A warm and cosy corner cafe perfect for a lovely brunch or maybe a quick munch ! Their pulled-beef burger was scrumptious with a hint of spice, paired with perfectly-cooked sweet potato wedges. The ricotta pancakes were soft and fluffy, and their carrot mix juice was freshly squeezed ! - Super refreshing and good for you ! Went on a quiet weekday and did not wait too long for the food. Overall, had a wonderful experience. Lovely staff and delicious food. Would love to come back ! :)

BEST COFFEE IN THE CITY I have been working in the city for many years and have tried various coffee's from different locations. Motown coffee is by far the best. I love how they give a choc wafer with every coffee. Very modern cafe with friendly staff and fast service. Their food is delicious too! Highly recommend and will definetly be back :)

Iced mocha really good and they are friendly.

The service seemed unnecessarily slow, but I really enjoyed the chilli prawn pasta (prawns were not overcooked) and the coffee is good. Fresh flowers at each table was a lovely touch. On the day, there was construction nearby, nothing to faze a city rat. Come on a weekend, and it is easy enough to pick a nice table.

I love their coffee. Has the right taste and temperature. Mick - who makes the coffees, is great to talk to. They have some great options for breakfast and lunch. Motown is usually a busy place during the mornings. The staff is kind and helpful. Overall a great place for coffee catch-ups or even a business meeting.

A great city Cafe which does decent coffee and breakfast. Prices are reasonable averaging between $15-20. We attend frequently and have not been disappointed. They're usually open around 7:15am with plenty of seating but be warned they do tend to fill fast. If you're just wanting your morning hit of coffee they also have a takeaway window for convenience, so don't be alarmed by any queue. The staff are friendly and usually quick. The only con is the venue is a bit pokey in winter due to their heaters and tent but otherwise its fine.

I visited Motown coffee brewers for a late lunch recently. The outside seating was lovely and the service was great. It was nice that they were happy to add felafel to a salad instead of grilled chicken as advertised on the menu. Only one very slight criticism is that there was too much oil on the dressing for my liking, but still a very delicious salad overall. I would return to this café 🥗

The flat white I had, although beautiful did not have a very nice flavor a little bit weak and bitter, no depth of flavour. Perhaps the filter coffee was the way to go? We saw a few other tables with individual french presses that looked really cute. Sandwiches were yummy though:)

Use to be my go-to coffee place when I worked around there. Strong piccolos made by the owner/barista, Mick who is always friendly and chatting to customers waiting for their coffee. Absolutely incredible breakfast and coffee. While on this trip we had coffee all over Melbourne but none of it was as good as our cappuccinos this morning. We all ordered a second coffee because it was just that good. Breakfast (“non bread lovers”, “açaí bowl” and “brekkie plate”) was fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented. My dad is gluten free and they even had GF sourdough bread- he was thrilled. My husband had the breakfast burger and that was probably the only thing that wasn’t noteworthy so he’s going to skip that when we come back tomorrow.

The filter coffee is pretty bad (compared to others in the area like Skittle Lane, Mecca,…), but the food is so good I'm still giving it a 5/5. We were drawn to this place on Australia day as we could smell the delicious coffee walking down the street! Its conveniently located, offers excellent coffee, great atmosphere with in - and outdoor seating. It also has a wide range of tasty dishes at a reasonable price as well as lots of delicious little treats that are presented nicely. It has become my go to place when ever i am in the city.

This was one of the best açaí bowls I’ve ever had!! It was so flavorful and the fruit was fresh. The mocha I got was one of their specials, the Nutella mocha, it wasn’t quite my cup of tea. There was just chunks of Nutella floating around in it so I was stirring constantly and aggressively before taking a sip. The location and atmosphere of this place was great, so if I’m ever back in Sydney I would for sure go here again!

We go here for lunch whenever we are in Sydney. The food and drinks are very good. Today, it proved a problem paying afterwards as the waitress who was serving us was more interested in chatting up the barista than taking money from me. Some attention to customer service is required.

Summary: great place for a coffee, the baristas are consistent, you will always get the same great tasting coffee everyday. Only downside are the queues that sometimes stretch outside the door, leaving little space inside! I work closely to Motown and go there everyday for my morning coffee. From visiting the 5 or 6 other coffee places around Motown I have decided to continue going here. The staff are friendly and the baristas are the same nearly everyday, so you end up getting the same great coffee. The atmosphere is also really cozy, it is unfortunate that it can get so busy at times, leaving no space inside to sit down. Definitely recommend this place for coffee and something small to eat, one of the best places for coffee in the city.

If you’re after a quick CBD breakfast then Motown delivers with its efficient and friendly service. There’s a good range of breakfast options on the menu and the only thing that lets Motown down is its coffee. Overall the breakfast was good and if the coffee was better it would have been great.

A weekend brunch with all the bits you want and none of the extravagant frills. Prices are very reasonable on all items. Coffee is always on point and a flat white doesn't come out like a cappuccino without sprinkles. Also good for a quick get away breakfast on the go, but if you're pulling one of these during the week, consider the business customers will add up for a little wait.

1 of the few cafes which open early on a sunday in the area, we initially just wanted coffees but ended up ‘sharing’ some scrambled eggs n toast 3/5. On a clear mild day, i imagine it would be quite pleasant to sit out on the ‘deck’. On the flip side, it can get quite drafty even indoors on a cold windy day. Coffee came out warm despite requesting it to be hot but tasted fine.

Actually great coffee and I'd give this four stars if it wasn't so bloody cold in Winter. It's just plastic sheets enclosing an outside area and the wind rushes through the many gaps. The strange thing is they have those gas burners that in many other places usually work and allow smokers in Melbourne to sit in outside cafes and still keep warm in Winter. The ones here just seem decorative at best.
