Spoons Café serves awesome coffee with a smile! If you're on holiday and missing Sydney coffee, give it a try and you won't be disappointed! The atmosphere is warm, friendly and welcoming. The food is tasty, especially the dumplings! Yum! Spoons is a great place to grab a quick coffee and run or sit, relax and chill. The owners make you feel like you're at home. As the co-owner of Spoons Cafe I need to respond to Rod Jones' review. I cannot reply directly to Rod Jones as I haven't got ownership or management rights to Spoons Cafe on Google since the original person who set it up has not responded to change of ownership. Rod says that my wife's coffee looked like milky tea and she needs barista training. My wife has done barista training and is a very good barista. I can say this with confidence as many customers have returned especially for her coffee. We even had a coffee taster return a few times as well as owners of past and current cafes around different parts of Australia commenting on how good her coffee is. It would be interesting to know what Rod ordered. Was it a Large half strength Flat White. That would probably look like milky tea. Rod also commented on the extraction process. Eh? That is done by the machine and is checked and calibrated by the machines owner (who supplies our beans and has himself been a barista for 30 years). Maybe Rod should read the review by Marc B who drives 20 minutes for my wife's coffee. Rod then makes comments about using Fountain BBQ sauce on our B & E Rolls? Well so what. What do you want me to do, make my own BBQ sauce. Spare time is important when you work 7 days a week.Would it make a difference? None at all. Unlike say Alexandria in Sydney where there are 10 coffee shops within 2 blocks where little things make a difference, you couldn't find 10 coffee shops within 10 square kilometers here. I think that Rod's review is unfair and unwarranted and if anyone reads this who knows Rod then could you notify him of my response please.

There is nothing to dislike but by the same token there is nothing standout about the place. In its favour is the fact there's little competition. The food is quite nice but nothing spectacular, friendly service and reasonably priced but in reality that's all that can really be said for it. We go in there occasionally, byo high chair if you have little ones.
