Comments of Bowery Lane
P. P.
No doubts , this is one the of the best cafes/restaurants in Sydney CBD by far (Dec 21). The interior looks like a fine dining restaurant, great ambient. Our latte are lovely, nice and smooth.
The waiting staff (a lovely gentleman) works his hardest to look after us. However, our breakfast is a bit letdown. Our toasts are quite burnt. I look at customers next to us (the other 2 tables) and they get same burnt toasts as well so I guess it might be the chef’s preference.
All in all, great place , great service, good coffee and great vibe. Highly recommended 👍

We had a group lunch here. It was pretty good. As usual, I forgot to take photos. We had a set menu and the items were pretty good.
It is costly, as there wasn’t a great deal of room to swing a cat. The starters were okay, salads were the typical new age weedy things you get these days. The beef brisket was pretty good. The lamb was alright, but wasn’t as fall off the bone as one would have hoped from the shoulder.
Dessert was pretty good. Although my chocolate parfait did sorta taste like cheesecake consistency. Not that I’m complaining as it still tasted good.
Table service was very good. The wait staff were attentive without pestering.
I’d thoroughly consider coming back again.
But it was pretty pricey.

A girly brunch took us to Bowery Lane located in the heart of Sydney's CBD, and with really positive reviews I was pretty excited to try out the food. Hidden in what is known as 'Wintergarden' in the CBD, the entrance of Bowery Lane looks almost like a florist store-front with it's beautiful flowers, pots and rustic arrangements. Once you walk up the short flight of stairs you are welcomed to a really warm cafe. The concrete theme runs with the walls, plates, and tables, while the greenery and plants bring the outside in. They've married the inside and outside together so perfectly with the decor and furniture!
Food: 10/10
I loved every little bite I ate
Service: 9/10
We were served really wonderfully
Ambiance: 9/10
I love the concrete meets nature theme!
Menu: 8/10
The menu covers some really great options, with vegetarian choices and a combination of sweet and savoury too. I would like to see a few lighter brunch options however.
Value for Money: 9/10
The brunch was really worth the money. The serving sizes were large, and so very generous.
Overall: 9/10

Tucked away in this building this restaurant is filled with surprisingly excellent food - with a slightly modern industrial vibe. The red wine butter was superb and the steak was perfectly cooked. I also enjoyed the scallops starter. Really worth stopping by if you're after an excellent lunch - or to impress someone with a clever restaurant find.

This place is excellent... the food, the service, the ambiance. I have come here quite a few times for breakfast and a couple of times for dinner... it never disappoints! The smashed avocado was the best in Sydney... seriously... but last time we went it was off the menu so that was disappointing, but everything I have eaten has been excellent! I also love the quirky theme nights... and the way it looks, the staff are enjoying themselves!!! Seriously awesome!
L. J.
We hosted a corporate event here and couldn't be happier with the experience. The place itself is so beautiful and unique and having the place to ourselves was a bonus! The food was incredibly delicious with massive portion sizes. The staff were so helpful, friendly and highly professional. I highly recommend this place and I cant wait to come back!

Beautiful cafe in CBD area. Reasonably priced. Coffee was too expensive tho ($4.50 for regular) or is it normal nowadays?
Anyway we enjoyed our brunch. Egg beautifully cooked. Veggies are fresh. Nicely seasoned.
I. L.
Fabulous food and great service. The one negative for me is the request for a tip while getting the bill, although I have to say they were not pushy.
This is Australia, please don't bring that ridiculous American custom here. Other than that, this is a nice place to get dinner and drinks.
M. C.
Great place for lunch! The decor is stylish and comfortable. The food is delish! The tender steak and garlic butter. The soft roast lamb and the yummy scallops.
It's also quite niche that you need to enter through florist before the restaurant.
N. S.
Modern Australian restaurant at the heart of Sydney's Central Business District.
The food is an ecclectic range of traditional Aussie mixed with Asian-style dishes.
The eggplant dish was perfectly cooked and seasoned. The pasta was divine and the burger was juicy and superbly cooked. If you have time, try their lamb shoulder with beetroot, their best selling dish.
M. F.
Nice ambience and decent modern Australian food. Would highly recommend the burrata and lamb shoulder. However, the shoulder is a large serving and is a chore to finish with only two people.
R. M.
Cool little bar, cafe and restaurant above a lovely flower 🌺 shop. Coffee ☕️ is quite good but you need to work to get the servers attention if you sit in the lobby area. Didn't try the food but it looked and smelled really good plus their burger 🍔 and beer 🍻 deal will have me visiting again
J.
Absolutely loved trying this cafe for the very first time - cosy for a get-together or a quick meal, not too overpriced as their portions are quite generous. Had the Grains and Mushroom (?) from their breakfast menu and was completely satisfied! Will definitely come back to try their other dishes :)
P.S. Set just a-stair-below the side entrance is a lovely florist, perfect to grab a stalk or bouquet for that special someone before your date ;)
E. I.
Large, open space and good, central location close to Wynyard train station. During peak, weekday mornings, it can get a bit noisy, as it's a popular spot for work meetings and brunches. Wait times for staff tend to be slow during peak times. The salads are overpriced but the sirloin steak is amazing!
J. W.
The name suggests it’s in a laneway but it’s not as you enter through the main entrance it’s a sharp left into what feels like a boutique florist and restaurant is located upstairs. The dining area is nicely spaced out with a few round and square tables. The kind waiter served us with coffee first followed by taking our brunch orders. My eyes drew attention to the dish right at the bottom of the page and the waiter said that was the best choice ‘rocky road French toast’. He was not wrong it was simply delicious the rocky road and Turkish delight saving the best to last. Reasonable priced menu for the quality of food served.
B.
Good service and I had a delicious brie and caramelised onion omelette with a few sides for breakfast. Couldn’t fault.
D. D.
Great atmosphere, fantastic breakie, very attentive service. Had a great team get together.
P. L.
Good food and service. If you can get a seat inside.
T. G. D.
One of the few places that opens for breakfast on the weekends in the cbd. Had a healthy breakfast of kale and juice.
R. K.
Excellent coffee and food!

We visited for breakfast on a Thursday morning. We were able to book which was greast as there were 6 of us and we had limited time before work.
Menu has a good selection of brunch options plus there's a cabinet of takeaway sandwiches, wraps, bowls and sweet treats.
There food was all very generously portioned and guided quality but the service was painfully slow. We had to go and get our own water jugs twice and every time we wanted to order we had to go and find someone. Dirty plates weren't cleared at all and they didn't ask if we wanted anything else or more coffees.
Food was good but i wouldn't go back.
L. R.
Amazing food and even better service! The staff are very attentive and nothing is too much trouble. Highly recommended.
H. S.
My friends and I went here for a quick breakfast before work on a Friday morning. The cafe is very cute, good coffee, food is beautiful and tasty but I prefer my breakfast serving sizes a bit bigger. Service was a bit slow, took us 30 mins to get our coffee.
S. S.
Modern decor, love everything on the menu. Steak sandwich had high quality meat.
T. D.
A great small cafe with a cute entry from the blossom shop. Fabulous food! The very best French toast I have ever needed. Lamb was celestial too. The coffee is excellent. The ambiance is ideal and the servers are extremely friendly also. Highly suggested!
N. P.
We hosted our engagement party at Bowery Lane and we were absolutely blown away by the level of service from the whole team. In the lead up there was great communication and transparency which made us so much more relaxed for the evening, knowing everything was taken care of. The quality of food was incredible and reminiscent of what you'd get if dining there, so we were happy that was that continuity. Our guests couldn't speak any higher of the space, so we're happy that we chose it for our special day.
Thank you again to Keri, Santa and the great support team at Bowery Lane.
M. M.
Smashed avocado was excellent. Good coffee too. Would definitely come back
G. G.
Friendly waiters. Market fish amazing. 5 stars hands down.
I. S.
Cool!!!!! Cool!!!!!! Cool!!!!! Place
A bit busy, but any way.......
Food is nice! Coffee-perfect!
C. M.
Service was efficient. Breakfast was tasty, a good chai latte. A business environment, good selection of food and drinks.
M. H.
Great place for breakfast.
B. C.
Friendly staff, good food n comfy setting.
D. T.
Great breakfast. Probably best in a long time. This place is crazily popular so I really don't want to make it any more popular but hats off them. I had the Scouts Breakfast. Very tasty with eggs, fetta, potatoes, and other stuff I can't remember. Great combo. Update ... This place is getting even more popular. Please stay away unless you are a foodie.
b. w.
Great shared dishes - about 35-45/head once shared with yummy lamb, softshell crab and more dishes here. Desserts nicely presented and delicious. Great tasting salmon dish (smoked). They have a bar with a nice selection of cocktails. Worth checking out.
J. H. K.
I tried one of their new menus called The Duck Egg and it was amazingly good. The toasts that came along were nice and crispy, and the sausage and eggs made a good balance of flavors with the greens. The Upper East Side looked visually more pleasant, but Duck Egg had better portions and went really well with fresh orange juice.
S. F. L.
NYC Manhattan vibes in the heart of Sydney’s CBD. The interiors have an industrial-chic feel, making it the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of the city.
The menu is broad, offering classic breakfast/brunch dishes and lunch mains. Whilst the restaurant is only open M-F from breakfast to afternoon, the space is available for hire and private events in the evening. Situated in the heart of the CBD, its the ideal place for a breakfast meeting or work lunch. Plus there is take away for convenience.
I was impressed by the dishes we tried, each dish was well balanced with flavour and presented beautifully. The menu changes seasonally and supports local growers.
We tried the following dishes:
Lamb rump with curried carrots, pearl barley, crispy parsnip, roasted walnuts and smoked labneh. The lamb was succulent and juicy inside, I loved the Middle Eastern inspired flavours of this dish.
Market fish with baby fennel, cherry tomatoes, creme fraiche and salsa verde. This fish skin was super crispy, the fish was perfectly cooked inside. And impressed with the skins taken off the tomatoes.
Yellow fin tuna sashimi poke with with avocado, green papaya, sriracha mayo and macadamia. Poke bowls don’t get more colourful and healthy than this. Loved the nuts incorporated, never had macadamia in a poke bowl before.
Baby gem lettuce salad with truffle, yoghurt dressing, fresh peas and seeds.
Assorted fruit juices freshly squeezed. Definitely got our vitamins with these thirst quenching healthy juices.
Thank you to the team here for looking after me, the hospitality and service was flawless. I can’t wait to visit again!
Note: I dined as a guest of the venue. All views expressed are my own.
M. P.
Fantastic staff and service.
I would say the food is hit and miss for me though. Either they get the cooking and flavours perfect or it's not that tasty or well cooked. Still, I have great memories in this place and the coffee is great.
S. N.
The soft shell crab burger was amazing, the bread is soft and sweet, the Asian coleslaw gave it a nice tang and the crab was so tasty. It's a generous burger which can be cut in half and eaten easily without it falling apart. They've got a good range of beer and wine as well as cocktails. It's a pretty cosy place, there was a larger group of about 15. I would recommend booking. They have booths that comfortably fit 2 people. The service was really good and staff were attentive. Menu is up to date on their website and they are about 5 minutes walk from Wynyard station.
K. G.
We ordered the Reuben, Soft-Shell Crab Burger and Burnt Carrots for a long lunch of which the last two are recommended.
The Reuben was OK, but lacked any real impact of flavour from the sauerkraut (despite asking for extra) and cheese as well as rye bread being rather dull. This was quite disappointing after reading more favourable reviews.
Comparably the burger and carrots featured fantastic flavours, well balanced and generously portioned. The slaw on the burger is a winner, capturing the 'Asian' element promised in the description and the carrots swimming in a tahini emulsion-style sauce is great (all the flavour, but nice and light). The Power Juice was a good finisher (if not ready for dessert), as wasn't overly sweet and very refreshing.
Value for money isn't quite there (particularly the Reuben considering it didn't hit the mark).
The service from staff was good, but management were rather rude and abrupt when paying. This alone would make me hesitant to return.
Bowery is quickly drawing attention from the local business crowd for leisurely meals during the day, and seems to be quite busy during dinner service as well. Breakfast options looked OK as well. Didn't quite deliver though.
C. F.
This burger was awesome! I had soft shell crab with asian coleslaw with the side of mayo. Ordered some sweet potato fries as well but it was way too much and lil bit soggy. The place is like a maze, it's massive and really busy during Friday lunch so booking is recommended!
w. x.
We tried this place as it had a 50% off discount, the food is average american which usually involves a lot of slow cooked meat. Although its very fresh, I feel like there is nothing special about it at all. Deserts is also nothing special although its quite tasty. Atmosphere is great though, and allows for quite conversations. Could be a good place for people who miss american food.
A. c.
Tried this place for dinner. The place is charming, very trendy and chic, nestled in the middle of offices!
The food is very tasty: they do awesome slow -cooked meat to share (you can really taste the proper meat taste and not only bbq sauce as in most of the steakhouse in sydney)! Simply delicious! Service was very good and not too long to wait to get your dishes! Overall a very nice experience!
J. W.
This is an excellent place to grab a coffee in the city. The service is great as well. We had a delayed order one time, and the waiter kindly offered us each a piece of cake. Exceptional.
A. S.
Really charming friendly good hundred waitress. Her colleague spilled coffee which splashed all over us, she entertained us with a dance and gave us free coffees. I like coming here when travelling for work. Great breaky.
L. R.
I had the French toast which was good but too sweet and way overpriced. Coffee was also not bad.
Overall, good place with a nice vibe to take your clients to, but nothing exceptional to rave about.
b. h.
Great food and wonderful people. Very nice owner. Would highly recommend for a nice breakfast in the city.
P. L.
Good wine list. Loved that I could order my steak blue and it came that way perfectly. Less common in Sydney these days. Best way to describe this place is contemporary corporate cosy with a splash of old New York thrown in.
D. W.
We love this place! Great food and excellent service too. Our go-to place for special occasions.
Special thanks to Veronika who served us last week, she was delightful and also to all the staff there. Made our special night a very enjoyable one and well cared for.
T.
Decent informal sit down lunch spot in CBD. Tends to get busy and noisy so it isn't really a place to have an important conversation.
A. K. (.
Great modern Australian and american menu with good options for lunch or after work dinner. This place gets packed so bookings are recommended. Had a beautifully cooked med rare sirloin steak with amazing truffled polenta chips. Smoky goodness. Burgers are a specialty too.
L. W.
Definitely book ahead like I did. Great friendly service. Food didn't take long to come out. All the food items on the menu looked nice but I ordered a soft shell crab burger it was huge. It was pretty good !

Definitely an enjoyable night out, at one of the city's best kept secrets.
Currently serving dinner with a new seasonal menu, the food is delicious and plentiful. The service is slick and the decor has that cool rustic vibe, that works really well in this inner city location.
Book ahead online to save yourself any heartache on the night and be sure to bring your closest carnivore's, so you can tackle the 1kg of Wagyu Braised Short Rib. So well worth it!
E. B.
Great choice of burgers and other food with friendly and attentive staff even when it's quite busy. This place has lots of tables but still has a cosy feel. Be sure to check out the weekly specials.
R. A.
Great Sunday brekky. Probably the best hotcakes ever. Duck egg is awesome. Service was super and relaxed. I have been midweek when it is so more hectic. Will be back for sure!
T. M.
Eating healthy can look and taste this good!
D. A. L. E.
Bit disappointed from my visit. Crammed into a cubicle and the burger was average (for the price) - and made a mess. Drinks were overpriced. However there really isnt that much around this part of town for a reasonable price. Best considered more for a casual dinner
u.
Bowery Lane is hard to find but has a mouth-watering menu for carnivores to remember. The concept of some dishes appeared more appealing than in reality and the overall lack of seasoning just needs to be addressed. If I’m totally honest, I would not go back if they did not have a good burger and that fact that I am still curious about the shared meat dishes.
Read full review and photos on my blog.
J. D.
It's a very convenient spot for breakfast/lunch on a work day if you're in the city. The food is good, but it's definitely more expensive than the other options around and it can get very busy (i.e. longer waiting times after you've ordered).
T. F.
Looking for a quick bite, very quick turnaround of fantastic food, all the dishes seem pretty popular here. Busy place at lunch. Friendly staff. Love the fish n chips!
N. N.
Beautiful food and great venue..staff are very attentive and this place has a real great vibe... already planning my next visit...I'm gluten intolerant and they went above and beyond for my needs...two thumbs up
A. W.
Great, friendly service. Yummy cocktails and the food was pretty good. I had the soft shell crab burger while my friend had the new york burger. Trendy atmosphere.
K. Q.
Went here for my birthday. All the staff were lovely. cocktails were great and more than enough food. everyone loved it!
would defiantly go back
T. W.
Quaint little place with a elegant and cosy atmosphere. Food was visually superb and taste was amazing, the salmon was perfect. Would definitely recommend this place but pass on the appetisers and go straight for the mains!
J. B.
Really great food. Service can be quite slow (especially for lunchtime). VERY annoying that you can't split bills...
E. M. W.
Definitely one of Sydney's best new restaurants. Chic interiors reminiscent of Manhattan. The food here is great for sharing - it's hearty and super tasty, definitely worth checking out
H. Z.
Nice coffee and extremely friendly staffs. A very pleasing experience!
K. S.
One of the best breakfasts in Sydney cbd
Shame about surly wait staff however. Luckily you don't need them to enjoy the tasty avo smash.
Sit in the booths not the awful officer foyer section.
T. B.
went there three days in a row on our weekend away, can't recommend it enough amazing coffee and even better breakfast, the ricotta stuffed French toast is the best French toast we have ever had it was so good we went back the next day to get it again.
M. B.
Food was amazing and well priced. Only down side was the service, was a bit slow, waited forever between courses and for drinks to arrive. Hopefully will be better next time.
Y. H. A.
Excellent coffee! Service by the ladies are +++++!
E. B.
Came here for a work lunch. Staff were great. Food was fresh and delicious. Awesome drinks menu as well, try the 750ml Japanese infused beer!!!!!!

Love the drink options.
l. c.
Had lunch today... wow!!!!! ... best short rib!!! Sarah (Manager) Annie (waitress) .. the very best - friendly, helpful with a gr8 sense of humour.... high on my return list.
O. C.
Great interiors, good soundtrack and comfortable for groups. Service was prompt and staff were lovely. Didn't accommodate an allergy and charged extra to substitute.
v. l.
Lovely cafe in the heart of CBD. Tasty breakfast menu. Good coffee. This is the best in the area for absit down breakfast. Friendly and prompt service as well.
J. M.
Attentive staff were available without being overbearing, the food was very good - especially the serving sizes! Inventive cocktails, rotating beer menu.
I. T.
Quality farm to table style dining now brunch place of choice. Prices are reasonable when you take into account the generous serving size.
J. C.
The food is modern, delicious and adequate value for money. The dessert options were a little disappointing however the attentive service was commendable.
J.
Good food but over priced. Turned up today after making the trip into town as google said open but they weren’t. No longer open weekends as per notice in window. Update your opening hours online as everybody uses google!
A. W.
Great spacious loft style cafe, came on for Sunday breakfast and was seated with a coffee very quickly food was good and a little different to standard cafe menu!
J. G.
The only place for a power breakfast in Sydney.
Reservations are a must.
Dishes change from time to time and always impress with the freshest ingredients and quality, culinary creativity.
Z. T.
Probably the fanciest take away iced latte I have ever had.
M. T.
Good food, good coffee and good service with properly trained staff. Blurs the line between cafe and restaurant, in a good way. A step above the usual foyer cafe fare.
M. L.
Amazing food however we had to wait over 50 minutes for it to arrive.
M. C. (.
Biased opinion warning. My partner works here. So of course it is awesome, the staff are wonderful and so is the food and coffee.
B. Y.
Super tasty food. The meat here is cooked really well. Buzzy atmosphere and service is great.

Part of my order was the NY cheeseburger and got charged $23 for it when it was on the menu for $21. Did not receive any form of compensation for the price difference and it wasn't made known to me before payment.
A. C.
I had the salmon noodle bowl. For the most part delicious but the noodles were really clumpy which was disappointing.

Ambience wasn't fantastic, food selection was decent. Very small portions for the food we ordered especially considering the prices!
E. C.
Smashed avo had too much cheese not enough avo, while the baked eggs with chorizo was actually chorizo meat mince

Great food and beer, excellent service. The share plates went down really well.
L. L.
Can't comment on a lot of aspects as I went with a friend who works here but the food was brilliant. Lamb shoulder was definitely the highlight!
