Gorgeous setting, delicious food and great coffee. Some seats available but during the day it's more about a picnic setting with plenty of space for little ones to safely move around. Beautiful beach front with great views of the Casuarina Beach and ocean views...shared space with the Surf Lifesaving Club. Amazing, relaxing spot...you won't be disappointed 🥑🍉🥭🍍🍓🫐🍅🍥☕🧋❤❤

Perfect view, great breakfast, tasty coffee & busy friendly staff. Go early (~8am) before the crowd. Pet friendly, kids friendly & bird friendly. Located near the dripstone park & picnic, lots of room for kids to play - of course the beach is there as well. Vegan burger is filling, beautifully presented and tasty ($22) - large coffee (4.5$ + .5 for large). There is a Sunday surcharge. Biking distance from nightcliff, walking possible and enjoyable (in winter/dry). Must drive, no buses (cdu closest stop). Very enjoyable and relaxing.

A delightful surf club with a lovely beach and an extensive range of menu options in a great locale. Also has a part upstairs open later on with a bar. Weekends are particularly delightful, extremely child friendly and has a tropical garden feel to it. Staff very friendly.

An unexpected gem. The kitchen in a small space under the surf club at Free Beach produces very good coffee and a great range of meals. We had some very tasty share platters. The food is Spanish and middle eastern inspired. The outlook is wow, the sunsets are best. A collection of old and handmade garden furniture under shady trees really adds to the laid back feel. Plenty of grassy space, ideal for kids and dogs.

Really nice setting and menu. Had sold out of some menu items and had incorrect signage about others. The food was tasty but extremely overpriced. $26.40 ( was 10% extra for a weekend)for a burger with no sides is super expensive. Otherwise though great venue for sunset

Beautiful place to have breakfast overlooking the beach or on the beach, your choice. Great meals with lots of healthy options and juices, you can still get your bacon and eggs. There are limited tables and chairs but byo picnic blankets is the go.

Fantastic location. You can't beat that gorgeous sunset. The food is good but you never really know when it's going to turn up. I love the laid back atmosphere and that it's dog and kid friendly. Just don't come when you are in a hurry or really hungry. Having said that, I think they perform miracles feeding the crowds from that tiny kitchen.

One of the most pleasurable breakfast experiences due to the location and view. I like their coffee and their menu is a little complicated but the food is good in taste and freshness which they bring to you. Get there early for your choice of where you want to sit as after 8:30-9 on weekends it gets busy. When it is busy you have to wait in a single line as there is only one order point and service gets a little slow. It is dog friendly and family small children friendly. Just so you know.

While it's a nice view, good atmosphere and the likes, I can't say my experience was the greatest here. There was quite some wait time for food and the portions seemed a little small however tasty. The best thing about this place is it's lovely location on the beach. Dinner at sunset is pretty special. I had a mushroom and prosciutto pasta which I thought was pretty good value at 19 dollars. My partner had a Mauritania meal which was also good value. Very friendly staff. Well worth dropping in for a meal or coffee.

Great open space to spend a lazy morning. Quite expensive though. I've been 4 times and have had to wait over 40 minutes every time for my coffee as well. But it's a great open space on the beach to take kids and it's lovely not to have to worry about them and what they're getting into while enjoying your coffee.

Agree with the other reviews. Very friendly environment. Very unique to Darwin. My favorite spot during the dry season. Affordable yet very fresh food with a european twist. My favourite place to start the day. Sitting on comfy beanbags on green grass under shady trees, looking out at the ocean, cool sea breeze, sipping delicous coffee or tea and having a hearty breakfast. Then go for a stroll to the beach, feel the water on your legs and go back to have more breakfast! The location is really priceless. You can enjoy nature and have a really nice breakfast at the same time. I can't think of any place more beautiful and relaxing for a start of the day. I recommed the breaky roll or the smashed avocado toast. The crepes are very delicous! Bring your kids! Mine loves it so much. They can run around safely, play on the beach and the water. Bring your dog. If your dog is well behaved, bring him along. Basil, the friendly, cuddly restaurant dog loves playmates! The staff is very friendly, hard working and doing a great job. Foods and drinks are fresh and tasty, beautifully prepared and promptly brought to you to your place. I usually spend 2 -3 hours there in the morning, I just don't want to leave, its so beautiful. Sunset. Alcohol is served at the bar from the DSLSC up on the first floor. What a place to sip your cold beer, hang out with friends, family or loved one! What a view when the sun sets! Just amazing. You have to give these guys credit for what they accomplished. Young, hard working people who really make an huge effort to make this place work.. and it works! I hope this place will stay as it is for a long time. A secret hidden gem in Darwin!

This is the only venue serving beverages and food, for several kilometres on any direction. Located under the Surf Lige Saving Club (SLSC). The access road and carpark are sealed, but the road is narrow, and curved, with an obstructed view - exercise caution when entering and leaving. Dining is on lawns, under shady trees, very spacious and spread-out, overlooking Casuarina Beach - very soothing. Furniture is rustic. Breeze is refreshing, but can be strong - usually not a problem. The coffee here tastes like real coffee - $5.00 for a large. There is a limited range of snacks - a bit expensive - $20 for a hamburger with the lot. But there are daily specials. Vegos are amply catered for. Order at the cashier's counter, and your order will be brought to your table. Very popular with the morning-coffee patrons. If you like this place, it's probably because of the venue itself, and the coffee.

Such a breath of fresh air at this place .. literally, its hidden away next to the surf club and a very slow relaxed vibe you can park then walk past the counter and make your order, choose your flag then walk towards the ocean, sit down and enjoy the views.
