Clap Clap Clap. 👏🏾 Simply the best. Best staff. Super friendly. On top of all of ‘em, bloody beautiful food which taste amazing. Nice vibe. 5 starts don’t justify how good the place is. Will be going there, all the time when I’m in the neighbourhood. ❤️❤️❤️

If I could rate this place more than 5 stars I would. What a hidden gem! We came for some wine and a meat & cheese platter and everything was exceptional. The venue is gorgeous and has a great atmosphere, and the staff are absolutely lovely. My new favourite place in the area!

An absolute gem.
Decor - 5 stars - Classy decor
Cleanliness - 5 stars - Squeaky clean and
Ambience - 5 stars - absolutely well presented
Staff - 5 stars well presented.
Menu - 4 stars - not much out of the norm but sufficient
The wide selection of both wine and craft beer filled for depth in menu.
Service - 5 stars - Staff warm and friendly with good knowledge of menu (food and wine)
Had
Morrocan Lamb - 5 stars - Very good … would have liked the veggies slightly more tender
Garlic Prawn Gnocchi - 3.5 stars - ok but not smashing
With accessibility to a beautiful nature walk right opposite restaurant was the most alluring. Absolutely worth a wander
Overall rating - 4.5 Very very good - worth a drive.

Just reopened (again). The current team have it right from the get go. Local gem icon now updated. Lovely fit out. Open fire. Forest location. Great coffee by Isaac. Real food from a professional kitchen. Try the soup. Unlike so many others a real base, not disguised by salt, and a generous serve. Curated Wines to have in or take out. We so missed this local getaway. Well, it's back and it's better. Highly commended.

Best coffee in Kallista/Monbulk/sassafras! The cafe itself is charming with indoor and outdoor seating, and a very cool vibe. The owner is lovely and knowledgeable about the local area. A great location, next to lyrebird walking track. Definitely recommend!

Thankyou to Brett and the team for a lovely Mother's Day lunch. The environment is so warm and welcoming, the staff very friendly and accommodating with dietary requirements. Can't wait to come back

We had the most wonderful meal on Saturday night at Cork at Cooks Corner, the food was absolutely delicious and the service was so friendly and welcoming. We also sampled the wines which were divine, so much so we ended up buying some.
I'm so happy that Cork has opened up in our village in the hills, the location next to the forest is really special. Brett and Marrianne are such wonderful hosts, and their staff are all so friendly, service with a smile. The coffee is awesome too!

Very nice place and staff are friendly. We went in for afternoon tea while there was a group in. It was so noisy, mainly because it is a large area with timber floors and the noise just bounces around. Wasn't a relaxing way to end the weekend

Just had the most fantastic lunch. Recommend the lamb, prawns and fritters… can’t fault the place. Great coffee as well. Cakes to die for.

Love coming here to relax and read as I drink my coffee, and eat yet another pistachio amaretti. Fantastic, warm, and friendly staff too. Am happy to find a great local place in the hills.

This is a lovely place I feel during the daylight hours. Trust me at night 12am it's quite dark and no torch tripped over some native fallen branches hurt one shin badly and the not so bad. The guy who said he would show me the best places in the woods had a phone torch and didn't stop. Typical male so I call him to help me up he did help but••••. My sister Rose wanted to come but I had to tell her the truth he wanted my equipment not hers.

Lovely smashed avo and feta on toast for brekky. Generous and tasty, plus a nice coffee to go with it.
Smiles and great service from Brett and the team.

A little hidden gem in the forest. We have visited several times. both during and post lockdown. The coffee is sensational, warm friendly service and dog friendly too. I appear to have developed a bit of an addiction to the pistachio amaretti biscuits 😋

So many improvements from my 1st review. Really nice atmosphere, warm and inviting decor. What a change!
Staff pleasant and warm. A little slow with our food but hey, that gave us more time to relax and talk. Food was great, got what I asked for with a smile
A great selection of wines and gifts available too. Overall really liked it.
😃 bumped up ⭐' s from 3 to 5.
2 yrs ago: Cute little cafe in the hills Visited in July, on a cold wet day. Found it cold and uninviting. Fire not going which was a shame. Have they ever lit it? It would have been a great drawcard. The room needs some soft furnishings as the place echoed and became rather noisy with 15 people in it. My cake was stale. Having said that, the staff are delightful and nothing was too much trouble.

Odered some salmon blinis got salmon on toast cut in rounds. Did they really think I was not going to notice. When i meantioned it when paying they just giggled and said " oh yeah sorry didnt have any blinis left", when i mentioned "you could of told me" she just giggled again. Meanwhile the boss was sitting right behind me and didnt say anything. No discount! not impressed.
Thankyou for your acknowlegement, it goes a long way. I will add that apart from the blinis not being blinis, the food and atmosphere at Cork at Cooks Corner was very enjoyable.

Was a really nice place for breakfast however the menu was very limited and that was a bit disappointing. But learnt after it recently reopened. Staff was so nice and helpful. Seem like the place will go far. In a great peaceful location with great coffee.
Photo attached is the menu. Had egg and bacon burger was really nice and couldn't fault it.

Great value, beautiful food
Lovely atmosphere very friendly staff

Cooks corner has a great range of reasonably priced food and good service in one of the nicest spots in the Dandenongs. It seems to change hands reasonably often, but so far this hadn't hurt the experience of going there.

Came here on a spontaneous whim as we drove past. Apparently they've only been open 9 days. It is definitely worth a visit. Fantastic menu. We bought 3 different meals and they were all delicious. Staff are lovely. Ambience is clean and crisp with beautiful green trees to view through the many windows. We look forward to coming back again soon. Excellent job guys. Well done.

Reopened after so long with new owners. Hooray! This is one of the best locations in the hills bar none, as you can walk through the forest from Grant's picnic ground to get there and have a lovely lunch on the quiet edge of the forest. Extensive renovations have created a clean and modern interior. The new owners have obviously worked hard to get the place back on its feet and seem like really nice people. The coffee is very good and I couldn't flaw the poached eggs on toast.

Before we started our circuit walk we had a lovely meal here. We got a warm welcome and the service was up to spec. The burgers and coffee where loverly. The only thing was the amount of salt on the fries.... other than that it was great.
And the best thing; Its is only a few minutes away from the busy towns of Sassafras and Olinda, and we did not have to wait for a table. This is the place to be to enjoy a relaxed brunch.

What a delightful venue for lunch. The food was very fresh and superbly cooked. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Try the breakfast roti with chickpeas and potatoes especially if you like a curry flavour. It's like a taste bomb in your mouth. Absolutely wonderful.
J. S.
Great coffee, and the pistachio biscuit I just had was phenomenal. Great spot to come before walking the trails.

The Cork at Cooks Corner is a great find. Such a warm and inviting space! Nothing quite like sitting by the fire with a fantastic wine. The wine menu has been hand picked by a sommelier with a carefully crafted food menu to compliment the wine. Definitely a must visit if you are in the Dandenongs. Great food, great wine, warm and friendly service, what more do you want?
I. F.
My coffee arrived warmish but not hot, my partner's pot of tea was weak (due to not enough tea in the pot) and was nowhere near to piping hot as you'd reasonably expect for black tea. The food that we had was OK, but certainly nothing out of the ordinary; from our experience there are far better feeds available nearby. I guess it's still early days for this business venture!
C. S.
Great staff with an awesome selection of beers and wines. Love the coffee and escargot
M. G.
Great little cafe in the hills, with much more seating than expected. The staff are still learning the ropes, but are keen and enthusiastic. The blueberry banana bread was awesome!

So peaceful in the middle of the forest great food great staff great location

Went there today after a long brak. The place has new owners and a new attitude. A warm, welcoming one. Great service. Had only a cake to eat there but it was very nice. The coffee was very good.A lovely spot. Gets very popular with tourists on Sundays.

I have been here several times and each time the food has been amazing. Especially love the beef burger!! Coffee is great too. Lovely staff and great place to sit an enjoy a coffee
C. M.
Interesting place, nice location but the food was ho hum. My 5 year old had the popcorn chicken, he asked for the popcorn without the chicken haha. His was over cooked bordering on burnt, size of golf balls, hardly popcorn size. We both had the KFC burger, that was SUPPOSED to be southern fried but it was meh, big chunks of pickle, no flavour, plastic cheese. My partner thought it was sloppy and disgusting. The chips were nice though with aioli, crispy, coated in rosemary

Lovely atmosphere and friendly staff 👌

Very exciting to see Cooks Corner open! The coffee and food was delicious and the staff are all really lovely! For only their first week open they are doing really well. Can’t wait to see how they do in the future :)

Great coffee and great staff!

So Shaun Bennett comments the Indian cuisine owners and family members make their presence felt. Of course they would if they are the owners. What a ridiculous comment. No matter who the owners are one would hope we were aware of their presence or there would be nobody to cook and serve.
J. T.
Walked 15 km and was very hungry by the time we got there. Kids had burgers and I had butter chicken. All delicious and service was prompt and the staff very friendly.
D. M.
Great coffee spot, friendly staff, and doggo friendly
R. C.
Good lunches here. Not too expensive for the area, although a little more than you'll pay in the suburbs. They have an accessible entrance.
T. B.

Food is ok but a bit pricey for what it is
L. T.
This place is ecactly what I felt like coming to, familiar and without any weird things that im expected to know. Staff are lovely and I'm dissapointed to see people rating them below 5 stars thinking they are renound food critics!
P. G.
I haven’t been there but it looks lovely. My book club have met their and throughly enjoyed their visit. I look forward to my visit for our next BC meeting.
