They have the best soy latte ever! Very friendly staff as they helped me to choose a moka pot I can use at home. I’ll be going back to buy fresh ground coffee every now and then. Great coffee roaster indeed as it is their 80th anniversary this year!

The best coffee in Melbourne hands down. The friendly staff served an extremely flavoursome latte and even threw in a delicious amaretti with the coffee. Quists Coffee are my new go-to coffee roasters. Do yourself a favour and give them a go.

The staff is Extremely friendly & their coffee knowledge is Top Notch. The beans are Amazing & I Love the special ones that come out every once in a while. I happen to come into Melbourne and stumbled across Quist quite by accident. It was coffee time and today wanted to try it with soy milk due to a little reaction to cows milk recently. The coffee was great and couldn't sit and drink as this place has not seating - totally takeaway. You can actually buy your coffee beans from them as well which is nice if you enjoy what they have on offer. The look of the place is fun and interesting, something from a century ago. There is also a small retail part to this place where you can pick up an eclectic tea / coffee item for that someone special. Staff are very helpful and seem to know many of their regulars by name. Wheelchair friendly. Kid friendly. Pram/stroller accessible. Reasonable parking. Dietaries catered for. Takeaway food available.

Probably one of the best coffee shops in Melbourne. The quality of their coffee beans puts a lot of other coffee shops to shame. I love the cute fitout of the shop, it's like stepping back in time a hundred years. Also doubles as a little retail boutique, with so many items I want to purchase for home and a great place to buy unique gifts (all coffee/tea related of course). Very friendly staff, I think its a family business? Highly recommend.

I was searching for a gift to a friend and coffee was of the top items. Found Quists on google maps and I had to go there to check. The smell and the variety, delicious. Have a espresso, ask questions, buy a blend and grind immediately.

They claim to be founded in 1938 and to be Melbourne’s first coffee roasters. While experience does not always means expertise, Quists proves that they are experts in coffee making. They are possibly among the best coffee shops in Melbourne city. I ordered a skimmed Mocha. The aroma, the taste and the temperature all were just right. I usually prefer my mocha extra hot (167-170*), but I forgot to ask and the coffee still tasted good.

Small shop with a lot of soul. First and foremost they make a nice coffee, nice as in its like a hug for your taste buds and a holiday for your brain. Mmmmm. But seriously. There is just the right amount of good coffee accessories there, a range of means to buy (ground or not), a very limited range of snacks, because you go there for the coffee. and someone who you can watch making the coffee and its like he enjoyed making it. Best of all, even though they were busy the lady there was happy to talk about the blends, sell me the right accessory for my needs (not the most expensive) and seemed to also love their job :)

Best place for takeaway coffee in the area, if not Melbourne! Full of flavour, aromatic, and not too bitter. They don't skimp and make it weak like so many other places do. AND you get a biscotto! :D

My husbands from Melb & his Gram always had Quists coffee on her old gas stove. The smell was devine as you walked in the front door. We bought it for many yrs on our trips down there from Mackay Qld and online I think. It still remains my favourite coffee of all time. The packaging has not changed I see. What Id love to know & clear up in my mind & memory is that I remember a bigger Quists coffee shop from our honeymoon 39yrs ago. I recall a long rather narrow shop with a bar like atmosphere down one side where one could sit & have a coffee & there were the biccies on plates along the bar & a few small tables & chairs along other side by the windows. I feel it was in an arcade. Have you any photos of this shop? Id love to see them as I loved it! Bobs Gram was a Mrs Crook. Im sure youd find her name in old records.
