I love the matcha ice cream here! The soft serve is a must! Or if you have time, have a matcha latte too! You can can even ask for soy milk, I did 😍
I have been here many time! It gets really busy but worth a try🍦
J. L.
If I could rate this 10 stars I would.
I've exhausted one loyalty card and am on my way to finishing off the second one - if that's not a testament to how good this place is I don't know what is. Their matcha is, hands down, the BEST in Sydney. Be it in a soft serve, frappe or literally anything. Also definitely give their other items a go, like the black sesame frappe or even the savoury menu items.
I need their dealer
J. T.
Small little cafe inside Regents Place which has seating both inside and outside. The matcha soft serves here are simply the best and I always get one when I'm in the area. They also have some other flavours as well which are equally delicious. Definitely recommend coming here for dessert! They also have a variety of savoury foods as well but I've never tried.
There are toilets down the escalators.
D. T.
Perfect for a quick dessert stop in the CBD. Our favourite soft serve ice cream is the matcha x hojicha, its refreshing and not overly sweet, perfect for a hot day.
W. K.
Refreshing matcha ice cream in the heart of the city. Place is often quite popular and is open into the night on a Friday.
C. P.
Great selection of desserts. Unique and delicious rotation of desserts and affordable. One thing they could improve on is having staff clean up empty seats for more customers to sit at. Can get very busy and cramped during the weekend nights after dinner hours.
R. L.
Had the matcha purple rice yoghurt with matcha soft serve. Matcha taste was not prominent at all and soft serve was not that creamy. Wish it had a more intense matcha flavour. Didn’t taste horrible, just wasn’t matcha-ry. Will try the haikkado and black sesame soft serves next time and if they both taste nice I will update my score to 5. Matcha alone fell short of the mark.
B. B.
I really enjoyed this Cafe, I was pleased that they can serve hot Matcha Tea not just in Latte form. Will be coming back here in the future.
M. P.
This is our go to place to get our match fix. the price is reasonable for what you get and the match flavour in their drinks and dessert taste just right.
H. -. S.
I've been visiting for many years. I love getting the softserves. They occasionally add new flavours, today was matcha and Yakult.
P. S.
I got hojicha parfait in a cup they come with moji soft ice cream and the bottom was like jelly. This shop is my favorite in the city, Good price and nice staff. for my opinion I think the soft ice cream a bit sweet but not that bad thanks!
h. r.
A must try if you love Matcha!! I have been coming here for about 8 years and I love love their Matcha Soft Serve (which usually comes in Matcha cone, if you opt for cone) & Matcha-Hojicha Soft Serve! Their soft serve flavours may change seasonally too, so the mix-flavours options may change from time to time.
All their desserts, drinks and foods are nice. So far I've tried their Matcha Float, Matcha soft serve with mochi, Latte, and Fries. Just beware though, if you are a caffeine-sensitive person, you may find their Matcha/Hojicha a bit too strong!
T. D.
We come here twice in a day, it’s how good it is. We ordered a houjicha pearls and matcha pearls. After I drink it i went to heaven and came back.
N. b.
Modern Japanese tearoom serving creative fast food like green tea lattes and tonkatsu hot dogs.
P. E.
Great service by staff here, was friendly and approachable. The Cafe has seating inside and outside the Cafe. Lots of drinks and dessert options, quite a popular place to grab a drink and chat with friends. Prices are decent given it's location and rent. If you love Asian desserts/drinks with matcha flavours, it's recommended to have a try. They also do other flavours like sesame and yuzu if matcha is not for you but their main focus is in matcha.
B. L.
The best items are the Parfaits. If in season, Make sure you tried the roasted green tea softserve. Nice Balance of flavours. Also very affordable and is a slice of Japan in Sydney!
M. N.
My fav matcha soft serve in Sydney 🍦🍵🌱
always delicious💚💚

This is a drink slash Dessert Place inside the Regent Place Mall in the city. Keeping with the theme of the more, it is a Japanese themed green tea style dessert place. The claim the green tea powder comes from kagoshima which I don't know if it's a particularly famous place for that.
Good when you need a cold drink and nothing's open cuz it's good Friday. Apart from the milk-based drinks there are a few random desserts that seemed to be added on as time goes by.
The 'tiramisu' is a no go. It's just a tub of cream with a spoon full of azuki something inside and matcha powder on top. It looks interesting and even appetizing when you first see it. At over $10 it's both a rip off and a disappointment. Even the kids didn't want any. We couldn't finish it between 4 people.
The drinks were fine, but they could have been made by any shop. Not necessarily a specialist shop. I guess they didn't really claim to be a specialist.
In terms of the matcha it's not high quality stuff. Just regular grade stuff you would get in any shop. I'm not a great expert but when I visited specialty matcha places in Japan you could really tell the difference. For example the places near temples in Kyoto, or in Uji. Even the soft serve you should be able to tell. But there is no special excitement to this one. Doesn't mean it's bad it's just a regular place and you shouldn't expect too much.
I recommend you keep with the cold drinks and ignore the rest of the menu.
H. L.
Had to have more matcha desserts 😅😅😜😜 - went to @ohmatcha.sydney this time! Delicious matcha soft serve ice cream, and a yoghurt drink with purple rice and soft serve ice cream. Very yummy!
R. N.
Creamy and delicious matcha soft serve. Will be back to try their other treats.
Update: We've been back couple of times now and enjoyed all we ordered. The Matcha dessert platter was indulgent. Our son recommended that we try their hotdog meal so we did. Delicious meals indeed. The iced matcha latte was refreshing.
L. H.
The matcha icecream here is great, you’d get 5 stars, but whether you buy the deluxe or the other deluxe whatever they call it there is always some randomn gel cubes or some custard at the bottom which just has bad consistency.
K. L. (.
I visited this place with my daughter for a treat.
The place was relatively clean, and the desserts were sweet and tasty. Pretty much what you want of you're objective is to have something different from the norm.
I would say that it was kinda disappointing in that the actually items didn't really look much like the photos in the menu. Our green tea dessert was served in a glass, which looked heaps smaller than the picture in the menu, which showed it served in a bowl.
Also, the black sesame flat drink with soft serve didn't really have all that much soft serve. They put a great deal of ice on the bottom, just like an iceberg. So it was deceptive in the way that you didn't end up with much drink at all.
I would try them again but definitely ask how much ice they would put in. Our at least make sure they you got the serving size you expected.
E. L.
Every time come to city I will come to this shop get something sweet. Matcha lover!
Clean shop, quick service.
The only thing is surcharge on credit card is not convenient.
C.
Went to try out with a buddy on a fine Sunday evening using my Liven for the first time.
Place are not really crowded but there are no seating inside out. Noticed most of the customers just hanging around even though they had finished their food. Just kind of inconsiderate must say. Thought of sharing tables of most of the seats area are being place with the customers belonging, and to my understanding, most of the Asian doesn’t like to share tables.
Would be a better service if the tables can be wipe clean from the staff, as the table we got (finally) is so so sticky where we need to wipe it with our own wet tissues.
The dessert is pretty good ordered the Cream Anmitsu but when it comes notice that the actual presentation is not the same as with the menu. Guess pictures are all for referencing only.
Would go back for some others but think would only be takeaway cones or frappe.
Y. Z.
The nice and clean shop I visited is located in the busy world square shopping center, opposite to the Coles. The size of the store is quite small, similar to a normal food court store, and it has 8 seats for customers to dine in.
There are various macha beverage and ice cream provided, and the price range is from 3.5 to 15 dollors.
I ordered the strong macha with sesame icecream in a cup(4.5 dollors). It is indeed strong green tea taste, but its weakness is the less creamy texture that is not what I expect and is very easy to melt quickly.
It is not the best icecream under such price, and is also not the worst icecream in CBD area.
The missing one star is due to the poor customer service, without a smile or a basic “Hi”,Which is very disappointing in the holiday season and can be improved in the future.
정.
Oh matcha is one of my favorite drink brand. Today I ordered sesame one and match . So nutty 🌈. If you like pearls , don’t hesitate to add topping pearls. I wish oh matcha would open in my town. Plz😫🌈
A. S.
Rates 3.5/5. Look past slightly garish decor, pretend you are slightly deaf to the overly loud pumping music, you will find one of the most balanced matcha soft serve in sydney. Too many variation of matcha theme to mention. We got the Sakura frappe Matcha float Matcha anmitsu n a large serving of fries. They also serve a few hotdogs in case you feel a bit hungry. Well worth a visit.
V. S.
It is pretty good quality of Matcha. Freshly made as soon as order comes. If u go, there's more options for you. Oh, also try with a corn which is very crispy and tasty. I also recommend you to try sesame flavour. Yummm
M. O.
Delicious treats specialising in matcha desserts. Great treats after ramen next door.
The venue is small and it makes you feel like leaving to increase turnover.
The queue is awkward where people block the door, but I guess that gets attention from passersby.
I wish they would sell through a small window to the outside to alleviate the crowd.
But it's all because business is good.
u.
we used to frequent the Oh!Matcha in World Square before that closed (sob!) so now this is our regular when we want a dessert/drink
my go-to is the Matcha Float - a green tea icecream soft-serve in a similar milky drink with ice cubes - I used to try to eat the soft-serve icecream before it melted but now just let it melt and sip and stir it until it's all melted into a lovely luxuriant green tea milky dessert smoothie drink
pretty filling - almost a meal in itself - unless you want to pig out I'd avoid immediately after eating a main course - maybe share with a friend - or just wait (browse in DAISO?) for a while so you don't eat up feeling disgusting after too much.
T. T.
They get many options for matcha dessert. Tried the ice cream and its nice. Yakult matcha not so much because the yakult tastes stronger than the matcha itself. Overall i’m satisfied.
M. M.
The strong Matcha is great! And the sesame flavor is nice, but a bit too sweet. The service was quick and friendly. Recommend!
L. L.
Clean and tidy, highly recommended. Lots of choices, full Japanese feel 😃
C. M.
One of my favourite dessert spots. Green tea everything!! It’s almost always busy and packed out but it’s worth it if you’re a matcha fan. Large variety in green tea desserts and drinks and they have a savoury non-dessert menu too.
A. R.
Nice for something different. Staff are friendly & helpful. Ice cream is unique & good selection of drinks to accompany.
A. T. S.
Surprisingly good! - this is actually their motto. Had the green tea ice cream in a cup and the ice cold matcha latte - both were tasty and well priced. Other options you can get are the Matcha espresso, Long Matcha, Matcha chocolate, black sesame latte, and Matcha Cappuccino. It can get quite busy at times, might have trouble finding a seat.
A. N.
I haven't tried much but I love their strawberry purple rice yogurt with pearl !!!
Their matcha and/or sesame drinks/ ice cream are also good!
N. V.
The green tea ice cream at chanoma cafe ice really nice after dinner, the only problem is it is not consistent sometimes the ice cream is nice and firm and other times it is soft and melts quickly. The drinks are also good to try. The line can get long in no time.
W. N.
Love their match ice cream and desserts there. There’s always a line for their dessert. Their new soft serve flavours (black sesame, Hokkaido Milk, greentea) are very nice to try!
However only deductions on how limited seats there are and how little maintenance/cleanliness they keep with their tables around the premise. Staff are nice but all guys with serving and leave no time with cleaning up tables and sorting out table orders (so some customers reserve tables before other customers who have already ordered). Can be inconvenient at times.
T.
I had the limited edition miso salted caramel soft serve. It was delicious. Pleasantly surprised with how good it was.
I've been here a few times. A great spot for Asian themed matcha desserts that don't break the bank.
b. b.
Now named Oh! Matcha. This place is one of my favourite cheaper matcha and black sesame places. The prices are very reasonable for their taste. The black sesame items on the menu are my personal favourites. Their curry and cheese chips are just above average. It tastes just like a Japanese curry with cheese on it.
N. L.
Legit crazy about this place! Highly rate the purple rice yoghurt drink and adore the matcha soft serve (it’s icier; better than the matcha latte soft serve).
J. L.
Great place for matcha soft serve ice cream. Their seasonal flavours are delicious too - hojicha, black sesame and genmaicha were good.
K. I.
The missus knows her matcha. According to her, this matcha is very high quality. Like to see an approach to recycling and/or using recycled packaging...but the service is good, jn this highly competitive market place.
y. t.
Order 2 desert with my sister. Taste is good, I like the black saseme matcha ice-cream. And the puff was amazing.
Only 2 staff is working at the time I'm order, I believe 1 of them are on their lunch break(sitting outside). Therefore only 1 staff is serving, I had been queue for long time to order as the people before me was order ice-cream?! She had to order, food prepare everything by herself. Poor of her
A.
Fantastic establishment. Me and my friends and my gf love coming here every time were in the city. I had the green sundae with Hokkaido milk ice cream and it was simply sublime. Will be here again :)
M. C.
Nice matcha! I’ve brought a few friends here and everyone recommended it! Such as a treasure in Regents PL
B. L.
The sakura soft serve looked amazing with a sprinkle of colourful petals, unfortunately, it was not as creamy as I would have liked, a bit on the icy side.
R. A. A.
The ice creams were delicious! The dark green ice cream is matcha, light green colour ice cream is matcha latte and the ice cream in the cone is yuzu flavour. The matcha flavour is intense. Matcha lovers will definitely love it! The ice cream were not very pricely. They are only AUD $3.90 each. Matcha latte (drink) was nice as well but I do not have a photo of it. Sorry about that. The waiters were quite friendly.
E. N.
Oh matcha matcha, what an incredible ingredient. Oh!Matcha is a perfect place for green tea lovers like me. The menu is diverse and in reasonable prices
A. N.
The matcha and black sesame ice cream is great. Reasonable price with quick and good service!
C. R. C.
Giving these 4 stars to the one and only worker!
Dear owner please look after your staff.
One staff to do everything is not good enough.
But she manage to take and finish our order in timely fashion. And we’re satisfied with the taste!
Dear worker, you’re AMAZING!
S.
Reasonably priced and sells a deliciously hot tea; in my first visit to Matcha Tea-shop in Sydney. It’s a little bit hard to find in the labyrinth of shops in the mall but worth it..It was recommended to me by a Barista from another outlet, who said it was the best place for Matcha in Sydney.
Y. :. d. (. A.
A lot of choice available. I love all of dessert.Especially, matcha with mochi.I also like katsu sand with chips and matcha drink.
J. D.
Nice seasoning and sauce! Lovely snack!
E. Y.
Tried both the Matcha Float and Matcha Sundae here. I liked the Sundae much better. I did like that you can choose how strong the matcha is for the float and other matcha drinks.
S. T.
I am always very impressed with both the food and service at Oh! Matcha. I highly recommend their soft serve ice-cream. Sooo delicious!
h. i.
It’s crowded but you still can enjoy the yummy desserts.
P. G.
The soft serve is silky matcha magic
T. S. T.
Matcha everything! The matcha spicy chips are seasoned just right, not too overpowered by matcha (it's a monthly special)
S. C.
Good soft serve, especially the roasted green tea one. A bit noisy given that majority of the seating is outside in the hallway in Regent Place.
D. S.
I thought the matcha sakura soft serve seemed quite watery and not too much taste compared to other places. An overall okay experience.
Y. S.
Its more a self serve kiosk than café. But oh man! Love the matcha drinks and dessert in this place! Definitely must try if you love matcha
T. C.
Great ice cream! 🍦 We had the black sesame flavour which was delicious! 🤤
K. W.
The desserts here are lovely. However would have liked to know they only accept cash before I waited 10 minutes in line before ordering.
C. T.
Mt Fuji.
Not quite enough matcha cream in the beginning, it started becoming very blend halfway, we requested to have some more cream and they were able to deliver. Good service.
The ice is not shaved as fine as expected. Other than that, all good.
m. d.
I come to this particular store for what i think is the best matcha tea icecream available in the city (and quite cheap).
I always order the strongest matcha available with differing promotions of rockmelon, watermelon, hojicha and others to tempt during the year.
You can choose the strength of flavour of icecream, floats, tea, desserty type drinks and a lot of other offerings.
I have been coming here for years now... the service is consistantly good and I love matcha!!!
S. B.
Matcha icecream is the best! But the store has the dirtiest tables and nothing gets cleaned... 😬 buy it and eat elsewhere!
E. L.
The ice cream was nice and the pricing was pretty reasonable. We had a matcha latte x Hokkaido milk and matcha x purple rice ice creams. The Sign in process was easy with the standard NSW health QR code, table didn't really get a wipe down in between customers but it wasn't really dirty and we had wipes anyway. I'd probably come here again and get takeaway if I was in the area
T. K.
It’s a nice neat Japanese style dessert joint in city. Nothing too special about what they’re offering, but it’s a nice place to stop by for a quick refreshments
m. K.
They take a great risk to combat the opposite Aqua S ice-cream store, but they made it, now people are queuing for Matcha Hokkaido green tea cone.
P. T.
Oh! Matcha has been a post-dinner hot spot for my friends and I for many years. Their matcha floats and matcha soft serves are my go-to, and although sweeter than other matcha stores, it always hits my cravings on the head. Would recommend for anyone wanting a sweet matcha fix!
Z. L.
It’s a good choice for matcha dessert place, but the quality not consistently recently and the service is poor either....
M. G.
I looove these ice creams. I discovered them on Groupon. The matcha and special flavour for Chinese New year lotus flower is especially nice. Yum yum
S.
Oh Matcha is the place to go if you want authentic Japanese style matcha soft serve. This place is always busy and it's not hard to see why.
They always offer the regular matcha, or half and half matcha and Hokkaido milk, but they often have special flavours available well.
Of course teas and other drinks and desserts are available too.
A. C.
Ordered Mr Pork with garlic chilli fries, we totally loved it. Matcha latte was good too.
W. T.
Best green tea soft serve with strong tea flavour and less milky, just to my liking. Most importantly, nothing is overly sweet.
B.
This place always has good turnaround as there are limited matcha-themed cafes in Sydney CBD. It's my go-to place whenever I'm in the vicinity and have a craving for matcha, and they are open at the time (They open quite late in the day, so never the place for your morning cuppa). However, service is a bit sour so that can be a bit of a deterrent.
W. W.
Pretty delicious everything. Especially stuff made with their ice-cream. I love their soft serve and floats. Love green tea, roasted tea, black sesame products. Service staff can be a little unfriendly, but then again they are quite young, and perhaps not yet accustomed to the art of human interaction.
T.
Popular Matcha place with delicious dessert options. Classics are definitely worth a try, with the Soft Serve, Matcha Float and Paprika chips.
Often busy and almost always has a line but they're very quick to service and prepare your order. Hard to find seating however and it's quite crowded during peak hours. In changing tables, they are usually not cleaned immediately so be advised and get some tissue to self clean.
G. K.
Reasonable price, normal taste. There are variety of matcha dessert.
M. M.
Friendly staff and great ice cream. Only problem is they don't accept eftpos for less and $10. Or charge an extra 50c. So take cash!
J. C.
Been coming here for the past 3 years and they've been consistently serving good desserts.
S. (.
Had the Miso salted caramel x green tea icecream. It was excellent.
C. M.
Favourite spot for anything remotely matcha related - soft serve, tea, latte, you name it! A must for asian dessert fans
A. L.
An ideal place for all things Matcha. Seating can be limited at times.
H. C.
Love this little place! I pretty much want to try everything on the menu, which would mean many visits.. This time around, they had a "limited time offer" of black sesame soy latte, I got the cold version, was delicious. Not nearly as much black sesame as I put in my own versions, but still very nice. We also had a "grapefruit ball", it's such a strange creation, literally a grapefruit with a little hole for the straw, and the insides have been mushed into pulpy juice- amazing!! I've tried their matcha soft serve before, it's great- not too sweet, and strong on the matcha. I can understand that the unconverted might not like it though. Lastly, I noticed they've also brought out a series of shaved ice desserts, they looked really good.
M. W. (.
Have only ever come here for the ice cream. Love the parfait to share, otherwise I go for the soft serve cone. It gets busy so most of the time I just get a cone and walk out. Matcha flavour is strong and bitter the way it should be
D. D.
I love this place so much. I always love matcha so much and so far this is the best matcha drink and dessert I have ever had. At first I didnt quite understand the menu and the guy was happy to explain it to me and when I decided to change my order, he was not annoyed but since paid by eftpos so he couldnt give me back the refund. But then he showed concern and gave me free ice cream tester. Keep the good service up and maybe next time since the name of the menu is mostly in Japanese, you guys could print out the explanation what is the main ingredients in the menu.
S. Y.
A little overpriced, but their matcha icecream isn't extremely sweet and preserves the original matcha flavour.
H. B.
The matcha soft serve as well as the matcha cone were well made at good price, however the watermelon soft serve on a watermelon slice cost a double but with half the quantity of ice cream, not to mention it was rather a sorbet on the watery and icy side.
H. Y.
Very tasty but not too sweet
Ignore the service. If you ever worked in a very intense environment for long hours, you would know how tired and how stressed they are
P. P.
The place to get your green matcha ice cream. Avoid busy lunch hours if possible.
P. T.
Amazing matcha thick shake and ice cream.
S. C.
The soft serve green tea ice-cream here is incredible. Creamy and the tea flavour was strong but delicious. The parfaits look amazing and the unique hot-dogs were an interesting addition. The service was good. Will definitely go back for more of that ice-cream!
A. X.
Good varieties of matcha dessert. Must try if you like matcha. Can get busy and difficult to find seating.
R. C.
Great place if you like matcha!
R. L.
This is my no.1 place for matcha!
Yummy food & valuable price
L.
Authentic matcha! not too sweet& has decent flavour!
e. m.
Oh! Matcha By Chanoma offers a variety of drinks and desserts that revolve around soft serves of different varieties especially matcha hence the name. They don’t just offer sweet items but have a range of savoury items too if you want to temper the sweetness factor. The service is very good and friendly. Quite efficient in dishing out soft serves as they seem to be the most popular treat.
We came here and had the Mr Ponzu Meal Deal which came with a mini hot dog filled with onions and radishes. Bit small but quite tasty. The fries came with a paprika seasoning which was nice. The drink we upgraded to a Matcha Float which was the ice match latte with soft serve. Really delicious. As most diners come here for we had the soft serves. We managed to try all three they have currently which were Sakura (limited edition), Hokkaido Milk & Matcha. Our favourites were the milk and matcha as they had the most flavour.
R. H.
Awesome place for all matcha related dessert. They have options from just soft serve ice cream with rotating flavours, to the super complex anmitsu. They also serve savoury items like hot dogs etc. Plenty of spaces to sit down and good ambience to have a chat.
R. Y.
This place was surprisingly good! Had the Chanoma Cheese Dog, Teriyaki Chicken Dog, Chocolate Parfait and Matcha Soft Serve...loved them all. I don't normally enjoy green tea ice cream, but this was very tasty.
Loved the bread used for the dogs - they were soft.
Just overall, yummy.
S.
My go to and favorite dessert place in sydney. I love the matcha float and matcha soft serve. Now they have more varieties of soft serves as well, like Hokkaido milk flavor or black sesame flavor. They also do special seasonal flavors sometimes
Q. H.
the ice cream is strong , and can be mixed with other favours. really nice ^^
O. T.
This popular little cafe is the place to go if you're looking for authentic bitter matcha. I remembered loving their matcha latte which is a lot more bitter and stronger than other lattes I've tasted. However, recently I've had their softserve and I was really disappointed. It was icy, melted and hasn't really churned properly. I expected better as I've had good experiences in the past so I can only hope that they improve into the future.
M. M.
Great matcha soft serve. Love the chips with garlic and chilli - it's a very large serve. It can get crowded, but there is outside space and space in its sister store. The matcha itself was slightly lumpy, but otherwise nice.
Y. O.
Love this place! The staff is sometimes not so well coordinated but their products are sooo yummy! Matcha float is my favorite, same with genmaicha and hojicha. The mix of slightly bitter Japanese tea and sweet, creamy softserve is awesome! But I can also recommend their other deserts and seasonal offers. Thumbs up! Same for Oh Matcha! Worldsquare!
H. M.
The drink I was served today was terribly made, the taste of the ice matcha chocolate drink was rather plain, and as the matcha wasn't mixed properly, there were consistent small lumps in my drink, although, the staff is always friendly, and the usual drink I have, the matcha float, is always delicious, as it's flavorful, fresh, and creamy. The atmosphere is quite crowded and noisy, suitable for quick visits.
C. L.
Heaven for green tea dessert lovers. Come here very often and always get something with green tea soft serve in it. It isnt too sweet and still retains that slightly bitter green tea taste. Although last time i went, i ordered the green tea fruit sundae thingo (can't remember the name) the fruit was like jellied... i was expecting fresh fruit but it was still good. Great place to hang with friends.
T. P.
Chanoma is a modern take on a traditional Japanese dessert house. It has a large menu featuring a variety of cold and hot drinks in traditional flavours such as matcha, read bean and yuzu. The drinks come in traditional form as well as in more well known styles like frappes and icecream floats. The matcha ice cream here is the best I've ever had; not too bitter but still super creamy with a strong matcha taste. The little shiratama rice cakes served with certain drinks here are also divine. The food is not bad; the hot dogs are a quirky Japanese style but are difficult to eat as everything tends to fall apart when you try to take a bite. This place is great for a nice after dinner treat.
V. N.
Oh Matcha has really good Matcha ice-cream and green tea desserts! Its also a very a cute and cosy cafe. Highly recommend.

Many types of matcha flavoured desserts for matcha lovers! There are hot and cold beverages, ice creams and floats which are decently portioned and taste quite good. Good place to go after dinner and many options available

Bold flavours! Quick service even though only one server was on. I had strong matcha and black sesame soft serve - they were both delicious.
B. l.
Lovely matcha based snacks in the middle of "Japan town". Try the black sesame latte!
L. A. L.
Great place for real Matcha. Always busy and not enough seats.

If you like matcha and Japanese desserts, this is the must go to place in Sydney. They have really nice matcha and various other desserts. They have hot food as well, hot dogs ans fries, so if you are feeling hungry, you can grab a quick bite here as well. The place is extremely crowded, so avoid busy hours, like in the late afternoon or after lunch/dinner.

Went to Chanoma to try the matcha green tea soft serve and it's incredibly good. Not too sweet, and an excellent matcha flavour. The soft serve cone was piled high and filled all the way to the very bottom of the cone so it's certainly value for money. Really enjoyed it - will be back to try more matcha goodies.

I have recommended almost every friends about this cafe before, as it's located near the cinema and shopping center, and the matcha ice creams were also authentic. However this time I came here, I found the place has be redecorated, the price is higher, with a noisy bgm. (however you don't have to wait for a long time for your order anymore). Not the place that used to be a comfortable place to have a chat.
T. T.
- great drinks, mainly green tea flavoured, and there's heaps of variations. It's quite filling though, you'll find that you may feel full after half a drink, it gets pretty sweet and sickening, kinda like that feeling of drinking a sweet EasyWay drink and then you get to a point where you don't want to drink all of it anymore because it's just too much.
- cheap prices
- not much variety of food as it is mainly focused on the drinks.
- great to pop by and grab a drink, the interior space is decent for around 30 people

Summary: I recommend all the soft serves and Matt highly recommends the parfait! That matcha and akura strawberry was foodgasmic!
A must try if you are a fan of Asian flavours. If you head over to Oh Matcha! at an odd time then you can skip the queues, otherwise have some patience as it's worth the wait.

Pretty good place to go for some authentic Matcha flavor ice-cream and drinks. Definitely is a must try if you are in the area. Enjoy the goodness with your friends and family.
A. L.
Eat and drink your heart out! This place is dedicated to Matcha everything. The Matcha frozen yogurt and Matcha Frappe is delicious! Unlike most places this is the real deal there is no syrup involved which i love. I have also recently tried the chili fries which also just as delightful as the sweet stuff they serve.
It is also a very popular place and is usually packed after work hours. Make sure you have cash, unfortunately they don't accept Eftpos.
M. G.
Delicious matcha and Sakura soft serves - fast service but eat quick, they melt very easily. The sundaes can be pimped out with toppings like mochi
w. x.
If you are after traditional Matcha desserts, similar to what you get in Japan, this is the place to be. Chanoma offers you green tea ice cream, Red beans and other Japanese desserts. A good place to hang out with friends but due to the large crowds its very difficult to secure a seat. My favourite is their matcha latte and matcha ice cream.
P. L.
One of the best places to get matcha desserts however some things on the menu are quite pointless such as the gold leafing and such. Don't be suckered into buying the extra stuff unless you're after that insta pic
D. W. W.
Chanoma cafe is a great hang-out place where you can sit down and have a chat with friends or family right after a main meal. While Chanoma does have some more “solid” food, such as their hot dogs, they’re not really quite as good as their drinks, which are their star attractions, particularly their spectacular parfait. Sometimes, however, you might feel that the parfait is too much; today was one such day, and it was great to have a simple yet refreshing drink instead.

This is the place to go if you like green tea.
They serve teas in various types of tea, such as honey and lemon green tea, green tea float or just hot green tea.
My favourite aspect of this place is the fact that they don't add too much sugar to their teas. It means the tea retains their natural bitterness that is an interesting taste for some.
B.
*Hang on a sec... You can't fool me... That's not coffee*
It's ok... Matcha is like the espresso of green tea, and I loved this stuff in Japan so had to try this place when I saw they had it.
And... it was a fair attempt but.. it just didn't have the bitter punch that great matcha needs (in my opinion). The awesome thing about matcha is the sledgehammer of bitterness and intensity from the green tea, matched perfectly with the semi sweet wagashi (traditional Japanese sweet) on the side. Like fire and ice, they just work brilliantly together.
In this case it was more like the potential fire and ice, as it was close... but no cigar.
Still, it as nice to be nostalgic for a bit... :-)

Fully recommend the Matcha and Hojicha combo, delicious!
M. L.
best japanese desserts in sydney. love the matcha latte soft serve and other flavours. I also enjoy their cold drinks like the yuzu lemonade.
Location convenient to the station and buses.
A good side stop before heading home or to a movie.
G. P.
If you love green tea/matcha then eat here! The Matcha fondue is great! The matcha lattes are also quite nice. Shiratama is nice and delicious. Cash only! So make sure you have some coin on you!
G. B.
Great place for matcha ice cream in Sydney. For a limited time they also had stronger matcha, if you happen by them, I would definitely recommend the strongest version.
D. E.
Quick service, tasty authentic modern Japanese-style hotdogs, smoothies and cakes. 1 small point, back in Japan they would clean the tables far more often but otherwise great place and will always go back.
V. H.
The match ice cream is nice
T. L.
Very interesting take of Japanese western fast food fusion. This is a dessert house that needs its own category. Try out its signature japanese-style hot dogs, experimenting green tea or red bean (azuki) ice cream or simple sit down for a hot drink. Great customer service, too!
z.
Enjoyed the matcha drink here.
b. w.
cheap hotdogs which were about $6 max and had a few and all quite good. The matcha *japanese' green tea drinks are also nice as were the $2.90 soft serve matcha icecream. Quite cheap and reasonable prices. Well worth checking out.
s. k.
So awesome value for money hotdogs, loved it

I'm not a big bubble (boba) tea fan or tea fan in general outside of chai, earl grey, green and sweet tea so this review ignores all the tea this cafe has to offer...this review is simply about their Japa-dogs (Made popular in Vancouver, CA) and fries.
I came here after a workout at the gym and promptly ordered a Teriyaki Chicken Dog, Kim-Mayo Dog, and Chili-Garlic fries...all this after a protein shake. I'm a big boy.
When you order a sausage dog, you can choose 3 different kinds of hot dogs, and I opted for the Aussie kransky. The chorizo is the one you choose if you want a spicier option, and the middle option is more of a bratwurst kind of dog. Those 3 orders total $15.40...not bad at all. Each hot dog is $5.50 or $6.20 except for the Chanoma dogs, which are $4.40 or so.
I really liked the Kim-Mayo dog, I would order that one again in a heartbeat. Stay away if you don't like things drenched in mayo though. The Teriyaki Chicken Dog didn't really taste like Teriyaki at all, but it was good nonetheless.
If you're a fan of hot dogs and cheap eats and want to try something different, give this place a shot.
L. P.
So far i have tried the "Iced Azuki Bean Matcha" and now this drink.
R. K.
Got the matcha-milk soft serve. I don’t fancy the milk flavour as it feels plain and one-dimensional, but the matcha flavour is really good as the green tea taste is strong!
M. T.
Only place in Sydney is focused on Matcha desserts. My go to place for matcha softserve.
M. M.
Have been here a few times and the matcha tea is great! We always get the matcha cheese milk tea..I know...the cheese sounds weird, but it's delicious! Think more like cheesecake that gouda! Haha.
Visiting today was a particularly busy day with a large queue and some messy customers, but the staff remained cheerful and friendly under stress while still retaining the usual great quality!
Very impressed by the young staff working today, well done!
S. L.
They have nice matcha desserts but the place is always too crowded. Those matcha soft serves were too liquid-liked to be served.

Nice ice cream and mocha latte.
Nice place for a quick catch up
I. L.
Very busy, always expected a bit of wait. Very nice green tea flavoured desserts including cold and hot drinks, ice cream, and hot dogs. Reasonably priced, no doubt about it's popularity

Chanoma Cafe is a cute little Japanese eatery located in the heart of Regent Place. Specalising in Japanese style hot dogs. Here, you can get a pork, teriyaki chicken, kranksy, shrimp or tonkatsu dog with a variety of unconventional toppings, like marinated kimchi, curry flavoured cabbage, or miso pork mince with sauces like wasabi mayo, teriyaki, tatare and more. Great value for money about $6.90 max for a hotdog.
A.
Although the overhead menus were difficult to order from, the ice creams were delicious and were as good as the ones in Japan. Matcha forever
M.
Always friendly staff, and the Almond Frappe is amazing! The tofu cream is delicious too - thanks heaps!
I've tried the vegan softserve once too - it's nice!
It's also good that the staff clarify if honey is fine when ordering from the vegan menu - good to see the options are given 😄
N. T.

A lovely place to relax and chat with friends, a small paradise hidden inside the building full of japanese restaurants. Recommend the green tea soft serve, hotdogs and anything with the green tea soft serve!
M. S.

Nice food however usually reheated. Refuse to have air conditioning on making it uncomfortable to sit and eat.
They also only take cash and do noy have an atm nearby.
A. H.
Busy place for some Japanese infused dishes. Their special hotdog selection and drinks are definitely worth trying out.
