Good fluffy scones and diverse tea selection. Bit pricey especially asking an extra $3 for an extra plate and fork. But the owners seem wholesome and the tea set makes you feel just a little bit fancy

Just a lovely place to have a lovely cuppa. Beautiful surrounds.A lot of thought has gone into planning.China ware is all class.Let down by 1 ply napkins and a $3 charge on extra plate (washing up ,sanitising was the explanation) I thought this was number 1 in all food outlets and has been for years. If you want customers on seats the a suggestion would be remove it. I will try a 2nd time but my friends were agitated by the rule.A shame this is all they have talked about since leaving it.

Just before you pick a cake (I chose the baked apple cake) take some time to read about the teas and their background. The high tea is crispy, delicious, and calming. If they had clotted cream to go with the freshly baked scones, I would have been in another heaven. The pu er tea is superb.

Lovely little tea room nestled on a busy street. Its run by a lovely husband and wife team to create a wonderful quiet space. They blend most of the teas on site to create the perfect teas while Ron experiments with new scone recipes. They use all Tasmanian produce to create their menu which was fantastic. The scones were very light and fluffy, teamed up with home made jams, it was delightful. The finger sandwiches were very substantial and filling. The teas themselves were expertly blended, but the French Earl Grey was a little light for my taste. Fully recommend! Thanks Lilli and Ron for welcoming us to Hobart.

Had my first High Tea ever here last Saturday and was most impressed. The owners were very friendly, service great, food and tea delicious. Good range to choose from and they have the best scones! I'd recommend them and go back again. I like it's also a small family business so not crowded or loud.

We have been to Hobart town tea rooms twice since they opened. The tea was fabulous. The best authentic Chinese green tea, such as Ri Zhao Green tea and jasmine loose leaf tea we had in town. The exquisite tea sets and the old photos of Hobart make us feel relaxed and warm. We enjoyed the traditional scones which melted in the mouth immediately. The Macha and Date scones are a must try, very flavoursome and healthy and just spot on! Highly recommended when you are having a stroll around in the city. Good location and easy to find out. Give it a go! You won't be disappointed!

Really friendly staff. Their high tea is really affordable and filling! So much delicious food and you get to tailor it to your tastes. You choose your sandwich filling, type of cake and pot of tea. Gorgeous crockery, extensive gift shop, lovely history and atmosphere. So welcoming!

Only place I know of that does a delightful pot of tea. Wonderful selection of homemade cakes and toasted fingers there are my absolute favourite. For a light lunch in a delightful atmosphere this place is my first choice.

My husband and I had high tea and it was wonderful. The owners are super friendly and approachable. The whole experience is excellent, you get to pick your own type of tea each, the tea pot they'll use for your tea and a cake all as a part of the high tea. Very reasonably priced and a peaceful way to spend the afternoon.
