, simple and not very nice. Too much iceberg lettuce, not enough sauce or flavour to even remotely justify the price. Everything else is fabulous however

Ricardo's is always busy because the food and the coffee are so good. Whether you're after a hearty breakfast or a quick coffee, you'll be sure to find what you want here and the service is good. When you add the amazing range of in house desserts and cookie sandwiches from Butterbing in Melbourne, Ricardo's is on of my favourite local spots.

Went with the kids to the café to brighten their days. The experience didn’t live up to the hype. The KFC burger and the milk shakes were nice. Later we ordered a kid’s hot cake. They turned out to be ordinary. The person who served us was so busy that she forgot to give us cutlery later I have to go and get my own.

Excellent food and cakes that are on the pricey side. The portions are good. There are indoor and outdoor seating and ample parking since it's a shopping centre. Very busy venue on weekends. It is best to call ahead and book and hope they don't give you a table with an hour of seating limit. I had a big breakfast and shared a mango cheesecake with friends. The breakfast was a big plate of what you'd expect. The mango cheesecake was delicious. Quite light and tasty in both taste and texture. The big breakfast is served on a wide plate that is not flat on the bottom. So if you push down anywhere off centre on the plate, it will tilt up the plate and make an unpleasant sound like you're a manic as it drops back down. I guess I deserve it for eating a big breakfast...

My favourite place for breakfast/brunch. The food is always delicious and looks way fancier than it needs to be (good instagram spam if that's what you're after!!). It's more than your average cafe fare! Also you have to go to look inside the dessert cabinets, a Willy Wonka Wonderland. And the coffee is delicious.

I've been going to Ricardo's for many years but lately the prices have gone up and the quality has gone down. $3.50 for a slice of toast? $5.00 for extra bacon? Go here if you like the desserts but there are better places for breakfast around Belco.

It was definitely the trendy place 12 years ago and still is to this day. Keep in mind, it is a popular place and therefor quite busy most of the time so I recommend calling to book a table but it's worth it!!

I've always been a fan of Ona coffee but the last 3 I've had there have been well below standard. I've had to go back because it was missing sugar on two occasions. The almond croissant had a very runny custard which would be fine in a bowl but made eating it in hands a complete mess. On a positive the mushroom shaped dessert was tasty and the Ferrero Rocher was also really nice.

What an incredible find. As an avid lover of coffee and desserts, Ricardo's is an absolute dream. Their baristas give justice to the ONA coffee beans they use and are professional and friendly. Staff were great and the desserts were absolutely divine. I've always been a massive fan of Space Kitchen's desserts and the atmosphere and ambience is set the moment you walk in. The array of desserts on display is enticing and instantly makes you want to sit down and order one of everything. We eventually decided on the Salted Caramel dessert and the Opera - a plethora of flavours focusing mainly on hazelnut, caramel, chocolate and vanilla. Everything was absolutely picturesque from the main meals, to brunch to the desserts and especially the coffee. It's not often I get excited about a cafe and their coffee, however Ricardo's is such a stand out against the multiple cafes Canberra has to offer. The place has reasonable pricing and every dollar is more than worth it. Will definitely be visiting again soon and am keen to see what else they have to offer.

Good coffee and nice sweets. The desserts here are more visually appealing. I'm personally not too fond of the location, which I'm happy to visit for supermarkets, post office, news agency, butcher and barber shop. The parking area is huge but not easy to find a spot unless you're willing to walk all the way to the other side (and with the new buildings coming on the busiest side, it won't get any better). Although not being a sweets person, I always walk away very satisfied with the amazing friendly staff.

I have come to Ricardo's for a couple of years and have been thrilled each time. The food is extraordinary - not just the pastries and sweets, but the mains and savoury meals too. The presentation is charming and fun, the décor is confident, the flavours exquisite and the staff have always been really polite and helpful too. The only bad point has been that the coffee has been burnt about 1 out of 3 times that I've been. But I can live with that to have the best cakes on the north side of Canberra.

Excellent coffee. Pastries/sweets out of this world. Considered a local icon because of this. Busy but the service is good, so you don't wait long for a table. Presentation of food is good. I did not enjoy the special sandwich of the day. Bread dry and difficult to cut. Had some sour mustard or mayo or sauce melted into the bread. This was overpowering But I like my dressings very lightly soured. I will be back, but will choose more carefully in future.

I like the calamari and it’s alwas good each time I get it. And I like the coffee here too. It is always busy in this shop but they always make your food quick. The fresh juice is a bit thinned down with water I think but is ok. Many positives about this place for lunch. Decent menu with good consideration for people with food intolerances - although I'm not sure why the default for fried potato chips includes gluten. Surely you could choose a GF pre-blanched product to stock? Staff are well aware of what is or isn't suitable for diet constrained diners. Good. I ordered the 'KFC' burger - featuring Korean flavours. I did find it a bit heavy and not quite as balanced as I would like. The brioche bun was too sweet for my tastes (I should have known!) and it seemed to muck up the overall balance of the dish. I'd like to see a bit more variation/rotation of the menu. Expanded outdoor eating area is welcome - but insect control is problematic. For a place that seems to have gained it's reputation for nice cake and coffee, they do a very decent job of catering for a good casual lunch - and meeting the needs of customers with dietary requirements. Parking is just OK and we've been happy to drive a few kilometres in order to eat here.

We do enjoy the food here, but it's always such a loud busy place. Have never found the waitstaff to be particularly friendly, in particular the lady that blocks the entrance and makes you wait for a table even when the place is empty. The sweet patisserie is definitely the highlight. There are always different cronuts and always delicious.

Arriving it was busy but well organised. My mocha was not luke warm as other places but an enjoyable hot so I could enjoy it. I normally hate paying for salads because I can make it at home but the haloumi salad was amazing! I was so impressed with the quantity and quality, the speed was great considering how busy it was. The desserts are the same as space kitchens and are disappointing - the cakes had little flavour due to the gelatin and it was too big for the lack of tastes they offered We bought 3 overall- one each at space kitchen the day before and my partner bought one of the others at Ricardo's.... all were disappointing Other than this I have no negatives it was great and I'd highly recommend it!

A friend recommended this cafe to me, and when I saw the location (a suburban shopping centre) I was a bit surprised by her recommendation. However, she was correct - this is a great cafe to have brunch, coffee and cakes. It can get very noisy on a weekend though - try to get seated outside if the weather's suitable - and if you're not a fan of hipster drinking glasses avoid the shakes, but otherwise a very nice place to go if you're keen to avoid the usual Canberra cafe suspects.

Outrageously popular. Be prepared to line up and be ushered in by door staff which feels more like a nightclub than a cafe but that's due to its popularity. The food is high quality and service is very efficient and prompt even when busy. The staff are friendly. And surprisingly, and very unusual for a cafe, it is still possible to hold a conversation, without straining to hear and without shouting, even when busy. I am not sure how they accomplish this, but establishments such as Stanley's (Bruce) intentionally deploy sound dampening material to achieve this. Also has a playground outside for kids. Five stars.

Ricardo's is an absolutely superb cafe and patisserie disguised as a shopping mall coffee shop. If it weren't for the incredibly presented and creative cakes and the constantly busy atmosphere you might walk right by it without realising what you're missing. A local favorite, Ricardo's Cafe is always packed full of people, but with lots of tables inside and out, there's sure to be a place for you. The food is a little higher than average in price but well worth it. Another bonus is that they serve all day breakfast! Try their potato rosti, which is very filling, and their Nutella iced chocolate is a wicked treat. If cakes are your weakness, they have beautiful fresh pastries.
