Comments of Harbour Lights Cafe

As a solo diner I enjoyed my breakfast here so much I came back twice.
Service is friendly and efficient. The food, bacon Benedict, was delicious and the fresh sprouts on top was a nice touch.
Outdoor seating is nice on a warm day, but inside next to the window (upstairs or downstairs) is a great spot to enjoy your meal and people watch.
A. P.
Charming café that boasts lovely food, atmosphere, and friendly service. The staff appeared to know most customers (and their pets) by name, a sure-fire indicator of a great spot. My pancakes were delicious with great seasonal fruit and perfect portion size (nothing's worse than paying almost $20 for 1-2 little underwhelming pancakes that are inexpensive to make). I loved that the cream, maple syrup and ice-cream were served in little dishes - nothing worse than it all melting into one puddle, great plating. My only complaint would be that the food took about half an hour to come out, a bit long, but it was a Sunday and we weren't in a hurry. Warm and friendly customer service and tasty food with a nice view of the harbour.

Excellent breakfast spot. We liked all the meals and drinks we ordered. It's a nice location with views (I suggest a reservation if you want a table with views). We were surprised by just how quickly the drinks arrived with the meals hot on their heels despite being quite busy. The only negative was that it was really quite noisy inside
..but I didn't remove a star as the noise seemed to be mostly due to a table with boisterous kids.... perhaps it's not always noisy!
D. J.
Cannot complain. Coffee was nice, carrot cake was nice, staff were friendly and efficient. Pizza looked good but I didn't try it. Outdoor seating is covered and heated.
M. M.
Popped in for a coffee and bacon and egg roll, fabulous service and great food!
The view back over the Hobart wharf district also adds to the experience.
A strong recommend from me!
V. L.
Outstanding location, service and meals!! The kids described the pancakes as an explosion in their mouth. Everything was delicious.
Absolutely outstanding!!
C. K.
Super friendly staff, delicious food and lovely coffee! We would be more than happy to dine in again. 😊
Only downfall it can get quite loud upstairs, but other than that a great restaurant/Cafe.
B. B.
Very busy bit staff had us seated quite fast despite being run off their feet I had big breakfast which was nice
G. C.
Food was beautiful as always. I came here on my last tassie holiday 3 years ago and had to come back. I've since had a gastric sleeve and can't eat much, but every bite I could fit in was fantastic. Definitely my favourite little Cafe in Hobart
M. T.
Stopped in for breakfast. The service was prompt and friendly. The food was excellent and good sized proportions. I’d definitely eat here again.
H. F.
Delicious food! I had the beef burger which the patty melts in your mouth and all of the other flavours go together really really well!! My girlfriend had the bacon melts on Turkish bread which looked really good and she said tasted amazing! The price was very good considering the size of the meals and the drinks! The staff members where kind, helpful and friendly and the food was extremely quick and fresh! Definitely going to be revisiting the Harbour Lights Cafe again soon!!!
J. T.
Amazingly good food and service. For breakfast ordered the Salmon Benedict - so good and hit the right spot. And had the Yacthie scallop pie - totally blown me away... great food and coffee. Cheers.
S. M.
Very friendly staff who are so helpful and completely on top of everything. The customer service is amazing. The food is also delicious with everything made well and great value for money. One of the best cafes we've been to in Hobart!
(Also ask for a table on the top level near the window - great views 🙂)
A. F.
We were enjoying our first morning in Hobart and asked our receptionist (Somerset on the Pier) for a breakfast recommendation.
The nearby Harbour Lights Cafe turned out to be a great option. Although they were busy we were seated, ordered, served and satisfied in timely fashion.
Great menu, good coffee; the Eggs Benedict (with Tassie salmon) + side of mushrooms was a delicious way to start the day.
Great setting, professional staff and reasonably priced quality food.
G. B.
Conveniently located across the main wharf in Hobart. Good use of space with seating available inside, upstairs and in front. Great range of options to choose from the menu. Enjoyed both the food and coffee. Staff were also very friendly. Pleasant place to enjoy brunch.
L. S.
Loved the venue and the view but was disappointed with the food. Ordered the salmon Benedict and the eggs were undercooked, small portion and just looked and tasted like normal sliced bread. Oat chai latte was nice though. One staff member was lovely but the other didn't smile once the whole time she served us. Average experience overall, wouldn't rush to return.
J. L.
A wide range of breakfast options available, reasonably priced, good taste. Opens up early, great location, and friendly staff. You can choose to sit indoor or outdoor. 2 days in Hobart I went there twice for brekkie.
G. K.
Great cafe, super friendly and professional staff, good food & reasonable prices. 5/5 cheers
R. Y.
One of my favourite cafe in Hobart! Super friendly and attentive staff. Always having my Saturday brunch there every week.
R. R.
Visited the cafe today and had the pancake stack. Nuttella smeared on top layer could have been given a miss. Fresh whisked cream in side dish rather than spray can cream for the price wouldn't have gone astray. On the plus side service was quick
If they want to see a correct pancake stack then look at this picture.
D. M.
You can tell how good this place is based on the number of people who queue to grab coffee or breakfast here on a Saturday morning. The team were so nice and whilst waiting for my coffee, it was amazing to see how busy the kitchen and barista were - a real buzz! Coffee was hot, smooth and delicious!
J. G.
Mixed bag here - my breakfast was tasty but the people I was with didn't have great meals. Mango and strawberry smoothie was tasteless. Coffee was okay. Service was good, very bubbly staff.
J. G.
Great cafe. Not only the food was good but the staff was so friendly. The atmosphere is peaceful and relaxed, perfect to enjoy a good Hobart brekky and coffee to begin the day with. The cafe has many details in yellow giving the ambience some warmth and great lighting.
T. C.
Very busy little cafe on the waterfront, but exceptional wait staff and chefs as the service was great and the food was fast and delicious!
Had the salmon Benedict and the portion was perfect, hollandaise was great and I always love when the toast is cut thin so you don’t fill up unnecessarily on bread 👌
Fiancé had the breakfast bruschetta and can’t recommend that enough.
Great view from the windowsill
R. C.
Let me start by saying "WOW" ! Highly recommended. Deserving 5 Stars.
It's not often you come across an establishment that has it all. View, Atmosphere, Great Staff, Unbelievable Food combined with Such Friendly & Polite Service. I am so looking forward to returning here. Yum.
F. G.
Excellent coffee and service, as we all know Big breakfast has that same stuff everywhere, but they can make each part yummy. Hash browns r so crunchy, mushroom tastes fresh. Strongly recommended if you go there and have a day trip.
S. K.
We had the pancake stack and salmon benedict with juice and flatwhite. food were incredible! taste was without a doubt amazing and they were also pretty to look at. However, there were many people and limited seating, and I had to sqeeze in some seat in the middle of the shop. Plus some of the crews were rude and sensitive but I guess they just had too many people to deal with. other than the service from some of the crews it was the best experience I had in Hobart!
L. B.
Great food and coffee in the morning. I had the pancakes and a flat white, nice and groovy breakfast place but very popular. Nothing wrong to say with this place but would highly recommend getting in early.
G. D.
Went here for a brekkie during Tassie trip. The stairs to the 2nd floor is a bit tricky, but do sit here. Better view! Nice food and coffee too ♡
b. a.
Lovely , we had a quick breakfast there before running off to Mona, quick efficient and friendly service, beautiful, fresh ingredients, will be back
N. H.
Really great little Cafe located on the waterfront near Brooke St Pier and Salamanca. The food and coffee is highly recommended and at a reasonable price. Staff are mostly friendly but the atmosphere feels rushed. Great for people wanting to grab and go but I certainly will still give 5 stars ✨✨✨✨✨
Z. X. L.
The prices are comparable to other cafes in the area. It offers a variety of food and beverages. I had the salmon benedict and short macchiatio. Both of which were rather nice. From the cafe, there is a good view of the wharf but not so much of the bay (it is not by the waters after all).
The thing that truly stands out was the service provided. The staff were friendly and made you feel cared for.
S. Y.
Sat upstairs for a Saturday brunch with 2 families. Great service, delicious food. Scallop pie was delicious, and kid meal options were great too. Baby chinos are must haves. Fantastic location with great views.
S. R.
The only cafe I have ever been and made me a real hot coffee. Every place I have been I say " please extra super duper lava hot" but they only get me a little extra warm. But these guys know what does it mean for someone to enjoy a hot coffee. The coffee tasted very good too as well as a very delicious yummy orange almond cake.
H. E.
Long black had nice aroma and was strong enough to keep me awake throughout the day after long journey flight! Del Mare Pizza was so so so delicious with generous seafood. There was parking lot outside the cafe if travel by vehicle. 1st 15min free 😆
M. G.
Sensational cafe. The service is great and the food is amazing. I have eaten here a many of times and never been disappointed. One dine here and you will easily understand why it’s Tasmania’s best cafe for 2019. Seriously cannot wait until I’m back in Hobart to eat here again. The pancake stack is always my go to but check on the day as it is sometimes a different fruit on the stack. I have enjoyed the caramelised Banana and poached pear (shown in the photo).
K.
The staff were really nice. Plenty of places to sit. Both inside, outside and upstairs. They have a good breakfast menu. I went with the full breakfast which I struggled to finish the size was so big. The coffee was really good too. One of the few cafes open in Central Hobart early in the morning and well worth trying.
A. B.
Nice and charming staff, good food
Their pancake Sysco it's so well designed and chimes with nice set of condiments including maple syrup, blueberry jam, whipped cream and more :-)
The salmon egg was also tasty
J. M.
Great little breakfast and lunch spot in Hobart. Excellent food (although Machine Cafe nearby in Salamanca is slightly better in my view)
Slightly anxious/borderline rude lady that told off one of the other waitresses in front of us, then pushed past to get downstairs first. Ensuring quality control, but just a slight miss (but also entertaining!).
Notwithstanding, we’d definitely go here again. Convenient to the wharf, well priced and good portions.
A. A.
Looking for breakfast in easy walking distance of our accommodation. Great choice of breakfast options, good coffee and friendly staff. View over the docks is nice too.
L. P.
Great spot for breakfast, super friendly staff, nice coffee and the food we ordered was delicious!
J. S.
Food was very tasty, however, if you are going to serve meat items on a wooden board, you need to put some clean paper e.g. oven bake on top of the board. Microbes, bacteria love a bit of blood. Stick with an attractive plate, it's much safer.
M. G.
The food was fresh and delicious. Great views of the harbour and the service was top notch. We had an antipasto plate and shared a scallop pie. Would recommend to try this place if you are in Hobart!
M. L.
A good way to start the morning. Here in Hobart!
Bacon melt. With just the right amount of Avocado !!!
Coffee was hot. Not too hot to hold in hand. Cap-tastic
They have seating outside their entry. Indoor and upstairs seating also,
*Beware if you are not good with stairs their bathroom is upstairs!
Happy Thursday!!!
G. F.
Had a great all day breakfast here today "Robbie's Big Breakfast " absolutely worth the money for value
K. S.
Really good bacon, eggs, Sour dough brekky.
Fantastic coffee if you like it strong, I was really impressed with it!
A. P.
I had the pepperoni pizza here and absolutely loved it! A fluffy yet crunchy base, a good mix of toppings and a beautiful atmosphere. Wasn't too busy on a Saturday night either. My partner had the seafood pasta and although most of it was great, the prawns weren't fresh. Try the cherry pear cider, too - delicious!
J. J.
Stunning view of harbour in great location and cosy atmosphere.
Been here for breakfast myself and in a group being very accommodating.
Exceptional service with amazing menu, had the fruit salad with vanilla bean yoghurt very fresh and tasty.
Good coffee and must try when visiting Hobart!
T. G.
Very nice staff and amazing food!! We had the bacon open melt and the breakfast bruschetta, both of which were unique and delicious! The coffee was also great, the chai tea latte was probably the best we’ve ever had!
Come here and you won’t regret it!
K. P.
Dinner was spectacular! 8 of us and all different items off the menu, cooked to perfection. Staff very friendly ❤❤
M. R.
Great casual atmosphere for breakfast, upstairs views and an awesome Robbie's big breakfast.
Reasonably priced with friendly staff.
Thanks for my first Hobart Welcome Harbour Lights.
p. o.
The first experience was greeted with smiles. You feel welcomed and valued by the very friendly staff. The menu is a fair selection and the atmosphere welcoming. The noise level is very pleasant considering how popular the place is. The coffee was 10/10 and the eggs Benedict were delicious. Will definitely come again some day.
A. D.
Great place to have some Italian food and enjoy the views over the harbour with terrific friendly staff.
C. W.
Great little cafe for an excellent cup of coffee. And the eggs and salmon was also very good.
R. G.
This is a great authentic harbour side Cafe! Good coffee & great breakfast, opens early and that spiral stair case!
M. M.
Excellent food, service and location. Try and get a table by the window to watch the city and harbour go by.
K. B.
One of the best breakfasts we had in Tasmania.
The table had a mix of bacon melts, pancakes and breakfast bruschetta; they even made a sausage butty for one of the Brits in our party! All plates were clean at the end; not a crumb left!
The food was tasty, perfectly presented and reasonably priced. The staff were so friendly and accommodating. We will definitely return!
2. j.
Stopped by to try the famous scallop pie, a little expensive for what you get, was ok though, Staff said they do table service, waited 20 minutes outside ready to order while staff chatted
Staff could be more attentive
H. A.
Delicious breakfast and fantastic, quick, authentic service. The place was busy as well.
I had the bacon (perfectly cooked), tomatoes (beautifully roasted cherry tomatoes) scrambled eggs (another delicious treat).
This place knows food.
I’ll be back.
A must!
Love
H
B. A.
The food was good and the coffee even better. Slightly expensive but in a really nice location.
R. L.
Brilliant place. Fantastic staff and very tasty breakfast. Recommended and will be back.
B. H.
Good food and great service. Had a delicious Tasmanian scallop pie here for lunch. Located on the Hobart waterfront and close to the Brooke street pier for catching the MoNA ferry.
E. J.
A delightful bustling breakfast spot, I had the strawberry milkshake and the chef’s special pancake stack and was very pleased with my choices. The pancakes had a nice light texture and plenty of toppings to choose from and the milkshake was a good size. Would visit again
B. M.
Excellent service big breakfast was well presented and yum yum a very pleasurable experince thanks
H. A.
Delicious breakfast and fantastic, quick, authentic service. The place was busy as well. …

Lovely staff, lovely set-up, so much deliciousness. Highly recommend.
J. M.
great coffee and great food. parking is the only issue. but if you're staying nearby, great place for breakfast.
D. F.
2nd time in HOBART, 2nd time here.
Staff is amazingly friendly and they go above and beyond to help.
And
Wagyu Beef Burger is the best burger on the island. Second to none.
Cheers all
M. B.
Lovely spot for breakfast with great ambience, delightful staff and efficient meal service. Being a glutard I was a little disappointed that the Hollandaise sauce for the poached eggs is made with wheat flour, contrary to authentic Hollandaise. Made my brekky a bit bland...
S.
Lovely staff, lovely set-up, so much deliciousness. Highly recommend.
M.
Had a lovely dinner with a friend, our meal was excellent, the staff especially Lyn (Lilly) was so lovely. Friendly, happy and a beautiful smile. Nothing was too hard and she made sure we were happy.
Its a lovely little cafe and I can see why they are so popular and doing well.
I think it's going to be my favourite place.
Keep up the great work, your naturals.
P. L.
The Marino family are an institution in Hobart, from mum and dad running the old Concetta's and so Pompeo with his pizza until now with Robbie has easily the best Italian on the waterfront. The new streetscape.on Morrison makes for a truly delightful heartfelt tribute to true pioneers of the Hobart food scene.
A. F.
Lovely cafe right across from the water. We tried some alternative coffees and the affogato was spot on in a martini glass, but the ice coffee was a bit disappointing. Breakfast was nice but unremarkable, same with the service. I would come again as the sandwiches looked yummy and the dinner menu sounded delish too. I think I’m a bit spoilt being from Melbourne.
V. D. (.
Excellent service! The lady served us is Lianna (hope I spell it right), very attentive and kind.
View to the habour is amazing too! Highly recommend this place!
M. A.
We were finding a place for breakfast as it was almost 11a.m and Mures breakfast close at 10.30. So we went around waterfront to find another place that could provide with eggs, toast , pancakes like stuff for breakfast which almost seemed impossible at 11.15 a.m,, but there it was, with best sitting place so you can eat and enjoy watching the hustle bustle, with best breakfast that we could ask for. Loved it. Great experience.
A. G.
Wonderful little Cafe. We ate upstairs, going up the spiral stairs reminding me of my childhood and not for the faint hearted! The food was delicious and well presented! Staff were lovely and view was great from the window seats!
S. P.
We came into Hobart to find a cafe that we could have a late breakfast at, and came across this gem! Serving breakfast until 3pm was great! Menu had plenty of options. We had a big breakfast and the bacon Benedict- both were fantastic. Tasty coffee too! Staff were super friendly and attentive, and the food was well priced and came out quickly. Very happy we came across this little cafe, and will definitely be back.
s. s.
Amazing ! Road trip to Tassie , we ended up in Hobart On a Friday night , looking for a nice place to eat. Every where was fully booked, except this place !
What a gem ! Staff is so welcoming and smiling, very professional, talking about the food... excellent ! Everything tasted awesome , my partner had the chicken and salmon , Wich was tourific!
Thanks guys for making our late dinner amazing.
Will definitely recommend this place to any one who is traveling to Hobart.
J. M.
A fabulous place for a good lunch, delicious food, generous servings and a really good price. Child friendly and helpful friendly staff
J. F.
Quaint setting with a fantastic street appeal and roomy upstairs dining space.
Had a fantastic pizza, however the scallops in the calzone were questionable/would not recommend.
Waitress was rather abrasive.
J. D. G.
Good food and coffee. Really wonderful and welcoming staff! Great location.
H. L.
The food taste good, the coffee is tasye normal, the the environment and the view are great
C. F.
Tasty food, but coffee was burnt / curdled. The kitchen and barista should be aware that customers can hear the same service bell as wait staff and it was a really unpleasant dining experience because of the constant smashing of the bell... At times the kitchen hit the bell 9 times in a row to try and hurry the floor staff (who were clearly moving as fast as they could). Shame, because the building was cute and food tasty.
J. M.
Love this place. Always top food and service. Can sit right on the street where wharf history was made. Great ambience
M. P.
Amazing! Great location amazing service! Had a great breakfast while enjoying the view and nice relaxing music.
Y. Z.
Great breakfast. The egg benedict with Tasmanian smoked salmon is superb. Can also recommend dishes from the Lunch Menu! Coffee Game is also strong!
j. h.
I had a salmon Benedict with a side of bacon and a pot of gunpowder green,I could not fault the meal or service (served by Freya).
D. S.
Hot delicious breakfast. Right by the harbor. Great coffee.
j. r.
Staff great, location is a minute from salamanca.. The pizza was exceptional
B. P.
Amazing casual dining for breakfast or lunch! Great location on the harbor and the Bacon Benedict is amazing, eggs perfectly poached!
G. M.
Excellent meal (Papa's Lasagna), well located with good harbour views up the circular stairs.
K. L.
Seared scallops lunch menu is not to be missed! Service is excellent.
K. N.
It was an ok experience. Food was good. However staff were a little rude. We were placed up stairs, nice, but the windows were very sorry. Pancakes excellent though.
S. L.
Excellent service! Our server, Mark has got everything organized for us, making sure all our requests are met.
M. B.
Friendly staff, good breakfast choices and good coffee.
S. L.
Great Cafe, the food is delicious the service is brilliant & the staff are very friendly and welcoming. We'll definitely be back when we visit Hobart again.
E. H.
Seriously one of the best restaurants here in Hobart, variety of food options, serving breakfast to dinner, great value and huge portion. Most importantly the food are served with top-notch quality, I ordered the Wagyu Beef Burger and was so amazed with the first bite! Tried other burger chains in Hobart but none did better than them!!! A hidden gem everyone must try!
E. B.
We love this place! We come here every year when we’re down in Hobart for the yacht race. The food and coffee is always good, service is amazing and quick, even when they are busy. Two big thumbs up, will continue to be one of our favourite breakfast places.
A. C.
Went there for a coffee and dessert during the weekend. It was decent, but with such high reviews I was expecting slightly better quality. The coffee and tiramisu was a bit too small for the price in my opinion. I'll try the dinner out sometime as this might be what people are in favor for.
J. M.
great coffee and great food. parking is the only issue. but if you're staying nearby, great place for breakfast.
L. A.
The service is friendly, food is great. A little on the pricey side but that comes with the area. Definitely recommend.
D. W.
Good breakfast served by friendly girl.
R. M.
Very friendly and helpful staff, mostly crowded inside with the furniture being very close together - would recommend eating outside or upstairs. Husband had the curried scallop pie and I had the lasagna, both very nice. Loved the view of the pier from where we were sitting.
G. M.
Have been eating at HLC for over 15 years and visit for breakfast most work trips. Never has let me down with coffee or meals.
C. B.
Dropped in for a quick Sunday morning breakfast. The food and drinks were incredible and the staff very friendly. This place is a true gem, you won't be disappointed.
K. D.
Very busy! Staff were friendly. Ordered drinks but took a long time for our food order to be taken. Food was good and reasonably priced.
J. V.
First meal we had when we got to Hobart. It was delicious staff were super friendly. We sat outside with great views.
M. M.
Worth the wait. Our Prosciutto pizza was one of the best I've had in years. Really fresh ingredients and the crust is lovely.
J. O.
Ordered eggs on toast with avocado and a coffee for brunch. They had run out of ripe avocados but I can forgive them for that as it was a busy long weekend. The food cane out pretty fast despite that it was busy. The portion size was spot on and the eggs well poached. The wait staff were attentive and friendly. Overall a good spot on the harbour for a meal or coffee.
D. B.
Pretty decent cafe. Great location overlooking the docks. Food was nice and portions were quite solid. Coffee not bad. Chairs uncomfortable and tables small.
L. C.
Great breakfast, excellent coffee and wonderful service!
Had the Bacon Benedict, it was delicious!
Rob and his staff were fantastic... thank you all for helping to make our last day in Hobart so memorable!
G. J.
Wife and I dropped in for lunch a couple of days ago and were thoroughly impressed. A friendly greeting, a glass of wine, some lovely lasagne and the lemon meringue pie was delicious for dessert. All served with great gusto and a friendly smile as we watched the world go by.
J. M.
Brilliant lunch, the garlic pizza was amazing!!
A. B.
Really friendly service amongst a great atmosphere. Great food as well. We were lucky to get a window table which looked out to the wharf/night life. Was nervous about the spiral stairs but we made it down at the end of the night....phhheeew!! 😂
D. W.
Fantastic food, great service and quick. Exactly right for a Sunday morning breakfast. The Bacon Benedict was really nice.
It was busy this morning so may book ahead next time 🙂
A. K.
Good for brekkie, decent coffee and large serving sizes. Would recommend for a first stop before hitting the Salamanca Markets.
D. C.
Popped in for breakfast, we were promptly seated with good friendly service and quick too. A good, tasty breakfast!
L. F.
This cafe is located on the Hobart waterfront, central for a light meal or coffee and with a nice outlook should you have a window seat. Service was good but I was disappointed with my scallop pie. I would have preferred it to have been served with chips not to have these as a side order. The fries were good. The pie was not, not enough sauce and it would have been better looking if more golden. Not a very appealing presentation. Coffee was good. They also served the sparkling in cute little bottles.
L. H.
Great cafe for breakfast. Beautiful fresh fruit and yoghurt. Loved it. Super friendly staff
g.
Great little place, the almond cap was nice but the egg wrap could have used some veggies. It was very heavy.
L.
Loved this place! Coffee was fantastic (I got the mocha but my other three girlfriends got cappuccinos that they raved about!) so good had to go twice! Love the location. If you can sit upstairs try and grab a spot by the window to enjoy the amazing harbour view. Kinda spooky waiter on the 2nd floor but all good
K.
The food and service at Harbour Lights Cafe never disappoints. A menu of delicious food made with very fresh ingredients guarantees a good experience each and every time. We took friends from Sydney for a relaxed lunch and it was the perfect place to enjoy the Hobart waterfront after exploring Salamanca market.
N. R.
Had a plate of eggs and salmon. Was so good. The baby tomatoes - fresh and full of flavour, as was the salmon. I always have a really yummy experience here. And the waiting staff are genuinely friendly.
M. A.
I wish I had found this little gem earlier rather than on our second last day. They served a great cuppa and prepared our brunch to perfection. Meals are healthy and reasonably priced. It was so good we went back for a late afternoon tea.
Its the first place during our stay that our kids ate everything off their plates. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the atmosphere was just right. Highly recommend you visit whilst staying in Hobart ☕🍴
C. P.
One of the best scallop pies you are likely to taste. Great range on the menu and well priced. Lovely location and the staff are friendly and helpful
B. N.
Beautiful food and great fast service
T. H.
Literally the best food I've had, whisky that my fiance doesn't cringe to, and amazing people that go above and beyond
M. B.
Great customer service, great coffee and a great vegan bruschetta this morning. Couldn't fault a thing, pleasure stopping in. PS we enjoyed your singing along to the Christmas tunes playing 😁
A. G.
Great fast service, and delicious food! Reasonable price. Kids menu available. Downstairs and upstairs dining.
J. M.
Wonderful staff, great coffee. Didn't get a Chance to try anything off the menu, but their cabinet food was really great and the variety was also impressive. Will have to get back there for a breakfast.
A. M.
Really friendly staff and yummy food. However, more vegan options would have been great. I had the breakfast bruschetta, which probably could have been vegan without the mushrooms cooked in butter.
J. C.

A great little place with good coffee, food and awesome staff. Prices are good also. A must go too...
J. R.
Delightful restaurant and great service.
I. S.
I went to Harbour Lights to have a quicky coffee but my experience was outstanding! While I was waiting, I had a small chat with Nana the barista and she is very polite and has THE smile, plus her coffee was amazing. I will definitely come back for another one.
D. T.
Friendly staff. Tasty food. Reasonable pricing
K. H.
A lovely restaurant with a good menu, friendly, fast service and great food. Thanks team. Mediterranean pizza, add pepporini for the win! ;)
B. M.
Whilst visiting Hobart we had multiple breakfasts & an amazing dinner at this cafe/restaurant.
The breakfast options are varied and are all beautifully prepared & presented. Service is outstanding and all the staff were friendly & engaging. The food is that good that we purchased some of the pre packaged granola to take back to Sydney.
The dinner options are plentiful & you can be guaranteed to have a great Italian restaurant experience. We were lucky enough to get a window seat overlooking the harbour each time we ate there.
Owner Robbie Marino was on hand to make sure that all the clientele were happy with their meals and was very appreciative of any feedback. What a great restaurant, I only wish I could come back to Hobart soon to eat here again.
j. h.
Amazing! Best breakfast, best eggs and fantastic pancakes! No wonder the owner, Robbie has been here for 22 years. Highly recommend. In fact, it would be a shame to visit Hobart and not come here.
r. m.
Gorgeous baked goods. They made me a breakfast and coffee just the way I like it (gluten-free bread!), and others we're ordering gourmet salads. Beautiful location.
M.
I visited this place 18 months after my first visit and both the food and service was excellent on both occasions, it’s a great cafe/restaurant in Hobart.
a. p.
Good staff,very good coffee.
p. a.
Really nice breakfast and very friendly staff. Cup of tea was nice
S. H.
Nice ambience. Food absolutely excellent. Coffees were perfect both times we visited. Staff very personable 😊

Booked for a table of four on what turned out to be a very busy Friday night last week - welcome to the new Hobart! We were seated upstairs next to the window as we were on our last visit, and we thought we had struck gold once again. But then as we took a breath, we noticed the very long table at the side, which very quickly became a very noisy long table with inconsiderate guests shouting from one end to the other. We suffered for a short while, as we saw other small table guests doing also, but then it became literally painful to our ears. I eventually went downstairs and chatted to the front desk and waiting staff and after a few minutes, they had a solution. We were offered a table in their private dining room, upstairs but sufficiently protected form the noisy inconsiderates to allow the pain to dissipate; unhesitatingly we accepted the repositioning! This allowed the evening to be transformed from a disappointing disaster to a most enjoyable dining experience. We all would like to say a big thank you once again to the waiting staff for their dining transforming help. We just felt sorry that the private dining space was only large enough for our party of four, and very thankful, selfishly, that we had moved first. The meals we had were very tasty, well cooked and of a reasonable size, and did I say already, the service was wonderful. We look forward to returning.
M. R.
Delicious food and the best service!
M.
Best Cafe In Tasmania! Very nice old school Italian food and has some great customer service. Shout out to the owner, ripper bloke who always likes to have a joke around! Overall I highly recommend it.
:)
P. B.
Busy little cafe right on the waterfront with great staff and brilliant coffee. They also have the most awesome spiral staircase I've ever seen in a cafe!
A. M.
Cute spot right beside the waterfront in Hobart and a nice place to have breakfast after browsing Salamanca Market.
I had the pancakes and they were delicious; fluffy, light and with plenty of little extras to add fun and flavour to my breakfast. Coffee was good too. The place was really busy when we visited and staff were super lovely, if not a little over attentive; we were given our bill even before we decided to leave, haha - I'm putting this down to them just being super effecient but it did make us feel rushed and not want to order anything else.
T. P.
Good food, lovely staff. Impressed by the girl who carried four plates up that spiralling staircase!
S. P.
Great place for breakfast or lunch by the harbour in Hobart. Lovely atmosphere and the staff friendly. Should try the Scallop Pies!!
B. H.
Nice coffee with a brief waiting time (considering the length of the line). Had a chocolate walnut brownie take away which was very tasty. The brownie was generously sized, not overly sweet and had the perfect density and moistness.
The café itself looked busy and a little bit crowded and the prices seemed a little high in general but I felt that I got good value for what I had so my personal experience (take away) is the basis of my rating.
S. G.
Love this cafe. Great food, friendly service. Brilliant place to have breakfast.
J.
Outstanding cafe. The good was delicious and the service was just great. Would highly recommend.
K. S.
Delicious breakfast food but small menu. Easy service, not much to complain about, thanks!
J. S.
A great little cafe, a wide range of delicious foods available. Inside, upstairs and outside dining. Great location on Hobart’s waterfront, easy walk from town, great views. Friendly staff... nice!
M. H.
Great spot on the waterfront in Hobart, offering a great range of classic brekky/brunch fare. The service was good if a bit slow, however it was quite a busy day on a long weekend so reasonably understandable. My partner ordered the brekky bruschetta, which was quite tasty, and I got the big brekky. Pricing was good for what we had, and the coffees were good too. The letdown for us was the sheer amount of noise when busy, and one of my hash browns was cold in the middle. I've had much bigger big brekkies but I've also paid more for smaller ones, so all in all, 4/5
R. M.
Amazing customer service great food extremely fast food sat down for 2 minutes and food was already done would definitely recommend
S. S.
Fast service with a smile and the food is great.
M. C.
Good standard fare made with fresh high quality ingredients and served by warm, friendly staff make this one of my favourite places for breakfast in old Hobart on a crisp Winter's morning. The food warms the tummy and the soul.
M. N.
Really cute cafe in a great location in Hobart. Service and food were good. Would be amazing to sit upstairs in winter and watch the weather roll in while enjoying hot food and coffee.
A. B.
The food was absolutely lovely and the staff are very friendly. If one manages to get an upstairs window seat (which we did), the views across the glistening Hobart waterfront are very charming.
J. L.
Nice coffee and my breakfast panini was great. Enthusiastic staff.
D. A.
Food is tasty, the place can accommodate a lot of people. I love their pancakes!
The food takes a bit of time to arrive, maybe from the amount of people eating.
A. N.
Friendly service, great menu options. Came here to try the scallop pie after reading the reviews. It has a strong curry flavor with about 4-5 small scallops.
A. L.
Great location with very friendly and accommodating staff. Menu will suit most and the kitchen is quick making this a great lunch spot and ideal for an impromptu dinner if your passing by.
Great value and recommend.
G. S.
Good food and coffee. Very friendly service. Indoor and outdoor seating, nice view.
H. W.
Good Cafe. Good location. Got a good toastie and coffee for 12$. Good selection of sandwiches in display. Good morning sun.
E. S.
Very mediocre. Save your money. We only went here as we have a baby and it was right by our apartment.
Veal was about an inch think, pasta was bland and over cooked. The waitress had little idea how to make an ($18) negroni. If you don’t know how- don’t offer it!
Garlic bread was delicious though.
And the sandwich cabinet had pre-wrapped food in it- assumedly for tomorrow’s service.
D. B.
Delicious meal and amazing coffee. Best coffee I've tasted in a long time.
Z. S.
so nice brlunch here. Friendly staffs.
J. B.
Great view. Excellent food.
M. J.
Reading the reviews I had high expectations. It is ok for a quick bite and if you like a pie heated up in a microwave.
N. B.
Very good coffee and our meals were delicious. We ordered bacon Benedict and salmon Benedict. The salmon was as soft and beautiful as the poached eggs. Very satisfied with our meals and coffees.
T. L.
We had a quick dinner here on Sat night, the staff were very friendly and helpful, the food was amazing. Such a cool and nice place to eat
P. B.
I have eaten in this establishment more than once.
On both occasions I and my friends have been excited about the menu.
The reason why, is because of the discription of the food involved, create one's appetite to enjoy the meal.
Good portions. Delicious meals.
Great staff, very attentive.
A welcome change.
Wonderful place for a meal.
Aaaaaaa+++++++++

Not many places you can buy tooling in Adelaide and this is probably the best. The salesmanship is variable ranging from grumpy middle aged man to very helpful lady. But whoever you get they know their product and can make sensible suggestions. They have used machinery and tooling too unfortunately for the hobbyist the smaller sizes of equipment fly out the door.
N. B.
We ordered the Bacon Benedict and the Bacon Melt- food was delicious, the place was full and everything came out in a timely manner. Great location and the service was also nice.
L. E.
Highly recommend the affogato! Wonderful service.
R. B.
A great breakfast. Good friendly service. If in Hobart must have breakfast here
G. K.
Wow! This is a gem. In the much destroyed in my opinion coffee era with the very loud music, rude stuff and hipsterish flavours, it is nice to see a place that has an old school feeling and taste. In combination with the classy music that nostalgicly reminds you of the Hollywood golden era along with a waterfront views, this place has to be one of the most unique I have been in a while. Extra plus to the uplifting and polite stuff. Recommended!
A. P.
This cafe is all about location. And friendly service. Pick a table upstairs and gaze out at the waterfront. The coffee and food are just ok, but you always receive attentive service here and that means a great deal!
L. T.
Fantastic coffee, good service great food perfectly cooked and delicious. Won't recommend it because then everyone will go there and l won't get in. LOL .
D. B.
Great food friendly people, very popular make sure you get there early.
A. H.
Lovely food, lovely service! The inner decor is really nice, and the place has a good atmosphere. I made a request for a specific table when booking and they gave it to us, all in all a great restaurant.
D. H.
$5 large extra skinny flat white, extra Hot.
S. P.
Had breakfast was really nice the view was great. Service was also a standout. Little bit pricey but it's worth paying if you want quality
J. G.

G. M.
Excellent food, great service, very friendly and accommodating staff
M. L. S.
A range of fine and flavoursome breakfasts, prepared surprisingly quickly!
A. B.
Quick service, pleasant atmosphere, hardly any basil in my pizza however. If you're a basil fan it may pay to request extra.
f. f.
Friendly staff.
Foods OK but well over priced.
Better places to eat in this area
J.
Great views, close to everything, excellent staff and great food. We enjoyed our late breakfast of pancakes and bruschetta and the waitress was very friendly.

Best cafe in Tasmania (that I could find). After spending just over a week in Tasmania this was by far the best coffee and breakfast I came across. House roasted coffee blend was sensational!
A. J.
Love the best.. great service
B. 2.
Great food and views across the pier. Friendly staff. Coffee a bit overpriced - $7.50 for a regular iced latte.
J. V.
Great place for coffee and breakfast. Friendly staff and food is delicious. Had big breakfast
D. E.
Not bad, but not amazing. Definitely not the best cafe in Tasmania as advertised, but worth checking out for a decent brekkie feed in a nice location
W. T.
Good breakfast, coffee, and lovely staff.
A. P.
The food was amazing and the staff are so friendly. There is a nice view upstairs but it can be tricky to get a window seat, we were fortunate that we were able to move to one
朱.
Nice place, and have a good view of the pier. The meals are delicious. I like the design of stair. It’s a good place for brunch.
A. L.
Good food, although it was a bit rough being charged 50cents to have butter with my toast, after all I had ordered a full Salmon and eggs breakfast, surely butter should be included.
J. S.
Excellent service from the young man. Very professional and welcoming. However we felt the poor guy had too much work although he managed well with a smile. Need additional staff to help but the place is great and yummy food.
P. H.

K. T.
Best eggs benedict in all of Hobart! Best breakfast bruschetta in all of Hobart! Best coffee in Hobart! Get into it! Tasty food and great service. Can’t get enough of it.
B. M.
Food's good though a touch light on size for the price. Coffee here is good, service was friendly but slow. Big delay on 1/3 mains, all the same.
B. W.
Very nice place to grab coffee and something to nosh on. Had a great business meeting here and loved the views of passer-bys, the water, and activity in the area. A great meeting place!
