This place drew us in while driving around Eaton mall Oakleigh. Massive selection of sweet treats. We tried a few types of Baklava and they were all so so good. I also loved the vanilla filled Baklava (forgot the name) which was perhaps my favourite. Rhe staff were very helpful particularly the nice lady at the counter who gave us reccomendations. Trust me you will be confused with so many choices.

Having been turned down due to the short notice period by everyone else for our daughter’s 4th, we found Nicos cake online.. we ordered the chocolate with hazelnut fudge…it was by far the best cake that we have had in Australia…it was absolutely!!! Delicious 😋 😋😋 the chocolate cake was moist and the fudge hidden within felt like a match made in heaven!! A HUGE thank you to Sophia and all the staff at Nikos Cakes in Oakleigh.. I organised the most beautiful Baby Shower cake and it was beyond our expectations..complete with little booties on top of the cake. I actually cannot wait for another celebration so I can use Nikos Cakes again… Can’t thank you enough .

Food looked great, however looks aren't enough as much of the food lacked flavour. The coffee was sadly weak and was more akin to drinking warm milk. The lasagna looked amazing and had an ample fresh salad as a side, but similarly it was over salted and it tasted like it was barely seasoned with tomatoes. Lemon meringue tart was sweet with hints of lemon, which is good if you just like sweet however the tart wasn't tart enough for me and needed more lemon. Positively, the chicken and mushroom pie was delicious with a nice crust and generous with the cheese. Flat and with lots of chicken and mushroom it was delicious. Environment was modern, but not enough social distancing and mask wearing from the employees part as most either weren't wearing, or was only protecting their chins which is not enough, especially after the new outbreak of corona.

Nikos hosted us with a coffee and cake tasting and Sophia was very flexible and helpful with designing our perfect cake. Our final product was wonderful thank-you. Understaffed and the staff that are on aren’t engaged. No signs on their polices for seating (Eg wait, seat self for table service, order at counter) so I asked. Which is fine. Chose my seat and waited 15 mins to be approached by a staff member. Asked for water and a menu. Waiter put a menu and water on a tray. But needed to serve another customer their food first (which is fine). But rather than taking both and dropping mine on the way (one table over) they just went to the other table. Another member undid their set up and put the menu away. Overall not bad, just not a place to go until they get more staff. I left so I can’t speak for their food but it looked nice. Went directly across the road and after having some time to read their menu at the door, then was greeted and served by a lovely light humoured lady!

Omg! I never ever considered Nikos cafe for main meals. They were absolutely magnificent! Prices are great too. We couldn't get into Vanilla cafe, so we went to Nikos. They have a selected main menu of top favourite meals. I went for the moussaka. My friend opted for the chicken Parma. We were extremely happy with our meals. I think the moussaka was $19. A good price and portion to suit. The taste was incredible and very very authentic. I haven't tasted moussaka like this in 20 years. Nice simple and tasty like grandma's cooking. I had tried it at Vanilla cafe as my friend likes the steaks there, but I do not rate it as much as Nikos. Also, the portion size is much smaller and the price $10 more at around $29 from memory. I will most definitely be returning to indulge in the delicious moussaka. It is the best. The only thing I did not like is the dressing on the salad as I forgot to ask for no dressing. Top job guys. So glad that I tried your main meals and not just your desserts and coffee!😋😋😋😋😋 Went back Monday 13th January 2020 for a a quick dinner as I was feeling rather lazy to cook. The moussaka was nice but this time 50% was white sauce and the layer or mince and eggplant was minimal. Bit disappointed but will still order it again. Nikos kitchen staff, any chance you can keep the moussaka consistent and not 50% white sauce. Sadly there was little meat and eggplant on this occasion.

I have been on a Friday night for coffee and it was a great experience. The green tea and chai latte was awesome. We tried the Baklava and cheese cake, it was fresh and very tasty. I’ve been here twice and it’s an authentic Greek cafe! Greek sweets, Greek staff, Greek decor in a Greek suburb of Oakleigh! There is so much variety in desserts that you might feel guilty taking time out to choose! Staff are friendly and attentive and don’t mind a joke or two! Open till late so it’s a great place to hang out after dinner with the family! Has a decent size outdoor area which is dog friendly so perfect for afternoon coffees and cake too! I highly recommend the baklavas and black Forrest cake!

I am truly amazed by Nikos! I ordered my first cake in March 2019 for my 21st birthday and I was in love. Ordering the cake was very quick and straight forward, there was no issues with anything at all. If I had a question, I could just shoot a message when needed. Because I loved the cake so much I decided to order TWO more for two very special occasions — my mummas 50th birthday and my sister’s Baby Shower. All I can say is... WOW 😍 All the designs and colours I had asked for were made to perfection. They were also able to suggest me topping designs when I wanted to change something about the cake that I was unsure about. I can’t forget to mention how bomb the cake flavours were! Definitely for those with the biggest sweet tooth. I ordered flavours of: Chocolate Hazelnut (my 21st), Vanilla Caramel (mum’s 50th), and Vanilla Berry & Chocolate Caramel (sister’s baby shower). All were so delightful! Nikos has done so well for all my events and I’m so excited to order more in the near future. My family members always ask who made my cakes because of how great they are! So I have been coming to Nikos for a very long time, and in my opinion the quality of their cakes and sweets are fantastic. We don't go anywhere else for our bday cakes. However, if you want your cake to be as fresh as possible, make sure you place an order for the cake a day before and ask for their largest size to ensure it is made from scratch( they don't make the large size until its been ordered). Otherwise they pump out so many cakes in the regular size that they may have sat around for a few days. I never sat down and had coffee here until last night but I was not very happy with the quality of the coffee and the table and seats looked like they sorely needed to be changed. The tables were so old, the glass on top looked cloudy and dirty from years of use and cleaning. Overall I give this place a solid 4 stars because the sweets and cakes are some of the best around imo. Try the continental cake or the galata bureko, I recommend.

Wedding cake- fantastic! We ordered our wedding cake from Nikos cakes about a year before our big day, they were helpful and gave great advice, I didn't need to stress about anything. On the day the cake arrived as planned and was perfect. Everyone enjoyed the taste of the cake and commented on how lovely it tasted and it was 'the best tasting wedding cake they had ever had'. Changing our review from a 5 to a 3 star. Cakes are great, have volume and not crumbly, perfect sweetness and great designs. However, each time we order a cake, something is missing when have gone in to pickup the cake. Last year our biscuits were forgotten. This year our candles were not packed.

Hate it that smoking is still allowed at their outdoor seating and if the wind has its way, the smoke blows unto the indoor eating area - can't enjoy my sweets in peace! So if you're not a smoker then get your desserts takeaway. The amount of smoking outside of this place tarnishes the quality of their cakes.

I had my wedding cake made and delivered on October 12th, 2013. It was amazing. The cake looked exactly how we wanted it to, tasted amazing and we received many compliments about it. The customary thick wedding cake icing was the first one I actually enjoyed and could eat rather then the traditional large hunk of white mess left at the end. Would highly recommend this store for any cake requirements but as with anything, if you want quality, and you want something that stands out and approaches edible art, expect to pay for it.

Perfect on a sunny day to sit and enjoy a coffee and sweet cake (there is a large range and you are sure to find a favourite and for those who are gluten free or vegan you will find several sweet options). The outdoors area is like stepping into a lovely plateía. It is a place to converse, be it gossip or business!

However the store was very busy and loud at a level that made conversation (even with the person sitting directly next to me) very difficult. Went to the newly opened Nikos Fairfield last Friday, Saturday and Yesterday (Sunday). Everything was nice from the service, greek coffee, chicken souvlaki, wagyu beef burgers .... BUT the Baklava and Galatobouriko have now gone to the top of my list as the best I have ever had anywhere, and I'm a greek with a sweet tooth who gets around so I know my sweets! Amazing cakes, biscuits and desserts. My wedding cake was from here and it was the best cake I've ever eaten (and I'm picky when it comes to cake). However we did have some issues with the timing of the delivery. It was 2 hours late.

I have ordered several cakes for my son over the past few years and each and every time the team at Nikos Cakes does not fail to deliver.. The Buzz Lightyear cake for his second birthday and the circus elephant cake for his christening have been amazing and taste fantastic also and are a talking point long after the event has ended.. Nikos is always a little busy, and for good reason, the cakes are great and they do excellent drinks (tea, coffee, milkshakes) but the service suffers a little as they try to keep up with the constant flow of customers.
