What a yummy meal! Can highly recommend for a casual meal out that’s not too expensive and not to fancy! The garlic mushroom omelette was soooooo delicious and so was the crumpets! The Staffa are really friendly and relaxed! They do get very busy so if your planning on heading here with more than just 2 I would book! Thanks team at Ginger Brown for an excellent experience

Stopped for lunch on my way up to Mt Wellington this afternoon. Staff were really friendly and welcoming. Didn't get a chance to try the special dish which was beef brisket. Ended up ordering a poke bowl with a three quarter latte, both were average. The coffee tasted a little off, it was as if the coffee had a burnt or bad after taste. Could be the timing of the pour or maybe just the beans. The poke bowl was slightly dry, the flavours didn't seem to compliment each other too well. However, I got some good feedback on the panini as well as the desert.

Ginger brown is such a lovely local cafe, full of tenants from different age groups, locals as well as tourists. We ordered the corned beef benedict and it was one of the best Benedict I’ve had even thought I’m usually a bigger fan of smoked salmon egg Benedict. The poached eggs were done beautifully, the corned beef had a nice flavour, the potato hash was hearty and I loved the crispy edges. The best part was the pickled red onion, I’m a big fan of a good pickled veg and it hit all the right spots for me. The coffee was really nice too, and the waiters were attentive. Overall, I highly recommend this spot for fellow tourists if you are in the area, I wish I could come back to sample other dishes!

First time in South Hobart in ten years and I found out housing is not the only thing that has doubled in price - the menu in Ginger Brown has as well but if you can charge more than Daci & Daci more power to you. Bit sad given that it used to be a hipster hangout with a lot of Artsy types and musos back in the day when it still had it's original owners and all of the funky art on the walls was available for purchase...but time marches on. Staff were great and even though it was really busy they were charmingly efficient. But the Coffee tasted off which was a bummer.

My only regret is not going to Ginger Brown more than once on my trip to Hobart. They were closed over the holidays so we only got to go right before. Oh, it was worth it! Friendliest service and the food was so amazing. So many gluten free options beyond just GF bread. GF hot cakes are a must order! My husband had a breakfast burrito bowl which was one of the best breakfasts he has had!

Popular cafe in South Hobart, busy on the weekend. Mostly indoor, minimal outdoor seating, dog neighbourhood. Situated on a busy but ok main street, ample street parking available. No restrictions on the weekends. The cappuccino was good, dark chocolate topping was nice. Pictured is the Hot cakes with chocolate dukka, raspberry drizzle and a whipped banana and buttery cream. It was really great! Great flavour, not too sweet. Definitely recommend it! Recommend to reserve if a weekend.

Wow, is this place popular on a Sunday morning. Finished doing some trial running up on the mountain and passed this one the way back down the hill. Breakfast called. One of the trendy cafes in West Hobart. Nice staff and a nice feel.

One of the two coffeeshops in South Hobart, nice atmosphere, good coffee and baked goods. Can be busy, especially in the weekends and expect extended wait for your coffee. If it is busy, go just up the road to Honey Brown, same ownership but vegetarian and shorter wait (especially for coffee). Of note: the 3.5AUD small ginger cookie is not bad, but definitely overpriced.

Firstly, the staff are great. Very helpful and courteous with a smile. Layout is good with multiple choices from lounge, bench and tables. The coffee is good but I might ask for another shot next time. I had a nice poached eggs and bacon but there is a nice selection of other food as well. Just moved in around the corner and so very happy this is going to be our local cafe. Delicious coffee, quick and friendly service. The menu is different and definitely delicious. Its busyness reflects the quality. There was room for a pram but a bit small for a group of prams. No 'kids' menu but plenty of options. Good space to wait for takeaways so you're not jamming yourself up against people dining in.

Came during weekday so we got a table within minutes, limited seating in the sofa so prepare to wait a little, but definitely worth the wait. First impression was the place was so busy and they were trying to service everyone in the best way. I had the roast pork belly and a cappuccino, I would say the pork belly was so delicious with lots of flavour and juicy. Definitely recommend. My friend had the eggs and lamb, which was a very generous portion. A must try if wanting a good brunch/breakfast in town.

Lovely place with creative food and friendly staff 😊 I found this place from trip advisor and also got recommended from local guide! Coffee was good! Strong nutty flavour and smooth. Benedict with corned beef was super impressive. It is not ordinary boring egg bennies! Corned beef was well-matched with creamy hollandaise sauce! Souvlaki with lamb was like the combination of half greek and half mexican food. I like their sauce and the theme of the food. Lamb was soft and juicy! Yum! Would like to try more food here:-)

This place is a little gem in South Hobart. I'm sure it's a favourite amongst locals, although for us we just arrived into town and noticed a busy but quaint cafe. Wasn't sure how hipster it would be but the coffee was fantastic! Service was fast and fantastic. Coffees arrived within minutes of ordering. The menu options were great and all 3 dishes at our table were a pleasant surprise - the poke bowl, brown eggs benedict and Green eggs with slow cook lamb. Good flavours and cooked to perfection. Nothing to fault here and the perfect pitt stop.

Absolutely love their Brown Benedict and Slow-cooked Lamb. Place can be packed during peak hours and the weekends so I recommend getting there early. Service can be really fast or slow depending on the crowds. Recommended place for a nice brunch. Updated review: They've changed the menu significantly and removed some of the really good stuff. The new souvlaki bowl tasted weird; clashing flavours that don't work together, beans and roast pumpkin? Some coconut tzatziki thing? Sorry but it just tasted odd. My friend and I are regular customers and would always order the previous slow-cooked lamb salad bowl. Unfortunately, with the menu's revision, we will have to look towards other brunch places because the food just didn't really work out. Their old lamb salad bowl was just superb, which got revised to a burrito bowl and then completely removed. Credit to where it's given, their coffees and pastries are really good. Would come again if the old stuff are back on menu.
