Comments of Bourke Street Bakery Barangaroo
F.
Bought Beef bacon and cheese pie, it was soooo yummy!
Top of the pie was garnished with swirl led of mashed potato that has been caramelized (blowtorch?).
Sausage roll was good too.
A. Z.
My favourite coffee place in Sydney, I really love the oat cap - 4.5 stars.
In terms of the pastry, the filling in the almond croissant is good - however this makes the pastry more soft and bit denser. I was disappointed that the pastry was also cold & chewy instead of crisp and fluffy - 3 stars.
G.
Excellent customer service and delicious pastry. Their VEGAN pie is simply perfect. The almond croissant was huge and filled with almond praline. Must try: the ginger little tart, I could have eaten 10 of those!
A. K.
Love this place. My love for bakery items is undying. There are so many good things to try. I really like the pies, rolls, tarts and the coffee here. Everything is fresh but runs out quickly
Q. M.
The pork & fennel sausage roll and beef brisket, red wine & mushroom pie were great! Flaky texture with good flavors inside. The sausage roll came with some tomato sauce on the side to give it some additional flavors. The beef brisket pie could have used some more seasonings inside, but it was still good overall. The almond praline croissant had some vanilla flavor and a good amount of almonds that worked well together. Impressed with the quality of the food. The pain au raisin wasn't bad, but the flavors didn't work that well for me. My friend ordered one and it reminded me of a cinnamon roll (not as soft) with raisins that were slightly bitter at times. The lemon curd tart (not pictured) had a strong lemon flavor that was too overwhelming for my taste, but my friend enjoyed it. Very fruity and a bit sour/tangy like real lemons.
E. K.
There's a reason this place always has long lines- they're the best and everyone wants more! Tastiest coffee in Barangaroo and amazing pastries. Chocolate Tarts are the best I've ever had. Staff are also super friendly. Thank you
P. B.
The vegan pie is amazing ! Their other pastries are really tasty and fresh. Service is friendly. Prices are very reasonable.
They don't have any flavoured syrup for the coffee.
Otherwise the coffee was really nicely made.
Will definitely come back for a coffee and a quick snack !
C. C.
Pies were absolutely packed. Come and get a single bread that they have and you will never forget it. Staff were awesome too.
N. H.
They serve great coffee and pastries, perfect for warming you up during winter. Environment was clean and cool, making for a wonderful dining experience.
Staff were also friendly and assisted us in our orders and recommended some local delights for us to try.
Do note that some items such as their lamingtons are only available during certain periods of the year and at some branches only.
J. E.
Delicious pastries, tarts, sausages rolls, pies and other goodies!
You cannot go wrong at Bourke St Bakery.
The little chocolate tarts are amazing!
The coffee is good too, you may need to line up during peak times but it is worth it.
E. C.
Picked up my order on a Tuesday in the morning, the place was still quiet and cabinet full of pastries. Got my walnut and carrot cake, ginger brûlée, apple and rhubarb muffin and cranberry and fig sourdough.
Everything was divine, loved the sourdough and especially the walnut and carrot cake, so moist yet light and not too sweet.
M. W. (.
Love coming here for coffee or pastries. The smell is amazing as soon as you step inside. They have coffee, bottled drinks, cakes and tarts (including my favourite ginger creme brulee). The line moves fairly quickly even if it appears long. Limited seating so I try and go outside of the peak lunch period.
F. Y.
Delicious curry veg pie, beef and mushroom pie was good, however a little disappointed with the “flat” hot crossed bun. It was toasted or shall I say flatten.... ketchup was charged without telling you, even though we didn’t used it. Coffee was good. Would go back to try their sweet items next time. Cute place in a commercially dense setting.
C. C. R.
Crowded? Yes, Good price? Yes, Good taste? Yes, Worth to try? Absolutely.
I really love this bakery. A little space on the inside, more seats outdoor with plenty selection of breads, pies, and even cakes. Just a piece of warm ham and cheese croissant and a hot skinny latte had already made my day.
Good place, good service, good taste, good price, this place own it all.
M. M.
A fabulous bakery and coffee shop located in the heart of Barangeroo. A very strong recommend from me!!!
The shop itself is small, busy, and a little cramped... all factors easily overcome by the fabulous coffee, great selection of bakery goods and fabulous customer service. The lady who was on the counter when we were there was very helpful, singing along to the songs played in the shop and was clearly just happy to work there.
Honestly was a fabulous coffee experience. A certain return back to here from me!!!
C. M.
.......mmmmmmm...first time try long time look...I had the pork and fennel sausage roll and let me tell ya 😋 it was!!!! Put it in my snout good!!!!...that thing was amazing ... !!!PORK ME PORK ME PORK ME !!!!!don't change the recipe 😋 !!!who's a dirty pig .who's a dirty 🐖 🐷 🐽 🐗 🐖 ❤❤❤❤❤❤🥳
L. K.
Really good coffee. I'm fussy about my coffee as I used to be a barista. This place makes good coffee and they also have yummy sausage rolls (I'm hooked 🤭).
Really friendly staff too, ☆☆☆☆ for me. Thank you!
B. S.
Stopped in here for a coffee while exploring Barangaroo. It was busier than the other cafes - always a good sign. The coffee was good, made just right. The staff were friendly and efficient. Even though it was busy our order arrived promptly. The menu looked good as well. The pies looked especially delicious. If we had been looking for breakfast this would have been the place! Great little bakery!
A. H.
Great little shop right on the wharf. The food and coffee are very good, plus the staff handles the morning chaos beautifully. I have had the ham, cheese, and tomato croissant and the spinach, mushroom, and goat cheese quiche, and both were high quality. Plus this place has great prices. A must try while in Sydney.
J.
Can be hard to get a table at lunch time as there are only a few tables but love coming here for a sausage roll or pie especially in the cooler months!
Chocolate raspberry muffin is definitely a must have!
C. B.
Order online Catering and had to cancel due to lockdown - they’re enfundes quickly and came through fast when we ordered again this week. All packaged up nicely and tasted amazing.
J. D.
The beef brisket and mushroom pie was delicious (as usual 💕), though the base could have been more crispy. Cappuccino that I ordered wasn't too milky and the coffee flavour adequate. Though the temperature was a bit higher than expected when I received it. Aside from this, customer service was excellent and goods at an affordable price despite the surrounding, overpriced cafes.
N. K.
The Bourke street backery is a must go place and you must try the ginger creme brulee.
I tried from other shops but they have the best and always sold out so need to be there before it runs out.
B. (. B.
Chocolate croissant was 4/10 I hardly had any chocolate in my croissant. The croissant was good but could have been fresh. Service was quick and store was packed.
Just wish it contained more chocolate..
N. S.
It’s a famous Sydney place and still worth the reputation - top quality
G. T.
5 star on coffee but the Avocado Smash 😳 Gooey, without texture, and average taste.
I'd call it Avocado Blend.
V. G.
We are here almost every 2nd weekend to grab coffee and quick breakfast. The service is quick and efficient. The baristas are always friendly. Their sausage roll and beef pies we get is made fresh daily and taste great.
T. C.
Sydney donuts this is the place. I had been given recomendations which we did stick to but staff talked about the different ways the donuts are made choux or yeast risen. Dispaly is beautiful, store is so spotless. Highly recommend it!
G.
Great coffee and chickpea rolls.
Not many seats but very lonely
P. G.
Friendly helpful staff, great baked goods and coffee, excellent location.
T. M.
Great pies (we tried the chicken and the beef pies) lovely flakey pastry and generous filling. Shared a cheeky sausage roll with the husband. Great coffee to.
M. K.
Foods are delicious, staff are frienly. A great bakery for a quick bite especially for pie lovers.
M. C.
Chocolate tart is divine, and worth getting each and every time. Staff were wonderful, I wanted to purchase a non refrigerated bottle of water instead they were able to give some warm water. No charge. Customer service at its best.
T. O.
Bourke St not on Bourke - not the range of the original but still super! My fav is the carrot cake
D. C.
The ginger brûlée tart is terrific!!
A little reminder - please enjoy the tart there! The brûlée will melt in this kind of hot weather.
B. H.
Great Gourmet pâtisserie with a modern twist, had a coffee which was up there with Campos coffee and and a traditional egg and bacon roll. The bread and sauce used made the meal special
B. H.
The good coffee and really nice food. The brulee ginger tart and flourless choc cake are a real treat. Positve atmosphere and great location next to the water as well.
J. T.
Pork sausage roll was really good but service at the counter left a lot to be desired. Ginger creme brulee tart is worth a try but good for sharing!
E. S.
Amazing pie from Bourke Street Bakery! Very satisfied. I tried the chicken, sweet potato and pea pie. The pastry was crispy, the filling was perfectly seasoned and delicious. For $6 it was a great lunch!
S. Y.
Great beef pies served hot. Their iced coffee is also pretty nice
A. C.
Fast and efficient service. The aroma of freshly baked tarts and bread really tingles your senses as you walk through the door. Their tarts are absolutely delicious. Worth every dollar spent.
K. E.
If you don't like croissants, first of all you're a monster, and second of all this place isn't for you. The wonderful breads, delicate pastries, and exceptional sausage rolls make this a great spot and a fantastic chain. The B'roo store is no exception. The coffees are also very popular with good reason: they're more than decent.

Friendly and fast service, delicious pies and coffee. The pastries at Bourke Street Bakery and flaky and one of the best we've had. Love the Barangaroo spot to sit in the sun and watch the ferries come in and out.
B. W.
Top service from the team of friendly staff, a wide range of sweet and savoury goods and excellent coffee makes this a great spot to visit in Barangaroo .
N.
Friendly staff..very good pies and pastries. Good place for coffee too.
B. D.
Sausage rolls and croissants here at 10/10
W. L.
I’m a regular customer to this place, it is my favourite place for pies in Sydney, their Beef mushroom pie is ❤️
S. L.
Love the sausage rolls !!!! coffee was ok , but again I come here for bake goods !!!!!! <3
A. D.
Delicious food, delicious coffee, cool vibe (weird pillar in the middle of the store, but hardly their fault!), friendly staff and great prices. As an office worker in Barangaroo, this is a regular haunt. Whether it's a morning caffeine hit, a pasty to power through the morning (their croissants are one of the best in Sydney) or a mid afternoon snack this place has it all. They'll make a coffee in any cup you bring (even a mug from the office kitchen) and their "sausage" roles are to die for (the eggplant & chickpea one is an absolute lip-smacker!).
H.
Love the pork and fennel sausage roll, generous and flavourful filling wrapped in a buttery, flaky pastry. The creme brulee tart is amazing as the cameralisation and the ginger flavour really balances the richness of the filling. The carrot cake is also pretty good. The rhubarb Danish is quite sweet but still delicious.
L. G.
Great atmosphere and overall experience. The baristas are great and make the best coffee ive had in a very long time. Very fast and efficient and coffee is on point. The red hair barista has amazing customer service. 5 stars
K. D. L.
This is the cafe bakery that has it all!
1. Service with a smile - check!
2. Delicious food - check!
3. Great coffee - check!
This is where I buy my morning coffee - they never fail.
Their pastries, pies and baked goods are famous in Sydney for a reason ... They are that good!
Get in early before 8.30am at Barangaroo, otherwise there will be a slight queue of about 5 minutes. Not a deal breaker but just giving you a headsup so you can plan your morning
M. K.
Always amazing! Have been going to Bourke st Bakery for almost ten years now and no matter where in Sydney it’s always absolutely perfect! The pastries (sweet and savoury), the bread loaves, the coffee, the staff; all second to none.
A. M.
Always good coffee and friendly staff
A. W.
The customer service here is absolutely exceptional - a huge shout out to Maria who went out of her way to help me out today! Five stars! Of course the food is incredible too :)
A.
Great team working there! The guy who served me was awesome 😎 Roast veggie salad was great, as were the two sourdough loaves (potato and rosemary and personal something loaf) I acquired and the chai latte ☕️ Would recommend this bakery for sourdough when out of reach of my go-to place in Katoomba.
J. B. A. C.
The location at Barangaroo has risen as the much favourite destination of the Sunday morning breakfast pilgrimage in Covid-19 afflicted times. The venue appeals to the sophistication of the city dweller, rather minimalist in the furnishings and indeed quite tidy in the display. The politeness of the staff members is simply admirable even when they had to deal with some feral specimens, clearly escaped from captivity, as we recall. Mosmanites now, we will always remember the Bourke Street Bakery at Barangaroo with great fondness.
T. R.
Absolutely love this place. Very hospitable service, cheap prices for it's location, easy to access by public transport and the owner is one of the nicest people I have met. He gave a free drink and also a lot of jokes. Plus if you sit outside or inside it has beautiful views of the water and some amazing music. Thank you so much for your service. <3
S. T.
Despite the good food, I noticed that they were trying to avoid giving tourists the good quality tomato sauce, and giving them the squeezable, takeaway tomato sauce instead. I am sure they charge extra for this, too. My husband, who may look like a tourist but is not, pulled them up on this and they quickly took out their original tomato sauce for him. Double standards like this are not okay.
Z.
Small coffee shop. Nice coffee and pastries. Especially the tarts and almond croissant.
J. W.
Been there couple of times, coffee is consistently average. Pork n fennel sausage roll on the dry side, ricotta lemon cake is nice though. All in all an ok place to hang out.
S. N.
Good location at Barangaroo. Limited outdoor seating and 2 tables inside. Not too busy on a rainy Saturday lunch. I had the chicken sausage roll and it was not very nice as it had a strange aftertaste. I also tried the beef pie and I didn't like the large chunks of meat. Overall was not very enjoyable. Staff were not very happy.
M. M.
I dropped in Bourke St Bakery on Sunday afternoon to get my dose of coffee and a filling eat. They did not disappoint. Approx 10 quid for a scrumptious smokey bacon & egg roll (usual bacon with TWO eggs neatly tucked in a bun) & a large capp. The coffee roast is really balanced yet has the punch.
I would prefer to eat-in but their seating arrangements cannot cope with the crowd they pull in.
I took away one star just cause I am not a fan of the BBQ sauce that comes with the roll. I prefer a chilli sauce or aioli, garlic would be perfect!
But I would surely drop in to try their pies and sausage rolls another time as they offer better quality and quantity than other barangaroo joints... Keep up the good work guys!
h. n.
Love the beef sandwich and best sausage rolls. Such great quality ingredients for very reasonably price menu items.
A. S.
If you haven't been, you absolutely must stop by the newest establishment of the Bourke Street Bakery. The same amazing pastries served hot and crusty alongside your favorite coffee blend. Don't miss out!
V. S.
Their Lamb Harissa and Almond is the best lamb roll I have eaten. It is not mince but slow cooked lamb pieces that just melt in your mouth. Very tasty.
A. M.
Great way to start the day. It gets really crowded though. Overall positive experience.
C. N.
We grabbed a quick breakfast at this small cafe while visiting in Sydney. I had a ham and cheese croissant and my boyfriend had a sausage rolls. Both were great.
M. M.
Not the best breakfast experience, but not the worst either...
The coffee is average and not worth writing home about. The breakfast pastry offerings....well they were just alright.
Would I go back again....unlikely, given the ample choice of breakfast places in the area.
q.
The lamb sausage roll was possibly the best breakfast I had whilst in Sydney - great flavours, texture and piping hot!
C. M.
Consistently good food and coffee, this is always our go to when we get off the reddy at Barangaroo. The eggplant, spinach and chickpea sausage roll is the best and would make me go vegetarian 😀.
7. N.
I don’t expect bakeries do good coffee. It’s average. Breads and pies are 💯 👍sorry no photo as I couldn’t hold myself to dig in 😆 go early always busy!
R. L.
Super good savory pastries and hot coffee. Their iced coffee come premixed with sugar, so don't expect a black cold drip, but those sausage rolls...so good.
J. T.
Bourke Street Bakery never disappoints. The chicken and cauliflower soup with Danish feta is a great hearty option to warm you up. Comes with amazing sourdough bread for dipping.
J. L.
Delicious meat pies! Great coffee too. The only disappointment was the tiny space with limited seating. But otherwise loved it.
H. O.
Slightly expensive, pre-made iced coffee is good on a hot day and the pastries are always good just like other Bourke St Bakeries. Lamb and Harissa sausage roll is always a good choice.
A. K. R.
Good coffee. But a bit disappointing that the sandwich was pre-made and pre-packed? I assumed they are made fresh every morning, packed and stored in the fridge. Would be great if it's freshly made to order.
A. S.
Bourke Street Bakery is a Sydney institution. Serving a large selection of artisan made bread, rustic pies, and sweet and savoury pastries, all made by hand, and freshly baked daily.
The bread selection is the heart of the bakery, with a range of delicious sweet and savoury sourdough loaves starring each day.
Bourke Street Bakery is just as committed to the helping the environment and the community as it is to making Sydney’s best pastries, breads, tarts and pies.
They are the first business in Australia to run a closed loop environmental waste system, where all organic waste is processed and converted into compost.
A community initiative, The Bread & Butter Project, wholesales artisan baked goods to Sydney food lovers channelling 100% of their profits into improving the lives of those less privileged in the community through training, employment and social support.
Also serving delicious sandwiches, quiches and a range of hot and cold drinks.
D. B.
I purely ❤️ This cafe- it’s coffee ☕️ 🤤 & sourdough is killer !! The smash avo🥑 which is the simplest breakky is alsooo so yummy, some magic factor & smiles behind the people working here 💖🤍❤️!!
B. P.
If you can’t get to Surry hills have a toasted sarni at Bourke St Bakery Barangaroo, recommend you sit inside as it can be a bit of a wind tunnel outside. Wagyu and beet sarni very good
M.
The best one cafe in Sydney: food, staffs and everything. It has got soul in this store at Barangaroo!
Will tap in every single day! xoxo
E. T.
Love this place! Amazing sourdough. To die for lamb sausage rolls. Dangerously delicious pastries. Quality coffee. Yum!😍
G. v. A.
The best!!!
Lamb sausage rolls to die for.
S. W.
Not much seating area and didn't have a bit selection of soft drinks but the coffee is pretty good.
C. B.
It was a bit cramped. But the food was nice. Coffee nice. Staff nice. The price was nice too. $3.50 for a decent croissant is not that bad for the city. I will come back
R. J. S. J.
Overrated. Pastries are ok and had better. The staff gave my order to somebody who came after me so i waited for another 10mins for my order. I’d rather go somewhere else.
H. J.
Potato bun and triple shot cappuccino is the perfect pre workout.
G. B.
They have very good pastries and it's a great place to have coffee and breakfast at in the morning. The coffee could be better (stronger). It's too light.
M. D.
Small in size but nice selection of food. Great coffee. Only ever seen it busy so can't be bad.
J. V.
Glad this chain came to Barangaroo. Love their pastries and coffee.
T. C.
Normally great food but today I bought a lemon tart and it tasted awful and fishy :(
D. S.
Very busy to get your morning coffee, but is well worth the wait to also grab some hot food. The beef and red wine pie is delicious!
T. S.
The Brisket and Mushroom Pie.... I'll have that any day of the week! Coffee is good. Range of hot and cold food options is great
S. B.
One of the best coffees in the city and the pies and sausage rolls are top notch, not to mention the bread!
B. N. (.
Always delicious pastries and well made coffee. Friendly and pleasant staff, counter service with tables outside undercover.
E. Z.
Sandwiches are delicious, coffee is great! Prices are surprisingly low.
C. T.
Good bread and coffee but why do you take a beautiful fresh croissant, cut in half and flatten it in a sandwich press? It’s a crime against croissants.
C. B.
Get the pork or lamb sausage rolls, a coffee (or one of their homemade lemonades) and a sweet treat like their chocolate or lemon tarts and you, my friend, will be set for the rest of the day.
A. P.
Great bakery and coffee, very popular so often a bit of a line!
S. R.
Good coffee, friendly staff , pasteries and snacks is awesome as well!
And they give discounts if you bring your own cup!
P. K.
Always busy but coffee and pie is good
A. K.
Good coffee ticked, Good savoury pies ticked, good sweet pastry ticked, good staff ticked, good view to harbour ticked.. Couldn't asked for more..Worth visiting.. Definitely coming back..Love Bourke Street Bakery
M. G.
Best muffins in Sydney - full of flavour and great consistency throughout. No boring bits.
K. R.
Love this place, great staff and great coffee. Only thing they're missing is oat milk!
L. R.
A crowded location with limited seating, but the pastries are very delicious. They also serve savory treats (pies, etc.)
H. T.
Great pastries but they're a bit pricy. Located in the new Barangaroo area, close to the headlands area and King Street Wharf. They're open on the weekends too!
G. G.
My fav place for coffee in Sydney
H. L.
I am disappointed that they don't serve avo on toast anymore but my savoury go to is the ham cheese and tomato croissant. The tomato makes it so much better.
R. R.
Fantastic baked goods and good coffee. All things with crusts and butter are good here.
C.
Big fan of Bourke St food, just find the staff at this branch rude and not interested. Went back had reasonable service, previous experience was hopefully just a bad day
J. T.
Nice pies and sausage rolls
R. D.
Nice little cafe around the office area at Barangaroo. Enthusiastic staff and beautiful location. Love their hot chocolate and coffesin particular!
M. K.

M. K.

M. C.
Please don’t eat all the ginger boulle, the delicious lamb rolls and sourdough bread. It’s for me too.
S. M.
Got a range of items (muffin, quiche, croissant, chocolate milk), all were tasty. Looking forward to going back.
E. L.

(Translated) It's a small store, but now there are about four tables where you can sit outside. It doesn't feel like a bakery on the street corner like the main store, but you can feel the openness of the waterfront. I think the quality of coffee and pastries is as good as the main store.

(Translated) Famous cafe of meat pies introduced on NHK's second trip
BeefPai is filled with big blocks of meat and it feels like eating meat! Pies with vegetables such as brisket and mushrooms have a gentle taste. Chai latte is also very delicious.

Beef Pie
