Want your coffee with a view? Can’t get much better than here. Delicious coffee, great toasties and bacon egg roll, and quick pleasant service. We were here just as they opened on a Wednesday.
M.
My favourite place in the blue mountains. Solid refreshing food, exceptional views and the most satisfying bread I’ve had in a damn long time.
Make the trip. It’s worth it 🥰
A. B.
Delicious food (breakfast and lunch), tea and scones. Outdoor sitting with wonderful views. You can also buy locally grown veggies.

First time at this place. Very impressed. Nice view and great atmosphere. Surrounded by the spectacular of the Blue Mountains and was so happy with my favourite cappuccino and sweet one 😋
R. F.
A beautiful winding drive opens up to this lovely tea room among picturesque fields of cows.
We had fragrant tea with enormous fresh scones and lashings of cream and delicious homemade jam, and the BIGGEST apple pie! Well worth the food coma I'm now in... 😋

MVT is under new management as of quite recently. The welcome was warm and friendly and the service attentive and helpful. Food was really, really good - pot pies, toasties and scones, milkshakes and coffee. MTV still has the same rustic feel that I've loved for 30 years - very chilled garden setting in amongst the trees and birds, with kids playing and dogs hanging out. Great spot for country food and atmosphere!
C. H.
Organic food with a nice variety on the menu. I really enjoyed the fresh aromas of the herbs and garnishes. I'll definitely be coming back. It's also a really cool drive to get out there as you head down in the valley, through the rainforest.
H. C.
One of my favourite places to go each breakfast or lunch & to the morning sounds of the valley's birds. Very picturesque too.
Rustic farm style outdoor eating areas which allow you to enjoy the surrounding natural beauty & animals of the area. You'll get arge helpings, just like you expect with country homestyle cooking.
This is one of my regular go to places when I need some time out. It's just lovely & the food has always been terrific.
Just wish they stayed open longer on a weekend because it would be great to be able to have afternoon tea with visiting family here.

If your in Blue Mountains this is the perfect breakfast or lunch pit stop. Lots of options from the menu, soup was divine and the fruit scones are the best scones I’ve had in a long time. Set in a gorgeous setting amongst the trees too. I loved my afternoon here and will definitely be back.

Nothing much changes here. Good food, good service and friendly staff in a casual and laid back atmosphere. Sitting in the shade of a tree having lunch is a very civilised way to dine.
I had the farmers lunch and it was delicious. My wife said the seafood gnocchi was equally delicious. We finished off with scones with jam and cream and cup of coffee.
Wonderful!
B. H.
Great scones and breakfast rolls. Tranquil setting. Wasn't busy at all when we arrived. Dog friendly in the gardens
B. C.
Very beautiful country tea room with expanding views of the valley

Great place to enjoy the tranquillity of the Megalong Valley.
The food is of a good quality especially the Beef burgundy pie is very tasty and unique.
The milkshake is also perfectly blended with the generous serving size.
The plain scones bit small size but it is served with the marching jam.
The outdoor table will give you the best experience of enjoying the countryside lifestyle.
Credit card payment is available.

It was nice and lovely place. Specially loved the scones. The iced tea was great after a hot day bush walk.
I have to say I had a higher expectation though. The place was much smaller than what I imagined. If you are around there it worth a try but not that special to drive a long unless you want to enjoy the scenery on the way or some of the walks around the area.
B. R.
Beautiful and quiet “tea room” set in the countryside not far from the stunning bush drive from Blackheath. Own transport required to reach here. Lots of convenient parking. The tea rooms have many wonderful assistants serving your needs. The meals and drinks arrive very promptly upon being served. The meals, desserts and drinks are very tasty, generous and reasonably priced for the location. Family friendly atmosphere.

Every time we go to the blue mountains we make it a must stop! All Covid restrictions are complied with - amazing, fast and very professional service. The food is incredible! Of course the scones are a must try but all items on their menu are absolutely delicious. It is definitely worth a drive. The seating is mostly outdoors looking over a beautiful green field and some tree - so peaceful especially in the morning. tip- go for breakfast - on weekends they open at 9 am and we always show up around 9! It’s also pet friendly.
G. C.
Beautiful setting under the gum trees gazing up at the sandstone cliffs surrounding this valley. Plenty of outdoor seating and some indoor. Covid safe practices. Famous for scones but the lunch menu is good. The drive down from Blackheath is interesting and you can stop and do a walk in the tree ferned glens. Check out the giant milkshake!
D. S.
We had coffee, tea and scones here based on the good reviews (and there is not much around).
The scones are really good; the whipped cream and jam is amazing.
The cappuccino was good; the tea was fine (nothing special for 7.5$ pp)
Honestly, all three staff members that served us we’re not friendly at all! Not sure how that’s even possible.
I wouldn’t go back.
S. H.
The drive, the view, the food. Everything was excellent. Take yourself down the escarpment and enjoy

Best Potato Soup .... great country feel .. a nice detour from the highway for lunch. The road down into the valley is spectacular.

Wonderful stop. Megalong is a gorgeous area but the food was delicious enough to match it! Had some yummy fish and chips, a punchy salad, well made coffee and then those famous scones! There's a lot of love, it's a perfect place to stop for lunch or afternoon tea, and take in the idyllic location. Or even better, one stop before the wineries!

Fabulous and Fantastic place down in the valley for some relaxing brunch. The face to face service on the day was excellent. The staff were very helpful. We had doubt about the service given the interaction online but in person, the service was excellent. It was our second time back and we would defo love to visit again particularly on a sunny day. The scones are a must and to die for !! Divine !!
T. &. J. T.
Nice rustic find hidden away in the Megalong valley. Food was lovely and the scones were amazing. Was quite foggy when we went so we couldn't really appreciate the scenery, but the drive was lovely.
M. V.
Well what a drive this was. Make sure you have a tank of petrol and a steady hand as you make your way to this tea room. It's a fun drive down to the valley and there was plenty of parking. Got the Devonshire tea as it was a public holiday with a limited menu, it was a very nice setting and the staff were great and friendly. Hot chocolate was what I needed for the drive home well done on that one. It's a lovely drive with a nice place to rest and revitalise. I recommend to go to this place at least once.
T. Y.
very nice scones and tea
w. s.
Had to have our breakfast inside due to rain but still chilly as no heating, fire not working that day. Restricted menu atm. Eggs perfect but sauce on Benedict was awful. Think they had an accident with the mustard. Coffee was very good.
S. H.
The drive, the view, the food. Everything was excellent. Take yourself down the escarpment and enjoy
D. M.
Nice quaint cafe - good to visit if your doing hikes nearby. Their scones and apple pie were good but nothing special. We also got the Rueben sandwich which in my opinion was a bit expensive for what it was.
The seating is outdoors which is nice on a good day but there were also many flies and not all seats have shading. Unfortunately didn't get to see any farm animals roaming around.
J.
The best scones in NSW!
S. K.
We managed to get a seat very quickly. The Reuben we had was ok but the apple pie was the star of the show. The soup was also delicious on such a cold day. Service was friendly and attentive so worth the drive down.
S. F.
The scones here are great and always fresh - the jam is divine and homemade too. It’s lovely to sit under the trees and look out onto the valley. I would recommend going in the morning though as the afternoon gets very busy at the weekend. The drive down is really lovely and a visit to the tea rooms well worth putting on your todo list when visiting the blue mountains.
Only grumbles are that coupled with the price of a pot of tea it makes for a bit of a pricey Devonshire tea, and that they give the same amount of jam and cream for two serves of scones as they do for one serve which is never enough for me and my jam and cream loving hubby!
P. C.
Best Potato Soup .... great country feel .. a nice detour from the highway for lunch. The road down into the valley is spectacular.

Wonderful views, Delicious Food, Excellent Covid Compliance with takeaway service available only. Appreciated that we could still utilise the well spaced outdoor picnic tables. The self use rubbish station was genius and kept the area tidy. This small business should be congratulated on how well they have adapted to challenging and changing covid restrictions. Recommended to us by a local (Philip) for the best scones in the Valley ... and now a favourite of ours too. We will definitely be back 😄
P. L.
Roast veggie stack was out of this world. So tasty. Wife really enjoyed the gluten free prawn gnocchi. The coffee was amazing!
D. L.
Trying to make up for the one-star review you guys received. Your service was great, your COVID policies were accurate and your scones were absolutely delicious and perfect and worth every minute we drove to get there. Thank you for the great time.
J. M.
We had a lovely experience here. Quaint and welcoming atmosphere, positioned next to a paddock of sheep. Parking at the venue is available. We thought the food was great value and not expensive compared to typical Sydney CBD prices. The scones esp the savoury scone was immaculate - highly recommend you try them. Their coffee was very good too.
D. F.
Lovely outdoor setting and scenery! Great service, kid friendly, generous portions, we had scones and cheese cake, sweet stuff etc.. maybe not the most gourmet or flavoursome, but more hearty and big.
J. N.
I have regularly visited the Megalong Valley Tea Rooms for over 20 years and was keen to experience this old favorite now that it is under new management. There were several positive changes including a significantly expanded menu, refreshed dining area, wheelchair access and outdoor table service.
We had planned on having lunch but unfortunately the prices were just too expensive for serious consideration. Some examples: Ham, cheese & tomoto sandwich was $18. A sausage roll was $17:50 and pies were $19:50.
Instead we opted for the scones with cream and jam for $10:50 that this tea house is famous for. Sadly they have both changed the recipe aswell as reducing the scone serving from 3 to 2 (albeit with slightly larger scones). They were nice, but not as good as before.
The service was excellent, being very fast and friendly and the coffee was excellent.
Upon paying the bill they imposed a fixed fee $1 credit card surcharge despite this now being against regulations.
Overall I was disappointed, but that may be a result of expectation vs reality. I have such a fond attachment to this location and I will go back at some time to give it another go but given the abundance of great food options back up the road at Blackheath I really hope it delivers.
D. S.
OMG after a drive into the Megalong Valley we came across the Tea Rooms. Wonderfully friendly staff we didn't get there till 2.30pm so it was nice and quiet. The scones are to die for but the apple pie was something else. The highest pie l have ever seen much to my husband's delight. We will definitely go back with our family next time.
L. W. (.
Beautiful tea room surrounded by nature. The scones were freshly baked.. served with homemade blackberry jam.
R. H.
BEST scones in the mountains!! Eat and listen to the birds. Definitely worth the detour. Always great food, passionate service and beautiful setting. Home made jams, relishes, etc.
K.
I really appreciate how strict this venue is about COVIDSafe practices and was very disappointed to hear staff have been abused over that! We had a lovely afternoon tea and were pleased that in spite of the many challenges at the moment, the tea rooms were open and offering an eat in option
D. W.
Drove here 3 hours. Nice Mountain view. Food is ok. 10% Surcharge on Sunday.
e. b.
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Location, atmosphere, setting, staff and scones! This place is worth the drive and we cannot wait to go back! Love love love it this quant little bush tea room very Australian.
D. W.
Oh my gosh, beautiful we had soup & rolls so big, garlic bread garlic bread & we shared a home made lamington wth real fresh cream & home made jam .
Would love to come back!
E.
A lovely tea Room in a peaceful and picturesque location. The home made scones are delicious especially with the fresh and tasty home made jam (blackberry in our case) the perfect topping, oh and cream as well of course. The chai lattes were also nice and they have a good range of alternative milks. And all this looking over the countryside and sheep paddocks and relaxing in the sun.
E. M.
I make the trip out here from Sydney every year. There is nothing that compares with the stunning scenery and delicious food. The perfect destination for soul rest
C. K.
Hearty, wholesome and homey. Love coming to the Megalong Valley Tea Rooms and super excited that they are right on the border within 'Greater Sydney' so we can return soon!!
B. K.
Great way to spend an afternoon with some great tea & scones. Beautiful views of the plains & fields with birds and some farm animals in sight! About 25 mins from Scenic World.

5 ⭐ Food
5 ⭐ Service
5 ⭐ Atmosphere
An overall great breakfast. It's their busiest time of the year yet they still had the time to give you the service you expect. Highly recommended the scones!!
T. M.
Amazing scones. Can't say much more cause that's all I had. The people I was with however said the coffee was fair.
S. A.
Nothing fancy, but a great place for a bite. Scones and apple pie a favorite here. The drive down is absolutely stunning, see photos. Well worth a visit.
B. W.
This is a great cafe/restaurant. Worth the drive down from Blackheath into the Megalong Valley. Great atmosphere. Good service. Good food. Lots of parking in site and across the road. Outstanding view of the valley. Seating indoors and outdoors. Not far away from the cafe is the 600 metre walk along the Coachwood Glen Nature Trail - worth visiting while you're in the area.
L.
Great food and kids loved playing hide and seek and climbing trees in the open area
S. M.
Such a great spot. We drove from Sydney especially to spend some time relaxing in this picturesque setting for our breakfast. We shared the big breakfast, so much food but still left a bit of room for the famous scones. They taste home made, light and fluffy. Thanks team!
C.
Had the most wonderful time. Got there just after opening and sat looking up at the mountains. Was so nice to see them from a different perspective.
The breakfast was delicious and the scones were to die for. No negatives from our side.
Will definitely be back next time we are out that way.
10000% worth the drive on a good day foe the view and the food.
J. R.
A nice little tea room (actually quite big) down in Megalong Valley. They are under new management, and you can tell. The food and service has improved hugely. Plus the new owners finally take EFTPOS (it used to be cash only under the old owners - and it was a real drama, as who carries cash now days, and how can you predict how much you're going to need). Anyway, we had afternoon tea here. A glass of the Oakey Park Pale Ale by Zig Zag Brewery in Lithgow - a nice drop. I had the Banoffeelova - very yummy and refreshing on such a hot day. The wife had the Orange and Almond slice. All good tasting and yummy. The tea rooms have plenty of undercover space indoors, plus there is a huge outdoor area with heaps of tables. The tea rooms are kid and wheelchair/pram friendly. I'd certainly recommend eating here.
A.
Lovely apple pie and very delicious and large blueberry and apple crumple! The place was quite nice however given the price the service was a little slow and the staff were quite inattentive. Was overall a good experience. 3/5.
B.
Absolutely fantastic view especially when you go in in autumn. Staff are friendly and mostly outdoor seating when valleys around the Cafe.
W.
An absolutely stunning place to come in the early morning.
Scones were divine!
Unfortunately the Rainforest Magic tea was incredibly bitter, meanwhile the Silver Needle was far too light. Happy to overlook and try something else next time.
Regardless, I will definitely be back.
J. R.
A little gem of a cafe at the end of a beautiful winding road through rainforest. Good quality, honest food at honest prices.
J. L.
Great food, coffee and nice staffs. Wonderful vibe to be chill and enjoy nature. Definitely go again even it's in the valley 😂
G. H.
Beautiful setting with indoor and outdoor seating and a fire for the colder days. Service is great and staff are very helpful when explaining the dishes. We ordered the their famous scones 2 plain and 2 sultana with jam and cream, a smoked salmon toasted sandwich on Turkish with wasabi cream and salad, crispy panko prawns with crunchy potatoes and fresh salad and vegan vege hash and a fried egg which was and assortment of roast veges with beans. All the dishes were huge and could easily be shared if you want to go that way. Everything was delicious, delicious food!!! The scones were as light as a cloud and warm. Everything else was hot fresh and tasty. For a little tea room hiding away in Megalong Valley it is well worth the drive down the windy hill. The outdoor setting is idilic and a place where you could enjoy a beautiful long lunch on a fine day. We will be back!!!!
M. D.
Friendly service, quite good value. Lots of room and facilities. Hash and fritters were delicious, beef burgundy pie was AMAZING. Shown is Spiced rum chai latte, definitely worth a try.
M. C.
Love a ploughman's lunch!
S. M.
Delicious scones, with generous jam and cream. Lovely tea, and a decent milkshake to boot! All nestled in the beautiful Megalong Valley. Got there at 3pm, and enjoyed the golden hour autumn sun. Loved it.
K. W.
The scones were honestly life-changing, the tea was delicious. There are many bold birds around the outside dining area though, so recommend eating indoors if you've got a fear of birds.
S. H.
Great food, friendly staff. Good covid safety.
Very pretty area
J. O.
Get the scones with tea. Well worth the trip of driving here.
T. Y.

Scones fresh and light and warm, perfectly whipped thick cream, chunky blackberry jam, gorgeous bush setting. Whomever made these scones truly cares. What more could one want?!
M. P.
Nice food, good service and beautiful view.
R. M.
Great spot for morning tea. Do yourself a favour and go to this place when you are visiting Blue Mountains area.
M. C.
Well worth the drive just for the scones and jam let alone the rest of the menu (huge wine list if thats your thing)... or for that matter the beautiful view of the valley.
I had the brekky burger last trip and it was delish!.
D. L.
Great food and a lovely place to eat in the grounds of the Tea House. Also a lovely drive to get there.
J. H.
We had a Devonshire tea and milkshakes. Usually I would order tea with my scones but the menu indicated that the milkshakes were really good - and they were! The milkshake was the best I've had in many years, the scones (2 huge scones per serve) were delicious and the fabulous blackberry jam was topped by fluffy whipped cream. Overall, it was the best Devonshire tea my daughter and I have ever had!
J. J.
I kick myself for not taking photos of the most glorious afternoon. It was a lovely drive out and everything was perfect.
k. g.
Man that's a delicious and whopper slice of apple pie. Perfect with a tea on a chilly afternoon. And well worth the scenic drive to get to it.
J. S.
Amazing place. Great coffee. Great drive to get there. And the scones are wow!

What can I say AMAZING Tea and scones, ( just like grandma use to make) also the breakfast is massive and worth stopping for.

Scones are amazing 👍👍

R. J.
Scones are great and the breaky burger. Nice place to sit after camping.
P. M.
Service and the tea and scones were exceptional
N. C.
Not bad, but not the best scones in my humble opinion
J. L.
Excellent place to stop for lunch. Ploughmans is enough for two people, with the duck liver pate 👌👌. Get a set of scones on the side and enjoy the weather!
G. M.
The spectacular drive down along Megalong Road to the valley floor below, through primeval rainforest before emerging into farmland is worth it alone. Then being able to sit outside among gum trees at rustic tables enjoying the fresh country air really encourages the appetite. The food is good, all home made or from local farmers and the serves are huuuge! This is a wonderful place to take visitors to the Blue Mountains. Plenty of room for kids to run around and explore. A 20 minute drive from the town of Blackheath and you find yourself a world away from hectic modern life.
J. S.
Amazing place. Great coffee. Great drive to get there. And the scones are wow!
R. J.
Scones are great and the breaky burger. Nice place to sit after camping.
E. A.
Unlike some reviewers that only post negative reviews, I thought this place was just the bees knees, really nice location, the Devonshire tea ( well coffee ) was almost as good as my wife's - just had our 42nd anniversary so she has had some experience cooking😁 plenty of parking and just the right level of interaction from the staff ✴✴✴✴✴
A. B.
Highly recommend this place! My partner and I arrived for a late lunch on Wednesday, after reading the menu we were already planning our next visit. After finishing our meals, our next visit was planned for breakfast the next day!
Over the two visits we ate, the Reuben sandwich, Beef Burgundy pie, Apple pie, Scones, Brekkie burger and the Morrocan Veggie Hash. Everything was so delicious and the staff were all so lovely, even when super busy.
Thank you for such delicious and welcoming visits. We'll be back on our next visit!
J. A.
Hubby and I shared the Moroccan hash and a bacon eggs benny and it was the most delicious breakfast! Absolutely fantastic. The Japanese morning tea was lovely and fresh as well. Beautiful scenery and a fun little drive to get to. Loved it.
I. O.
Really pleasant quiet setting, after driving down from Blackheath - which was so lovely through the trees and forrest. The food is delicious and it is such a wonderful country area.
C. T.
We had a wonderful stop by this place. Food, coffee and scones were incredible and the service was super fast and friendly. It was also really reassuring to see that they are taking COVID-19 restrictions very seriously. I’m really disappointed to see people in the reviews taking issue with them doing so, as I can’t imagine it would be easy to be running a hospitality business at the moment and they’re truly doing an excellent job!
We hope to be back soon!
R. B.
Wow. Nice place. Scones were the best ive had for ages. Great range of teas and good coffee too. On s sunny summers day it was definitely a highlight.
M. H.
Check out the scones........so delicious
P. B.
Love it here! The staff are lovely and the food is fantastic. Great drive down into the valley with amazing views!
S. K.
The best place! Drove over 2 hours, and every moment was worth it. Still to this day I remember the amazing flavours of the food exploding through my body. I have been around the world, and this place holds the number 1 spot for the best food ever!
And the service was absolutely great!
I. R.
Great place with indoor and outdoor seating.. Yummy food, great coffee, tea and scones.. friendly staff.. Amazing views
T. T.
Best thing we did in the Blue Mountains. Beautiful spot, and the option for outdoor seating was really nice.
The scones were the best we had on our trip (yes, we had multiple - it's holidays!), and the service was friendly. It was also very obviously COVID-safe with plenty of space, and great cleaning practices
R. H.
Staying just down the road at Dryridge Estate we decided to eat out for breakfast and a sensational way to start your day
N. S.
Beautiful and scenic drive down to the Tea Rooms. Totally AMAZING Scones. Never had better. Delicious Apple Pie too. Lovely to sit outdoors if weather permits.
I. T.
Great seating outside under the shade of trees. They state Scones are their specialty. They where right. You get 2 massive Scones with a big bowls of Cream and Jam.
M. P.
I always enjoy coming to the Megalong Valley Tea Room. The food is enjoyable and the outdoor sitting on a breezy day is lovely. Their scones + homemade jam is wonderful. I cant wait to come back again soon.
G. G.
Had a lovely day in the Blue Mountains, topped off by a slice of their scrumptious apple pie with a dollop of cream. I'd say it was more like a mega-dollop of cream, wow so much for the diet. The lamb shepherd's pie was also delicious. I've had this same apple pie a number of times over the last 30+ years of visiting the Tea Rooms and it never ceases to delight me, always bringing back accumulated wonderful memories of sharing the experience of visiting Megalong Valley and the Team Rooms, with family & friends. The coffee was also delicious. The waiter (very good service) told me they are using Bun Coffee beans from Byron Bay. So now, much to my wife's chagrin, I have to go source that bean for my home machine. :-). Thank you Team Rooms.
M. C.
Recovering after surgery my wife took me for a drive. I was restricted in what I could eat, I had roast garlic, Curry and pumpkin soup. The soup was delicious, it was served with a sourdough roll which looked fantastic. My wife chose the flatbread which she enjoyed. She took home some scones with jam and cream which she described as tasty. We enjoyed our visit to the Megalong Valley Tea Rooms. We intend to come back again after I recover, and I am looking forward to exploring more of the menu on our next visit.

An oasis in the wilderness. We discovered the tea rooms by chance while delivering a piece of furniture to a house in the never never of the valley.
Basically it is an old weatherboard free standing house with an outdoor eating area overlooking a paddock with sheep which was nice for some from the inner city like me..
The decor was smart, clean and casual plus the service was good. The food was relatively expensive for what it was. My chicken and mushroom pie had lots of air, very little chicken and little mushroom and was rather poor value. My colleague seemed to do better with his 'lamb burger'.
There was an excellent selection of teas including Russian Caravan which you can buy the loose leaves to enjoy at home.
If I was in the valley again I would give it another go. Like I said it is an oasis.
A. D.
OMG what a great place ! Of the beaten track away from the tourist stuff up the hill !
Lose leaf high quality tea with scones and home made jam are the best
Nice to meet Simon what a friendly host and the staff are all very helpful. Pushing are big order thru 10min before they close
a. n.
These guys know their food!
Everything was exceptionally good, particularly the reuben with the french onion soup! As was the wonderful, friendly staff who served us and made us feel welcome. Will be back again soon. Great quality food for a great price.
P. W.
The most beautiful place I've seen in 12 years Australia. Great food. Nice and friendly people. A peaceful place with a beautiful landscape. I enjoyed every second like a little holiday. Let you wish to stay permanent. Looking forward too to come back.
H. M.
We came here and the service was terrible. Everything in the menu was fixed and they wouldn’t allow for any changes (even the bacon and egg rolls were pre-made). They were playing trance music which completely destroyed the vibe and all the staff had bad attitudes. The prices are also quite high. The area and decor are nice and the food was quite good too.
J. J.
I kick myself for not taking photos of the most glorious afternoon. It was a lovely drive out and everything was perfect.

Delicious home cooked meals. We were absolutely satisfied with our lunch, followed by the scones. Service was great and food arrived quickly.....if we did have to wait however, that would be fine with us! It's such a relaxing environment to just sit back and let time go by. A must do!..... if you are in the Blue Mountains.
J. V.
Lovely place. Food is great. Little sleepy service but it makes up for it in every other way. Scones are incredible
T. B.
My wife and I took the mother in law to the tea rooms for a mothers day sweet snack and coffee. Coffees were great and the snacks were excellent and a massive size to match. The sweets were a meal in themselves really. If it is a nice enough day to sit outside the views of the megalong valley are amazing, but if not the wood fire sets a great atmosphere on a winter's day.
Great place
k. g.
Man that's a delicious and whopper slice of apple pie. Perfect with a tea on a chilly afternoon. And well worth the scenic drive to get to it.
S. C.
Absolutely the best place ever! Amazing service, very busy but moving very well. Didnt wait long for service or food and coffee. So impressed, will definitely drive the 3hrs to come here again
P. M.
Service and the tea and scones were exceptional

We really enjoy a trip to these tea rooms for breakfast. It’s such a peaceful location and we love sitting outside under the trees. Coffee is great and staff friendly. Food is good. I would give 5 stars, except I find the eggs over poached and bacon too cooked for my liking - despite informing the staff of how I like them. But hey small complaint at an otherwise perfect place!
A.
Best scone ever, best presentation, handmade whipped cream, good quality jam. Impressive selection of tea. Fantastic view. Would recommend during sun light to see the view. Coffe was horrible though. Do not order coffee over there, only tea.
E. S.
Always love coming here, the drive in and the view is spectacular. Love when they have live music. This coupled with the warm blankets and friendly staff make for a wonderful experience every time. Food is always great. Tends to be a bit more on the pricey side but i would say that you're paying for the location and being so far out. Definitley worth it.
L. M.
Very good burgurs and a great view!
S. G.
Megalong Valley is like being in another world, away from all the chaos. The Tea room is a great little place which my wife and I enjoyed our breakfast and ofcourse some nice tea. Staff service was excellent.
E. M.
The best cafe in the Blue Mountains. The tea rooms are set down in the Megalong valley amongst the paddocks and cliff faces. There is ample seating both inside and out with a mix of furniture styles giving it a relaxed feeling. The staff are amazing, always so friendly and welcoming. The food is amazing although I always tend to order the savoury scones (they are to die for!). If you're visiting the mountains please go here, you won't regret it!
D. H.
Great way to spend morning tea or lunch. Tea selection is great however most varieties they sell packaged you can buy from anywhere. Not any unique blends available.
S. S.
Went for the first time to the tea rooms with 2 families and children. A bit of drive from the mainstream commercial hub down the twisty road into the valley.
There's no entry and exit sign and parking within the property can be tricky if there are older people, for us there was no issue just parked outside on the road.
Staff not around to direct people where to sit and the door to the inside of the cafe needs quite a push to get in and saw that the staff were also having trouble opening it.
The scones which was our motive to drive there were okay and you get better scones in Sydney if only you want to come for the scones. The 1956 apple pie was good and the tea was just as per normal nothing special. The coffee was okay and again not that great and if you make the right coffee then it can be really good.
The table was covered with white butcher's paper so it was a bonus for kids to draw and write.
Also ordered the vegetarian pies but had run out, so options for vegetarians were quite limited.
On the plus side the toilets were quite clean and which makes quite a difference with young kids.
just because of the name, the drive down to the valley and photo ops from below makes it worth a visit once only.
A. K.
A unique and beautiful location. Eating outdoors on a fine day is not to be missed. The food and the coffee are great too. It's certainly become very popular on weekends so it can get quite busy around lunchtime The food isn't cheap but you do get what you pay for. I'm looking forward to going back. Definitely recommended.
R. W.
Lovely little cafe tucked away at the bottom of the Megalong Valley. The drive there is scenic and beautiful. Unfortunately we arrived a little too late for the main food menu but we did get some cakes and coffee - amazing food with friendly service. Highly recommend the apple pie.
J. F.
Stopped here during a Sunday explore of our now local area! It was absolutely lovely - the setting was perfect with lots of options for sitting inside or outside with heaters and blankets etc. A little garden area for children to explore in. Despite being busy the service was excellent and the coffee very good. Couldn't find fault with this place and we will hopefully be regualrs now and will work our way through a delicious looking menu!
P. W.
We really enjoyed our experience here, it's just a delight to find a nice friendly cafe in a bush setting. It's an authentic country experience and not styled within an inch of its life. Lovely to sit out in a paddock soaking up the winter sunshine, sipping tea served with delicious warm banana bread. We'll be back.
A. R.
Atmosphere was nice with the wood and close to nature. Coupled with blankets and pillows to make for a really nice breakfast. Food on the whole was very yummy. Scones were a little dry but the jam and cream was delicious.
The customer service was odd. Very rigid couldn't order additional items without completing a special process. It was as though if you didn't order it when I took your order you weren't allowed it because it destroyed my process of putting the order slip in your bucket at your table. Now there are two slips and the world won't survive.
L. D. F.
We visited on Sunday 2 Aug. Gorgeous place and really nice food.
Covid is not making things easy for anyone. However, that does not justify that our bill had two surprises: a GST amount addition (you have just learnt menu prices did not include it) + a 10% surcharge not clearly mentioned or explained anywhere either (Sunday?). Paying is fine, but be transparent please. It's the principle, not the extra cent.
It's becoming more frequent to get such "tricks" lately, and most of us don't even realise it. A shame, as it is a stunning area indeed, and most businesses are still mostly fair.
S. C.
We only came down for a cup of tea but the views made it totally worth it. Friendly staff, amazing views and unpretentious. We didn't eat but the food we saw served looked hearty and delicious. True, the toilets are very rustic and the drive down into the valley is not for the faint hearted but we'd definitely come back next time we're in the mountains!
K. C.
Five of us had a very enjoyable lunch at the tea rooms last weekend. We really appreciated the warm fireside table, service and food were good (I personally thought the pie was great). Our only complaint was that the coffee was pretty weak, but otherwise a very pleasant experience.
A. A.
Absolutely fantastic. Food was great. Scones are a must! Scenery and atmosphere is amazing too.
D. C.
We missed lunch, so only scones were available but they were quite satisfactory, generous amounts of cream and very nice blackberry jam. Beautiful surroundings and drive from Blackheath. Also serve alcohol, so was nice to have a little beer and look at the scenery too. Worth the drive if you're staying in Blackheath 👌
(Also check out Mermaids Cave on your way back!)
M. P.
Excellent country tea rooms with yummy meals
M. S.
Such a great place. Calm and tranquil atmosphere, delicious food and scones to die for! Staff are exceptional, very helpful and friendly. Always a pleasure to dine here !
S. C.
Beautiful hidden little gem at the base of Megalong Valley. A lovely drive from Blackheath. Magnificent meals and coffee was spot on.
H. &. H. W.
Brilliant location. Beautiful views as you drive down into the valley. A good menu selection. The staff are very friendly and there seems to be a lot of seating outdoors for when the weather is decent. Will definitely go back here when visiting the mountains.
M. K.
A must do if you are in the Blue Mountains. Not only is the food fantastic (make sure you leave room for a scone) but you can buy some of the best jams ever. And the setting is just beautiful and so relaxing
E. C.
Enjoying scones accompanied by the driving beats of drum and bass was amazing (music isn't loud, don't worry). Could do with a little more cream as the scones are massive.
V. E.
Loved the Hash breakfast meal, absolutely beautiful would recommend highly. Lovely young waitress, but unfortunately I am lactose intolerant and I received the wrong drink, making my experience a little unpleasant. But still recommend the place, I'm sure that was a one off and want happen again.
E. B.
JUST FABULOUS!! Went 2 consecutive days as after the first round of famous scones we had to go back for a savoury meal! Impeccable, friendly service in a beautiful setting with absolutely delicious feeds.
L. J.
Lovely menu, very friendly service & great views! Glad they now have EFTPOS facilities :)
D. L.
In the Blue Mountains for a girl's weekend and we had brunch at the Tea Room yesterday. A lovely experience, the food and service were excellent. The waiter even ran my phone out to me at the car almost before I had missed it.
R. M.
I have been going to this place for many years, sometimes on our own or sometimes with a group of motorcyclists. I'm always happy with the service and the meal. Sit outside under the trees on warm days, and sit inside near the fire on cold days. It's very much out of the way and offers a unique setting in beautiful surroundings.
M. N.
What a great little eatery! Meals arrive in a reasonable time, excellent quality, adequate quantity and served with a cryptic comment from David, the manager. We will certainly find an excuse to go back.
G. W.
Such a lovely spot. The simplified Covid menu means you get your order quickly so that even though the menu is limited, it is quick and delicious.
p. m.
Laid back and a wonderful country atmosphere
I love the scones
P. J.
Great food set in the beauty of the Megalong Valley the best Devonshire teas in the Blue Mountains
C. T.
Wonderful for a relaxing meal with friends. Scones amazing - made today, meals large and good for sharing but very fresh and artistically presented. Altogether a wonderful experience.
S. G.
Many thanks to the staff here. Have eaten here a couple of times now. Terrific breakfast and lunch. Lovely quiet setting, with Wattyl Birds and Crows providing great entertainment.
M. D.
This establishment has been in the one family since 1930.
A spectacular outlook serving the best tea and scones, home-made pies and several other item.
The drive down from Blackheath to the tea room is stunning.
H. P.
An old tea room with a great Aussie menu. Have to come here for scones. It's a bit expensive but I still love coming here and bringing relatives when we go to the blue mountains.
N. B.
Excellent food. Slightly over priced due to remote area but lovely outside seating, excellent and friendly service and very generous portion sizes. Ask for an iced tea with.milk...perfect on a hot day!
j. c.
The food there are ok, they told me that they have a menu for winter, and one for summer. However, there places look very relax and very close to the nature, just under the tree... Depends on the seasons... If you dont like seating outside in the winter, you could seat inside with a hot real fire place inside the restaurant.... Place good for couple or family.
Last not the least, the people works there very friendly and nice.
K. G.
Always a fantastic lunch spot 👍
R. H.
Extremely lovely surrounds, worth the drive with great staff and a wide variety of food and drink, plenty of outdoor tables amongst the trees
R. T.
Excellent ! Don't let other negative reviews about service put you off. They are so efficient and clean in terms of covid so they need to be strict and actually they are all so friendly and helpful. The location is AMAZING and the food is delicious. Thank you team ❤️
G. D.
Stopped for lunch with our best friends and tour guide Scott Rickets.
Great food with very cold local beer on a hot , 41 degree C day.
With out a doubt, a eatery not to miss
G. K.
A must as so yummy.
m. p.
Beautiful location, love the tranquility of the farmstead as well as the real Australian feel the place brings. To accompany that was an amazing Shepard's pie and fine English Earl Gray tea.
S. C.
What can i say, the most delightful cafe around. The scones well,,,shut up and take my money. Bloody great food and service, well worth the trip
W. L.
Stopped here to recharge for the drive home and boy were we lucky we did! Not only did we get an educational spiel from the lovely bald server about how environmentally horrible tea bags are, but this establishment does not skimp on the cream. I had a whole bowl of it to myself to eat with a slice of chocolate cake. I don't think i've ever seen that much cream in my short life time let alone have it served as a "condiment" for my cake. No complaints there though. Needing to reconnect with nature while indulging in lashings of cream? This is right up your alley. It's next to a bloody sheep ranch how awesome is that???
Only downside is that they're charging inner city prices for a little ranch cafe in Megalong Valley
N. J.
One word brilliant! Went there with a large group of people. Service was great. Staff was friendly. Food was amazing. We all ordered but were in envy of what the other person had ordered. Definitely worth the visit and will go back again.
d. w.
This was a beautiful place to stop. Really freindly. A beautiful spot in the middle of the valley and surrounded by farms. Lots of soace for the kids to run around leaving mum and dad in peace with a wine.
Dad had the ploughmans”s lunch which was delicious and huge and would have fed most of the family.
Mum had a vegetable wrap which would have fed the while family. By all accounts very tasty.
Kids had pies which disappeared. Followed by home made scones and jam. Also disappeared.
Pluses everything - believe the hype
Negatives: nothing
M. S.
Great setting, great people, sumptuous food (must have scones) - a must visit if you have some free time around Katoomba / Blackheath
S. C.
Absolutely lovely, and the best scones I've ever had👍👍
N. L. (. B.
Good pit stop in the Blue Mountains. Service is excellent and food is absolutely amazing. Definitely try the scones with homemade jam.
R. L.
Lovely scones, cream and jam! The tea is delicious too.
B.
Been hear a few times, meals are great, our dog loves it too. During the week seated outside watching the sheep wondering was so relaxing.
M. K.
Been here a few times, so it must be a wonderful place to gather your friends and have a bite to eat, so worth the trip. The apple pie 🥧 is a must!
K. S.
Dog friendly, plenty of seating at tables in the shade. Delicious food catering for GF and Vegan as well. Lovely iced coffee and deserts too. Friendly, obliging staff.
R. I.
Wow. Such a beautiful place and excellent service. You can also enjoy a glass of wine with your lunch. It worths to drive there
J. A.
We stopped in for a morning coffee and tea, the location is stunning and the service was reasonable. The coffee and tea was good as well.
As it was a Sunday they had a 10% surcharge which made it an expensive bill for 3 drinks which is a bugger. I would avoid going back on a Sunday due to this.
g. s.
Great location, beautiful setting and nice to sit outside. Food was pretty average though, chicken and well a dot of avocado, with rice, if you could find it and lots of salad and hardly any dressing. Hmm could have been better alot better.
D. W.
there is always someone who dislikes change of any kind but isn't change necessary and inevitable? The new owners Simon and wife Lisa have sunk a lot of money into ... new coffee machine - new ovens, new fridges and a sympathetic fit out to the history and tradition of the building, installation of a wheelchair ramp, as well as renewal of the gardens and plantings of bulbs for spring! If anything the quality of the coffee, scones, pies and the overall menu has improved dramatically and service has certainly been sped up with new systems of ordering and TABLE service put in place. Incidentally complaints about prices might just indicate how little some people might actually dine/snack out and WHERE they might do so ... As a local person, I happily refer people to experience The Megalong Valley Tearooms and support the considerable amount of physical effort and financial expenditure invested in this upgrade. Incidentally references to "sashimi", "fancy menus" and "asian flavours" are totally incorrect as anyone perusing the menu (do it online) can see and might in fact suggest confused memory recall :) YES it gets busy ... but exercising a little patience might help there .... what some customers don't seem to get is that they are not the ONLY ones there (especially those people who wish to deconstruct and reconstruct a menu at obviously busy times).
C. S.
Awesome brekkie. Super funny waitress that told us about their fresh water but couldn't serve any to us. We vad our woolies water with us though. All good vibes.
S. P.
You must stop here! The location is tucked away with views which are amazing. The pies are big and hearty! Vicky was just lovely! Bit pricy, but I think with everything considered it is worth it as a treat! Thank you!
W. A.
Scones are delicious.
Place is relaxing.
If they have almond or macadamia milk that will be great.
A. G.
They know their scones and do a killer Devonshire tea...yes, killer was the adjective of choice.
You'll understand that once you've had a seat in the sunny garden and tucked into the freshly baked scones with cream, jam and a cup from the wide selection of teas that you'll be able to die happy.
B.
Great food and fast service even though they were very busy. Well worth the trip down there for a feed.
D. C.
Best devonshire tea I've ever had. Huge delicious scones, loads of jam, loads of cream. Coffee was good too. Worth the drive down the hill.
I. K.
Had a beautiful brunch on a sunny sunday morning. Scones were great. Apple pie was alright. The shepherds pie was exceptional. WOW.
A. M.
Always a fantastic place to visit, a must when I'm the hunter valley. Plenty of parking and indoor/outdoor seating. Fantastic outdoor area, with benches in shade under gum and willow trees. Sconces are a house speciality.
L. P.
The Best Scones on the Planet by far : )
No longer the "best kept secret" ...
Before you arrive, you travel down from Blackheath, through a rainforest setting - lovely!
An authentic Australian Experience (rustic and unique)
There is something for everyone:
Young and Old, Inside and Outside, Kids, well behaved pooches and so much more ...
They now have a licence so one could view this as a Tea Garden and/or Bear Garden ... which ever, it is well worth the visit. Ah! not to forget - the cosy fire inside ...
Think of it Beer and Scones - Yum!!!
Y. M. S.
Lovely place for an afternoon tea. The Scones are amazing. The cheeses and other cold cuts were delicious. Worth the drive.
S. (. B.
Wonderful place with proper gluten free menu options (not just hot chips). Had the gluten free corn fritters which were just delicious. Beautiful surroundings. An amazing place!!!
S. M.
Simple but tasty menu, good choice of drinks. Lovely outdoor restaurant
S. S.
Great scones

K. C.
The food was good. The tea was delicious. Definitely recommend a trip into the valley for this treat! 😋
R. W.
Relaxing country tea house nestled in the trees. Great scones.
M. W.
If you want tea and scones in a cosy setting without paying a useless premium, this place is perfect! Exactly what we wanted. The jam is amazing
A.
Went there today with the family and while it was a lovely location and a couple of the staff members where nice (especially the guy who took our order) everybody else was quite rude. We asked if we could have the outdoor heaters turned on as it was very cold outside and we had a large group that included kids so we did need extra space and we asked a staff member who said he would ask the manager to turn them on, 20 mins later no manager had come out to turn them on so we asked a young girl who actually rolled her eyes when we tried to grab her attention. She obviously did not want to be bothered. The manager arrived, again, seemed as if we were a bother. Lunch was over $200 and we asked to split the bill, the girl making coffees had a dirty look on her face when we asked to split the bill, she turned to the manager who said something under his breath so we ended up just putting it on one card because it was obviously too much of a hassle. We were there with family who had positive experiences in the past but for my first time there, I would not be back in a hurry. I understand they were busy but if you can't handle what seemed to be normal Sunday traffic, maybe you should hire extra staff so that your customers aren't met with eye rolls and dirty looks.
Hi Simon,
Not sure if you'll see this response but hopefully you do.
Thank you for your response. I completely get that you guys were swamped, to be honest, the wait time for the food wasn't even an issue. The time passed by really quickly and waiting for the heaters to be lit also wasn't an issue, it was the reactions and service we got from the two girls that was a little disappointing. Laura didn't actually even try and explain anything, she looked annoyed by our simple question before turning to you to ask, If she had said "look I'm really sorry but we don't split bills", it wouldn't have been such an issue but it was her reaction and service from the moment we walked up to pay that was little cold. I found this to be the same with the other girl clearing the table when we asked about the heaters. The two waiters were lovely and the coffee was great. I just wanted to point out my experience and hopefully your staff can take this on board.
A. F.
Chicken pie was so delicious!
K. O.
Rural Cafe in the heart of the Megalong Valley. Surrounded by pastures with a backdrop of the multi - hued sandstone cliffs and chasms typical of the Blue Mountains.
Plenty of options for short strolls or longer hikes on the Six Foot Track.
U. R.
Came here with my husband, Frank and dear friend Noi. Was not disappointed. The food was lovely, with lots of choice. The staff were very friendly and helpful. A great place worth visiting.

Very rustic, food was Okay, nothing special. Wait staff friendly.

It's a great day trip and a good place to visit. Have been coming over 20 years and has changed alot. Good place, but being so isolated in a tourist spot gives them the right to charge through the absolute nose these days.
