Nice little stop off, great hospitality, coffee and nosh. Loved the Vegan options.... food was great. So lovely. ❤

We were staying at Daylesford for a couple of days and decided to visit this place. The lady serving us was great, very friendly and attentive and made us feel right at home. The porch seating was good though the building exterior where the tables were next to, could use a bit of cleaning of spiders and webs. The food was simple, and clean but tasteless. Scones were great. All in all it was a good experience among quite a few disastrous ones in the area.

We were driving through Trentham and decided to stop at Chaplin's. A beautiful experience, I could've sat on the front porch all afternoon! The chai tea was absolutely delicious, served with maple on the side that I couldn't help eating off the spoon! Very friendly & calming atmosphere. Thank you!

Amazing, caring service. I went in today with a friend who is not double vaccinated yet, and rather than turning him away, the lovely lady brought menus out to us and said she would organise our orders to take away, and recommended we sit and eat in the lovely lake gardens nearby. She gave our dogs a couple of treats. There were some really good vegan options on the menu. We went halvies in the plant based BLT and the vegan toastie, both of which were absolutely delicious. I will definitely go again if I'm ever back in the area.

Our group of 10 arrived without a booking for lunch and the staff fitted us in and looked after us. The food was homemade and flavoursome. The thing that really disappointed us as a group was that we were only offered the dearer burger/pie menu. We only realised there was a toasty menu option when other customers were being served them.

Wow! Did not expect such great things from a little country cafe! The ladies here are amazing. Really great and friendly service, nice little quaint seating and real quirky. The food here is relatively standard but they put a bit of a twist on things. I had the “big brekky” but they served them with their own marinated red peppers. Wow. They were insanely tasty and amazing. Must try if you’re in the area.

I went here with my parents on the weekend, who are Trentham locals, and we loved it. They always talk about how good the coffee, the staff and the food is. They are yet to find a time when the place isn't busy. I can definitely see why. It's very much got that "local cafe" vibe do it. A bit of a hidden gem as it's at the end of the main street. It's not pretentious or posh. Good food and coffee done right in a warm, homely setting with blankets and wooden floorboards. A word of caution though: If you suffer from anxiety, stay away. The closeness of the tables and people passing was uncomfortable for me. This isn't a reason to take away any stars from my rating, as it's my personal problem, but I feel it's important to state.

Chaplin’s has the best food for the best prices in the area of trentham. Staff are super friendly and it has a really great vibe about it. Unpretentious with great coffee. Great little spot in the Main Street of Trentham. Very cosy feel with communal tables and super friendly service. We had the all day breakfast offerings and a soups of the day (chunky mushroom) and it was all great. Nothing fancy but just perfect on a cold and rainy day.

After an awful experience at Trentham General, across the road, where after more than an hour of waiting and chasing they still hadn’t delivered our breakfast (and then handled it poorly when we said to cancel it), we crossed the road to try Chaplins. Wow, what a wonderful experience and why didn’t we go there first? The cafe is really cute, the staff were lovely, the food was delivered promptly (we were starving by then) and, most importantly, it was great quality and good value.
