Very yummy food here. The lobster congee is very flavourful and a full lobster tail was used! Was worth every penny. The matcha lava toast was great and flowy too.
H. P.
The food is delicious and the environment is comfortable. It is a brunch with a different style that I rarely eat in Australia.
H. C.
A fantastic experience not only in terms of food but also customer service. Upon arrival, one of the waitresses took the time to explain the various menu items and provided us with recommendations.
The wait time after putting through orders was super quick, with both the drinks and food items ordered arriving within 5-10 minutes of each other. The "Chicken. Eggs. Benny." was truly delightful along with the matcha lava toast dessert item.
5 stars all round and would definitely come back to try their other items on the menu in the future.
A. D.
The typical type of “Instagram” brunch place, where food is more good looking than tasty. You can imagine how much effort is put on decorating every plate but the taste is just not as impressive.
j.
To be completely honest, I originally wrote this as a one star review as we experienced very poor service but after speaking with the very apologetic chef, we do understand that these are hard times with the staff shortages and they were trying their best to make things work.
To the chef, thank you very much for your apology and honesty in this situation. The offer to refund our drinks was very much appreciated but we value supporting local businesses.

Meet Mica is a homely cafe with a great local feel. The food is excellent, with unique and interesting flavours that are a must-try.
I had the crab egg croissant which had a fluffy yet crunchy croissant topped with a generous serving of crab, fish roe, and other toppings.
Would love to come back and try more of the menu!
A. T.
This is a lovely cafe for brunch. They have beautifully presented, delicious food, and decent sized portions. We ordered the specials: Lobster Congee and Blue Fin Tuna Tartare. They also serve a mean matcha latte. Would definitely come here again!
T.
Enjoyed the food, absolutely loved the sunrise drink even though they did not have salted caramel that day but they subbed it with mango foam instead which still worked very well. Duck salad refreshing with nice textures. A little disappointed that there wasn't as much fruit with the lava toast compared with previous photos (only had a few cubes of honeydew) so it was a very Matcha-heavy dish. More fruit would have balanced it a bit better but it paired really well with the sunrise lemonade drink. Keen to try their other dishes sometime in the future!
B. C.
Great food but they just dont have enough staff. The staffs work hard but not enough hand. We had to find our own table we had to clean up table ourselves and the drinks come out only after we finish meal. We order at the reception. Felt more like a maccas in service. Crab meat croissant is great though. Maybe the place has been affected by covid. dnt know.
R. T.
Good service, lovely choice of menu. Matcha latte wasn't too sweet. The charsiu rice bowl took a bit longer than expected maybe 10mins after all my friends got theirs. It was acceptable quality overall. However the common toilet was quite dirty hence took away from the experience.
J. S.
Food is delicious. The standard brunch items have a slight Asian twist to them and are great. Coffee is good too
S. R.
Delicious food, for those who want more than eggs, bacon and toast. I had ‘A Bowl’ and it was both very tasty and healthy. The pour-over from Ethiopia was smooth and fruity. Service was friendly and the decor was clean and modern. Apparently this place can get busy, so come early if you don’t want to wait.
A. L.
Soba was very bitter, the matcha latte wasn’t as good as I expected, coffee was great tho and matcha lava cake was not bad. I guess not a good experience for matcha/Japanese food, compared to others I’ve been to. But cafe food wise is good.
M. Z.
We were originally very dissatisfied and frustrated with the poor service and the long wait-times. However, once they were aware of the fault, they tried to rectify the situation.
Thank you to the chef who came out to apologise personally and offered the refund for our drinks. Your actions were what made it go from a one star to a four.
H. Z.
A nice place for brunch. The lobster congee is very suitable for people who like Asian food. The crab croissant is also a nice one (the egg is soft and goes along well with the fish roe). The croissant is super crispy after toasted. I actually went there for the matcha cake, it’s ok, but not really amazing though. Also there aren’t many choices on the menu. I couldn’t really find other dishes that I’d like to try apart from these three. Btw, the cafe isn’t too big, so we waited some time for indoor seats.
W. M.
This is an interesting cafe as it is a fusion of Western and Japanese influences. The Eggs Benedict with Soba bread is interesting and different . It tastes nice ,but I felt that it was a bit small .
The coffee is nice and silky and done just the right way that it is enjoyable. The only meal that did not quite work was the Matcha French Toast as it as it had an unusual taste.
There is a bus stop 50 metres away from this cafe so it is quite easy to get to as it's on the main road for all buses.
N. J.
I like these dishes so yummy 😋
B. H.
Great cafe just off the main stretch of cafes and shops behind Central station. Really pretty dishes, great friendly staff, pretty good coffee!
Tried the Lobster Congee (rice porridge) and Salted Egg Pork Katsu, followed by the Matcha Lava French Toast. The french toast was definitely the standout, with the oozing matcha sauce in the middle.
E. S.
For a split second, as juicy pork fat melted in my mouth and tinge of guilt passed through my mind. That guilt nonsense, a throwback from all the New Years la la, yeah, best bod ever etc... Then comfort took over and I devoured the salted yolk tonkotsu entirely, without sharing.
Comfort is the goal at Meet Mica, a menu that spans across continents and tastes. My Japanese Bento, Jj’s eggs beni on a fried bao and even lobster congee on the menu all spell comfort to me.
Most of what I’d seen from this place was the sweet stuff, their famous matcha lava cake, fills the Ethernet with popular Instagram imagery. So to get excellent umami flavours put me in my happy place.
Coffee is good, baked goods originate from Luxe Bakery, good reputation there and from what I’ve tried, tasty beni & crisp juicy tonkotsu bento, the food is good.
I like the sleek lines of the interior and stylish comfortable seats, that’s what it’s about here, comfort. The only slight discomfort felt was when I wanted to open a window, door was opened and back I was, in comfort zone.
S. K.
Came here for brunch yesterday and got the crab egg croissant and a coffee. Crab egg croissant very filling and tasty and packed full of fresh crab meat and fish roe. Coffee was great and the art very fabulous. Would recommend to brunch lovers.
T. W.
Great brunch place! Food was really nice, had the crab and egg croissant with the matcha lava cake, both of which were quite unique. Mocha was good too, can taste the coffee well. Overall taste was quite flat (in a good way), not too overpowering or underwhelming. Would recommend trying it out, although there is usually a wait as the place is quite small.
C. L.
I finally met Mica! Been eyeing this café for the longest time and I finally had the time to visit and boy oh boy it was everything that I had dreamed of! I had the pleasure of trying their lobster congee, duck and cha soba salad and, of course, their infamous matcha french lava toast. Service was quick and presentation was elegant and simple. Portions were very generous and I left the proud owner of a newly conceived food baby. The lobster congee was such a warm and homely dish, I was impressed with the depth of flavour they managed to create and would've been perfect with just a dash of soy sauce. The duck and cha soba salad was served with a cold noodle which I thought was clever as it made the dish quite refreshing to eat. Together, I thought all the ingredients complemented the others well however will comment that the duck was a little dry for my liking. Finally, the star of the show - the matcha french lava toast. I can honestly say that I've never seen more perfect 'lava' in my life. The flavour was beautifully balanced with the bitterness of the matcha contrasting the sweetness of the fresh fruit and condensed milk. I can definitely see why people have been so excited about this dish! I also ordered the two cold drinks on their menu - divine and my cloudy day. Of the two, I preferred my cloudy day, which I personally felt was a more light and bubbly drink. Overall, an excellent experience at Meet Mica! I will definitely be revisiting and exploring more of their menu.
C. M.
Really enjoyed the minimalistic design of the cafe. The atmosphere was friendly and inviting. The food was enjoyable, different to anything I've had before. The crab and egg croissant was pretty good and the matcha french toast became a little overwhelming by the end. The experience overall was good.
E. Q.
Cute Japanese fusion cafe located in Surry Hills. We came here for the crab and egg croissant, lobster congee, and their matcha lava french toast, which is current making its rounds on social media. The crab and egg croissant was deliciously moreish, and the lobster congee was perfect for a cold winter’s morning. What we came for though, was the matcha lava french toast. Watching the ‘lava’ ooze out was extremely satisfying, and having the condensed milk on the side was a good decision as it allowed you to determine how sweet you wanted the dish.
The cafe itself was quite small, and we’d recommend arriving early as by 10:30am, there was already a line of people waiting. Despite the lines, however, not once were we rushed to leave. Service was a bit on the slow side, and food was a bit pricey- total cost for 2 came to almost $80.00, however, considering we had lobster and crab, I guess it is sort of justified.
C. Y.
Brunch was so good and filling. I didn’t think I would enjoy having fusion as I’d normally go for traditional brunch instead. Everything seems to work well other than the Yakult dessert. I’d would love to come back next time :)

Surry Hills is the epicentre of the Sydney Cafe scene. Looking for a cafe in this area, you are spoilt for choice. We will let you in on a little tip, there is an awesome new Cafe in Surry Hills near the Redfern end, which you must visit. Get the jump on this place before it gets too popular. The cafe is called Meet Mica. Owned and run by the lovely Mica teams up with chef Lee, having learnt at Cordon Bleu school and mastered his technique at Tetsuya's. Lee is bringing his technique to provide a refined breakfast, brunch and lunch menu.
Meet Mica is a bright cafe with plenty of light. With a stylish Scandi fit out, right down to the coffee machine. Speaking of, they make a good coffee and use the Little Marionette brand.
The food here is beatifully presented with the chef's fine dining experience on display. The menu is Brunchcentric and could go either way toward breakfast or lunch. Not only pretty, the food is absolutely delicious.
A standout was the Matcha French Lava Toast. Matcha dishes have been on trend for a while now and we put this at the top of the list. The condensed milk syrup served with this dish was very impressive, silky and viscose, it was like we were pouring it in slow motion, just amazing! Cut into the lava toast and the gooey matcha filling oozes out. This dish is decadent, not overly sweet and coated with the caramelised sugar which gives a nice smokey flavour. This dish is a must order.
Another quality breakfast option was the porridge, not your standard porridge. A beautifully presented bowl with plenty of technique on display through the use of a banana custard and coconut foam.
Also utilising one of of our favourite Japanese flavours, the citrus flavour of the yuzu and topped with almonds. I'll certainly be going back for this.
If you are visiting a little later in the morning, another item high on the list has to be the lobstser congee. Very inviting and a perfect winter warmer. An extravagant dish, with lobster slow cooked in rice congee. Topped with sliced lobster tail and a slow cooked egg, just droolworthy. Delicately flavoured with green shallot and ginger and katsuoboshi crush.
Meet Mica is a cafè with a cool set up and an amazing menu and good coffee. Ticking all of the boxes, a must visit cafè. It is hands down one of the best we've been to.
M. M.
Portion is huge. Flavour is very interesting as fusion between Asian and Western. Customer service is beautiful.
C. G.
Always a must when we are in Surry Hills! We absolutely love everything we’ve tried here but the Salted-Egg Yolk Tonkatsu Bento and Berries-Mint Punch are my all time faves 💖 Their açai bowls and crab & egg croissants are also yummy!
C. W.
Enjoyed my bacon and egg combo (2x hash browns and 1 regular coffee/cappuccino) 😁
They're known for there latte art. I will have to come back again to see the different latte art 😁
L.
Food here is phenomenal! Great menu range and lots of drink choices. Love this place and would highly recommend it.
J. C.
Had high hopes on this place based on the reviews and photos. Unfortunately the food took forever to arrive (lunch time on a Sunday) and was only average and not worth the high prices. The duck cha soba tasted alright but was quite expensive for what it was given that it only had four extremely thinly sliced pieces of duck. Matcha toast could have had more matcha flavour. If you also wanted to try the lobster congee it's no longer on the menu.
I did like that they have oat milk coffee, the decor and that they are a queueing system which sends you a text message when the table is ready.
C. L.
Wait for long time but the food seems not worth the waiting. Lobster congee was over cooked. Lava cake too sweet to finish. A bowl is worth trying though. So far my favourite.
R. S.
Delicious matcha lava toast and matcha lattes!!
J. L.
We came especially for the Matcha Lava toast which did not disappoint as it was delicious. Drinks were good too. Even though we arrived before the lunch crowd, it still took a while for our food to be served. If going on Sunday, would recommend going at non peak times as the line got really long.
A. P.
Duck and soba noodles for breakfast 🤤.
Cute Cafe tucked away from the main streets of Sydney and offering up a unique menu of breakfast and all day brunch items.
I had the famous duck and soba noodles. Really loved the flavor and texture of the noodles. Duck breast was delicious and plenty of it. It included Confit Duck leg, cha soba, rockets, eschalots & baby radish salad, house made wasabi & lime dressing.
We also had the udon-desu-yo which had
cold udon, house-made dash broth, avocado, seaweed, brown onion, corn, nori. So refreshing and delicious.
Food was fast, coffee delicious, and I would be happy to come back again 😊
C. Q.
I would recommend the cafe to my friends. The brunch was fantastic. Lobster Congee was fit well with my Asian stomach. Before you come, I would recommend you to book.

Meet Mica introduces a Japanese and pan-Asian inspired cafe menu to Surry Hills. The highlights are a lobster congee with delicious chunks of grilled lobster in a rice flavoured with diced lobster. A bento box of Lite Sammies includes salmon with dill mustard and a light egg roll sandwich. Coffee is by Little Marionette and there's guest roasters each month for their filter coffees. A gem on Elizabeth street not far from Central Station
J. C.
We went there especially after reading a blog post. Was surprised that we had to queue for about 30 mins on sat as we got there pretty late ard 2:30pm. The service was good considering how busy it was. The food came pretty quick which was impressive. We ordered lobster congee, crab and egg croissant and matcha lava French toast. The congee was nice but for $28 is only enough for 1 person. The matcha french toast is not for the faint hearted. It won't be your cuppa tea if your expecting a traditional French toast. The croissant is definitely my favorite and worth a try. It's a pretty noisy cafe so was difficult to have a quiet conversation with my friend. On a nice day I would definitely recommend getting a table outside.
V. M.
This cafe is so sweet and quaint, the decor and ambience were light and simple. There's a lot of natural light coming in too.
The food is plentiful in sweet and savoury options and quite filling. I wish I could try more dishes, though from the crab croissant I can tell the quality and flavours are great!
I recommend coming in couples or small groups as it's easier to get seating in the cafe!
J. N.
Recommend Bao bun bennedict and Matcha lava cake the most. Food was served fast and great customer service. Great experience of something new and delicious.
N. N.
The place looks really nice and clean. A lot of natural light. Feels very pleasant. The food menu is quite unique. The dish I ordered is called 'a bowl' (poached egg, chicken, barley, corn, greens and a delicious broth). Very yummy. However service is extremely slow, so better bring a great company with you if you'd like to try this place.
T. O.
We came for lunch on a Thursday. It was busy and full but some space was quickly made for us. The setting and decor is spot on and the staff were attentive, with quick service.
Food looks amazing, tastes great and drinks look and taste good.
M.
The food was super delish!! I think I have been to this cafe approx 3 or 5 times already.
The food was amazing, I ordered the lobster congee & omg yum! (No longer on the menu)
The cafe without fail has delivered amazing food each visit I make, but the service is a little slow so it’s probably best not to go during your lunch break as you might get back to the office late.. A weekend would be more ideal if you are on a time schedule.
I love this place and I would come back for more! 😍
Say hello to the matcha latte! Super yummy and creamy! I think it’s new on the menu! 🍵
B. G.
I liked the fact that most of the dishes seem to be pretty unique , Japanese flavors with brunch. I tried the tonkatsu bento which was delicious , and the matcha toast which is what you would expect very matchay but definitely an interesting dish for brunch. I would definitely come back to try the other options.
J. C.
alas the matcha french toast was sold out by 3pm. the duck chasoba was good, the crab croissant with flying fish roe was wow & the bacon & egg roll with hash brown was hugh.
E. N.
It’s more like a western & japanese fusion brunch place. They have a mix of food such as ramen and avocado toast. Ordered a crab meat fish roe croissant ($23) and their famous matcha lava bread ($22). Inside of the omelette they put in a mix of real crab meat and fake crab stick. People who is a fan of rich matcha definitely need to try their matcha lava bread. We wonder where is the rest of the bread that was dig out. Doesn’t harm to put it beside the plate as well. The food is delicious and staff is helpful. Due to the crowd on weekend, there’s a 15mins wait average.
C. O.
Over rated. Crab croissant is just okok. Lobster congee is overpriced and the lobster is rubbery.
J. W.
This little cosy cafe serves up beautiful, vibrant and interesting use of Asian ingredients. The menu is short which makes your selection a whole lot easier. This place is not all about taste but pretty looking dishes for instagram likes. I was a bit disappointed with the lobster congee one of their signature instagram favourites, it wasn’t bad but wasn’t super delicious especially priced at $28 for something that’s quite small. My pick the matcha French lava toast was yummy served with seasonal fruit. The coffees are beautifully presented with skilled latte art, but coffee tasting average.
F. K.
The A bowl was good and hearty - I’m happy with my choice. Other dishes, such as the bao bento did not look so appealing. I think the main attraction here is the matcha French toast which I saw come out of the kitchen quite a lot. Nice decor. Can get busy but they have a wait list system which is handy.
J. Q.
Really good experience here! We had brunch here and I ate the crab meat croissant with the fish roe etc. I thought it was great! The serving was pretty big in my opinion. The mix of the textures was also good, with the crispy/flakey pastry and the tender and soft crab meat. The fish roe was also a nice addition. The prices are decent for what you get. In terms of the vibe and atmosphere, it is much like most cafes - vibrant yet peaceful. And the service was good too!! Would definitely come here again (if only it were a bit closer to the station).
C. L.
Very Generous size large coffee, the lobster congee taste great, if you are not a fan of matcha you may found the matcha lava toast is a bit strong.
C. D.
A lovely spacious place to enjoy coffee with friend, we ordered crab&egg croissant which was tasty, very tender scrambled egg mixed with crab meat and caviar highlighted this dish^^ loved it. But that lobster congee just let us down a little bit, we were so excited to try this signature dish, but that lobster was lack of flavor while congee absorbed all fishy taste......
F. (.
This fairly new Cafe has trendy and elegant decor throughout.
Their Asian-fusion dishes are unique, plated beautifully and delicious! Great coffee too.
Some of the dishes I’ve had: Lobster congee, avo & rye with poached egg, a bowl and matcha french lava toast. All are distinctly tasty. Especially the matcha french lava toast, definitely a must try dish!
A. L.
Hands down the best egg benedict I have ever tried. Had bacon with a side of mushroom for my eggs benedict. It has an asian fusion twist to the traditional eggs benedict. A must try!
C. a. M.
The Matcha Lava Toast with matcha milk foam, strawberry dust and seasonal fruit was heavenly. The matcha lava toast had the perfect amount of matcha 'lava' and the toast was crunchy and had a sweet crust. The addition of the condensed milk allowed you to adjust your sweetness level - which meant pour it all in for me.... :)
E.
Nice cosy pLace to have brunch. I guess their popular menu was the lobster congee and the egg croissant because everyone seemed to order it. I tried ordering The lobster congee and didnt regret! It really taste good and i asked for extra dried bonito flakes. Servers was nice and friendly too. Parking here was easy too. Would definitely come back for brunch.
M. J.
Meet Mica is light and airy, and a comfortable place for brunch. Everything looks beautiful enough to photograph! We adventured to the more unusual side of the menu - with crab scrambled eggs on croissants (absolutely delicious) and the macha French toast (a cube of bread filled with bitter matcha - warning not for everyone's tastes).
Great selection of cold drinks and coffees.
J. L.
Very nice spot to eat if going to Belvoir. The duck salad with soba noodles and fried kale was delicious and not too heavy for lunch. Plus the chai latte was the right temperature and not too sweet like many others.
J. D.
I was looking forward to my visit to Meet Mica and it didn't disappoint. It's a well appointed modem cafe with great light colours and modern furniture and furnishings. The staff were friendly and the coffee was exceptional. The food is well presented and the Matcha French toast had a very strong flavour. Great idea to serve it with condensed milk to balance the bitterness of Matcha. My only gripe although being very petty is the wobbly table top on the small tables. I'll be back to try the lobster congee next.
K.
A Scandinavian-style cafe with a 'Japan meets brunch' menu. The food is made from quality ingredients and tastes delicious. Definitely worth a few return visits to try everything on the menu.
But be sure to get there early, we arrived at 12pm and half the menu was sold out.
林.
service was very good and friendly, nice clean decor, so I give extra one star, and one star for nice coffee as well. BUT the food is overrated , I and my partner both didn’t enjoy our food at all, we had matcha toast quite tasteless, Matcha sauce was watery and even the sweet sauce on the side ( i guess that was condensed milk?) was also watery. Eggs Benedict was more like eggs on toast as hollandise sauce wasn’t tasted like hollandise. There was too much grease on the plate coming from fried bao .
Read some reviews before i went there and was expecting alot but didnt live up to my expectations.
W. Y.
Very lovely cold soba experience. The matcha larva toast was also very nice but a bit too bitter for my tastes. Atmosphere can be a bit loud as all the surfaces are hard.
A. T.
Quaint little cafe with Japanese inspiration. Menu items are great although on the pricey side. Expect extremely long wait times on weekends.

|📸 - Match French Lava Toast 🍵🍞|
—————————————————————
Meet the Matcha Lava Toast from Meet Mica. This oozing Matcha brick toast is every bit as delicious as it is instagrammable 😍! The matcha green toast is carved out from the centre and filled with warm, liquidy matcha ganache 🍵 and topped of with pink-red strawberry biscuit dust 🍓. Condensed milk is served on the side (to be poured onto the toast) with seasonal fruits 🍉.
—————————————————————
(Check my bio for a description of the 🍽️🤩💵 emojis)
—
🍽️ - This oozy matcha composite was definitely a mouthful and had a decent serving size 😋. However, I was not exactly full but that's cause I have a sweet tooth and I like to eat a lot 😅.
—
🤩 - MATCHA FANS AND FANACTICS! This is an absolute treat! The matcha in this toast is neither overly bitter/strong or sweet. The condensed milk allows you to adjust the sweetness level of the toast to your liking (I basicaly poured the whole thing) 😛. The tanginess of the fruits go in well with the warm oozing matcha lava 😙. Now as for people who are not big fans of Matcha, my friend who came here with me was a bit matchaaed out 🧐. She felt the matcha was amazing and first but by the end of it, she was overwhelmed. Only a true matcha fan can finish the Matcha Lava French Toast on their own and that's ok 🍵. Maybe share the dish with a friend if you're not sure and you could order some of the other great things Meet Mica has to offer (check the pro tip section for more details)!
—
💵 - $20 (A bit more on the expensive side but definitely worth it if you're a hardcore matcha fan).
—————————————————————
***PRO TIP: Share the match toast with a friend and order a side or another dish such as their Egg Benedict on Fried Bao 🍳 or their Reuben Hills OG Blend Coffee ☕!
—————————————————————
P. Y.
Definitely do applaud them for trying something different to your typical cafe food with a definite Asian influence.
M. C.
Great taste and such a lovely place. It is worth to visit again to try different orders.
L.
Coffee is good. Many Japanese fusion meals but it feels so awkward for Japanese and expensive. Staff and Deserts are good enough.
C. W.
Meet Mica is the lovely cafe Surry Hills. The team is attentive and helpful, and coffee was on point. I really enjoyed the mushrooms toastie and bakery goods, but the prices are way too high for what’s on offer. More reasonable prices would make it a 5 star experience.
W. K.
Great food! Savoury brunch! They start to serve lunch at 10am, do come after that timing to taste the beautiful dishes
M. C.
This would have been a 5 star if there was more matcha filling. It was approx 75% toast and 25% matcha.
The matcha was unsweetened which i thoroughly enjoyed and adding the condensed milk provides the option of customizing to your taste.
The food does take long to come out so I would suggest to visit if you have a 1.5hr lunch break.
S. C.
Great little place tucked away from the hustle and bustle of Sydney. Staff are friendly and menu sounds amazing - wanted to try everything. Ordered the duck tataki & cha soba. Yummy, but the duck was well cooked instead of being rare for tataki, and a bit too greasy.
E. H.
Pretty for the eyes, unsatisfying for the stomach.
Great presentation, atmosphere and service.
Unique dishes with that umami.
However, if you come on an empty stomach, expect to leave unsatisfied as the portions are on the small side for the price.
K.
Great brunch spot with Japanese influenced flavours. Coffee not bad as well
m. x.
Lovely place to have brunch with. Nice tasty food and drinks. Friendly staffs.
M. C.
Lovely Japanese inspired cafe near sorry hills and redfern. Great tea menu which is also used in the food such as this houjicca lava cake. Coffee is also smooth and available in a choice of non dairy milk. Make sure you get there early because the place is popular and you will need to line up. Staff are really pleasant too. Great little breakfast/brunch venue
K. H.
Been here twice, great vibe although with the tiles and such, the noise echoes. The food is delicious, loved the chashu pork rice and had the seafood carbonara Udon. If you're sick of normal brunch fare, come here for something a bit different.
Parking is usually not a problem and it's a short walk from Central station , the only thing is that the street it is on is quite busy, so sitting outside isn't really pleasant. Oh, and the toilets are truly frightening, you go through a dark garage, and the toilet is ridiculously dingy.
K. H.
Menu was diffrent i enjoyed their bacon and egg roll, their lobster congee was generous with lobster and their matcha toast was super strong in matcha flavour
W. M.
I was waiting a whole 10 seconds for service.
Justin was polite, and went and got my parts straight away. In and out, at 4pm on a Friday. Well done guys.
H. W.
Took us about one hour’s waiting time... crab croissant is super tasty but the matcha toast is not recommended:)
C. F.
Excellent coffee, good friendly service. Nice location, clean and well presented.
S. U.
A warm and inviting space with a wide variety of all day breakfast and lunch choices. Would go back to try more it's from the menu. And there's a resident kitty !!
C. K.
The latte art amazed me. Food presentation is on point. Matcha tastes genuine. Good service. Staff is friendly and we appreciated when one of the wait staff asked how our meal was. A good overall experience.
Y. N.
Matcha fresh lava toast is tasty. Nice stuff and nice atmosphere here!
T. W.
Popped in today for a coffee as it's round the corner, and it's fair to say I'm amazed.
1) the service is top notch. You can go to a lot of cafes in the city and the people won't even smile - I walked in here and everybody working said hello and had nonstop smiles.
2) the coffee was AMAZING! The taste was amazing. So glad I went for a large as I didn't want it to end. One of the best coffees I've had so far
3) Value. A generous coffee which tasted amazing, only for $5. You really can't go wrong.
I'd give them 6/5 if it was possible. Outstanding service and quality product. One very happy customer.
M. J. C.
Waited approx 30 min and not really worth thr wait.
Had the matcha lava toast, quite nice, but the fish and dashi was average.
Z. Z.
Used to be a frequent visitor here. Coffees, iced chocolate and other drinks were all beautiful. But the food seems to drop below the line recently (crab&egg croissant excluded, always the best).
J. C.
Amazing service, amazing food; we’ll be back...
Such intriguing, delicious & unique fusion of flavours!
Waited around 20min for our food at the busiest time of the day, but it was worth it.
Thank you Carolina for the warm & friendly service!
L.
I thoroughly enjoyed my ginger latte.
However, the wait to get in was >30 minutes. Not a great idea in winter.
I also had the crab/egg croissant which had a $24 price tag.... fell slightly short on expectations, seems like the “crab” meat was from seafood sticks (albeit a high quality one).
Definitely great for the ‘gram if that’s what you are after!

They are definitely busy. Expect to wait for tables, even if you already booked. I booked at 12pm but wasn't seated until 12:20pm. They will still seat walk-ins before you anyways. I noticed other people were there haven't been served food yet when I was waiting for my food. Took about 30-45 minutes for food to come out and as I was leaving I noticed other people are just being served. Food and drink are interesting and many choices. But they are average in taste but pretty presentation. Cute ambience and staff are friendly. You can tell they are trying their best to accomodate. I think they need more staff and an organised kitchen, perhaps set a time limit of 90mins per table for weekends or something. Most of your customers just chill there for hours when you could be serving other customers.
A. M.
The bun was really nice
The green tea lava toast was not as good as expected.
K. D.
I don't really know where all the fuss about the long waiting time came from. Food and drinks went out on a timely manner during our visit. If you don't like Asian fusion food, this is not the place for you. But otherwise, this is a heaven for all food lover who wanted something out of the box.
F. M.
Such delicious coffee from here, it's best when you dine in, and their large coffee mugs are actually large. The perfect amount. Their bacon and egg roll is a little savoury for my liking, I prefer the sweetness of BBQ sauce, but that's just me.
H. M. M.
Super great drinks. Very authentic Japanese matcha drinks. The lattes are pricey but WORTH IT. I haven't tried the food but I've heard great reviews. The place is gorgeous to look at with that very quaint Japanese feel
S. B.
Great Cafe with an interesting menu. Flavours from Asian (mostly Japanese) cuisines bring a nice twist to familiar breakfast dishes. Some of the dishes are on the more expensive side, but still good value considering the quality of food served. Coffee is consistently excellent. Service is friendly and polite.
Q. L.
Overall is good experience, staff are very friendly and welcoming. Food size is sufficient for a person unless you are super hungry.
E. J.
Delightful Japanese western fusion!
Definitely worth its constant inclusion in the various "Best Cafes of Sydney" lists - the food tastes great, the dishes are really well constructed and balanced, and the flavours are so good!
Worth a trip to try, especially the matcha French toast.
J. M.
Absolutely loved the variety of drinks and interesting brunch options at this cafe! Truly one of Sydney's best cafes. Highly recommend the duck soba salad and the tonic lime espresso drink. So refreshing 👌
G. I.
Food is special and awesome.
L. E.
Nice place for breakfast. friendly staff! Especially the guy who’s taking order. He’s always greeting and smiling. Highly recommended
M.
Delicious food and amiable wait staff. Only downside is the 45 mins-1 hour wait time.
A. A.
Cute little cafe about a 10 min walk from Central station. Staff are friendly and the fit out of the cafe is warm and welcoming.
D. G.
Amazing staff! Super yum food! New menu is sooooooooo GOOOD!!! And reallllly good coffee! It's my regular coffee place now.
G. N.
Light filled cafe. Beautiful Japanese infused dishes. Good coffee and very friendly staff.
A. K.
Very popular. provides a great selection of Asian fusion cuisine.
There are many of my favourite dishes. Must try their matcha lava French toast.
Also, you will be very impressed with their service and the ambience.
Z. c.
If I could rate 10 stars I would do it for Meet Mica. The chef is amazing!! Such a great creation for the crab meat croissant. Large portion, crispy croissant with the well season egg and roe. I also love the fish noodle but they did not have it anymore. Please bring it back and I will come here everyday!
X. F.
Great mix of matcha and condensed milk!! The best I've chocolate I ever have!!
古.
recommend to have a try
B. V.
Really beautiful and delicious food!! Definitely worth coming here!
N. L.
The food menu, being of Asian influence, is unique in the cafe scene. The lobster congee was nicely done, congee thickness was very well done and the lobster seems fresh. Macha french toast was aromatic and not too sweet, crunchy on the outside and soft inside.
Coffee was good too.
Service was friendly and somewhat efficient and the wait for food wasnt bad. (The shop was around half full when we visited. )
The cafe is just next to a bus stop, so taking public transport may be easier for some people than driving and having to find a place to park.
e. m.
Newly opened cafe in Surry Hills. Such a lovely fit out and it has a 'coolness' about it. The menu is very much Japanese inspired and the thing to try is the Matcha Lava French Toast. How they get the oozy matcha in there is anyone's guess but it's so delicious. Crunchy on the outside and soft in the middle. The staff are lovely here and make sure you say hi to Mica the owner! Definitely warming up to be a local and crowd favourite. There should be something on the menu for everyone. The presentation is absolutely wonderful too.
Y. L.
We had eggs benedict with miso double bacon. It comes with deep fried bao which is a great combination with pouch egg and crispy bacon. We also had Crab and bao. The mixture between egg and crab was amazing. On top of that, their coffee is very nice. Very recommended place.
V.
The food is definitely Instagram worthy. The Cafe is very busy, cute and modern. Great coffee. However the taste of the food is midiocre, quite bland and for the same price, I can get tastier food at another Cafe.
R. H.
Cosy place, nice interior though seating is a little cramped. Gets busy so expect a wait. Lobster congee was nice and the coffee was good. Didn't really enjoy the matcha lava toast, looks nicer than it tastes. Service could be better
A. D.
Love this Japanese fusion cafe! Staff are very friendly and they serve a good variety of brunch food. The matcha French toast is excellent, and would highly recommend their duck soba noodles
A. L.
Attracted by it’s warming environment, food and coffee is lovely. Very creative.
t. z.
When you entered the cafe, you will start having the feeling that the owner had put his /her heart in the business.
lobster congee strongly recommended.
The well-balanced seasoning made my tongue really busy, and the used of different ingredients gave you a really comprehensive texture when having it.
A. K.
Breakfast: Savory stuff were 5 stars. Best bacon I had! Matcha toast is okay. Have to wait a while for food though. Overall, definitely will go back.
L. G.
New cafe, really amazing!! All ingredients lovingly selected. Fine teas, coffee and hot chocolate. The food is excellent. The owners are hard working and dedicated to great service. Definitely the best coffee in the area
S. H.
One of the best cafes i've been to! I would recommend the granola for breakfast, it was so yummy! The staff are also really welcoming and made me enjoy the experience even more! Definitely give it a go!
Z. S.
A really nice Cafe that you can enjoy healthy food and special coffee there.
R. S.
Very nice weekday brunch. Every dish had a slight twist. They had run out of their home made bun. That was slightly disappointing.
I. H.
Fantastic service, good coffee and great food.
A. D. O.
Ordered a little too much here - everything looked so good! The thick matcha lava toast was 100% the highlight - loved the ooze! Absolutely delicious! And instagrammable too... #breakfast #melbournefood #cafe
N. Q. N.
Great Coffee and Food. The only suggestion is to lose the round tables and put small square tables in. You will get more people in and you can put them together to make bigger tables. Considering we were mainly tables of two waiting outside today, this would alleviate the wait time. 👍
S. S. A.
Had breakfast with single origin lb from Kenya. Really enjoyed the coffee, well sourced from rubenhills and perfectly prepared.
The katsu hotdog was really tasty too. Would love to come back again.
Y. S.
They have amazing food and coffee.
Must try and you can get such a wonderful day.
P. Z.
Coffee and service are not bad. The food looks good but the taste is disappointing. Lobster congee is too fishy and the matcha toast is too sweet.
G. P.
Waiting at door and service area with no service for 10 minutes. An estimate of when table is available would have helped us feel more welcome. Can't comment on food or coffee as ended up leaving.
山.
Great service, cute and comfortable seating and decor indoors. I got the crab omelette which was big, but tasted only okay. Wouldn't go more than once.
M. B.
Food was great. Always quick service. When you get takeaway, ask them not to put it on wax paper, as my sweet potato mash ended up being mixed in with the paper by the time we got home. Worth a visit.
D. A.
Amazing coffee art at this little gem of a Cafe with friendly polite staff.
W. T. T.
Loved the lobster congee, crab croissant, and matcha. Highly recommend these dishes and drinks.
m. d.
This is my local. It seems to cater for the Asian community and students. Food was average price and simple. Coffee was decent. Service was friendly and relaxed.
T. Y.
Great music, pleasant environment, best coffee in Sydney and really really beautiful food. Definitely won't find these dishes at your regular cafe :)
Highly highly recommend it.
S. B.
Dropped in for a quick coffee these guys serving Reuben Hills which is super tasty. They take their coffee seriously here they even cut a recess in their benchtop for the scale to weigh the coffee :O I'm not sure if it's practical but it's an A for effort and commitment!
A. H.
Nice place, fancy little dishes. Cool spot to Instagram some food but not somewhere that would call me back on a regular basis. Coffee is pretty decent.
K.
Friendly staff, lovely atmosphere in this cosy cafe on busy Elizabeth St. Food was tasty and well presented. I wish my coffee came with a bear design on the froth as per their photos! Boo.
K.
A beautiful, fresh dish and a good coffee in a bright sunlit cafe with friend staffs. Loved the cosy and lovely decor and shiny brand-new cutleries and tea pots. Well done on second day of opening. Keep up the good work!
C. R.
Interesting menu. I had the tonkatsu bento which was great, and the Ethiopian single O long back was spot on. My wife's congee was less appealing but I'm not a fan of congee
M.
Love this place. Friendly staff, great coffee, the Oatly oat milk is the best!
R. H.
Great brunch place near central station. The menu is fusion of Chinese and Australian brunch which produces great result in the end. Also loved the interior and the setting of the place.
C. T.
The service was excellent, and the food delectable. The waiting time could have been slightly shorter, but it was nonetheless a great brunch experience.
B. C.
Great fusion dishes with presentation and taste, good coffee tooʕ •ᴥ•ʔ
T. P.
Lovley food and coffee. In a easy to get to location not far from the station.
B. D.
Coffee was great, and so was this Japanese take on a hot dog!
K. B.

J. J.

M. B.
Very delicios breakfast, friendly service
A. C.
I finally had the lobster Congee that I keep hearing about on the weekend and it was amazing!
I. P.
Enjoyed the coffee. Flat white was a good strength and not too milky.
I will return to try A Bowl but poached eggs were good
H. W.
Cute little cafe. The iced coffee and cold brew is great, and the customer service is always good.
C. S.
Beautiful little cafe with modern interior and a Japanese fusion inspired menu. The crab egg croissant and matcha lava toast are a must try!
V. K.

D. C.

M. D.
Nice little cafe, fusion brunch was nice, Service was very slow but food was good.
D. K.
Delicious ceremonial grade matcha at it's best!
D. R.
A small cosy brunch restaurant hid in surry hills, super busy, waited an hour to get in, staffs friendly, foods are delicate and really tasty, plus they have seasonal menu, so always something new to expect every now and then.
F.
Tried this after it had gone viral. Tbh might be Instagram worthy but tasted really bad.
C. J.
Highly recommended Sydney cafe, sitting on a quiet street in Surry Hills, nice view from inside out. The decor is clean and fresh, food is excellent!!!!

The best chai latte in Sydney. Great breakfast and a very good service. I really love this place.

Great coffee and food.
E. C.
Cute little brunch spot in surry hills, pretty decent customer service and despite its busyness the wait for food isn't too long
K. C. D.
Food is nice and service was very good.
Though serving is too small for my big tummy but overall 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼
F. F.
Lovely Scandinavian design and great food - the staff seemed a bit disorganised, but this actually added to the charm of the place.
A. C.
Great Asian influenced food. Crab and scrambled egg croissant was excellent.
J. A.
Love love love the food here! Plus point: service was great and the food came out pretty quickly!
