We caught a ferry from Yamba to Iluka and ate here. The building looks like a slow breeze would make it fall down but this does give it character. For some bizarre reason they only took cash in the bar but credit card in the food area. It's very pleasant sitting outside and the food, whilst not great, was ample

Friendly country service, smiles from the kitchen go that extra mile to make it special. Cheers guys, you're the best. It's not bad. Food was good and decent sized. Nice view from the terrace. The only One drawback - if you come here after 2 pm you can not get any food until 5.30. My salt and pepper calamari were good, I felt like usually they take the thin film from it, but in general it was quite good. Cesar salad was great.

Great old fashion pub, very rustic in appearance, last time i was here would be over 25 years ago, i don, t think much has changed. Bar staff friendly blokes, kitchen staff were nice, our food was good, however my wife found her grilled snapper to be a little dry to her taste. I had the crumbed flathead .Beer was cold, pool tables $2 a game.

Friendly pub on the waters edge. Food is delicious and generous. Perfect spot to watch the sunset. Puppies welcome outside too.

Beer options are limited and the bar is cash only for some weird reason , the restaurant is great at cooking most things but I don't recommend the ribs . The establishment is a bit out dated and old but the view is amazing of an afternoon.

Very difficult to get in - very officious lady at the front! Terrible selection of tap beers - 20 years out of date! Not even Cooper's on tap! Great meat raffle but did we win? Went across the street to the jetty to the fish cafe for food with some take out Cooper's Sparkling! Just get Cooper's Sparkling on tap and I would be happy! Or a local IPA!

I had the ribs which were great. All my friends who ordered steaks were extremely dissappointed as they were grissly and tough. This restarant is part of a very run down pub in a great location. Drinks are ordered at the public bar and they only take cash.

Visited Sedges Reef pub bistro many times over the past 60 odd years. It is just iconic. Dont go if you are uber toffy the infrastructure/superstructure is Barny Rubble like. Lovelly. My partner is food selective however she rates the Caesar Salad highly. A free courtesy bus will pick you up and return to the ferry wharf. If in Yamba its a must to take the ferry trip to Iluka a top day out. Good ferry service and return at convenient times. Last there April 2021 the plan was to demolish the old pub and develop a new one. Hopefully SR Pub 2.0 will maintain the magic. Patrick

The food was ok, it was made promptly and the portion was not too small or too big. It was a little overpriced. The salad was a bit dry, but otherwise the meal was fine. However, the place is not so great in that it is falling apart.The inside is noisy and the floor bounces like a trampoline whenever anyone walks too heavily or children run inside, and the outside of the building is crumbling and covered in mold.

Arrived on ferry and picked up by the hotel courtesy bus by gorgeous driver, seafood was the best we have ever eaten. Locally caught and so fresh. We were in a group of 8 and everyone commented on the excellent food. Friendly staff, we will definitely return! Thank you Sedgers.

This place thinks it can pull off the 'old world style pub' venue but really the place is just old. You can't see the glorious seaway not 40 metres from the basic outdoor seating area due to the car park. Food is great, staff are friendly. The pub needs demolition.

I'm a snooty government worker from Melbourne/Canberra, and I like laneway bars etc. Another thing I like is the Sedgers Reef Hotel. Standard beers at fair prices, a Thursday night meat raffle that scored me a bacon sausage and egg tray, and a $23 prawn parma with chips and salad that was actually spot on. The building is run down, but that's part of the charm of an old mate pub in a country town. Be friendly to the staff and you'll get it back in spades. Thanks for a top little night!

A real hidden gem. This classic waterfront pub feels like you've gone back in time to the 80's(in a good way). Unpretentious and simple in a way that reminds you of years gone by. Expect the Sunny Boys or Chisel to be playing on the juke box. Fish will surely be the special of the day at the bistro as well.

Very old hotel, has potential and some nice views except it's really dirty. Old hotels can be nice but this one is dirty and everything is sticky. Food was okay, nothing great. Salt and pepper squid was way to salty. Parma was not a normal Parma, which is what you want when you order a parma.

We love taking the boat over from Yamba to eat here. Can tie up on beach just down from the pub. If you don't have a boat, it's possible to catch a ferry across from Yamba then walk back down to the pub. The place is run down but that's what we like about it. Too many places have been knocked down to build flash bars to attract the flash clientele. Beer is cold and food good sized portions. A regular for us.
