The first thing you notice is the white ambiance clean and crisp the staff are friendly the menu is varied and is updated regularly, so don't be surprised if the dishes you see are no longer available. The coffee selection is amazing, if you are a coffee aficionado you will not be disappointed. Will definitely be back.

Great customer service and welcoming atmosphere! We enjoyed the cold brew coffee and their signature peanut butter brownie. I wish I visited the cafe earlier in the morning to give it more of attentive time span. I would definetely come back next time for my morning coffee!
M.
Lovely, bright ambience and great coffee (delicious beans and oat milk done perfectly).
Let down was the food - while beautifully presented, the two breakfast dishes I ordered (omelette and porcini mushroom dish) were a both dry and underwhelming in taste.
B. c.
Absolutely fantastic food with wonderful coffee options second to none. If you’re new the friendly Team will help you make the right decision on roasts for your coffee. Over all there are no wrong options for food and drinks alike. ☕️

Had brunch here. The service was friendly and efficient.
My coffee was good.
But my chicken burger w a handful of chips at $30 plus 10% surcharge was overpriced and in my opinion, well average. The bun wasn't toasted, and I couldn't eat half of it.
Just around the corner on Brunswick St is THE best chicken burger... and so much cheaper!! At least $10 cheaper w chips.
Cashless, no receipt. We can email a receipt to you, haha.
For my partner and I it was 2 mains and 2 coffees $73.00. Wow!
M. K.
Love the aesthetics, and was really pleased with the service and attention to details with coffee blends/flavors. BUT for the steep prices the food leaves quite a bit to be desired. The omelette was barely warm and the nest (although cute) was kinda disappointing…..was created to be pretty but not delicious. One highlight, apart from the coffee, was the overnight oats.

What makes the Melbourne specialty coffee scene so special? Is it the specialty coffee, or is it the delicious food? It could also be the stylish presentation of the food and beverage offer as well as the hyper sleek architecture and interior design of the specialty coffee shops.
Today I had the pleasure to explore Industry Beans at their COFFEE ROASTERY & CAFE in Fitzroy, Melbourne. I received a very warm welcome from their staff: “WELCOME to INDUSTRY BEANS!” They had two espresso house blends and one single origin espresso. I decided to go for the SUMMER espresso blend as a flat white. Guess why? This blend consisted of a natural Kenya (Endebes: SL28, SL34, Batian, and Ruiru 11) and a natural Brazil (Nascer Do Sol: Catuai and Bourbon). The barista textured the milk well. There was a great harmony between the coffee and the milk. The mouthfeel was very smooth and creamy, and I liked the sweetness.
But wait for the food! I asked the friendly barista to suggest me her favorite breakfast dish. She recommended me the “PORCINI NEST”, a porcini dusted egg, potatoe nest, wild mushroom duxelles, kale, pickled mushrooms, and truffle oil. Sounds delicious? It was delicious, and the food presentation was stunning.
As a coffee lover, I went for a filter coffee as a desert, a yellow honey processed coffee from Colombia (Wilder Lazo: Pink Bourbon, 1,600 to 1,800 m). It came with beautiful notes of lychee, manuka honey, and papaya. I especially liked the high sweetness, and the cleanliness of this coffee.
Coffee connects people: it was a very romantic experience because I was surrounded by two love couples. It was cute to her both asking similar questions: “Do you have brothers or sisters?” I enjoyed my visit. I loved the architecture and interior design. The coffee menu was large, and my order tasted great. There would have been even a decaf coffee from Mexico (Bourbon, Caturra, and Typica: 900 to 1,100m, Swiss Water processed). The brunch looked and tasted fantastic, and both the staff and the guests were very nice, kind, and entertaining.

Love love love their in house coffee beans and the unique flavours that come through. Staff were so friendly! And The food menu is also to die for. Great customer service all around!
Pictured from their menu: Avo Smash with Bacon, Poached egg, and macadamia feta.
T. G. D.
I realise apart from the usual avo on toast, another popular brunch item in Melbourne is chilli eggs. This one at Industry Beans does it’s spicy even by my standard. A really popular cafe and vibing good energy. Coffee is decent and rounded with a floral finish.
D. E.
I was really quite amazed at how good the batch brew was. That coupled with a clean, open environment and a fantastic breakfast of scrambled eggs made for an honest 5 stars. I can’t wait to come back!
D. R.
A staple and another Melbourne specialty coffee institution. Perfection both on filter and espresso. Pair that with a delicious brunch menu and enjoy the beautiful, bright space. Right on
若.
highly recommend gnocchi sooo delicious
unique cuisine and great coffee
watermelon juice is lil sour not sweet, coffee would be better choice.
shop is pretty bright, feels clean and fresh
J. S.
Great coffee and food. Excellent place to have a good brunch and talk with friends
J. G.
Was able to get a seat for 4 on a busy Sunday morning and was pleasantly surprised by the interior decor and service. Food was very lovely too. Thanks for having us!
K. N.
Beautiful interior seating in a spacious converted warehouse. Service is prompt and friendly. The menu is interesting with standard fare along with some unusual plates you don't see everywhere. Price is a tad high but you get what you pay for. Quality fresh ingredients good serving size. Ordered an oat milk latte and it was amazing!! Seriously one of the best coffee Ive had EVER! And that's saying alot from this coffee enthusiast from melbourne. Do yourself a favour and come here even if it's for a coffee. The drives worth it but you can also grab a coffee at the CBD location. Loved my experience here and will be back!!
J. L.
This Industry Beans is one of popular Australian Bean Roosting companies.
Coffee bean is full of aroma, just roasted bean flavour, and decent body in coffee.
I ordered decaf whole beans online and delivery was pretty quick. Most importantly, coffee taste was so fresh and full body flavour in espresso.
Definitely recommended!
V. B.
Good time to have affogato for a hot day!
The best was epic! Every bite was satisfying!
Attentive staff and speedy service!
For two people brunch paid $60!
E. A.
Delicious breakfast and good coffee. Loved the white furniture and open space. Friendly service.
M. K.
One of the most famous and popular cafe in Melbourne.
We can get a good coffee and food, and be relaxed at the table!
N. L.
Ekkk. Steep Fitzroy prices. $23.50 for this plate. $20 without the egg. I get that a business has overheaps etc. But I miss the old industry beans, breakfast offered more value for money.
D. T.
Great food awesome coffee, atmosphere is terrific. Nothing to fault Highly recommend.
A. S.
My absolute favourite place to buy coffee beans from. Not only is shipping always so quick, they’re coffee is of the highest quality. I recently ordered their new Fitzroy Iced Coffee to try it and it tastes wonderful!! Will definitely be restocking when I run out.
Will continue to purchase from Industry Beans for years to come. They’re the absolute best.
J. N.
Pictured: oats and fruit.
Coffee is fragrant and delicious. Food options were ample. Great ambiance and unique location.
K. F.
Delicious food, lovely staff and love to actually hear if you liked your food or not. 10/10 ☺️
J. C.
The best stop on my recent Melbourne trip. Everything was perfect. Friendly Service, atmosphere, coffee, food. I had one bite of my partners overnight oats and oh my gosh, Incredible! 10/10
H. M.
Really good coffee and wonderful bright open, minimalist surroundings. No WiFi though.
T. G.
Amazing coffee and food! Staff are always so lovely and helpful when I visit the Fitzroy location! My beans delivery when ordering online is always flawless. Absolute go to for all your coffee brewing needs.
J. L.
What a fantastic place to go for brunch or lunch, the menu is suited well for both non/vegetarians, delicious meals and great coffee.
The general theme of this establishment is coffee! So for all you coffee addicts i would highly reccomend this place.
Staff were kind and friendly who you can have a laugh with.
Atmosphere is amazing, tables weren't overly crowded together and whilst it was busy the noise was at a suitable level, sitting outside is great on a warm, sunny day and dog friendly.
An easy 15 minute drive from the city was well worth and will be coming back again but with more friends this time!
M.
Located in a stylish industrial warehouse in Fitzroy. Had their coffee before but never tried their brunch. Grabbed their signature dishes: Porcini Nest and Chilli Barramundi Folded Eggs.
Porcini Nest was unique-looking but also undeniably delicious. Deep fried enoki nest, Mushroom duxelle, Pickled shimeji mushrooms, and Truffle Oil. Every bite led to captivating umami explosions in my mouth. The runny egg also complemented the nest perfectly.
I was confused at first with Chilli Barramundi Folded Eggs (where the fish at?). But you can clearly taste barramundi in the eggs. Perfectly cooked with pleasant spicy kicks from sambal and crispy chilli oil.

Good place to go out for brunch.
From what I heard, this place is quite famous for good coffee but since I’m not a coffee person, so I can not share my opinion about coffee.
But their burger was amazing. I didn’t expect that quality of food to be honest, but yeah it’s totally worth it to visit for that burger. Staffs were very gentle as well.
They do have time limit when you dine in though but 60mins was enough for brunch.
J. K.
We went to eat dessert because we had lunch somewhere else. They looked very dynamic and busy. That was very COOL.
We was wating for about 15 minutes, and we ordered coffee garden and 2 coffee. It was very delicious.
And the man in the white shirt that guides us was very kind, and the waitress took good care of us. We felt good because all the staff were warm and friendly. I'm going to visit again next time. 100%

Coffee Lover’s Cafe
Brunch with family
Located in a quiet area of Fitzroy in Melbourne, in a sort back street. We had to wait for a table at Industry Beans, about 15-20 mins, we had to wait for a table of 4 though.
Industry Beans is all about the beans indeed! A strong but not overpowering smell of coffee lingers in the air, as bags and bags of beans are stacked high at the back of the industrial type cafe.
Menu is very extensive, everyone will be able to find something they like, value for money. It’s fine dining style brunch with beautiful presentation and gourmet style creations.
Truffled Egg Zuchinni ribbons, enoki mushroom, pea pannacotta, artichoke crisps, coffee cornbread crumb, almond cous cous and pesto $23
M. M.
Absolutely delicious coffee, and the food and service we're exceptional! The burger was juicy without being soggy, the eggs spicy without being overpowering, and the waffles light and fluffy with a perfect assortment of accoutrements.
E.
First impressions not good - the manager (bold guy) very bluntly told us to move away from the door when there was no clear sinage on where to put your name down when dining in. Having said that staff inside were pleasant. The coffee rub burger tasted pretty average and honesty couldn't taste the coffee rub at all and the special 'coffee bubble cup' was well... quite terrible. Given COVID I was surprised that staff were not wearing masks (I know not mandatory however all other restaurants have staff wearing masks).
P. T.
Great coffee! Probably the best single origin filter coffee in Melbourne
Food however was seasoned with very strong characteristics and makes coffee taste bland. Really nice place both indoor n outdoor area, will visit again to try other food options.
D. M.
Very good place with great dishes and coffee. Love the location as well in an old sort of warehouse. Staff are very nice and friendly. It gets busy on the weekends so there might be a wait, although it wasn’t that long when I went (around 10 min). Their protein balls are delicious.. I really like how they break apart - very fresh!
T. Y.
great food with people and environment, good coffee as well, it is worth a try
j. h.
Really yummy and we'll priced food. The food is not my kind of food but I got a really great burger and polenta chips combo. The staff here are lovely people and were happy to have a chat. The lady from Bath was especially lovely to deal with.
J. T.
Beautiful patio and interior for a weekend brunch spot. The food was delicious, but portions were small and I didn’t feel that content after. Between two people, I think you’d need three dishes to feel full. Regardless, flavours were on point and the coffee was good. Excellent service as well!
B. P.
Loving the take away long black decaf and super good skinny chai latte, take a perch in the little piece of green at the front and enjoy or sit inside and try the rolled oats or granola for the perfect brekky brunch pick me up. The Ethiopian Long Black is perfect as was the skinny chair latte. The service is perfect, friendly, quick and attentive and make sure you grab a choc chip cookie, heaven in a bikkie.
J. P.
The place was incredibly busy but we were still seated and given our food within 20mins of arriving even with a group of 4. They took our coffee orders the moment we arrived so they would be ready when we were seated.
The food looked incredible and tasted great. The portions were very generous and the meal ended up being very satisfying. I got the smashed avocado with a poached eggs and polenta chips. It was really good. I would definitely recommend what I had.
Overall the staff and service was fast and friendly and the food was absolutely amazing.
P. S.
Some of the best coffee in Melbourne - their blends are thoughtfully and passionately roasted and lovingly crafted into fantastic coffee drinks!
The food is also great - enough creativity to make it special without being too far out there!!
The staff are really engaging and make you feel at home and welcome you as if you are a long lost friend
The space is great - and best thing is not too noisy even when full
A must go - one of Melbourne’s best cafes and that is a real feat given lots of strong competition!!!!
F. S.
It was a long wait for a table and the coffee we ordered while we were waiting didn’t come until a good 5 min after we actually got a table but it was worth the wait, the blend and toast were perfect. The meals were small to medium in size, interesting menu but not cheap. vibe was good and staff were friendly.
M. B.
I visited today for the first time and used the app before going in. The team were friendly and offered me marshmallows to go with my hot chocolate. I also bought their cold coffee and cannot wait to try it. I highly recommend this great small business located in Fitzroy-alty.
R. R.
Few of the most perfect coffee makers in Melbourne.
L. M.
This pleace is absolutely amazing for a good breakfast/brunch! Coffee beans roasted to perfection makes your coffee delicious and morning much more pleasant. Staff is EXTREMELY friendly and polite.
Food is fresh and tasty, fixed selection but everyone will find something.
Outside seating gives this place great vibe!
Must visit when in Melbourne.
J. B.
Had the cold brew, a filter coffee, and the porcini egg. Excellent plating, great dishes with inventive flair. The coffee is also excellent, each roast represents its region well (esp. the Ethiopian cold brew). Definitely one of my favorite spots, this gets a huge recommend from me.
A. S.
Yummy food, and quite a fancy brunch. Prices are good but servings are small. Recommend ordering another meal between two people. Lovely setting and friendly staff. Sat outside and the greenery was so beautiful!
C. D.
Great Service, friendly and speedy! incredible coffee! The best avocado on toast I have ever had! Throughly enjoyed my time at industry beans, would go back next time I am in Melbourne!
A. D.
The omelette was amazing with spinach and herbs mixed in. The crumbed chicken burger was also amazing with a great chipotle mayo sauce. The setting was modern-chic with a heavy emphasis on the authentic ground coffee throughout the menu, including the desserts. The pressed tea was amazing! Amazing cold brew coffee as well! Imaginatively and authentically executed! Kind and courteous staff. Highly recommend!
N. A.
Great coffee!!
Could have more vegan options on the menu but nevertheless it’s a great place.
J. L.
Great coffee, great food but service is inconsistent. The waiter did not offer water, nor did he offer to take our coffee orders when he gave us the menus. Was seated in the veranda from 130pm to 2pm.
Took our plates away without asking if we were done, or whether it was satisfying.
T.
We had the Porcini nest and Coffee rub wagyu burger.
Food was amazing and the coffee was just as good.
I had the Fitzroy Street blend and was very tasty. They also have single origin, filter and cold brew which I didn't get to try. Will come back again.
Had a takeaway Boba Coffee and was as good as it looked.
Recommend for a great weekend breakfast or brunch!
O. S.
Industry Beans is one of the best coffeeshops in the area. Looks like a warehouse with a strong coffee smell inside. Every time coffee tastes a little bit different - they probably make their own blend based on the season.
Wanted to order a cheesecake but the waitress convinced me not to do it because it's vegan and "many customers don't like it" - I was quite surprised to get such an honest response. She suggested a peanut butter brownie - we liked it!
J. H.
Outstanding coffee in an understated environment. Different espressos and filter coffees to choose from.
We had to wait 10 minutes for a table to be available which was a good sign of the quality coffee here.
Great, efficient service. The decor is a warehouse with an open bar so you can see the kitchen and coffee stations.
High ceilings and visible roastery at the back of the cafe.
Really enjoyed the Winter espresso; dark, strong, chocolate/nutty flavours.
Didnt have food as was expensive, so cant comment on the food side. However, the food did look fresh and top quality; from the plates being served up as we drank our coffee.
Would visit again and again.
J. T.
Breakfast @industrybeans cafe before flying back home to Sydney. We were greeted with very friendly customer service from staff. We very much enjoyed our Southern Fried Chicken Burger and Marinated Rare Beef. Coffee was very strong, just how I like it. Only down side? It is quite $$ for breakfast.
S. G.
We really enjoyed the autumn brunch menu here. Other than the long wait time we ❤️ everything about industry beans.
Warm & friendly staff, good tasting food and coffee. We could also take our pram inside, which is always a plus.
C. L.
The coffee soaked pearls were just sago, and not the mini tapioca pearls I expected with my usual bubble tea. Wished it was, or a coffee jelly.
Coffee though, it’s good! Really enjoyed the refreshing ice coffee and milk taste of the drink.
Order the vegetable crisps to share! So worth it.
A. A.
Great coffee, I loved the porcini nest, I believe you should mix the nest ingredients really well before eating, some ingredients are really sour but they were very good after I mixed them together. The service was just ok.
C. C.
Well presented food in an equally nice atmosphere. Have to get their early for a seat in the container style front "garden". Roaster also on display at the back end of the industrial unit.
Great place to learn more about coffee and filter methods from experienced staff too. Menu presentation is first class for both coffee and food options.
J. W.
One word, Faultless. The in house roasted coffee blends, amazing. One of the best Coffee’s I have ever enjoyed. The pumpkin sourdough accompanying the Manchego Omelette, delicious. Not cheap, but nothing ever worth it ever is. Would suggest a booking for breakfast on the weekends. Gets busy
D. B.
Daughter and dad out for a walk.
What a fantastic breakfast! Went here for Kassie's birthday and were super impressed with the food and service. how's this for amazing presentation! Looking forward to going back again, thanks all!!
S. L.
I think it was just an average, solid brunch place.
Ordered the IB fried chicken burger with polenta chips as a side. Fried chicken was very juicy but overall the burger was too dense due to the heavy dressing. And the burger just tasted one dimensional, like there's only one type of taste which is boring to eat after a few bites. 🍔🍔
Coffee was not as impressive too. ☕☕ The coffee I got was slightly on the burnt taste. But the cafe was packed on Sunday... so probably forgivable? haha
Service was amazing though. The food arrived within 10mins after ordering too. Very impressive. 👏👏
C. Y.
The place deserve a good rating. We got introduction of the coffee menu and.the winter food menu. The staff is super attentive, patient and knowledgeable of the food and is very helpful with recommendation as well. Great place to go if you are looking for somewhere to chill outside CBD.
E. P.
Great coffee, great ambience, great service!
ordered some food & their wagyu burger was amazing!!!!!!!!! the porcini nest was visually an art piece but not filling at all thus a snack more than a meal.
also loved that there were a lot of dogs!
H. S.
Cosy place. Coffee tasted good but it was not flatwhite, although I ordered one, it also was not hot despite my request. No water on the table that we had to get it ourselves from the waiters' shelf. Burnt chips and not really delicious. Nice wagyu burger though. The guy at the door was nice and friendly too.
R. N.
Very nice and delicious tasting coffee braised beef and red rice salad Asian style! Highly recommended and will try it again!
A busy coffee shop, with a lot of bums on seats. Very friendly staff which provide helpful knowledge on the beans they have. Always a fan of the food and the walk to get there. It's quite the experience!
P. N.
Really nice staff, flavorsome food, prices are bit higher than other brunch places but it's worth it.
R. N.
Coffee was great. Hype is awesome. The foods lacked the taste and were missing something. the quantity was very low. Presentation was great. I think the place became famous for presentation and weird dishes. The water glasses were smelly;(. If I get there again will go just for the coffee or show the place to friends from other countries.
R. P.
I had one of the best breakfasts I’ve ever had at Industry Beans! The wait wasn’t long on a Sunday morning - just 5mins. The coffee was rich in flavour and the Bonsoy was frothed perfectly. The Machego Omlette was absolutely decadent and was paired with pumpkin sourdough and avo. We also got some polenta chips, which were yum! The service was timely and polite - overall recommend!
D. A.
I went to this cafes once after I read many of great reviews. Actually it was as expected. They have great indoor and outdoor seating. The drinks there are excellent. The stuff are friendly . And the menus there are vary with reasonable prices. However, the service there is quite bit slow. It took 20 min and they forget an order I made which was a desert !! I waited for 40 min and when I asked they didn’t placed it!! Many cafes and restaurants I went to here is Melbourne. This is the first time it happens. I mightn’t come back there again.
J. L.
Ducking in for a quick bite, I was totally wowed by the innovative Juniper Berry Sous Vide Salmon. The listed ingredients were samphire, seaweed, snowpea tendrils, beetroot coral, edible sand, sea foam, yuzu jelly and of course salmon. I'm magnetised by unusual offerings.
This was such a fun dish for the tastebuds, which relished the delicate flavours of each ingredient while appreciating their harmonising effect and texture as a whole. The display was aesthetically pleasing and very Instagrammable.
The warehouse setting holds the coffee beans roasted onsite. The super friendly server was on point in helping me with my food choices while speedy service meant there was hardly any wait. One of the best cafe experiences in Melbourne's competitive gastronomic scene - kudos Industry Beans.
S. R.
Pretty fancy food and coffee. I tried the truffle eggs, but it was too many contrasting flavors and textures for me. Will come and try another dish again. Very fast service!
J.
Food did not live up to expectations or to the prices!
Honestly thought this was an average place when it comes to food.
Ordered the Cinnamon Dusted Brioche and was disappointed by the lack of flavor from it...if you are a sweet tooth like me and craving a delightful and sweet dessert then be prepared to be disappointed! Not worth $20 at alllllll or the wait!!
I think the dish that had the most value and flavor amongst my friends was the scrambled eggs over toast, valued at $14!
If you are looking for a beautiful place to be seen at and is more interested in the presentation of everything than this place is for you!
Ambience is great! Love the outdoor seating with the beautiful hanging plants over top of you. Lots of young hip people. Food was presented very beautifully. Looking for an Instagram worthy moment? You will have it here :)
M. H.
This industrial ambience total fits within the urban streetscapes of Fitzroy. As soon as yiu walk in you know you are at the mercy of coffee sentients which then is further confirmed when the coffee menu arrives. I had the chisi AB that sourced beans fron Malawi which was great. The procini eggs with wood smoked bacon was absolutely delicious and full of different textures as well. Worth a try for sure. There was a line today which i expect is the norm for this place. Inside, there is a constant bizz of happy customers and cafe operators delivering their craft. Amongst the organised kaos the floor staff manages the customer well with a smile.
D. C.
The new location, to me at least, is much brighter than the previous one. The coffee us still great and the breakfast is quite exceptional.
A. L.
Came here at about 8:30am on a cold misty morning. It wasn't very busy inside but i stood awkwardly for a couple minutes before getting the attention of a barista.
The long black comes deconstructed. Ive always been told a good long black is when the coffee goes in after the water. However this deconstructed version didn't taste much different. Good coffee !
The acai oats was not what I was expecting but damn it was delicious. The oats had a beautiful light fruity flavour which went perfectly with the aerated mousse. The bits of watermelon and nashi pear added a refreshing element to the dish.
I enjoyed what I ordered. Looking forward to trying the rest of the menu.
B.
Very average tasting breakfast for a place so seemingly fancy. Good coffee. Lots If coffee options.
G. R.
Amazing staff, amazing food, unparalleled coffee. There isn't a single reason not to pay a visit!
Edit: to be honest... I keep going back and the quality still amazes me, and the dishes too!
C. H. (.
Came here for lunch last Friday with a friend. The service was friendly and the food came out really efficiently. My meal was delicious and the waitress sprayed some truffle oil over the meal for a special touch. So many good options to choose from.
A. K.
Coffee and brunch are their specialty. Industrial vibe inside this local warehouse eatery. Expansive coffee menu. We had the kale kimchi bowl (recommend adding the extra egg) and the truffled eggs. Both beautifully plated dishes however on the smallish side for the price. Staff are friendly and service is good. Very popular on weekends.
J. W.
Definitely a must try cafe. Coffee is one of the tops, staff was friendly, we bought beans from there, but food wasn't really satisfying. They look fantastic, unfortunately both me and my bf didn't finish our dishes. Burger was too dry and bit burned, and the black thing on salmon(sorry I don't know what it was) is so hard and hurting my teeth. Maybe only these two dishes wasn't good, I don't know. Other people seems enjoy their food. Anyway I will go again for coffee for sure, and maybe try other food.
C. G. T.
Coffee is good. Food is not cheap. Menu is a bit limited. Prefer alfresco than inside as it can get quite smoky.
H. V.
Great coffee, delicious food. Always busy, 15-20 mins wait if you come on the weekend around 11am.
Very friendly staff.
E. C.
Absolutely loved the ambience here. Fitzroy was really pretty and this place was a gem. Food was quirky and had a lot of interesting healthy bits like edible flowers etc, coffee was good :-)
S. H.
Such a different venue, inside and outside sitting. More than likely there will be a wait. The meals are decorative, really tasty, but not overwhelmingly filling. Choose wisely for a complete meal.
T. B.
Truly inspirational menu, very clean on the palate.
Crispy beans and quinoa one of my favourite dishes this season. Mexican flavours with a twist and superfilling.
Freshly roasted beans unique to industry beans roasted on site. Great place for a coffee.
Photos: Crispy beans (top) and cured salmon (bottom dish)
G.
This is a great place. Best when it's not so busy and hence peaceful. Irony is the most peaceful and pensive table for one looks directly into the sun when it's not busy...
Anyway, excellent coffee, great turmeric salmon bagel with beetroot and caper side smear deconstruction thing. They also accept AMEX, winning all round.
M. K. L.
Good coffee but rather bland food. I had the wagyu burger with the add ons- bacon and polenta chips. I expected a lot out of the burger patty but it was probably the most disappointing aspect of the burger, it tasted like a veggie patty. I came here at 10 am on Sunday and there were plenty of seats, but it was quite busy by the time I left around 10:40.
J. C.
Great food, very imaginative. Good variety of coffee. Busy, food and coffee came out really quickly even though they said there would be a wait. Service is friendly and helpful.
J. T.
Excellent place with friendly, prompt service.
Food was really great - the wagyu beef burger and cheeses omelette deserved special mention.
Coffee were excellent - I am highly critical of the coffee I take , so to emphasise the coffee is really good!
Ambience was cool, unpretentious. The outdoors area looks good to lounge in. It’s cold now else I would definitely take the outdoor seating.
I. T.
Food was pretty good. They tried to be fancy and had the salad spread out covering the whole dish making it hard to eat - would’ve preferred if it was served in one heap.
N. R.
Amazing venue with lots of natural light. The food was creatively presented with flavours to match. Coffee was delicious and customer service was great. The only downside was that they didn’t have tomato sauce.
M. M.
One of my top 10 to go to cafes of Melbourne for obvious reasons food and coffee and ambience always gets me and pushing the envelope with the food is another level which most cannot go to. Always a pleasure at Industry Beans!
S. S.
The food was good and the waiters were extremely good at what they do! However, sometimes an iced mocha can just come in one container rather than with some breakers and whole coffee beans as garnish. Lovely atmosphere, beautiful presentation and great location.
E.
Gorgeous location, good customer service and clean amenities. To avoid waiting times, strongly suggest to prebook a table. Good menu also!
V. D.
Amazing coffee and desert. I also wanted to try their food but didn’t have time. Absolutely come back for coffee and I will try the food next time
N. J.
The coffee is really good, Crispy Bean and Quinoa with cured Salmon tasted amazing as well. Greatly impressed with the food and also the atmosphere in the cafe. Good interior design for a cozy cafe.
N.
Very pretty looking food and full of flavour! I had the truffled eggs which were delish- the truffle was only truffle oil sprayed over right as it was served. I'm thinking I need one of these spray bottles for they're not in season too.
K. J.
Lovely place for a very Melbourne like brunch experience. Quiet tucked away location, great service and nice interior and courtyard/open air seating. My friend and I both ordered the omelette and shared a peanut butter brownie, both of which were amazing paired with superb Melbourne coffee. Would recommend if in the area or even to make the small trip from the CBD.
A. N.
We ordered the wagyu burger and smashed avo. Everything was quite nice but nothing quite memorable. The reason i choose to give a 3 star rating was because the service from our waiter quite dismal. He was rather inflexible with our request to move tables then he later dropped a dirty fork on me. All he said was woops. To be fair all the other staff seemed fine. However my first experience here was quite poor and I feel no real desire to ever return.
D. Z.
Delicious food, beautifully presented, put me in a better mood when I eat them.
J. H.
Outstanding coffee in an understated environment. Different espressos and filter coffees to choose from. …
S. T.
Love the new shop. Best cafe in Melbourne hands down.
C. H. (.
Came here for lunch last Friday with a friend. The service was friendly and the food came out really efficiently. My meal was delicious and the waitress sprayed some truffle oil over the meal for a special touch. So many good options to choose from.
M. M.
One of my top 10 to go to cafes of Melbourne for obvious reasons food and coffee and ambience always gets me and pushing the envelope with the food is another level which most cannot go to. Always a pleasure at Industry Beans!

I've just had one of the most different yet most delicious meals I've ever had, seriously. I was super surprised by what I've gotten, and then surprised another time right after I've had my first bite. Stunning! Thank you!
T. B.
Truly inspirational menu, very clean on the palate.
Crispy beans and quinoa one of my favourite dishes this season. Mexican flavours …
G. T.
Interesting coffee menu and staff was really helpful in explaining the menu. Nice deck for outdoor lover and lunch as well
A.
Must visit cafe - super fancy but good tasting food, cool atmosphere and loads of coffee to taste. Usually a bit of a wait to get in though!
Gets busy
L. H.
5 stars every time. Doesn't matter what you eat at this place it never disappoints.
Favorites include home cooked/cut crisps, mushroom rosti and drinks are grand, although the hot chocolate a bit weak. Coffee is top notch.
G. C.
Loved the clean interior. I ordered their bubble coffee and it got a very unique taste, loved it!
C. R.
Fantastic food, delicious coffee, friendly and very helpful staff, nice cozy warm space. There was no wait earlier on a weekday. Highly recommended, preferred to other breakfast in Melbourne including Higher Ground.
K. W.
Awesome place. Friendly staff. Cool decor. Menu creative. Coffee options fantastic. Had the Compressed Rosewater Watermelon and Pannacotta. Coffee : Aeropress Tanzania Tweega AA and Gold Mesh Ethiopia Mormora, both brewed very well. Well done guys :)
J. N.
This deconstructed carrot cake was a thing of sheer beauty - both in looks and taste! The coffee is always excellent but this dish took my appreciation of this institution to a whole new level!
L. C.
Amazing coffee selection and lovely staff!
H. Z.
Great coffee, but food wasn’t pleasant enough.
S. Z.
We absolutely loved this brunch cafe; the highlight was the coffee and the fried chicken burger!
C. N.
One of the best coffee and brunch in Fitzroy area. Wide range of coffee selections and interesting stories behinds each meal.
M. M.

Delicious food, great coffee options and friendly service. We really enjoyed it on a monday noon.
M. N.
We had a wonderful meal, great staff, incredible coffee, and delicious food.
E. P.
Lovely place, lovely atmosphere, lovely staff, tasty coffees and great food !
G. C.
Beautiful coffee and gorgeous food. Had a truffled egg with pea panna cotta and a gorgeous almond and coffee-cornbread soil, sprinkled with flowers - stunning presentation and fresh flavours. Staff super friendly and kind to a mom with her baby (me). One quibble - bit tricky to navigate with kids / stroller and some of the guests looked distinctly unimpressed that I'd brought a baby into an ultra-cool cafe. This was no fault of the establishment so it still gets my 5 stars, but calling it out in case a parent is reading this review. There are more kid-friendly options for incredible coffee.

Cool space
Nice coffee
Aesthetical plating of food

Very busy crowded w people
Service wasnt bad but wasnt great
Omelette was good but not great
C. T. (.
Very nice waitress and cool atmosphere. We went for a wonder and felt a bit thirsty and tired, decided to stop in here for a quick rest and drink to refresh ourselves. Bubblecup drinks were fantastic and we were definitely relaxed afterwards. Will definitely come back!!
R.
Very good coffee, food looks nice but just taste okay.
K. T.
I've been coming to Industry Beans for years now and their vegetable chips are one of my favourite things in this entire world. So crispy, so tasty and the aioli it comes with is just perfect 👌my brother and his girlfriend thoroughly enjoyed their shanklish omelette and the coffee here is generally quite good! Though their almond milk lattes need some improving...
J. D.
Awesome venue! the kitchen is on the ball, the staff are so very lovely and of course the food is delicious.
E. I.
Innovative and delicious food!! Service was quick and the coffee was beautiful.
C. H.
Second time here and decided to try somthing different. So glad i did. They served with a light spray of truffle oil. A work of art 😍 can't beleive the quality and presentation at a cafe/roastery. And the juice and coffee was lovely aswell. Amazing coffee, service and beautiful latte art on every coffee.
M. b. H.
Extra points go to the coffees👌. Otherwise food was pretty average but presented elegantly😲. I got the salmon expecting a decent size, to my surprise, I was left with a half empty stomach😣. Don't get me wrong the food was good😚, just the portions were a little small😕

The only problem of eating here is that no breakfast in the world seems to be good enough. Amazing coffee and amazing brunch, friendly staff. Everything was perfect. ☕🥞🍞
L. F.
Always an excellent coffee, friendly staff, great location & atmosphere. Their beans are some of the best in Melbourne!
H.
Like the feel of the place and their menu designs. Make it seem like they know their stuff. The roaster is right there. Wasn't blown away by the coffee but it's good. Wish coffee spots would be more ok being a coffee spot rather than having to tack on fancy pricey food 🤷♂️
R. M.
Amazing for breakfast and coffee. So much flavor. Porcini Egg and smoked omlette are highly recommended. Coming back here next time I'm in town!
r. a.
For food 5/10
For coffee 7/10
For staff 10/10
For atmosphere 7/10
I will back to grab a coffee and set outside
P. B.
These guys LOVE their coffee, and the place has a great urban vibe. The menu is great, and there's some pretty special teas and other drinks. Free wi-fi. Awesome!
J. W.
Had a great coffee, and bacon and egg burger for breakfast here. Was served by a lovely Welsh girl, nothing was too much trouble, really appreciated the great customer service!
H.
neat and tidy and good coffee !
But, There is a need for better basic hygiene.
K. M.
Amazing coffee, quiet location and great food - so nothing to complaint :)
S. M.
Great coffee! Great food as well. The 3 dishes we ordered were super good.
T. T.
On top of the great food and coffee, I love how this cafe brings back fond memory of my grandma's store with goods piled up to the roof.
W. Z. (.
Taste fantastic!
The beef burger is one of the best.
Salmon and rare beef are good enough.
N.
Just arrived Melbourne and visit this lovely place. We come near a time it was going to close but stuff is lovely and coffee are great. Nice for starting your day.
A. A.
The food was tasty. Too expensive really. 23$ for this plate without bread (+ $4). I didn't try the coffee. The presentation of the coffee was too commercial
J. F.
Gorgeous interior. All booths. The staff are lovely. I had the delicious bubble coffee. I had a decaf version, but the tapioca bubbles had plenty of caffeine kick.
E. G.
Coffee is always great. The menu is experimental, you will always find something you haven't tried at any other brunch spot in Melbourne.
P. O.
Amazing food, staff and venue. Very eclectic menu with cool vibes to match. Coffe is on another level 😍
E. X.
Really good coffee, and pair with the toasted pumpkin sourdough with cashew butter is perfect.
J. L.
I always pay a visit to Industry Beans whenever I’m in Melbourne. This place never disappoints
E. C.
Great place for a weekend brunch but please prepare to wait.
S. “. J.
Been here a couple of times. Love the high ceilings and the long shared tables. Pretty cool, friendly warehouse-like environment. Food and drinks are damn good too.
B. K.
You will not be disappointed. Mecca for coffee and food look like pieces of artwork. Highly recommend.
D. P.
Incredible coffee I always stop by here when I can, they always scratch that coffee itch
k. m.
Dog friendly place. Good coffee and foods. Excellent service
D. L.
Great coffee and service. Would go there for the coffee. The breakfast is a bit pricey.
T. K.
One of the best coffee in Melbourne!!! Nice ambient and friendly staff.
A. T.
Service is friendly, food is unique, and it can be good or bad depending on how keen you are on trying something new.

Some really good coffee! I had short ribs which had an Asian twist.
P. H.
Good place to spend brunch-time with your friends, good coffee 😌, it’s a good idea to order iced coffee for this upcoming summertime.
T. S.
Bit confused with all the deconstructed style drinks, not really necessary but quality of food and drink is nice. Generous serving of avo, love that
P. W.
Great to beback at thenewly reopened cafe. Coffee and food were up to there nomal high standard.
G. C.
Food and Coffee were excellent. Industrial space fitted out well and very good service. Little pricey
L. L.
Very good brunch! Love the combinations of the flavours and service was very nice and fast!

Love the new shop. Best cafe in Melbourne hands down.
S. v. D.
Best coffee place in Melbourne in my opinion (and it has many good competitors for this title)! Friendly staff, nice atmosphere, great food, but absolutely amazing coffees. Try the cold brew on a hot summer day!
Y. S.
Quite busy but the coffee is great. Perfect for a cold day in Fitzroy.
C. Y. (.
Food and service were awesome!
FW is a bit weak...though
M. S.
Nice Food & Coffee ☕️
But prices are bit high according to servings.
P. J.
One of the best coffee and brunch place in melbourne!
A. G.
Great trendy casual noisy place, inside outside seating with helpful friendly staff and amazing food and awesome coffee
j. c.
What is in the coffee? Buzzing all day. Delicious
M. S.
Very impressed. Service is friendly and prompt. Very much a regulars place, bloke behind me was on first name basis and was encouraged to taste test the coffee beans he was buying. My long black was citrusy and robust. Very well rounded flavour with a salty sour hit that lingers at the back of the tongue, totally delicious. I’ll probably be back as I walk past this place everyday with my dog.
A. V.
The menu items sounded too hipster to be true, which set my expectations low, but they ended up just being accurate descriptions of the food. Our 3 breakfast dishes were tasty and plentiful, coffee was good, staff were excellent. Bill was on the upper end but my wife commented that she wouldn't have been able to make this at home and it be this delicious, so the value was good.
l. c.
Above average coffee, but not that special. Food average and no that remarkable !
A. K.
The coolest coffee shop I found in Melbourne! Delicious coffee, cool spot, amazing food!
M. Y.
Great coffee with a great hangout space!! High ceiling, abundant natural light. Industrial feel.
K. H.
Great service, consistently great coffee too (both dining-in and the take home beans), would like to see a sweet addition to the brunch menu, but otherwise interesting and tasty variety of dishes! The cookie and brownie were delicious.
N. W.
The food and coffee was great, which was to be expected. But what really set this cafe apart, was the exceptional service from the staff. They created a welcoming, friendly and attentive environment, without being overbearing.
M. P.
Great coffee, great food, attentive & friendly staff. Loved it.
S. J.
Great quality coffee and I like the vibe of the place. I haven't tried the food but it looks great.
J. F.
Ordered Boana PNG coffee online and received Raro Nansebo Ethiopian by accident. They immediately sent me my correct order the next day, and another 0.5Kg arrived today - so no complaints from my end! The Boana is exactly what I was expecting and looking for. A dark roast, perfect for both pour over and espresso, or even kopi tobruk style. The Ethiopian was a bit of a let down, over roasted IMHO, too strong for a pour over and not really hitting the spot for an espresso.
Still 1.5kg of premium single origin, small batch roasted Melbourne coffee for only $27.50, can't be bad 😍 After lockdown will have to go and try the food as well.
j. b.
Loved everything about this cafe, the staff, the food and the decor. I'll definitely be back
D. Z.
Delicious food, beautifully presented, put me in a better mood when I eat them.
L. W.
Great coffee& food
j.
Great quality of food. Beautiful presentation with a price we can all accept.
U. P.
Probably the best coffee in Melbourne. Friendly highly professional staff, nice interior. Not just a coffee shop but a great supplier of the best coffee beans to your place.
Definately there place to visit and come to take once you are in Victoria.
M. M.
Good coffee and food. Service was a tad slow but pleasant nonetheless.
N.
Very popular brunch place that normally would need to wait for at least 10-15mins on weekends and holidays. We were seated at the long table to share with other people which is interesting to listen to different conversations. The food here is well decorated and taste pretty good. Coffee is great with the Ethiopian cold brew. Unfortunately no fizzy mix with coffee. Hopefully they can add something like it.
J. G.
Had the waygu burger. Pretty much the greatest burger Ive ever tasted. I just sat back after eating it and basked in the knowledge it will be some time before another burger surpasses it. THe cold brew and banana brew were great too.
R. P.
Really good coffee with a really cool menu. Lots of fun and different options.
B. Y.
Delicious brekkis and great coffee. Must visit when in Melbourne.
A.
I had an amazing brunch there, even if I did pay 30 dollars for not that much food, but the place in itself is beautiful, the staff very nice and all in all, we know how expensive Australia is so I just have to get used to it !
J. M.
Best coffee and fair price. Been reading the comments and ppl love to say it’s pricey but conveniently forget to mention they order alternative milk or x shots lol
Y. C.
very crowded on the weekends, good seems quite nice but u need to wait at least 30 minutes to be seated. The staff is nice.
I ordered soy latte to go, my coffee was split out of cup. Coffee itself had no personality, soy latte tasted like soy milk with coffee flavor. Feel disappointed.
L. S.
Best breakfast in a long time.
The new fit out is A+
F. v. N.
Best iced soy latte I've ever had.
D. M.
One of the Best restaurants I've been to.

S. P.
Lovely brunch.
Bit small portion of food.
Lovely coffee.

Industry Beans roast some of my favourite coffee in Australia so always a pleasure to stop by when in Melbourne. Breakfast was superb with great creativity and care put into the design of each dish. The coffee is top notch with espresso and filter options available. Pour over was great. Only issue here is getting a seat as it seems half of Fitzroy line up on a weekend for brunch. Luckily got in before the rush but saw some folks waiting for 30+ minutes. Energetic and bustling vibe.
s. k.
I choose their Fitzroy Street coffee latte and Chocolate Brownie, it's served quickly and fresh, their coffee is one of the best that I ever tasted and Brownie was OK but not top of the ladder.
J. P.
Nice place to grab a quick coffee and a bite but 2 things that need improvement
1. Ventilation issue, you come out smelling like you’ve been in a smokie kitchen even after 5 min.
2. Menu could be slightly improved to cater for a quick lunch. Too many places try and be too fancy with menus when simple and good quality works better.
P. L.
Food / Coffee / Service / Ambience. Everything was AMAZING. Loved it.
I. M. R.
Probably the best coffee in Melbourne (and certainly one of the most snobbish in a good way!). Food is innovative and presented beautifully. The place gets very crowded, so a long wait is sometimes necessary. Service is pretty good.
T. H.
One word - Awesome! You have got to try this place otherwise you are missing out. Coffee and food taste great. I particularly enjoy staring at the food. Why? Because the look of the food is just that good! Still not quite sure what the flowers are for but, hey, you can’t complain about great decoration and attention to details.
G. v. d. M.
Great cafe with delicious food. The crispy chicken burger is very tasty. The plain version is the win, as it gets a bit dry with added cheese.
Good place even if you don't drink coffee, the tea selection is solid, and they will resteep the leaves if you want.
M. M.
Dishy design and plating. Coffee is excellent. Amiable staff.
M. M.
After trying 8 coffee shops in Melbourne in 4 days, we were disappointed. Although everyone had an above-average number of very good reviews and called themselves Third Wave Coffee Shops, nothing suited our tastes. We found industrial beans on the 5th day of our trip. At last! Good coffee at last! Perfect bean, perfect roasting, correct mixing ratio of milk and coffee. and then the temperature was right too!
The Batch Brew was awesome, too. No bitterness just big flavor! wonderful!
A. S.
Try summer blend.
R. H.
Really good coffee shop. great design and fantastic coffee.
J. S.
Love the interior of Industry Beans! Such a cool vibe inside.
If you are a coffee lover this is probably the place for you. There are SO many varieties of drinks, including bubble tea!
For food, I tried the Overnight Oats, it was beautifully presented and the flavours were on point. I only wished the serving was a little bigger ;)
Definitely give this place a visit for the coffee! Go on a weekday if you can cos it is packed on the weekend and you may have to wait!
H. M.
Amazing customer service. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming! The wait was long but they explained and kept us in a loop while we stood around. Coffee was nice but the food was not as good as I expected. It wasn’t really worth the wait so if I do go there next time I might go on a less busy day as the location is just fabulous to sit around on a sunny day.
H. B.
This is a nice brunch spot in a beautiful industrial building. You can see at the back where the coffee beans are roasted. The food was really nice, I had carrot cake and coffee, but was on the pricier side.
Staff were very friendly to me, but I overheard them being a little impolite with a customer whose English was not very good. This place can get really busy so I think they just want everyone served efficiently, but they could definitely have been more helpful to this customer.
G. K.
Perfect coffee and one of the best breakfasts I've had (porcini nest, beatiful balance of flavors). Highly recommended!
M. R.
My favourite place to get a coffee fix in the morning! Thanks for getting me through the day guys!
L. R.
great new space! coffee brilliant as per
A. S.
After only ever visiting Industry Beans on the weekend I was so excited to have a wonderful relaxing breakfast here on a weekday. The food is always amazing, thus why we wait for a table on Saturdays for up to 30 minutes. If I have a chance to work from home again I will definitely be doing some of my work here! Great service & food and one of our favorite breakfast spots in Fitzroy.
M. S.
Been going for a few years now. Next to the mills. Coffee is obviously their main thing and its very good. The food is pretty good too and changes with the season i believe. The salads were fantastic and i had the manchego omelette which was fantastic as well. The servings sizes dont leave you hungry either. There is almost always a wait for a table but worth it. That said the whole area has some serious options for food and coffee. Service is friendly but given how busy it is, can get a bit slow but they make up for it in friendliness
G. J.
Incredibly good coffee beans ... fast delivery service ... super impressed and satisfied! I ordered Roasters Choice 500gms and they sent two different styles at 250gms which was a real thrill! Thanks!
J.
Friendly staff, nice atmosphere and excellent coffee. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area. Very friendly staff. 4 stars instead of 5 is because the toilets weren’t clean after 15:00. Hopefully they improve this.
s. e.
Great coffee, beautiful atmosphere and welcoming staff
D. M.
simply fantastic!
Coffee: prefect, i ordered a soy flat white, and a long black. I never drink black coffee but this was really good. The soy flat white was perfect too!
Food: delicious! Ordered the coffee rubbed wagyu beef burger with bacon and the fries, Side of mushrooms, Omelette. Everything was just great! Amazing tastes.
Even went on and ordered a desert. We only went for brunch!
A little more expensive than most places, but absolutely worth it!
Will be going back.
Top notch!!
E. S.
Amazing coffee. Bacon was a bit burnt and not worth $6 extra. Eggs were undercooked. Nice herb through them but heavily under seasoned. Toast was nice but not buttered. Would definitely be back for coffee but not for food. Was pretty overpriced.
C. T.
The brunch game is strong with this one. Bright, industrial-style set-up that's all the rage in Melbourne at the moment. High standards for smashed avo and coffee. Nice covered courtyard for quietly chilling on a Sunday morning. Staff are friendly and skilled. Prices are commensurate with what you get, which is a really pleasant, delicious experience.
N. C.
I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to Industry Beans. The venue is lovely to look at and more so sit in. I sat outside and the decor really helped to escape into a private world away from the less attractive industrial aesthetic of the surrounding area. I must compliment Industry on not only the beautifully delicious gold mesh coffee they gave me but also on the presentation of the drink. I really enjoyed being able to pour a small amount out as I pleased to allow it to cool a little and to better appreciate the flavour and aroma changes as it cooled.
王.
I eat very full. The place is beautiful with natural light.
N. H.
I had the peanut butter soup with smoked duck and mashed squash. New York Matinee called it "a playful but mysterious little dish." You'll love it.
G. G.
Great, quality consistent coffee. Great food menu, have had breakfast here numerous times, bit of a wait sometimes though. Would go as close as I get to 5 stars if not for the air of pretentiousness you can sometimes feel in the place.
J. B.
Great coffee but make sure to ask for a cappuccino to be extra hot
V. A.
Love the new premises and as good as ever
S. G.
A bit overrated and hyped up. My first soy latte arrived split and curdled, which they politely replaced. Second one wasn't even that nice. The meal portions are pretty small for what you pay and not all that flavorful. The outdoor seating area is really nice though.
S. S.
Industry Beans is a proud staple of Melbourne cafe culture. They are committed to serving only the best coffee and sell and serve a changing roster of interesting and delicious coffee. They also have a cool app that allows you to preorder!
S. E.
I’ve only had coffee here and a snack and both were excellent. I usually buy the Rose Street coffee beans as it’s my favourite blend for making a brew at home. Beans are always freshly roasted and only $13 per bag. Staff are friendly and the place has a good atmosphere.
L. G.
Favourite coffee shop to work from in Fitzroy. Great ambience, even better coffee - the beans are worth buying for home brew, too! Food is not the best in the area, I think their portions are fairly small and there's come catching up to do compared to other cafes around when it comes to brunch.
But when it comes to coffee, they are (almost) unbeatable.
S. L.
Too slow.... 20 mins for a take away... better cafes nearby
C. P.
Cute little place with a real nice vibe. The Wagu beef burger although slightly pricey was pleasantly delicious and filling. Staff also very friendly.
R. W.
After the great reviews, made a point to get a coffee here. My coffee was a big disappointment and my daughter's coffee was also disappointing. Perhaps an error made by the barista, but long black was very weak. Worst coffee of my time in Melbourne. However, it is a great looking café and quite busy. I would have asked them to remake if it wasn't so busy.
J. S.
Beans and baristas are great, menu covers brunch well.
S.
The omelette with sambal garnish is a nice twist of your traditional omelette toast. Coffee and the service was decent too.
P. A.
Break was real good and a nice coffee I do enjoy this little place and some friendly staff
C. W.
Great atmosphere (if you’re a fan of industrial-like decor).
Food is spot on. Had the coffee rubbed ribs (Spring menu) and it was divine.
They roast their coffee in-house as well. So you know it’s fresh.
C. M.
Had a bagel sandwich.
Was really pretty so I guess that counts for something in 2018...
Appearance not necessarily equivalent to reality here tho.
Bagel was bland. Came dry and lukewarm with a light toast job.
Why would you not put butter or at least a light smear of schmear on the bagel?
I shouldn't have to ask what things are when they arrive on my plate.
And to boot, the flavours were all pretty average. Not exciting. It looked great, but tasted average. I would have been more fulfilled getting a bagel sandwich elsewhere. Or eating Vegemite on toast at home.
Menu would benefit from less innovative ingredients and more focus on flavour.
M. D.
The food looks amazing but feels like they have gotten a bit too into plating and forgot about flavor. The coffee is good but has become a bit less consistent as of late. Not the powerhouse it once was...very nice place though, good for getting some work done
K. A.
Holy moly the food is amazing! And they have coffee.
H. C.
The place is good, I love its interior design, it's really cool. They have unique menu and the foods look amazing too. Unfortunately the food price is expensive and they don't maintain the quality of the coffee.
The wait staff served my coffee with terrible latte art, which was not supposed to be served in any specialty coffee cafe of Melbourne.
Z. L.
Had the bubble cup here found it to be built for instagram rather than taste. The coffee was quite bitter and didn’t mix well with the syrup and milk chosen for it. Surprising given the huge line up outside.
C. M.
Excellent coffee!
Unique and delicious food.
Excellent coffee!
Wonderful staff.
And did I mention the excellent coffee!?
M. K.
Incredible chicken burger to be had here! It's a combination of flavours that will not leave you wanting.
Super friendly staff that have good knowledge of the menu, enough to steer you away from any modifications that may not go down so well.
Highly recommend a visit!
J. B.
Amazing staff that take pride in their work. Food was hands down the freshest and most thought through brunch style I've had ever. Coffee is amazing and prepared/served professionally. I will be coming back and encourage everyone to check this place out.
N. M.
Didn't actually like the coffee here, but I have only tried the Fitzroy Street blend. Found it to be weak and bitter at the same time and they use an *all natural* almond milk that curdled. Burgers were good but quite expensive. Service was good and the place had a nice atmosphere.
G. C.
Not just for coffee, although their pour-over filter is one of the best I've had. Fantastic, seasonal menu. Beautiful fresh produce. The truffled mushrooms and cured salmon with tea egg where spot-on delicious perfection. Open and light space. Always busy, but never noisy, perfect ambience that you can hear the person opposite you but not the next table.
Q. M.
Had to wait ten minutes in the rain for a table and then another ten (at least) once seated to have our orders taken, which put a sour taste in my mouth. But once I tasted my Oatly flat white, all was resolved. It wasn't super hot like I'd wanted but was so smooth and creamy and basically faultless otherwise. Staff were also (mostly) friendly despite being very harried, and the good options look tempting.
A. K.
I quite agree with the ventilation issue with this place, the seatings area inside can be quite noisy and the smell on top of that can be overbearing. However, the coffee is top quality, staffs are very friendly and food is great. The waiting time is not worth it though, there are plenty other great cafe in the area. If it’s raining, don’t even bother waiting because they do no have under cover area.

Delicious food and gorgeous coffee. Will definitely be back to try more of their interesting dishes! Perfect brunch date place with someone truly special.
G.
Industry Beans is an absolute local favourite. With on-site coffee roasting facilities and an incredible range of single origin the coffee offering is impressive. The food is just as amazing and always high quality. With seasonal menus there’s always something new to try.
S. L.
Great food and great coffee. Lovely staff too. Really popular on weekends so if you’ve got a big group of people maybe call ahead to make sure there’s a table
R. M.
The meals were delicious and quite unique. And the coffee was really good, of course. A great place to introduce my mum to the Melbourne "magic" too ☕
J. M.
Great food, excellent customer service and coffee was good. I would have preferred it to be a tad stronger but the piccolo made up for it! Quite impressed how friendly service was. This was probably consistent across Melbourne cafes.
T. T.
ALWAYS one of the best coffee experiences in Melbourne. Had a ripping single origin and bought a bag of it to play with at home. Fantastic helpful and friendly service. Keep up the great work.
C. M.
Loved it. Food menu was diverse and unique with delicious seasonal ingredients. Coffee bubble tea was amazing
A. A.
Nice staff tasty and innovated food
C. D.
Delicious rose st blend. Tried it heaps at Industry Beans on little collins st, and Fitzroy. Both cafes have great service, baristas make very consistent coffee too. Now with the virus sitch I've ordered the blend online and it arrived at my doorstep so fast! Super convenient. I'l be doing this from now on and even order for family! Thanks guys
E. L.
This is one of the best coffee (long black) I have around Melbourne.
My suggested routine is find a nice Sunday morning, get up early and go to the Lune and line up for a nice croissant (or two), then come over here to get a coffee. Life is good! And guess what, afterwards you still have the entire Sunday to enjoy.
S. L.
Lovely place.
Always friendly staff and tasty food.
T. C.
Lovely staff and service beautiful set up and deeeeelicious coffee! Makes me want to write a great review! Thanks guys ✌️
A. S.
Amazing food, great vibe, and a hip place to hang out. If you're in the area and want to grab a coffee I would highly recommend going to this place. It is a bit on the back streets but this adds to the atmosphere.
G. L. (.
Great food. Great service. I have heard from a lot of people that their food are pretty beautiful but the taste is not good. That's totally not true, I have taken the meal this morning, the food was absolutely awesome whatever looking and taste. I will definitely recommend to my friends.
A. R.
No denying the food and coffee is great, but it's just too busy. We had to queue for a table, and others were getting seated before us even though we were there longer. But once you are seated, rarely are you dissapointed here!
c.
Coffee was amazing and the food was so good!
J. L.
Beautifully presented (insta - worthy) food that tastes as good as it looks. Also an impressive range of single origin coffees described in detail on their drinks menu. There are some delicious vegetarian options that pack a punch in terms of flavour and variety of textures (we had the fruit sashimi and porcini mushroom dish today), and didn't leave with that feeling you sometimes get when eating veggo that you're still not fully satisfied.
S. P.
Coffee is amazing, I was on the hunt for some new beans for brewing at home, went in to industry beans and the guy who served me was very helpful, guided me through all the different beans they had on offer and pointed me in the right direction, have to say the coffee when I got home was top cafe quality! highly recommended
K.
Good vibes, amazing food and coffee :)
F. H.
Not as good as I had hoped but am spoilt in Melbourne. The coffee was amazing - as you would expect from a roaster - and the food was good but not incredible. 4/5 because the coffee was up there with the best I have had in Melbourne.
S. D.
Pretty cool place. Menu is not overwhelming but I mean that in a good way. Simply yet with enough for a difference that it stands out from many other. Great atmosphere and the staff a curious and attentive . Parking is a shocker but that’s typical for the area. I’ll return for sure
E. K.
Love the bubble tea coffee!
L. W.
Great service, fantastic coffee (best I've had in Melbourne with alternative milks) and food was wonderful. Highly recommended.
- Fiztroy Street oat cap
- Kenyan Gold Mesh
- Porcini Mushrooms
- Polenta Chips
- Omelette, pumpkin bread, side avo
5/5 can't wait to come back!
J. M.
Amazing! I had the "El Aguila" coffee from El Salvador served long black. Strong flavours with notes of amaretto. Although I didn't eat, the food looks wonderfully presented!
D.
Best breakfast we've had in Melbourne this trip. Friendly service, happy staff and a really nice atmosphere. These guys. They steam a good ham
U. H.
Lovely spot. Excellent coffee and food, although the portion sizes are on the small size and will struggle to fill you up. Highly recommend the veggie crisps!
N. T.
A excellent if not pretentious breakfast offering. Rice pudding was texturally amazing, but lacked flavor. Great atmosphere and friendly staff who both inform and suggest great offerings. Well done team
D. P.
I have been coming here about once a month for a year now, and I have never had a bad meal, or a bad coffee. You could argue that it's a little overpriced, but when the food is layed out in front of you, the quality of the ingredients and attention to detail is unmistakable.
They roast their own beans, and their blends are favoured by some of the top cafes in Melbourne, and even as far abroad as Hobart. You can see elements of their roasting machines in the cafe, and the whole place has a fun warehouse-y vibe. The weekend crowd can be a little busy and a little pretentious, but if you can find a less busy time to go, the staff will take the time to ensure you have a great meal, and a better coffee.
L. K.
Another one of Melbourne's great examples of cafe culture. Excellent coffee and food, both of which industry beans have injected with the typical and much loved Melbourne willingness to experiment. Definitely one to check out!
D. H.
Not terrible, but it wasn't the Melbourne experience I've come to love. Decent (if slightly overpriced) food, good coffee combined with average / slightly arrogant service and a horde of over-the-top hipsters with SLRs snapping pics of their lattés all around. Would've probably done better somewhere a bit less 'famous'.
R. D.
Oh my goodness, the cinnamon brioche was amazing & the coffee was so so good. Only wished the service had been a bit better, it wasn't very busy when we were there but I ended up having to go and ask for someone to take our order..
V. H.
One of my favorite places for coffee and food in Melbourne. The coffee is consistently amazing, and the food is fantastic. It is always difficult to try and pick, because they all sound and look amazing!
C. S.
great outdoor seating place directly in the sun with great coffee. would recommend to others and would come back next time
B. L.
This place is amazing. The coffee usually excellent wasn't on point as usual but I think it was a fluke in the roasting, it was inconsistent. The porridge was perfecto and always top notch service. See you in Nov!
F. H. L.
The layout of the place is nice. I like the style of it. Went here for breakfast and the food and coffee were great. I recommend it to anyone looking for some good food and coffee.. the lunch rush can be super busy.
D. Z.
Great coffee, very original breakfasts. They take their coffee very seriously which is awesome. The breakfasts are not anything like you would expect your comfort food to be, its more of an asian fusion. So be warned if what you want is confort food for breakfast skip this place. Might not be for everyone but their creative twists for breakfast was very interesting. The truffled egg seemed more like a salad, and the slow cooked short rib had a sweet and sour sauce that changed everything. Stll very recomended.
g. h.
They have the most amazing coffee and food plus amazing customer service and great ambience. A combination that created an experience that is hard to forget. I strongly recommend this place to anyone that is looking for a great cafe!
S. L.
We loved the coffee and enjoyed the food very much!
A. P.
Seasonal menu is always outstanding. Quick and friendly service, and the coffee is brilliant even by Melbourne standards.
I haven't been disappointed by anything I have eaten (or drunk) here yet.
Highly recommend a visit.
M. Z.
Coffee was excellent, but the food read better than it ate. Staff were a little standoffish. Some of the food didn’t taste of what it had on the menu. Solid.
P. M.
Chill vibes, friendly staff and awesome food.
Pineapple mousse is great
T. T.
Attention to detail is not one of their strongest points here. Given dirty glassware and cutlery. Service was great from a particular staff member answered all our questions. We were greated and seated promptly with coffee order taken on the spot but then left for a while and had to call for a waiter to take our food order. Meal was ok nothing to complain there. Ordered another round of coffee and given the wrong type of coffee. Overall wouldn't come back as we felt that we had to call for service from other waiter. The waiter who we were impressed with the most was travis, his service was great couldnt fault him his honesty was much appreciated.
V. C.
Good coffee, great food. Love the ambience and decor of this place. I always bring visitors here and it never disappoints. Can get pretty busy though.
D. D. S.
Great coffee, a bit of a wait on weekends and holidays for dine in. Great wait staff and good food
K. O.
So far the best coffee i have ever had
T. S.
Super impressed with these guys. I haven't been to the cafe (yet) but I regularly purchase their beans online will continue to do so for the following reasons: fresh roasts, good prices, fast dispatch, free postage. And of course, great coffee
M. C.
Yah you gotta try and eat your way through this menu guys and gals! So many good mood food you’re going to be flying the highway of health. And then there’s their coffee blends, such a great place.
C. W.
Very hip, with a nice outside seating and inside cool industrial interior. The coffee is a serious art here as well as food with ingredients combined in an almost high-cusine fashion.
J. T.
A most interesting breakfast. Excellent coffee
F. i.
Really nice little cafe just near Brunswick st. Great food options, had a bit of food envy over the smashed avo offering. Great coffee, interesting cold drip options, if that is your thing.
T. W.
really gutted to post a below average review because the food and coffee was great!! Service however was bordeline terrible!!! initial coffee order was wrong thereafter went and repeated order only to be sent wrong coffees again!!!
B. J.
Why?
- friendly service. Attentive, refilling water, helpful
- eclectic choice of food - a bit different than most brunch places
- multiple coffee choices - the flat white was great
- the omelette was amazing and the bread to fight for
P. L.
Coffee was great, but the food is seriously overpriced and under portioned. If all you like to do is take pretty Instagram photos of your food this place is great, however don't expect to leave with a full stomach or wallet.
R. C.
Great food, great coffee, but a little bit expensive for what you get, plus a 10% surcharge at the weekend is a bit ridiculous when the prices are already on the high side! That being said, excellent food and coffee!
D. R.
I get a coffee subscription from Industry Beans and i could not be happier. Their prices are quite competitive for the high quality coffee they produce and FREE shipping. Not only that but their staff have been super helpful every time i have had an issue or needed help.
J. T.
lways looks promising ..... but I missed the fanfare.
Always good to re-visit Industry Beans, it always look promising from the outside; not on the main drag, laneway feels, warehouse/industry look, whitewashed, outdoor eating area, queue of patrons waiting for their tables and take away coffee. Even more impressive inside, coffee roaster, long bench coffee bar, communal table, etc. I can see the attractiveness of the place.
But we are here for their coffee and food.
On the food side, all good but nothing stood out and memorable.
On the coffee, we've had a few extraction, all were well made, again I was expecting 5 * with the many cafes that are using their coffee beans, but it's just not there.
Hhmmmm, what did I missed?
A. P.
Always love industry. Menu is amazing and tasty. Blue swimmer crab salad, coffee rubbed steak, all super yum! Coffee is great too.
M. N.
Love the soy lattes here but really keep returning for the wonderful, friendly service provided by the amazing staff!! Big thank you to the staff for making such a huge effort to get to know their patrons! Best service we've ever encountered in a coffee shop! 😊😊😊💖💖 💖
Z. S.
Best milk coffee in Melbourne, I'm a fussy Flat White drinker. I like my coffee smooth with character in the flavour. IB Seasonal blends never fail to hit the spot.
T.
Very nice decor and indoor setting. I enjoyed the coffee - although my girlfriend was less impressed. Ordered the smashed avo, everything was great but the avo wasnt entirely ripe. Would come back again
H. R.
Very friendly people here. We came here with our dog, the staffs came to say hi to our dog and bring it the water. The food here is beautiful and tasty! Try the dessert, if you need to post a photo on your instagram
F. S.
Tasty well presented breakfast food. Seating a little squashy for a busy Saturday morning. Good parking. May have to wait for a seat. We had a long pleasant breakfast catch-up with friends.
C. Y.
Very nice place for brunch
H. C.
I was a bit late for food, so keep in mind this review only reflects the coffee side of the business but considering that's about 99.99% of what they're known for, I think you can forgive me.
I was on a bit of a filter binge the day I stopped in. I'd already had a couple of pour-overs prior and I wasn't going to stop there. This time however, I was going for the Aeropress. It did take me about 10mins to come to that conclusion though because I was reading through their little coffee book for quite some time. I was so impressed with the coffee that I ended up buying a bag to take home.
C. L.
Great food at an old abandoned warehouse conversion. I had the wagyu burger, which was excellent. I also coveted my neighbour's fried chicken burger. Coffee was also good, albeit slightly on the bitter side.
J. d. J.
Recently went with a friend for brunch. Service excellent food to die for, had the most amazing meal and herbal tea to go with it. Would definitely recommend anyone to try while visiting Melbourne.
J. L.
It's a hit-or-miss here. Been here a couple of times and had had good coffee before. Unfortunately, not today. The filter was bad and the wait staff attitude was so outwardly insincere. Being one of the bigger establishments in Melbourne, I hope they would work more on their consistencies.
D. T.
Fabulous breakfasts, great coffee
A. E.
Favourite place for coffee. Menu is to die for.
A. P.
Great service, so much variety in quality coffee and good food. Had the cold drip + cold brew... With a take away bubble coffee and peanut butter brownie ❤️
E. C.
This place is always on point with their coffee. Unreal breakfasts. One of Melbourne’s finest cafes.
M. S.
Best flat white I've had so far! Great place to meet friends for brunch. Service is quick and everyone was friendly. There's also an art market nearby.
A. G.
The meals here are amazing. The dusted cinnamon brioche is quite possibly the best presented meal I've ever received, and it tasted great to boot.
A. B.
Lovely little coffee shop in Fitzroy, just around the corner from the Rose st markets. Stop in and check them out!
S. T.
Amazing coffee and espresso in this little hidden gem. The staff are very knowledgeable and friendly and the selection of beans and drinks are wonderful. Highly recommended to give this a try!
S. P.
Excellent take away coffee, great customer service
S.
Highly recommend getting a coffee here or sit down and grab some breakfast. Warm/clean ambiance with friendly staff. Breakfast ranges from standard grub to some hip options.
Y. C.
Cafe and breakfast/brunch taken to another level
M. K.
This cafe is my 2nd office. The staff make me feel really comfortable to do a few hours of work on my laptop (free wifi), drink their delicious coffee and get through their ever-changing menu. Loving their hoe cakes and steel cut oats at the moment!
R. T.
Great coffee and interesting brunch options
K. J.
Amazing food and coffee, gluten free no problem.
C. C.
Very busy cafe. Good service.
G. S.
Great setting & Good food & Gorgeous coffe
A. T.
Amazing coffee, fantastic food and really friendly staff. I had the omlette off the Autumn menu as well as a cracking Ethiopian SO espresso.... Aaaallllllll of the blueberries! Thanks Industry Beans 👌
F. H.
Great coffee. Food is good, but with so many great cafes on offer in Melbourne I can't say I ever leave feeling amazed by what I've eaten here.
N. T.
Comfortable and friendly staff. Generally will pop by everytime when their new season menu changed.
B. T.
The best coffee in Fitzroy. Try the cold brew on a hot day and take your server's advice on the appropriate bean. Also try the fruit sashimi (if available) for some very creative preparations. Smashed avo is perfect.
T. K.
Knowledgeable friendly staff. The epitome of a trendy Melbourne coffee experience. Although I didn't eat there, the food looked stunningly plated!
H. C.
very good coffee and friendly staff:)
V. B.
Cool ambience, delicious coffee, unique dishes. Expect to wait on a weekend. The Avo Smash was delicious, comparable to Monk Bodhi Dharma. Would definitely bring family for a nice brunch outing!
P. A.
Quintessential Fitzroy breakfast experience. Creative brunch options in a chic industrial space, hipsters for days and coffee so strong it could knock you over. Great!
L. C.
A little slice of industrial paradise hidden round the corner from rose st artist market. Food here is Thai leaning and flavourful. Their coffee is exceptional.
J. R.
Food and coffee yum, service was a bit 'melbourne' for my taste. Food and coffee menu unnecessarily complex, but no less delicious. Cozy vibe outside in the vine-lined courtyard.
D. J.
Great coffee. The food might be a bit artisan for some peoples tastes. However the food is of a high quality and the service is very good.
M.
Industry Bean was great. Cool venue and a great menu and not to forget 🙌🏻 the coffee ☕️ Fitzroy is a great spot for brunch and a stop off at the Rose Street Market afterwards is a must.
M. H.
Had a very enjoyable breakfast here recently. Food was tasty, fresh and interesting. Coffee was excellent. Prices reasonable. Recommended.
S. F.
The coffee was okay, good environment, food amazing, exotic flavors .. only thing lacking was the service a bit slow and it compromise the whole experience.
A. N.
Great place for a weekend brunch and they've got very interesting items on their menus which is worth giving a go.
My wife tried the compressed watermelon with chia seeds with passion fruit panna cotta and she loved it. I had the wild mushrooms with poached egg and polenta chips and although not as exciting as the compressed watermelon, it was still pretty tasty and a bit of a change from the regular eggs on toast.
We saw some one try the vegetable chips on Instagram once and ordered that as well. The mayo that came with the chips were creamy and flavoursome and the chips were delish.
Will definitely be back again to try something else on the menu. And oh, wife had an almond chai latte and it was divine. 👍
J. C. (.
Food is amazing, coffee is hot and full of flavour! Will deserve 5 stars with a smile from the staff ... definitely worth the stop!
S. L.
It’s worth more than 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
J. F.
Pretty good but the food didn't blow us away like some other places with similar hipster cred. Coffee menu, as shown, is pretty intense!
C. W.
You might come here for the outstanding coffee, but the food is off the charts. One of the best breakfasts I have ever had. Unmissable.
I.
If you want a breakfast experience go here! Delicious food in a nice atmosphere situated in a quiet part of Fitzroy
I had a better coffee experience at their little Colin’s street location though
