Last day in Canberra; stopped here for breakfast and a coffee. Staff were professional and friendly, it has an inviting atmosphere inside and out with the beautiful aroma of the roasted beans in the air. Had a Benedict that was cooked to perfection. Absolutely will be coming back. Thank you for the great food and service, guys :)

This place is great, lovely atmosphere and yummy coffee. The outdoor sitting area is cool and shady for summer. The staff are amazing and put in a special effort to make you feel extra welcome. Awesome service for regulars!!

Let’s be honest, I only come here to check out the chef (Joe). He’s damn sexy, oh and he’s a good chef too. Coffee is usually good, on the odd occasion it’s been average, but overall, a decent cafe with a great selection of food and drinks.

With so many cafe’s and coffee spots in the area it’s hard to see how one coffee spot can stand out so far from the crowd. That’s exactly what the bearded bean does. Tom and Joe make an awesome foundation and are supported by fantastic staff. Never had a bad experience at the bean. Having moved back home to Perth, this is the one thing I really miss about my time in Canberra. In a crazy, political, public service town, the bean provided an oasis of sanity and a feel of close family. Thanks Tom. Geoff Bell

It’s difficult to judge a coffee shop in the centre of the city. The available competition brings an edge of tension - if your coffee is not up to scratch, it will very quickly lose the crowds of tired-eyed businesspeople that’s necessary to pay the rent. Bearded Bean is always full. While not a specialty coffee shop like The Espresso Room or CoffeeLab (which is just around the corner!) Bearded Bean make sure their coffee is hot, well poured, fresh, with clean machines. It’s good. It’s not an experience, but it is GOOD. Why is it that I stop in at Bearded Bean instead of anywhere else? When I could get a Melbourne Coffee Culture esque experience at CoffeeLab just around the corner? Bearded has an edge, and it is its people. All smiles, they quickly learned my name and my order after only a few weeks. Always ready to give a tiny biscuit on top of your cup, and extra staff taking orders *in the queue* to speed up the ordering process, Bearded Bean makes the entire experience excellent. And then I ordered their food. For a small coffee shop, their lunch options were far better than they needed to be. Eating a fantastic bacon, chorizo and egg wrap I was dumbfounded at the quality offered by such a small coffee shop that was already excelling in all of the necessary qualities it needed to be excelling in. The staff here remember their customers by name and the regular's orders are remembered too. A cool hip cafe in the Heart of the City. This is out every week meeting spot and sure meets and exceeds expectations.
