Absolutely lovely experience. Had so much fun at the cat cafe, I also recommend going online and booking in advance as the school holiday day I went it was quite busy. While you wait for entrance, you get to be surrounded by all the amazing cat merchandise you could want and the reception cats!!! Once you get in, the cats and kittens!!! The cats all seemed happy, healthy and very well cared. My time here was incredibly relaxing. I think it's important to remember that the cats are still cats, they'll do as they please and want attention when they demand it and will otherwise ignore you. Will definitely visit again and for longer next time.

The kids and I loved patting the beautiful and friendly cats. Loved the different spaces with upstairs and downstairs to explore. Lovely old bluestone building and lots of pretty things in the store. The only challenge was the size of the entrance trying to handle the changeover from one time slot to the next. Too many people in a tight space...wait outside instead perhaps.

What an amazing time spent with fluffy fur babies! Lovely welcoming atmosphere and two floors beautifully decorated. Staff are friendly and place is cosy with beautiful cats and kittens. We really enjoyed our time there and would definitely come back! This cat café is worth of visiting.
B.
This place is very relaxing and is great therapy. You can just sit around patting cats. Getting the bundle that includes treats is possibly the best option, as the cats love it and will come cuddle up to you.

For cat lovers, this is THE most wonderful experience in Melbourne. Split over 2 levels, the staff were great and all of the cats were wonderful. We will be back at least once!
A. A.
First Time gone loved downstairs good lighting downstairs darker n cosy..Cat of all sorts they were eager for treats think a bit hungry...hoping when closed they had a good feed..Gift shop too.Nice they had a window view too while walking around..
S. t. B.
Great concept for cat lovers. The cats here are more friendly than our cat at home! 😳 they are chilled, some have they favourite spots and are happy to be patted. They can bite & fight each other as well.
Covid safety plan is followed, we checked in, sanitised and had to read the rules of entry.
We brought the hourly pass with a drink and cookie plus we brought treats for the cats.
A must visit, awesome location on Guildford Lane we will definitely be back!

Well cared for cats - each with their own personalities: ones that come for a snack the leave, kittens sleeping the whole time, ones that play with the snacks, are competitive for snacks... Went on a Saturday afternoon with a booking (the last session available). The drinks were alright but the main attraction are the cats after all. There's a quiet lower level and brighter upper level - access is to both and cats move freely between.
Would say getting cat treats are essential - may be difficult to get the cats' attention otherwise!

Such a great little cafe! If you love cats I can’t recommend this place enough! Beautiful, well cared for cats of many colours and breeds; cosy atmosphere and lots to look at and do. Coffee & muffin were delicious too! Loved it.
I. M.
It was THE best cat Cafe I've been to. Friendly staff, absolutely adorable cats! Plenty of space to be amongst the felines, spread over two levels. Definitely recommend a visit!
L. S.
Excited to go based on what others had said, not going to lie I was left a little disappointed. Perhaps maybe due to the fact that I had never been to a cat Cafe before but I actually thought it was going to be a Cafe where you could eat and have the pleasantness of the beautiful cats around you....sadly not the case.
We purchased a ticket which included a drink, I got iced chocolate, it was literally chocolate milk with ice in it.
The place was so cramed with people I felt for the poor cats, which you could tell were completely used to it.
The cats were completely food motivated and if you did not have any food the cats wouldnt come near you.
Overall the staff were friendly and the cats were beautiful but I wouldn't do it again.
R. S.
Overall an interesting experience. As a cat owner I understand the nature of cats, they can be antisocial especially after hours of human interaction. Some of the cats were aggressive towards us when we tried to pat them. I assume by 2pm they had enough? The cats seemed hungry and eager to eat the cat food we received on entry. It was very cold, especially upstairs. Being cold made the experience unpleasant because I couldn’t really relax. My kids had a great time. An hour is definitely enough (we booked 1.5hrs).
C. S. H.
The entry ticket's cheap and worth every cent , its like a cat therapy, the cats and kittens are healthy and very well cared. An hour just goes too quick, there's also an option to buy cat treats for just 2 bucks. Great value for money!
C.
Nice cosy place where you get to pet and spend time with cats. There are many and they are so cute, worth the money, it was $12 when I went but may be changed by now. They have a cute menu with selection of drinks and small cakes and many opportunities to take photos. Highly recommend to give this place a visit if you're in Melbourne and you love cats and animals!
C. N.
Amazing experience! Such lovely, playful and well looked-after cats! Very friendly staff!
K. J.
I've been to this cat cafe a few times before. But, I went yesterday and some of the cats were a lot more aggressive than usual. One cat with longer fur actually had some matted fur, it makes me wonder how often they brush their cats?
I. P.
I've been here many times and I am always impressed by the venue & it's lovely cats.
They do their best with the rules but sometimes you get loud children & adults that are frustrating to be around. For that reason it's best that you attend on a weekday outside of school holidays :))
N. T.
really enjoyed our time at the cat cafe! 1 hour was perfect to visit both levels and spend quality time with our fav kitties ! Definitely recommend, very peaceful environment
A. K.
Look, we love that place! But the cats seemed way too hungry. They have bitten us and scratched us, because they were fighting for the treats. I was actually scared of two cats. We did have the 11am booking, so maybe come in later… when cats will be full and not as hangry.
R. S.
Undoubtedly, this cafe is a cat-paradise. We spent an hour with the 21 cute residents. It was simply fantastic. Definitely recommend the experience to all the 🐈 lovers.
B. C.
This Cat Cafe is awesome. There is a good mix of kitten and adult cats. Some friendly and some grumpy. All the cats are awesome though. There is a downstairs and an upstairs section. Highly recommend going for as long as you can and getting the option with a drink and cat treats. The cats will love you for it. I would say choosing when and what time you go will be crucial to getting a kid free experience. Honestly was so much fun.
F. G.
Loved it! Amazing atmosphere and most importantly cats are beautiful and very well looked after, all staff were friendly, and work very hard. will be back with the rest of the family!
P. B.
Absolutely love this place! The staff are so lovely, the prices for sessions and treats are super affordable. All the cats are gorgeous and very sweet. Will definitely come back again!
B. J.
The staff are efficient, the cat rooms are clean and well maintained. The cats are absolutely lovely, and they go crazy for the cat paste you can purchase. My wife and I had the absolute best thing there.
H. S.
Always a treat to come here. The cats are very well looked after and the premises is kept clean. The Cat Cafe Melbourne is a relaxing and enjoyable weekend visit for all ages.
C. S.
cheap price ($15 for 1 hour and a drink). bi-storey cat cafe with so many cute cats to hang out with. free cat toys to lure cats to you 👌🏻can purchase cat themed gifts on the entry level. would recommend this place to cat lovers in melbourne
S. L.
Great morning at the cat cafe. They have some very cute kittens at the moment. Good amount of people there so not overcrowded, nice seating and clean environment. Delicious cookies too.
C. C.
Visited today with my 8 year old daughter. We spent an hour but could have easily spent 2. The rooms are spacious and well laid out with the cats happiness in mind. All the cats and kittens are very well cared for and are relaxed and happy. Lots of places for them to escape people if they want to. We would definitely go back if we were in the city again.
S. A. D.
What a beautiful place! It is our second time here and everything was perfect. Cats are well taken care of and very friendly. 🐈 ♡
P. M.
Nice little place to spend some time with cats, $12 for 1 hour.
We were disappointed by the number of cats, way too more people than cats and a the 3/4 asleep.. so most of the time you just don’t know what to do, and you’re alone so it’s boring.
We chose an end-of-day session, the cats didn't even want to be approached anymore ..
P. P. C.
Fantastic cat cafe! The coffee is high quality, and there's a wide range of cat breeds to eat. Personally, I found the British Shorthair to be very juicy and tender, with hairy undertones.
O. H.
So awesome! Cats are super friendly and staff are nice. Drinks and food are delicious and the entire building is very cool. If you don't find cats AMAZING, you might find spending an hour here a bit boring, but for animal lovers and kids alike, this place is heaven on earth, prices are worth it for the food and entry, I recommend getting the entry with drink, or entry with drink and brownie.
P. C.
Stumbled along the very cute Cat Cafe while walking around the lane ways of Melbourne. I only went into the reception area to have a quick look at the kitties sleeping in the window bear the doorway. The little room was packed with some very cool cat inspired products for both humans and cats.

Overall a pretty good experience, friendly staff, cute cats. The food/drinks provided were about as good as you would pull together from your pantry, which is fine if you just want a light refreshment, but not great if you were expecting a full cafe service. The atmosphere also felt slightly off at times, not super inviting maybe? in the top room. The lighting was a little cold, and they played commercial radio in the top room that slightly bothered me, but that’s purely personal, and most people probably wouldn’t mind!
C. M.
Loved cat cafe!! I'm taking my friend next time!! 20+ cats all different!! Wanted to cuddle them all!! Great space set over two levels, cool place to hang even if you're not a cat person!!
R. H.
The cafe is really clean and quiet and there are so many cats to go see who are super keen for a treat. I got so many cuddles and pats in. There's a lot of space so patrons can adequately space out. The cafe itself is in a cute laneway.
The coffee drinks are also tasty and everything is reasonably priced. It's $15 for an hour and $2 for a packet of treats. Bring cash. There's a $10 min on card.
If you're looking to take home cool toys and treats for your own cat, they have tons in the lobby.
M. A.
The place is really nice and have 2 floors. The first floor is cozy and top floor is airy and big. I went there last month in the morning seeking therapeutic time with these lovely cats. Prices are fair and staff is friendly.
L. S.
Had a lovely morning with my family today, very relaxing and comfortable atmosphere. The cats all really happy, content and super friendly. Love that you can interact with the cats if they're awake. There's loads of them. The ideal place for cat lovers. It's so nice to see just how well the cats are looked after and loved😊
M. H.
This place is a cat lover's wonderland. You get to play with a bunch of cute, friendly cats in well decorated rooms filled with some of the coolest cat toys I've ever seen. The cats seem happy, healthy and well adjusted. It's clear the staff pay a great deal of attention to the needs of each individual cat. The cat areas are amazingly clean, especially for a place with over a dozen cats. The food and drink options are a bit limited, but that's not the point of the place. You'll probably be too distracted by the delightful cats to be too bothered about that. It has become one of my favourite Melbourne attractions.
J.
The Cat Cafe is located in 30 Guildford Ln, in the centre of Melbourne. The cafe is shop as well, all related with cats. From keychains until sleepers with cat thematic. They charge you different fees depending if you want a drink, drink and cake or nothing. You can pay just to be there during one hour with the cats ($12), or you can pay to be with the cats and order a drink (14$) and drink and a cake ($16), prices approximately. Space is good with a lot of kittens running and sleeping around, all of them so friendly. Place no smelly and happy and catty decoration. Funny to spend the time with the little lion king's 🦁! 100% recomendable
M. S.
If you like cats I definitely recommend going to this cafe, there’s tons of cute and adorable cats to cuddle and play with.
L. B.
Gorgeous kitties of all shapes and sizes to cuddle while you drink your tea. A lovely atmosphere
A. D.
This place was great a bit hard to find the place since its in a ally way. Cats were adorable and I think we picked a good time to come because most of the cats were out and about. 1:00pm 2:00pm is i great time if u want to visit.
Cats were well looked after except for one that had a sore eye and another cat that had a scratch on his nose that im pretty sure has already been treated which is fine.
Very friendly cats they do get abit egresive with the food lol make sure to hold the Sashay at there level because they may snach it from u. Food was great i had a muffin and a iced chocolate which was awesome.
m. n.
Cute cats and great coffee.. some of the younger cats are up for adoption apparently
Like $15 for entry with an ok coffee and treats for the cats are just a gold coin or two.. good way to get rid of excess coins in ur pocket. My recommendation is to get ur coffee first then buy cat food so u can drink in peace otherwise cats will literally climb on u while u drink
Downsides was it was a bit stuffy and warm and dont think the AC was on at any point, and sometimes the rescues (mostly the kittens im gueesing) do accidents. However the human bathroom in this cafe is the cleanest cafe bathroom ive seen around.
I bought some merch too. They are pricey but considering the labor hosting cats , a vet,a coffee machine and everything it doesnt bother me.
A lot of the rescues happen to be kittens, the ones that are full grown cats are the honorary staff members at the reception.
Also dont know how some reviewers have the audacity to complain, cats arent golden retrievers, $15 isnt that much for what u are getting, especially with $22 eggs on toasts being the norm in the city

My local cat related gift store, they sell catnip that guarantees reactions from your cat. Cool lapel pins and cat socks! Anything that screams cat and did I mention plenty of cats to play with.
C. S.
My session at the cafe lasted an hour and cost $18, with a hot drink and muffin included. It was late in the afternoon and most of the cats didn't want to interact much anymore. It might be better to go earlier in the day, or if you are serious about adopting one of the cats. However, there were lots of comfortable seats available and the chai latte and choc chip muffin were good. One or two of the little cats might want you to share it with them though 🙂 It's also advisable to book ahead.

For cat lovers like us we really enjoyed our time hanging out with so many cats!! This is our second visit and we enjoy it more each time, this time we went on a rainy Friday afternoon and the cats were napping. Lucky for us they did not mind a few pats!
R. M.
So many pretty cats and kittens, a nice quiet place to relax and have a coffee whilst patting many cats! Be careful with the food though, they go crazy for it
A. M.
Came here with my partner and his mother and as we entered we instantly fell in love with this place. Friendly staff and cat receptionist:) comfortable seating, quick service, and most importantly a team of adorable cats! Entry fee is very cheap and coffee and cookies offered very delicious, we are so happy these go directly towards the welfare of the cats as they are all very well looked after obviously. What an amazing venue! They also do cats adoption for free, we will definitely go back to support them, highly recommend to everyone:)
L. S.
I had the best time here today! Each kitty has their own backstory and showed much affection. They looked relaxed and have lots of space to wander around. The cafe is well-kept with lots of quirky cat themed things around. Drinks were also up to standards. Highly recommend if you love cats!!!
T. K.
Such a nice vibe, take a seat, paws and relax. Make sure you get the chicken scallop paste and you will be swarmed by all the cats - literal cat crack

Wonderful place to enjoy our kitty friends.

I have only good things to say about this establishment. What a terrific business! I enjoyed my first today, and I will be back. It is a wonderful and affordable to spend an hour. The many in residence (all shelter kitties) are colourful in many ways. The kittens are a special treat. Do yourself a favour and purchase a package that includes treats. (You can also buy them separately once there.) You’ll be very popular. The atmosphere is welcoming and very comfortable. Drinks and human nibbles are available. The staff are friendly and come around often to pet and look after the cats, which often breaks the ice for those who are a little unsure about what to expect from the experience. I’ll definitely be back.
T. P.
Such a chilled vibe, friendly staff & kitties ♡ milkshakes are good too!
J. T.
If you love cats, this is the best thing you'll ever do. Get the treats too, yes the cats just love you for the food but it's worth it to be smothered by fur
L. N.
Absolutely loved this place. The cats were amazing with great characters around and we had been chosen by two cats sitting on our laps:) very nice setup with lots of places to sit and chill out. The staff were wonderful and its very clear how much they think of the cats in their care. They also offered a good selection of drinks, delicious coffee and milkshakes with a very reasonable price. Definitely worth a trip and we'll look forward to taking friends there.
T. C.
A cute place to go if you need a furry friend to play with (if they let you that is) and if you're not highly allergic to cats! Cat Cafe is quite clean inside, and with your visit you can get a drink and/or have cat treats (kibbles) to feed them. That being said, the cats are quite well trained/ friendly, are in good body condition (not overly fat, which is a good thing) and will let you pet them! Some of them have ties on, which is very cute. The venue itself is nicely maintained which gives me a nice homey welcoming vibe. Would recommend on a date as well if its what you fancy!
B. B.
It was ok. The cats are gorgeous.

Loved it! Amazing atmosphere and most importantly cats are beautiful and very well looked after, all staff were friendly, and work very hard. will be back with the rest of the family!

Had a great time at The Cat Cafe. Plenty of cats to pat and play with. Quite a few different breeds of cats to look at. Two floors so plenty of space to explore. Coffee was great and cookies for the kids was a good touch. An hour is probably the right amount of time to be here. Would definitely recommend.
O. H.

A very nice place to visit if you appreciate the quiet simple things in life, and you like cats. The café element of the experience is 1-star, but seeing my group with the animals, it made everything worthwhile. I expect if you see this Cat Cafe as a healing place, you will enjoy your visit.
S.
Friendly staff members. Two areas of where you can play with the cats. It’s wonderful to see the cats are from rescue homes, and their stories on the wall. Enjoyed our visit here. Would recommend to any animal lovers.
R. B.
Great place! The cats are all gorgeous and it's just a lovely place to sit and relax as well.
C. S. (.
I absolutely loved this place. Nice workers, great drinks, and of course, amazing cats. I would highly recommend booking a visit if you would like to go here, because walk in's are only welcome if there are spots available.
F. H.
It was an unique experience for me. Cats are very friendly. Only thing I didn't like was the smell on the ground floor. I felt a bit suffocated. I didn't think the place was well ventilated. The second floor was much more spacious . Staff are very helpful and friendly.
My daughter lived the hot chocolate and the cookie.
A. F.
Lovely calm activity well suited to older children, teens, and adults. Beautiful saunter through a 2 storey cat paradise with a wide range of cuddly, playful, and more characterful cats. All cats are well cared for and although some were a bit shy or wanted some space, all were friendly and non aggressive.
K. M.
Very good. Friendly staff and gorgeous cats. Nice large upstairs and downstairs areas to interact with the shiny kitties, took a friend for a birthday and had their 'cat happy meal' deal which covered entry a milkshake a piece of cake and a free small gift when we left.
My only issue with this place is the seemingly useless online booking page on the website, was not able to book and pay online due to errors in the functionality of the form page, but when I rang the cafe they wrote down my booking and I paid when we arrived.
A. S.
Lovely staff and a nice, spacious environment for the cats. Contrasts favourably with the London cat cafe, which I found cramped and a lot claustrophobic by comparison. Small groups admitted at a time probably makes it better for the cats, too.
Only major gripe for me was the policy of allowing children as visitors. Although under-8s are not allowed, there were several kids that appeared to be around this age or not much older, and it was clear that they were not suitable guests - a few (though perfectly well behaved) were engaging in over enthusiastic behaviour that was obviously stressing out the cats. I think the owners should give some thought to not admitting children of any age as this would make it a friendlier place for the feline residents.
S.
I went to the cafe by myself and had the best time playing with the little kittens and chilling with the older sleepy cats. The staff are very friendly and the other patrons were all chill cat lovers. You have to go!
G. P.
Awesome experience and quite affordable for people on budget.
J.
Great place to spend the day in Melbourne. Came here with my sister and two other friends. Great place to just sit down and enjoy the cats. The hairless cat was our favourite! Felt like peach fuzz haha. Its not a sit down cafe kind of thing its more carrying your drinks around which I didn't mind. 100% recommend this place for all ages.
L. R.
Great place! Such adorable chill cats. Would definitely go back.
A. A. E.
Clean, friendly staff and the most amazing kitties ever. We loved it and could have stayed literally all day and next time we just might. Highly recommend
W. E.
Very warm and welcoming staff. Lots of toys to play with the cats. Have been twice and most likely will be back again. The only downside was that the hot chocolates we ordered were very bland tasting and not very hot, but that's not why you come here.
S. W.
I surprised my boy friend with a trip here. We loved our visit, really relaxing and the kitties were so chilled. The ones we saw were so gorgeous and it was fun watching them! Cat heaven is the only way to describe it, would 100% recommend to anyone who's a cat lover, will definitely visit again!
R. J.
Not a full cafe. Expect to be able to eat a slice and have a coffee. Cute but don't expect to have cats crawling all over you. Quite calm but still a nice experience.
A. D.
This is the cutest cafe ! We got a coffee with cat treats and within moments of going in we were surrounded by the most loving cats. You can pat them, hang out or simply watch. Plenty of spots to sit and the best gift shop if you own a cat yourself. Will be visiting again!
A. W.
Serves are huge. Really huge but still superb flavour and quality ingredients. The chef is obviously a talent. Coffee was also spot on. It's not cheap but it is worth it for what you are served.
Lovely homely ambience and service was fast to boot. I couldn't fault the experience and will make it my business to be back.
S. H.
Went to the cat cafe today and I had the most wonderful experience there. The cats are so cute and wonderful there as well as the staff and I even got to buy treats there to feed the cats. Best part is when the cats either walk towards me or jumped onto my lap when they saw that I had treats.
I give this cafe a 10/10 and I would most likely come back there again in the near future.
V. S.
I have visited the cafe two times now and I just love it. The atmosphere is very relaxed and calm, perfect for the cats but also for someone that wants to wind down. The "cafe" portion is great, simple options persisting of beverages and a few sweets which is appropriate for the environment. They make great coffees, I have tried their mocha and their long black. One of the times we went it was wheatgrass feeding time and it was great getting the opportunity to feed some of the cats that loved the stuff. All the cats have their own personality, some sassier than others, some shy. And of course, as cats love to do, a lot of them might be asleep when you come around.l, but that's ok. Being around them when I don't have any cats if my own is fulfilling.
C. M.
Loved it. Staff are very friendly, drinks are good and cats are adorable. There are also plenty of cats to go around so you don't get left out. Will go again
N. R.
Very clean and cosy cat cafe. Nice iced latte, i really like it 💖 The cats are well cared, fluffy and cuteeee 😍 Friendly staff 👍🏻 For me, the price is affordable for every package. Will definitely come again next time 😊
G. B.
Little tricky to find parking as there's no allocated parking but that's melbourne, side streets with paid parking around.
If you like cats you'll like this place. More of a place to see and play with cats then a cafe. Coffee was okay they only did small muffins and stuff when we went there the place. Over all great experience but more cats then cafe.
J.
The cats were all super friendly, beautiful, happy and healthy. Nova was my favourite! Volunteers running the cafe were also lovely. I had an iced tea which was nice and refreshing. Thank you for a wonderful afternoon!
N.
Very chill, special and calming environment for a great price. You could spend years there and never feel like it was too much time. Definitely recommend getting some treats for the cats, and a great coffee. 💙
M. !.
A cat cafe with an amazing atmosphere tucked away in a little secluded alleyway. One of the best places to visit in melbourne!!! Staff is incredibly friendly, theres great food, really good prices, and most importantly, there’s ADORABLE CATS everywhere!!!! We loved our time here , cinnamon was the one that especially caught our eye (i wish we could’ve taken her home with us😋🤣). Absolutely must visit if you’re around or if you love cats 🐱
A. T. A.
Convinced to adopt a cat now. Excellent staff, food, drinks and of course, kitties. It's not too similar to the Japanese kind, if that's what you were expecting. Take that for what you will.
L. N.
It's a great place to visit there's so many cat's I thought that there was only a few but I was so wrong

What heaven must be. 21 friendly cats. The place is clean and looked after. I left with little to no cat fur on me! Would definitely visit again!

Amazing place, visit if you love cats!
B. S.
The facility is designed so well for the cats! They have so much room and wide open space, lots of hideouts and places to jump so they don’t feel too overwhelmed by people. The coffee and muffins were really great and overall I think a good value for what we paid!

This place is great. I had my first visit yesterday but I'll definitely be coming back.
The staff were lovely and the cats were so cute and cuddly and boi do they like their kitty treats! =^_^=

Nice atmosphere, great group experience, mostly friendly cats, kind staff.

Fluffy cats. Some were very playful but didn’t get a chance to play with all of them cause they were busy being cats.I enjoyed it.

Downstairs space quiet and relaxing. Upstairs more seating, window views, toys, and cat biographies on walls. Variety of cat personalities, most are friendly. Overall fantastic.

This is such a magical and wonderful place that truly brings me joy. All of the cats are so amazing to be around and it was an amazing experience that I will never forget. The facilities were top notch and the cafe experience was great. The cats were so cute and I would recommend this place to any feline loving friend

I love it!! The cats are adorable and don't mind affection. The only thing I'd say to be careful about is sometimes there are younger children who scream or try to pick the cats up and that can make them quite scared for a short while. Otherwise, everything is wonderful
t. p.
Very therapeutic hour in the company of friendly feline friends. The treats were appreciated
p. j.
Anytime ready to visit this place and play with the adorable kitties and cats , I am so glad Melbourne has a cat cafe unlike other cities !!!
N. R.
Great, surreal, experience with so many cats.
Me and my family enjoyed it.
A bit expensive, but its a double storey space in the CBD. Their rent, plus medical expenses for the cats would be very high.
Staff are not that friendly but neither rude.
Coffee was meh, but you don't go there for the coffee.
M. V.
Amazing experience. Best cat cafe in the world!
Z. F.
Literally the best place to ever exist
K. K.
as a cat person who doesn’t have a cat, this cat cafe is heaven to me. favourite place in melbourne with no doubt
S. B.
My girls loved the cats! The only thing I didnt like that beside you pay the entry fee, they make a lot of profit on catfood.
T. P.
Such a chilled vibe, friendly staff & kitties ♡ milkshakes are good too!
T. K.
We had a great time with lots of kitties. We were greeted by friendly staffs and very cute reception cats when we checked in. Both of our kids ( 8&10) really enjoyed their time with cats. Good coffee and milkshake were included in the ticket. Most of cats are rescues, very well looked after and loved and the place is spotlessly clean, no smells, the staffs must put lots of effort well done! Such a great concept will recommend to others about it. Whole family loved it, thank you.
R. S.
1 hour was way too less with these beauties ❤️
Loved this place❤️
B. C. (.
I like the goods in their shop and the lovely cat waiter very much
t. f. s. c. a. f.
The cafe is awesome. If you love cats that is the place for you to go and some cats even have a bow tie. You can give them treats and there are toys for you to play with them. You can even stroke the cats and buy things rom the shop.
J. S.
The cats are very cute, especially the cute fluffy white cat named Christmas ❤. We didn't have the chance to visit to the ground floor cats since we didn't know 😅. Will come back for sure
J. C.
We went there at a 2pm booking, had a nice chilled session the staff is friendly, some cats were playful and some were just sleepy, their hot chocolate is pretty good. I just wish they had more cats. 😸
L. K.
Super cute cats and kittens. Get your ticks online and be on time 👍
J. G.
Really cool place for cat lovers!! Had a great afternoon.
An hour is plenty of time to enjoy a nice cuppa amongst the kitties 😍
A. “. L.
Very nice and quiet. Perfect environment to just chill and hang out with cute animals
F. V.
Took my 10year old daughter here for an hour. She was in absolute Heaven! The cats were gorgeous and the coffee wasn't bad either!
M.
Lovely and relaxing atmosphere. All the cats are very well trained, and friendly. Would definitely recommend this place for any cat lovers.
M. A.
Great place, friendly and professional staff and excellent value for money.
I took my daughter who has been asking for weeks, and was skeptical about the place and experience. However, I am glad that I took her. We went in the afternoon as suggested by the cafe to ensure seeing active cats / kittens. They were very active and interactive. The staff would also ensure that kittens and cats are entertained so the visitors can enjoy and see those.
It is a two floor place with few cats and few kittens. We found kittens were more curious than cats and were playful with the toys.
Overall, it waa great experience and my kid loved it.
My younger daughter is 7 years and unfortunately she cannot experience it. I personally feel that kids 6+ years are generally careful with pets and the cafe should reconsider the minimum age. This way they may get more visitors and more kids will have a great experience.
S.
Awesome cafe and delicious food. The cats are also really cute and adorable there's also a great gift shop. I would definitely recommend going there.
G. M.
Very chilled out place, good staff, friendly cats, awsome location!!
S. Y.
Love the cats!
C. M.
A great place for a light snack, while visiting the wonderful cats. A great set up they have for the cats.
B. M.
Great experience. The food was a bit underwhelming but still tasty with a coffee but the cats made up for it with their cuteness
J. C.
It was lovely to mingle and pat the cats while having a cuppa and muffin
A. W.
Loved it. Unfortunately I can't have a cat at home as the two dogs killed my last cat. This is a really nice place for me, great place to chill and get your cat fix.
R. K.
The Cat Café was a fantastic experience! If you're an animal lover, then you must visit here.
R. B.
Absolutely loved it. Best time had. Cats so happy and healthy.
E. W.
Delightful concept and very well run with the comfort and happiness of the cats as top priority. I've been a few times and it's never too crowded - booking recommended to guarantee entry, but walk ins welcome if it's not busy. A lovely space over two levels with sleepy cats and playful kittens all over. Very relaxing and good for the soul 😊 Decent coffee and friendly staff too!
M. G.
Cat Cafe Melbourne was a surprising good experience, very relaxing to sit down and just enjoy the cats. Be warned if you do get the cat treats you will be the cats best friend. It's not a bad way to spend a hour or so in the afternoon if you need to just relax.
H. t.
This is different but good fun if you're a cat lover
You will enjoy this
C. P.
I am admittedly a cat lover so it doesn't really take much to make me happy.
The idea of having an HR to chill with some cats appeals to me so whilst in the city unexpectedly over weekend we decided to do in and see if we could get a booking!
The cats are obviously well looked after and are very relaxed, maybe too relaxed as they we mostly asleep during my time there.
Drink were ok, brownie was yummy. Being that this isn't a specialized place for coffee and rather a place to hang out with cats I was happy with the service.
If you just want to pat a cat and sip a coffee/place to relax when in the city you won't be unhappy.
K.
I have been here before and perhaps it was entirely too new but now that my crazy cat lady tendencies required me to visit all the kittehs, oh gosh my heart was full. It’s just a beautiful space. Lots of places to sit for humans and observe or sit on the floor to play with the cats. I feel like this is my ‘chicken soup for the cat lady soul’ when I’m feeling low.
S.
Omg this place is so cute! Super friendly staff too
E. S.
Great place to visit calming atmosphere can have a coffee and pat the cats
A. S.
KITTIES! KITTIES EVERYWHERE! Cute, cuddly and fluffy. Also very cute cat merch both for you and your fluffy friend
C. H.
Cute cats for a cute cafe. Loved it, reasonably priced.
A. C.
Heaven on earth!!! So many beautiful kitties to hang out and play with - and yummy treats from the cafe itself too :)
b. a.
Great place with great kitties. Kitties just roam around and do what they want, it's amazing.
F. S.
Come here if you are cat lover
Without forgetting to mention they have good brownie
C. W.
Meow town is cool. It's a hidden gem for cat lovers, the staff are really friendly and all the cats are unique in their own funny way. Such a great concept and place to spend and hour or two amongst the feeline friendly! The coffee and snack were nice too.
R. G.
Go for the experience. The cats were mostly sleeping. Would have liked to have seen unusual breeds. They are all rescues which was wonderful to note. You can have a cuppa upstairs or read downstairs. Kids under 8 not allowed and you need to book online.
T. C.
Definitely a must see for cat lovers.
We were welcomed by staff who clearly enjoyed their job.
I wouldn't say it was a warm welcome, but I didn't feel put out.
I assume the staff member was trying to stress the importance of following the rules, and making sure you weren't a jerk to the cats.
The room downstairs was vacant when we went in, only one cat having a snooze, but upstairs was great.
The cats were fairly active, some wanted pats, some wanted to stare at you and silently judge.
The beverages we got were quite nice and it was nice when we got our order to attract a bit more attention from the cats.
Overall it was a great experience.
S. L.
This is more of a cat adoption place than a cafe. If you're planning on going, I would recommend making a reservation online first. If you don't, you will run the risk of not being able to enter. The cats seem happy and relaxed.
T. R.
I love this place! I’ve been to numerous cat cafes in japan and Korea but melbournes was the best by far! Having controlled entries ensures the cats are not overly smooched. The atmosphere is fantastic and the cats can easily go out of sight. They also have great coffee, well worth the $15!
S. W.
Cats clearly well looked after which is great. Had Coffee with a friend and chat, two of the Cats came over to us to say hi. It wasn't a high energy event but fun to chill out with mostly sleeping cats. Before we knew it our time was up and we were asked to leave. The place was almost empty and we would have been happy to order another coffee or snacks to stay a little longer. Kinda left a sour note to the otherwise enjoyable experience.
N. A. (.
The cats are really cute, I do have a few issues though the staff need to be more active the sign says you can hold the cats (which I wanted To do) if the staff sya it's okay but there was 1 staff who was at reception and no staff upstairs to ask.
Also my iced chocolate was not very good, and my friends latte tasted funny.
A. G. (.
Came here with a friend of mine and bought the entry tickets (60 min stay) booked at 2PM and was totally worth our time! A range of felines to sit, pet and play around with. As our booking time was right after their lunch and nap time, some were sleeping but were not bothered with being petted. It was not busy as we thought it would be, so that was good.
The location was a perfect, quiet area and no noise pollution. The interior was nice and cozy with a great ambience.
As for the staff, they were really nice and told us some traits and info on the cats!
Will sure come again!!
L. t. t.
Their new location is wonderful!! Such friendly and adorable cats who are surprisingly patient. Good coffee and as always, a warm vibe coming from all staff. There were also many games and books to entertain anyone not that into cats. Overall, it was a perfect trip and we will definitely be back in the near future! Thank you.
S. G.
I really enjoyed spending time patting the cats, especially Clara and Jasper. It was a lovely and peaceful place to be around the cats for an hour. Be sure to come in the morning because they are more playful and alert at this time of the day. I loved being around the cats. The staff were very friendly, helpful and knowlegeable about the cats. I would highly recommend this cafe, especially a must do if you are a cat person visiting Melbourne.
i. N.
Cute cuddly furry friends galore!!! Friendly staff. One hour went by so quickly!
P. P.
The Cat Cafe is easy enough to find and it's spread across two levels. Drinks and snacks are served from upstairs. The venue does have a toilet but isn't accessible. There are stairs and the doors are narrow. Most of the cats were asleep for most of our hour although some were perky and many would pay attention for a photo. I think if you're cat starved then give the place a go. The coffee was ok, the muffin was nice. I think go earlier in the day than we did so the cats aren't tired out.
M. M.
Wonderful place to enjoy our kitty friends.
A.
Love the Cat Cafe! The pricing ($12) is very reasonable, as well as the fact that you can get your 9th visit free using the stamp cards offered at the front desk. Beautiful location and atmosphere. The cats all seem happy and relaxed, and the staff are obviously knowledgeable and treat them well. Would definitely recommend!
N. T.
Great place if you like cats. Treats are a must if you want some good one-on-one time because they're a little spoiled for choice, though.
J. B.
Its amazing at this cafe is in the middle of the busy heart Melbourne City. The ambience of the place pampers the cat residents of the cafe. If your a cat lover i would recommend this love cafe. they also serve coffees and teas which a major bonus to the vibe of the place.
A. L.
Pretty good experience at the cat cafe. There were quite a number a cats so it wasn't too hard to find a cat that wasn't already being pet. Although depending on the personality of the cat it may be more sociable or it may prefer to just be sleeping. The cat cafe itself is furnished quite nicely and actually like a cafe unlike some other animal cafes I've been to, it's got a very cosy and calm aesthetic, plenty of places to relax and take nice pictures of the cats. The atmosphere is also very cosy and warm feeling. The split between the two floors is pretty cool and I personally find the way the cats accesses the two floors pretty creative.
The staff are also very friendly and warm. We were also given cat grass to feed the cats. This was pretty cool, because the cats were suddenly much more interested in me for a few fleeting seconds.
Overall, my experience was pretty positive, only downside was that the cats didn't really care much for me, so I didn't get much attention from the cats and honestly they just kept running away from me. But that can't be helped it's just the personality of the cats.
F.
The atmopshere is very calming and nice, and it really is a unique experience to drink coffee and eat sweets with cats all around you. The cats are reasonably friendly, and they are very cute. I also thought the fondant cat face on the brownie was a cute touch. I (almost) didn't want to eat it!
L. F.
Very relaxed atmosphere and friendly Staff members. Cats pretty much ignore the customers but that's typical of cats. They're cute, fun to watch and will let you pat them gently if they're sitting.
J. M.
Literally amazing! The cats are kind and so beautiful and its decently priced for the experience! Would go again!
J. R.
The time was good the cats move around freely and as long as you respect them and their space (the rules) they do warm up to you being there. I enjoyed the coffee and biscuit, the cafe prices are reasonable. Very quiet peaceful and relaxing.
N.
Delivered on its premise. The cafe has two levels but the design is a bit awkward. Would have been nice if the cat toys and relaxation areas were more curated. The process of ordering coffee was very sloppy, with only takeaway cups available, and staff disappearing into other rooms. The cats were beautiful, albeit sleepy. Going one time is enough.
S. T.
Unless you're a cat fanatic this place might not be fore you. It's motive is great, they take in rescues and give them a home and allow them to socialise as much as they want with visitors. Unfortuantely the cats aren't particularly playful with the guests.
Nothing wrong with the staff or the cats, but if you're going there with the intention to play with some cats or for the cafe vibe I'd give this place a hard miss.
It is wonderful to see how they treat the cats there and the staff seem very hard working to keep the cats comfortable and healthy.
M. U.
I have been to this cafe twice and I am very happy to recommend them to you all. The ambience is really good, decoration is also very attractive and the staff is also very friendly. They didn't take much time to deliver my order. Moreover, I even liked their coffee and food. It is not so costly either.
D. B.
My little girl was disappointed because most of the cats were sleeping and wouldn't play with her :-( She was excited to go to the Cat Cafe and had chosen to spend her birthday money to pay for the $12 entry fee. We chose the midday timeslot since the website advised that the cats would be more active during that time but unfortunately they weren't. One of the cats that was active tried to bite and scratch my daughter when she was only trying to gently pat it. For the safety of children I suggest that cats known to scratch or bite could be moved onto a good owner in the community. On a positive note, the cafe was beautiful and had lots of great cat sleeping areas and activities. My daughter did enjoy patting the cats whilst they were sleeping :-) The brownies were delicious. The food and drinks were reasonably priced. The gift shop had some really cute cat items :-)
J. T.
Lovely atmosphere, the place is beautifully and thoughtfully set up. We came the hour before feeding time so cats were quite impatient and cranky, but most are sweet-tempered and will let you pet them for a bit (there's just one you need to look out for named Lottie, a pretty and grumpy kitty).
F. K.
Cat therapy place!
A. M.
Incredibly adorable and worth every cent. I wish I could have stayed longer
S.
I read through some of the negative reviews and I wonder if I went to the same place as them. The reception was nice and the staff was friendly and the cats were well behaved if you were nice to them, meaning not being mean to them. While the food was lacking the drinks were nice and atmosphere amazing. I'll be going there again soon with my sister as well. I would recommend this to anyone who likes to be around cats 'mew'
M. F.
I have a new found love for cats after my partner convincing me to come here last week. I cannot wait to come back tomorrow! The cats are soo well looked after and all so peaceful!
L. F.
I couldn’t recommend the cat cafe highly enough!
My boyfriend surprised me with a trip to the Cat Cafe for my birthday and we had an absolute ball! The facilities were brilliant, staff were friendly and clearly were trusted by the cats and the cats themselves were healthy and happy.
We ended up absolutely besotted with this little boy cat who I think was called Chirp, he was very happy to sit in his bed whilst we laid on the floor and gently patted him whilst he purred and drifted off to sleep- we were so relaxed we almost went to sleep ourselves!
We will definitely be back as we had a wonderful time and the banana cat toy we purchased was such a hit with our two cats that we need to get a second one!
The cat cafe is a must visit for locals and tourists alike, it’s especially wonderful for international students to come and get their cat fix without having to make commitments.
I especially appreciated the no kids rule as far too often children are rough with animals and even well behaved children are not conducive to a relaxing environment.
I can’t wait to come and visit the kitties again, especially little Chirp!
E. B.
The staff were friendly. I only entered as people who I was with wanted to enter. Place looks clean. Smells like pee though, not surprising. Kind of strange to have a cafe with cats in. Was a bit of a weird experience. Great if you love cats lol
B. H.
It goes without saying that if you like cats, you'll really enjoy this place! Personally, I am more of a dog person but I'm never opposed to patting cute animals.
While I like to give everything a try at least once, I was a bit hesitant to come to the Cat Cafe. Mainly, I thought it might have a bit of an 'feline odour' to it and unsurprisingly, it did. This didn't entice me to want to hang around.
It's a pretty cheap thing to do and you can actually get hot drinks on the top floor. However, they served them in single-use cups. This may be for Food Safety because of the cats? But I think it could be done better.
I'd say that if you're curious and want to do something novel, this is a good place to drop in to but I wouldn't go out of my way to visit.
K. K.
I found the experience disappointing. All of the cats were patient and well mannered, but none of them actually wanted to be petted, and I can take no joy in forcing my company on a cat that wishes to be left alone. This was a 3 pm session, earlier in the day they may be more affectionate?
P. A.
I loved the experience with the cats. The cats were very friendly but slept most of the time I was there.
D. H.
Perfect place to be ignored by multiple cats simultaneously when you are away from home.
M. H.
All the cats are so cute, the staff is friendly and great pricing!
S. R.
It's a bit of a shame you can only stay for 1 hour but they seem to be quite busy. Remember to book in advance on their website, no walk ins - I was told. We went at the end of a Saturday, I think the cats had had enough loving by then but I still had one come and sit on my lap. No kids under 8 yrs.
M. M.
Absolutely amazing I own 4 cats but this is a must everytime we are in Melbourne.
The staff are friendly the cats are adorable make sure you book online if you do plan on going to make sure you can definitely get in as they book up very quickly
M.
Cheap entry and you can either walk around and admire/pet all the glorious cats or you can play a boardgame in the room with all the cats. Theres 2 levels and they have a little screen set up that is linked straight to shelter which shows cats available for adoption which it think is a great idea. They also have guest cats now and then. Theres also kittens!
R. H.
Very clean and fresh the only problem was access to the top floor. My wife unable to get up the stairs and hurt her hand on the stone wall while using the handrail. Might have gone elsewhere had I known how steep the stairs where. Most of the cats where upstairs so if you can't get up the stairs tends to spoil the experience.
Despite this downstairs was comfortable and enjoyed the interaction with the cats.
B. B.
It was ok. The cats are gorgeous.
M. B.
Beautiful cafe with tons of gorgeous cats. The coffee was good and it was really fun feeding the cats! The whole building is a cat playground, from the ground floor to the top floor ceiling. It's a really great place
Q. L.
So much fun! Really well thought out space, the cats clearly get lots of love. Have regularly visited since their original space on Franklin St. They do so much work with the local rescue community as well!
T. B.
Absolutely fantastic. The coffee was on the smaller side but excellent. What they lacked in coffee size they made up for with number of cats. An excellent way to spend an afternoon when you are not sure what else to do. Tons of fun and I can't wait to go back.
C. K.
Was very relaxing and calming time. Definatly coming back again soon
T. B.
It was a nice concept - but we arrived in the afternoon so all the cats seemed pretty fed up with attention and just wanted to rest. I had to summon all of my cat lady powers to get their attention but once I did I had about 5 or 6 cats all playing at once. Didn't bother with the food because it's not really cafe food. They also sell cat toys here pretty cheap so it's good to support a local business for cat toys instead of buying them from larger stores.
K. ..
Absolutely amazing place, love everything about it. Cats are so amazing there, and I hate when people are like ''cats don't play like dogs". For all those haters on this place about the cats go see dogs instead. I had a amazing time for my birthday stop over there. Great place and I also loved the Carmel chocalate I got. Just a beautiful and quite part in Melbourne worth checking out. I would guarantee this place if you really love cats!
C. B.
Great place. 15 lovely cats. It just wasn't really a cafe because of all the cats but it would've been a little nicer if there were more options. Overall, I went with 7 other girls and we all had fun.
M. S.
Great place to come and enjoy a relaxed hour in the presence of cats. The atmosphere is lovely. This is ideal for those who don't have cats at home. Both the staff and the cats are friendly. Food and drinks are available upstairs.
M. H.
First cat cafe in Melbourne.
First heard about this place from magazine. I think they started from kickstarter and just reading about the steps the owner go through to open one was inspirational.
The cats are cute and taken care of. The place is huge and clean. The complimentary drink in one of the package was nice too.
Me and my friends ended up hanging on the lower floor area. It was more quiet compared due to the large group hanging around the upstair area.
g. H.
Cats cats cats 🐈⬛ I miss them but they don’t miss me.
A. N.
Not exactly a cafe per se but I don't think anyone that comes to the cat cafe is after good food. It's all about the cats really isn't it?
Wife and I have been to a few cat cafes around the world and to tell the truth, this one isn't THAT bad. We've been to one in Madrid and Singapore and it's very similar to the Melbourne one where it's more about the cats and less about the cafe. Yes the nicer ones in Japan, Paris and London are more like a cafe that has cats roaming around them but I really didn't mind the way it was set up for the Melbourne one.
There's not much food or drinks served but I understand that's due to local regulations and I'm okay with that. There's a basic food and drinks menu that you can order from but don't expect quality items like how you get from the many awesome brunch locations around Melbourne.
The second storey of the cafe is where the magic happens and it's where the cats are housed in multiple rooms. There's lots of space for the cats and they're pampered with toys and scratching poles. Only a certain number of people are allowed per hour and that's great because I reckon it prevents the cats from getting overwhelmed by large crowds at any given time.
The cats look relaxed and well looked after and most of them seem to be fixated at the window overlooking the roundabout on the street.
We've been there twice and still love it. A cat cafe in our city in our very own backyard for all cat lovers. Can't complain!
M. T.
Not sure of it's value as a cafe. But the downstairs area is a pure therapy haven. Soft music, comfy couches, and plenty of cats to sit and pet. Rules are quite strict though, so be sure to follow them! Shame I could only stay an hour
E. r.
It was alright. I am a total cat lover but was a bit disappointed.
I have been to Cat Cafes in Japan and was expecting a little more I guess. Not half the cats on the website are there to see-most are hiding timidly behind a locked door due to the amount of people they let in.
This felt more like a "cat museum" than a "cat cafe"... You walk in and join the big crowd of people constantly walking around from room to room. You must push past and wait your turn for a pat or look at a feline exhibit. Not the relaxing cafe, interactive kitty cuddle experience I had in Japan!
Also was annoyed I had an appointment time booked and had to wait around for 10 mins.. this was time I PAID for. Was then rudely kicked out right on the dot when my session was over even though I missed out on 1/6 of the time.
**If you want to hug a million cats don't come here you may only get a pat or two... you should volunteer for giving some much needed love to cats at the pound =) Also that's free!***
L. G.
We love the cat cafe. Some of the negative reviews are ridiculous. Does anyone think about the cost to run that place? Prime city location, staff, food and vet bills? I don't think $12 is a big ask. And people wanting more cats? Are you serious. And the coffee/food? You go for the cats.
S.
Amazing cats are so cute and it's so peaceful 🙀
N. S.
Loads of options in the menu. Nice ambience. A small cozy place with good service. Location is also good with few seats having outside view of small garden. I personally liked the Italian cusine though coffee is not that super awesome.
A. N.
Can't believe some of these reviews. These are ANIMALS, not performing acts. Of course they should be allowed to sleep and be inactive/active whenever they like. So what if a cat on the day happens to be feeling anti social, go and pat another one who isn't. These are rescued cats who have a warm sheltered home and give affection and calmness on their OWN terms to people like me, who would like to pat a damn cat every now and then and try to feel some joy while so many horrible things are happening in this world. Fantastic place.
Z. r.
Absolutely wonderful experience! Just don't book the 2pm session as it's just after lunch and they are very sleepy!!! Loved the cats and they staff were very helpful. The brownies are very cute with pictures of cats on them. Definitely recommend!!!
S. B.
I had a wonderful visit to the Cat Cafe. It is so peaceful and serene, with beautiful cats happily napping, while others greet visitors. Friendly owners, lovely cuppa and a delicious cat shaped bikky, and lots of lovely, inexpensive souvenirs available. If you are a cat lover, I highly recommend a visit to the Cat Cafe 🐱
R. M.
I had a wonderful experience at the Melbourne Cat Cafe. We went on a Monday at 3:00 pm and we were the only ones there for the first 30 minutes. The cost was $10 for one hour and you must book ahead of time online, especially for weekends as the spots fill up. There are 15 cats living in the spacious upstairs rooms. They are really well taken care of and it is apparent that their livelihood is first priority. They have a ton of toys and scratching posts; there is also a lot of furniture for them to nap on and for guests to sit with them. It is limited to 15 guests at a time, so it is not enough people to really distress the cats. If the cats are tired or bothered they have a separate room to go off to if they need privacy. The staff gave us space, but made the rounds quite often to serve us coffee or answer any questions. There are also several security cameras around that the staff is monitoring downstairs in case anyone is harassing the cats.
I went to one other cat cafe in Montreal Canada and it was a totally different experience. That one was serving food and many more people were inside at a time. It was more like a cafe setting and experience. I loved both models but this one really allowed you to spend one on one time with the cats. I really bonded with Waldo, he was my favorite. He rolled right onto his back and let me scratch his belly. He is fairly young and super soft.
In response to others criticisms, due to some local regulations this is what they are able to offer with regards to a cafe and it works out fantastic imo. Maybe they don't have an extensive menu, but I grabbed a coffee and really had a wonderful time with the cats. The store front downstairs sells quality items and it was fun to browse through all the unique cat things.
Solid 5 stars! Reasonably priced and a fantastic experience, in fact I'll be going back again tomorrow!
M. M.
Lovely cats, fun times
A. K.
Spent an hour at Melbourne's cat Cafe. It has a population of rescue cats who wander and climb and sleep across two floors. The Cafe is located in one of Melbourne's historic lane ways, Guildford Lane, a protected space with potted plants large and small.
If you visit the cat's leave time to enjoy the streetscape ambience.
Negatives - most cats and the Cafe are up stairs, not handicapped-friendly, although they will provide a menu and service downstairs. There is only full-cream milk or soy milk.
M. M.
Nice, quiet place full of cats
K. B.
Just an Amazing concept. Great staff too.
B. L.
Superb experience for cat lovers
T. L. S.
It's a great place, has a booking limit and it's nice compared to the old place. The cats aren't always friendly but that's standard for cats. Nice staff and food, the one hour limit stops them from having a more complex menu tho.
H.
Great place to go hang out. Bookings were easy with lots of spaces available, at one point we had the whole upstairs house to ourselves, and the cats, of course! Would love to go there again, and with such cheap prices it's super easy to spend a little time chilling with the fury friends!
five stars for Cat Cafe Melbourne!
t. m.
Took my special needs brother there. He loved. Good range of food with tea and coffee lots of cats well looked after and obviously happy. Staff were friendly and happy with lots of answers for brother and overall a very quiet calming place. Well priced to top it off.
B.
Loved it, definitely recommend, it's awesome!!
Y. 1.
ugh... just perfect for cat lovers
staff are super friendly
and the cats are adorable <3

Walked past the outside and due to their great signage I confirmed that this was not the place for me. But if I was looking to lose a bet, or spend some quality time with the one domesticated animal in the world I dislike the most - I would probably head in here in a heartbeat. The greatest thing about the idea of a cat cafe in theory and practice, is the fact the cats are indoors and securely locked in and not out killing and eating protected Australian species as many of there feral counterparts do. I am happy to recommend this place to my cat loving friends but can rest assured in the knowledge that I will probably never get that feeling of someone else’s cat licking my head, scratching my leg or leaving cat hair all over my clothes in order to have ‘cat time’ and a coffee. Paul the Welshman is in full agreeance with me on the above statement and star rating (Just in case you were wondering).

I have a crippling fear of cats, I can not handle being near them.
I do not hate them nor want to hurt them, but a fear is a real fear. I went in asking for assistance to help me get close to cats to get over the fear for my girlfriend, as I don't want her to worry about having a cat near me when we are together since she loves them.
I went in and they allowed me to just keep to myself in a corner away from direct interaction with the cats. When a cat jumped onto the table near me and I freaked out quietly, the service was amazing in gently moving the cat away.
The cats are not hyper social but they appear to enjoy small touches and interaction with the crowd, they wander around and greet people and because they are calm and still friendly without being crazy, it was a good step towards no longer being scared of them.
The staff here are friendly, understanding and go out of their way to assist you with anything involving service and support.
Thank you guys, for getting me one step closer to being able to just get closer to my girlfriend and get over this fear. A truly relaxed environment, caring staff and cats that are calm and wandering around to everyone for a look and a rub.
I will be back here, because great places like this deserve love for looking after their cats so well and their clients just as much.
P.S. I was shaking so hard when I came downstairs to ask about touching the calmest cat they had, and the lady behind the counter took her time to show me the nicest, calmest one who would be perfect for me to touch to get over my fear. Thank you so much.
Update: 18/03/2019
Hey guys, just wanted to once again thank you. I am cool as a cucumber with cats now, and even can handle petting and having my girlfriend's cat chill on the back of my computer chair and come sit on my lap.
I really, really, appreciate what you did for me that day, and how much time and effort you took to help me overcome my fear. You are wondrous people and the work you do is definitely under-praised.
Enclosed is a pic of me and my wonderful girlfriend's cat, 'Bubba', who is an absolute legend. Hasn't even scratched me once in 5 months and is gentle with jumping and stuff.
Lots of love from Sydney, you guys are always on my mind! <3

I celebrated my Birthday October 26/2014 at cat cafe. LOVED it especially the cats..
I am an artist and I think the cafe needs ART and cat Prints....
Next visit I am coming with my sketch book to draw some of the darling kitties there.
Loved the cafe, loved the cats.
From Lilly..
Cat lady and mother to ALL cats. xxxxx

It was so relaxing to just sit and watch the lovely cats as they moved around the rooms. The cafe was clean and cosy and I enjoyed reading the posters describing all the cats.
S. S.
Spent nice time with cats and kittens!
V. W.
Awesome place! You can tell the workers really care about the cats and all of them were really kind little fur balls :) the set up was also really cool, the cats were just running around like mad and having fun!
T. C.
A really wonderful business with a great idea and really great people behind it. Not only did we have a great time when we visited, but we had a small issue with one of the bags we purchased there (no fault of the staff) -- we posted the broken part out to them and they sent us a replacement in the mail straight away. Do yourself a favour and head along if you're in Melbourne. Highly recommended (also you can pat cats).
R. L.
Dear Negative reviewers because cats weren't social,
I don't know why anyone would bother going to a cat café if they don't know and understand cats...
Cats are loved because they don't do what you want. In fact, they do what they want, when they want to. They will scratch you if they are angry, they will let you pet them if they like you, but they do not need to be anything for anyone.
Next time you think about going to a cat cafe ask yourselves this, am I going here because I think animals are here for my entertainment? Or am i here because I have a deep love and respect for what these creatures bring to the world? If you are going for entertainment, you're already there for the wrong reasons.
Cheers,
Someone who works with cats at a shelter.

Amazing little cafe with the added benefit of kitties. Lovely coffee and staff who were very accommodating and felt bad that I couldn't make it upstairs, because I was on crutches, so they offered our coffees for free. I will be coming again next time I'm in Melbourne 😁
K. S.
Loved the place. The 2 p.m. session was not the best timing as the cats had just been fed in the 1-2 p.m. break and thus just wanted to nap. I found it relaxing, but people who expected some playful felines were a little disappointed.
N. H.
Really great concept.
Cats are still cats at the end of the day. They have many play options, but cats are also stubborn.
Any cat lover would enjoy, personally didn't want to share the space with everyone else.
P. J.
Lovely cafe and friendly flurfriends :)
R. A.
Amazing place. Enjoy your coffee while admiring some great felines. Highly recommend.
T. M.
I'm not a cat person but it was fun. Lots of cats doing what cats do, lounging around, some playful, some grumpy. Friendly staff, interactive with customers, quirky gift shop. Loved it.
A. B.
Food and drink options are limited but you're there for the cats!!! So many lovely kitties. I loved just watching them sleep. Great staff too.
S. T.
This place is amazing! My cat passed away on Tuesday, which has left me devastated and I really needed some cat time. The staff are lovely and the cats are of course, adorable! A must go see for all the cat lovers out there!
C. O.
Such a cool experience! Entry fee isn’t bad. Lots of merchandise to get as souvenirs. I’ve found the cats are more likely to hang out with you earlier in the day.
M. N.
Friendly staff and sleepy cats. Price is a little high per hour but the cats appear to be stress free and we'll looked after so I was happy to pay the entry fee. Will come again.
S. P.
Food is not bad but a tad expensive. Up side is the alfresco area is right beside a large lawn and pavement for kids to roam and scoot. Also, for a $6 cappuccino, there should at least be a cookie to go along. Well, was able to kill two birds with one stone here hence the 4 stars.
R. C.
Cat cafe was a great place to check out and have a coffee with the adopted cats
J. A.
Had a lovely time with friends, lying around chatting in the midday sunshine and letting the cats come to us! Unfortunately we couldn't eat much since we're all vegan (not even a carton of soy milk for a cuppa? In Melbourne?) but the merch was cute. Made for a nice afternoon anyway!
S. s. v.
My daughter's and their friends enjoyed
N. S.
Love the cute cats!!!! Walked in and we still got a slot in!
A. K.
I thought it was wonderful! I had a great time patting all the kitties and the food they served was tasty - nice biscuits and slices. I loved my time there, will definitely go again sometime.
A. M. a. k. a. I. M.
Love this place and the cats like to plays.
R. O.
Many cats to pat and play with. The cats there look well looked after and happy. Cafe there isn't really going to bowl you over but serve coffee and light snacks
V. A.
I never go to Cat Cafes for the coffee but for the cats. They are all healthy. They have a great home and their owners really take a good care of them. Well done!!!
A. M.
The best place on earth. Lovely staff, a beautiful array of super cute kitties. Amazing decor and environment.
M. D.
Our family went to Cat Cafe Melbourne today and had a lovely relaxing peaceful hour with all fur babies, staff are all very friendly and caring, we managed to find all the cats with some help 😊, nice coffee and snacks too, we will definitely come back visit again
A.
Many friendly cats, and a well maintained site! Will visit again!
A. M.
Great experience. We enjoyed playing with cats. You just have to pay for the ticket Wich cost 15 $ and the drink is included.
J. H.
The cafe was well laid out, the staff were friendly and helpful, and the cats looked like they were very happy and well looked after. A great way to spend an hour.
A. T.
Best place to visit if you are a cat lover. Cats are well cared for. Such a great place to relax!
M.
Staff are friendly and cats are cute. But crowded though, and the cats were not interested in us whatsoever, although I'm not sure if this is an isolated case.
R. G.
I Love the positives vibes that comes from this restaurant. Great staff and a good selection of biscuits with reasonable pricing. Beautiful setting and views. The cake was superb.
J. J.
It's about hanging out with cats, not coffee (literally opposite is one of thousands of cafes Melbourne has to offer!). Thoroughly enjoyed meeting the peaceful kitties especially with missing my cats at home.
K. T.
Cats were really adorable, some were more friendly than others. All the cats are rescues as well, they're doing amazing work!
A. S.
Place is wonderful, just notice you need to order drink in advance, and the cats are pretty much occupying themselves.
J. H.
The beautiful cats were very relaxed and serene when I visited which was so lovely to see. Heartwarming to know that these were all rescued from shelters and are now safe and loved. Thank you ♡
R. H.
A well thought out business. Spacious areas, three cats were very chilled out and the kids had a ball. Highly recommended.
T. W.
A nice place to meet and play with the kitties. No seperate area to sit and eat/drink away from the animals, so those who prefer to sit and watch may not find this as comfortable as they'd like.
S. M.
Adorable cats - decent coffee.
The cats are sweet and well looked after.
Coffee is nice, obviously due to health restrictions can't be too picky.
V. O.
It's something different to do and what a great idea to give these shelter animals a home. The idea behind the cafe is a lovely one. Well worth supporting such a place!
T. B.
Good for cat time, not really a cafe for food and drink as much as playing with cats but plenty.of cats to play with. Timing is helpful as closed from 1-2pm for feeding time.
H. B.
Awesome cats! Staff were friendly, tickers were reasonably priced and the set up was super cool. Would recommend.
M. V. (.
Extremely sweet staff and kitties are very well cared for. I've been bringing all my favourite people here for years now and have left immensely happier every time 😊😊😊
J. B.
Cute kitties, though most of them are quite indifferent to the constant visitors, be aware that they won't necessarily be all over you for affection.
Food is available such as coffee and cake, but options are limited.
A. B.
Great experience, the cats look very well loved & content. Coffee was a bit average for Melbourne, but really, I went for the cats & not the cafe.
V. K.
Nice place to relax and enjoy the company of cats. Food is reasonably priced and the cats are to die for... Such floof and much cute.
J. K.
Great place to visit if you love cats. Book or call in advance especially during weekends because they can be fully booked.
M. V.
The cats were all sleeping when I was here but they didn't mind if you sat down next to them and gave them a gentle pat. Very relaxing.
E. M.
Such kind staff and so many adorable kitties to play with while you have your coffee, such a good experience
A. S.
Had a great time here, but it can get really busy, it’s highly recommended to make a booking,
P. G.
Suggest you get an early session as the cats might be more playful. We went at 4 pm and not more than one or two active cats
L. W. A. G.
A very relaxing place for you to chill with a drink and cats, visited there at 3pm but unfortunately i only got to see the cats sleeping, maybe afternoon is not a good time
H. W. P.
Love the setting for the cats.
L. S.
Full of handsome cats of all shapes and sizes. And had good coffee.
A. C.
Great place for cat lovers and kids over the age 8. The cat residents all have their own personalities, enjoy a pat and play over coffee and cat themed biscuit.
T. W.
One of the best Cat Café we've visited!!! The cats are soooo cute and friendly, friendly staffs too!!! Definitely going back again!!!
D. H.
I love this place, I am such a massive cat person, although the food bit a pricey it is quiet nice to eat with the cats. I loved having a coffee with Sherlock (one of the cats)
A. Q.
An underrated cat cafe. A good choice if you want to eat and pet your cat.
G. S.
Great bright open space. The booking process seems a little bit restrictive though. Having to book days in advance to secure a spot leaves the option to 'drop in' at short notice impossible.
A. F.
A lovely place to interact with furry friends.
B. S.
If you love cats, you'll love this place, but its not cheap, the drinks are tiny and the food average at best.
A. M.
Went here in the morning and the cats were still energetic. Good place to relieve your stress. Will definitely come back.
A. J.
The cats are super cute and fun to play with!
R. J. H.
They are bar cats. So don't expect too much interaction, unless you treats.
A. W.
Loved it. Lots of gorgeous well-cared for cats. Nice coffee and the blueberry muffin was delicious
M. P.
its ok if you come for the cats, but most of the tme there sleepy. there is also a lot of people so that is that
T. E.
Beautiful cats, friendly staff and a delicious gluten-free brownie. Though the iced coffee was not the best.
S. f.
First time going, i was very impressed with the cats, prices, layout ovee two floors, friendly staff and giftshop. Will definetely return. Thanks for making my day!
A. P.
Cats were very cute and sleepy, staff seemed quite nice and accommodating. Definetly going back.
A. U.
Most of the cats were coiled up and sleeping the whole time. Loved it, nothing better than a hot coco and a purring cat.
A. A.
I absolutely loved the cat cafe. And cats were quite active and playful. I'm coming again for sure.
D. M.
A nice place to relax. Friendly staff and cats are well looked after. A variety of cats to pet.
S. S.
Soft cats fluffy cats

Extremely sweet staff and kitties are very well cared for. I've been bringing all my favourite people here for years now and have left immensely happier every time 😊😊😊
K. J.
Nice and cozy place. I go there quite regularly and the cats are usually pretty playful :)
Y. V.
Got bitten by a cat but I feel blessed :')
L. W. A. G.
A very relaxing place for you to chill with a drink and cats, visited there at 3pm but unfortunately i only got to see the cats sleeping, maybe afternoon is not a good time
D. M.
A nice place to relax. Friendly staff and cats are well looked after. A variety of cats to pet.
R. O.
Many cats to pat and play with. The cats there look well looked after and happy. Cafe there isn't really going to bowl you over but serve coffee and light snacks
S. T.
Unless you're a cat fanatic this place might not be fore you. It's motive is great, they take in rescues and give them a home and allow them to socialise as much as they want with visitors. Unfortuantely the cats aren't particularly playful …
T.
Awesome cats, 11/10 chonk bois
J. A.
Cats werent very interactive with public members, but positive environment! Friendly staff and lovely decor
J. P.
Not sure that I agree with their policy regarding why the cats are not allowed to be adopted out. Otherwise, it's a nice set up for the cats.
B. A.
Loved it!! Cats ahoy!!
C. C.
Loved the Cat cafe. Age limit for kids though should be over 13. Younger kids harrass the poor kitties.
J. F.
Really enjoyed my time here whilst visiting from Sydney. Staff really friendly. Would recommend visiting in the morning if you can get in :) love the range of merchandise for sale as well.
D. H.
It's honestly an amazing experience but you can't actually hold the cats or feed them for safety reasons of course.
7.
Cats! Such a nice place to visit cats. Very cosy and well designed. The cats are truly spoiled with lots of cat towers and look outs.
K. L.
Cute kitties and a relaxing place to take a break from the city.
T. Y.
Cats were adorable
T.
Chill and friendly 10/10 recomended. Cats are friendly and come up to you.
K. K.
I am in love with idea! Most amazing hour spent here 🤩❤
c. j.
The staff are wonderful and the cats are gorgeous. The hot chocolate wasn't bad either.
D. G.
Cats are not very friendly... But it's a nice and relaxing place overall
A. G.
Such a lovely experience coming here. Highly recommended for all cat lovers
G. B.
Worth a visit - have to say Adam was one of my favourites! Great idea to give rescue cats a second chance.
J. P.
Cat to human ratio should be better or less people allowed in. Need to have a more intimate/individual setting oprions with the cats.
L. P.
Cats were a little aloof, because they are cats.
Loved the lounge area. Really nice experience
E.
So many cats to play with. The $25 package that includes the cat treats is so worth, they'll come to you as soon as you open it
S. ..
If you love cats and just wanna spend time, go ahead. If you've grown up with cats, then no. Not the best experience.
B. M.
Beautiful & calm environment
T. f.
Oh, I love cat cafe! A haven from the busy CBD with super-friendly cats!
K. W.
Lovely to finally have the chance to experience this for myself. It would be great though to see some other breeds there too such as Devon rex, siamese, abyssinian
K.
The cats are lovely though the food was sub par. I wish the cafe part was as amazing as the cat part.
B. P.
A good environment with some very playful cats.
P. D.
Is by booking only..was a a bit disappointed by that. The person behind the counter there wasn't helpful at all..only telling us that without a booking we won't be getting in, but then didn't ask if we wanted to make a booking or even tried to tell us how to do it. Seemed like he didn't want to be there..which is a poor impression for FOH staff
M. T.
Lovely cats, let down was the cat pee smell, they need to clean that up and would be much more enjoyable.
E. O.
Unique experience in the heart of Melbourne allowing cat lovers the chance to play and hang out with four legged friends.
K. c.
Such a lovely way to spend an hour in the city! Beautiful Felines, super friendly staff and the yummiest snacks!
S. N.
Cute cats ! I think the place needs more seating but fantastic time
S. F.
Excellent place. Loved our visit. Cats seem well kept and looked after.
J. M.
NOT EVEN JOKING A TINY BIT. It is cooler than the other side of the pillow. Not much of a menue... Just lots of cats.
U. 2.
Best cat cafe in Melbourne at the moment. The cats are kinda passive but surely they have good services.
C. G.
Cute cats. Food was fine and coffee was good but nothing spectacular.
G. M.
Outstanding car cafe. I’ve been to many in quite a lot of countries around the world and this is probably the best. I’ll be back!
S. L.
Very relaxing. The cats and staff are friendly. And you're not obligated to purchase anything. 😄
S. R.
Cute cats to pat and play with .Rooms well set out with furniture and easy to move around and spend time with cats
S. B.
Love visiting every time I come to Melbourne. Friendly staff and cats are well cared for.
S. G.
The idea is great, but it needs to have more put into the cafe side of things. Something to hold people and make them want to come back again.
G. H.
Beautiful cats and wonderful experience. Well worth the price and great coffee!
J. W.
Wonderful atmosphere. Gorgeous cats. You must go there!
J.
Quirky experience that is great for cat lovers. Pleasant place with friendly staff.
A. T.
A loving home for the cats who seem to thrive on being with their Cat People.
S. A.
Great very peaceful and my grandsons loved all the attention from the cats
J. W.
Cat cafe is a beautiful place specially if you are stressed out.. really enjoyed there
N. P.
The cat is so cute and I like the atmosphere over there. Very cozy.
A. K.
Don't bother with the coffee etc. Just go for the cats! And don't be surprised if they're not all running around - they are cats after all, and like to sleep a lot.
M. D.
Niece loved it. Glad it exists, although once was enough. Some cool climbing areas for the cats.
B. C.
It's just perfect. Everything you could ever want, and the cats are so happy and healthy. I love it.
A. B.
Staff were nice, cafe aspect was good and the cats were adorable :)
r.
Loved it staff were friendly so we're the cats and the food was nice.
T.
Good idea but trip was ruined by loads of noisy kids scaring away the already scared cats.
U. V.
Quite cafe. Cats sleep during the afternoon.
J. F.
Cats are cute and playful. Also had a nice mocha while here
A. C.
Very cute! Love the kitties, they are very friendly!
