Spectacular burgers/sandwiches, especially the grilled chicken. Loved the chat potatoes on the side. Great coffee. Really appreciated that the staff were happy to make adjustments for dietary needs and double checked everything.

This is our local Cafe, we love this place so much as it has a little bit for everyone. We come here quite often to have breakfast and lunch dates with the family or friends all the time. It's kid friendly and the coffee and food is amazing!

Great little cafe that has some homey charm. Owned and run by a lovely young couple who also bake and cook all of the delish food. Nice outdoor area out the back too.

This cafe is an absolute joy. The decor and atmosphere has a cute and quirky country charm, with a courtyard and several rooms with tables, quirky mismatched chairs and adorable crockery. The staff are a delight, always a big smile and very friendly and accommodating. The food is good quality delicious and wholesome food. The burgers are served with little golden roasted potatoes instead of chips, yum! They also have vegan options both sweet and savoury which you don’t see in many country cafes. The kids meals are cheap ($5-$8) and good portion sizes. LOVE THIS PLACE!

We drive over an hour just to visit The Tin Plate for food. All the dishes we've tried have been great, good portion sizes, well seasoned and best of all - arrives hot! Special shout out to the amazing chat potatoes. Staff are always super friendly, gives us that feeling of nothing is too hard, and as an extra bonus, the coffees are perfectly made in strength and temperature. Almost tempted to move closer so The Tin Plate can be our local!

The Tin Plate from the outside doesn’t appear to be anything special. However, the moment you go inside it changes your perspective. The smell of the food be most importantly the taste is perfect. The staff are very accomodating and the facilities are perfect for a family with 2 young children! The toilet has a changing station which is a big plus! Overall, the drive here was worth it! I wish more place were like this!

Very nice coffees... long black and soy latte were both nice. Darn fine sausage roll and a pretty good toasty rounded out Sunday morning snacks. Staff were friendly and easy going too.

We visit often for Brunch or and a late lunch. Nothing there for vegans per say but they will go out of their way to put something nice together anyway. Friendly home atmosphere, nicely decorated set up with the kitchen open and in full view of one of the dining rooms. There is a children's area which is a nice home-spun room with bench tables to seat about 12 people comfortably, a front room with tables that look out onto Inglis Street, a large dining room next to the kitchen, a cute courtyard at the back, clean bathroom, and room to sit on the street out front. The host is always busy and always friendly.

Friendly service, nice atmosphere, kids play corner. Had a beef burger and partner had a chicken schnitzel burger and it was way beyond expectations. Best burger I've had for ages. Worth a trip a ballan just for this burger. There were animal noises coming from our table it was so delicious. Comes with perfect potatoes too. Now we know where to stop in Ballan, we'll be going there a lot.

For is delicious. A little disappointed they are the only cafe I've ever been to that does not give a loyalty stamp for tea. They will only stamp my card if I order coffee. A bit petty and rather a pity of your a loyal tea drinker. So I ditched the card and some of the warm fuzzy feelings I would otherwise have felt. All was not lost. Right next door there is cafe that does not discriminate between loyal coffee drinkers and tea drinkers

I stopped off for a break from cycling and to have lunch. Their in-house chunky beef pies are a true treat. Two dining rooms (it's a converted house) and a sit-up counter under the verandah out front. Coffee and pie both excellent. I didn't check out what other meals are available as I only wanted a snack.
