My mum is a Home and Away fan so took her to visit. It’s currently closed however it’s a public area so she was able to walk around and take photos. Normally all sorts of boats and kayaks are for hire, no info on when it will reopen. The water is quite calm so nice for swimming

Great takeaway service! Fish and chips is your classic go to with an adequate serving for the price (considering how exclusive the area is). Also recommend the dory burger. Only minus one star as there is limited takeaway choices.

Came here one early morning for a breakfast. The place itself is very nice, with the great views of the ocean and beach. It’s got a very relaxed vibe and definitely seems like it’s filled with locals (in the mornings, at least).
The service was decent. The girl at the front seemed relatively friendly. We ordered a bowl of granola, a croissant with raspberry jam, and a coffee. The food was average, wouldn’t say it was particularly special or anything but I guess the fruit was fresh and the jam for the croissant was high quality and didn’t seem to just be from a jar. Presentation was definitely a plus. Only thing was that we weren’t given a fork (just a knife) with the croissant, but that wasn’t a big deal.

One of our favourite places to go for drive and a delicious brunch by the water. Parking cost is a bit high but worth it. We go fishing here sometimes as they have boat hire just next door. Super fun! Highly recommended.

Great location, a stone throw away from the beach. The food was very fresh and the servings were generous. I did visit on a very warm day, so it was extremely busy with a very long queue, with that said, I believe we only waited about 30mins to be seated which was great (expected much longer).
Staff were friendly and assisted as much as they could with our seating. Once seated, you would order at the counter yourself and the food would be brought out to your table. Considering how busy it was, the food didn't take too long to arrive. My advice, if it's a warm day, try to get there early so avoid a wait.
Overall, I had great experience and never felt pressured to leave quickly after our meal was complete, considering how long the queue was.
Date of visit: Oct 5, 2020, Lunch time.

A great place to sit outside (if u can find a table.), you can enjoy your food with the view.
I ordered the trout board , and a iced latte. The food is not bad, just average , but I loved the latte which is quite special!
My friend ordered fish and chips, the portion is big but wait quite a bit of time. You need to allocate enough time to wait if you want to dine in. Also, the price is not very cheap, not say very expensive , a little bit above average more likely
M. B.
Such a nice place! The view is splendid, just along the beach. It’s beautiful and peaceful. The food is really food and generous with big portions. The milkshake was just perfect (and I’m peaky with milkshake). The restaurant is very nice with a pretty decoration. A place where you directly feel at home. The atmosphere is convivial and full of joy. I had a wonderful lunch here. The only thing I was a bit disappointed was the waiting time. Someone told us we will be seated and with food in approximately 30min and it took more than one hour in total... but experience was great so we forgot about it.

Great food and beautiful views of the harbour

There's everything to love about this place even if the first thing you notice is its busyness. The Boathouse rules as the Waterside café king along the Palm Beach peninsula. The concept is great: awesome food in a renovated boat house. The lines were long but part of the experience. The coffee was prompt, the fish and chips basket was generous, and the salad with grilled salmon was crisp and fresh. Next time I will try the cold seafood platter. It looked wonderful! But 5 stars from this reviewer on hitting all the right marks.
A. B.
If you visit the boathouse on a beaultiful summer day like I did, you will probably rate the place 5 stars as well, even though the menu is limited, the price is salty, and there is always a long line to order food....BTW, what the hell is this thing in NSW where you need to order your food in the bar ??? What happened with the good old table service???.....back to the review: I recomend a meal at the boathouse.
K. B.
With a location like this, it would be easy to just dish out average fare... But the Boathouse tries to do better with a varied menu that is well executed, especially considering how busy it gets. You can't go past fish and chips or the grilled barra. The servings are huge so consider sharing your mains if you're going to get other courses.
C. W.
Lovely view and great food. Had the tonic (ginger and turmeric) and salad platter. The lines can get pretty long on the weekend so have to get there early and parking can be a bit tricky. I’ve been to other boathouse restaurants and they are all good. Fresh food and nice, relaxed atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit after walking up the lighthouse in palm beach!

Had an amazing lunch! What a great place to stop and have breakfast/lunch. A variety of seating is offered from indoor to garden to on the deck overlooking Pittwater. Food tasted very fresh and ever dish looked like it was carefully arranged on the plate. Food was faultless and service was good as well. Compared to other spots was a bit more pricey but definitely worth it as it's still great value for what you get
B. W.
The Boathouse cafes and restaurants set a high standard for customer service and food quality across Sydney. We found the food to be fresh and of a high quality. This means that the prices are a lot higher than elsewhere. We bought a takeaway banana cake and egg roll. The items were handed to us in an excellent carry bag. There was a slight mix up with our order - we were handed a bacon roll, not an egg roll - the error was resolved within 3 minutes. There’s indoor and outdoor seating here. Toilets are located at the southern side of the building. Plenty of on-street parking. Excellent view of Pittwater. It’s possible to catch a boat plane from Rose Bay to the wharf located at this restaurant. #Pittwater

Lovely lunch today, stunning weather. Fish and chips an extremely generous serve and both fish and chips were great. The Barramundi was absolutely delicious crispy skin and lovely salad.
C. T.
Beautiful spot for lunch on a warm sunny day. The menu is interesting, food delicious, and service is fast.
The atmosphere is the real draw card with beautiful beachy styling and lush greenery everywhere you look.
M. S.
Impressed with the food prep and display , gotta love a chef that likes to take a photo of it. Keen attentive staff , great views and nice neat cafe. Food tasted as good as it looked.
We will be back .
S. T. D.
Love the coastal living set up. A fair bit of drive from.the city but it is definitely worth it. Might get pretty busy especially during the weekends.
p. c.
Great venue with nice service, delicious food and scenic location. Gets busy on weekends and at holiday time so it's best to get in earlier to avoid a long wait. We arrived at 09:30 am on a Saturday morning and waited about 15 minutes for a seat due to covid restrictions which was ok. We really enjoyed our visit and will definitely return.
O. L.
It’s popular for a reason. Both a fun and classy spot to grab a bite near the beach and enjoy some sunshine. All the fish is absolutely delicious, and the pastries and coffee are wonderful as well. If you get lucky, you can see a few sea plane embankments and lots of dogs playing on the beach. A short walk to the path up to the lighthouse, too! Great spot.
J. B.
The food and the ambience were incredible. The staff were friendly and very helpful. Would definitely recommend.
D. D.
After taking a walk around Palm Beach we ventured to the Boathouse and ordered a bottle of wine and some lunch. Positioned ourselves at the back of the restaurant nearby the fountain surrounded by beautiful greenery with a view across Pittwater. This place was evidently popular by the line up to order our dishes. The food was delicious and the staff were definitely busy but were always accommodating. We have dined at Shelly Beach and Patonga and now we have been satisfied at Palm Beach. Fantastic
R. E. c.
Really enjoyed the food and coffee hear when I took family out for the day .
This place is always well presented and clean and the staff are some of the friendliest.
The views from the deck hear are perfect check it out when you are visiting you won’t regret it .
G. M.
What a wonderful location.
Great views and peaceful.
Friendly approachable and professional staff.
Great food choices.
Lovely cake 🍰 choices.
Street parking in good prroxnity to the boat house⛵
Rental Boats ⛵ from the Wharf.
T.
Beautiful location, good food and beverages. The staff are friendly and great place have a coffee and look at the view.
H. G.
The location is beautiful by the sea. The food options are a bit limited and the fruit toast was too hard.
They don't take reservations so first in first serve.
The coffee is great. It's a vibrant place and beautifully decorated. It also has very clean bathrooms which I think it's being respectful of their patrons.
It's a bit pricey so go for the experience rather than the food. ;)
V. S.
My absolute favourite place on the Northern Beaches for coffee or lunch. The water views are to die for. The food as fresh and tasty as can be. Love it every time we are here.
N. S.
Absolutely amazing ambience and service. Even though it was packed with people, we got our order served real quick. The portions were hefty and it filled us up well. Great local crowd and true Aussie vibe. This is my FAVOURITE breakfast place in Sydney now!
D. M.
Why is everybody getting the burger or dish&ships here? It’s not like it’s the only things on the menu... anyway. The trout board is pretty great. Watermelon juice is delicious and refreshing. Just a bit difficult to find seats and can take more than half an hour to order due to how popular this place is. Get in early before everything is gone!
M. M.
Food and location were both great, staff were all very friendly and service was excellent. It’s fun to see the sea planes take off and land (you can take a scenic flight too if you like). Being so close to the beach is fantastic as the kids can have a play between courses.
c. L.
This place masterfully embodies a very specific vibe. This place feels like every post card of a beach house and boathouse rolled into a three-dimensional space. Attention to detail and authenticity abound.
Beyond just decor, the food and coffee are stunning. The view is delightful. And the staff are friendly.
Yes, it can be a touch pricy for a casual setting, but with such a lovely experience, the price is easily justifiable.
R. C.
Visited on a beautiful Sunday afternoon so it was very busy when we passed by the first time so we decided to visit the lighthouse first. This place is just too cute! Although, I wish I can say the same for staff.
Food is pricey but quite nice. Still, I think you are paying for the ambience more than anything. We ordered for the market fish and beef burger. Market fish was a bit too salty for me, but the fish was cooked perfectly. Beef burger was amazing.
This place gets too busy and staff looks too overworked to remain friendly. A waitstaff bussed my husband's plate literally 2 seconds after eating the last spoon of food. It felt like we were being shooed out of the door.
D. L.
The food and water views are simply incredible. Make sure to go early if you're going in peak hours as the line can get quite long. Very friendly staff with great value good at a superb location.
M. X.
Great views and delicious food! But fish and chips were a little bit oily.
X. Y.
Pretty decent food very well presented, enormous servings (for Asians I suppose) and good views of the ocean. Coffee was rather burnt for my liking and milkshake was too sweet.
But service is great and it’s an awesome place to chill! Breakfast menu seemed more extensive and promising than lunch though.
H. C.
Pretty good quality and taste, a bit pricy, but overall is beyond expectations. Recommended.
T. H. (. T. I.
Gorgeous atmosphere, delicious food and lovely staff.
I have Crohn’s disease, which brings with it lots of difficult dietary requirements, but Jake and the chef were very understanding and more than accommodating - thanks for my customised salad, it was delicious, and the salmon was cooked to perfection! 👌🏻
J. S.
Great location. Nice food... got a table even on a busy Sunday morning for lunch.
P. S.
Good service and nice food. The coffee was good, but not genius. Giving it 5 stars as it’s hard to beat the location. Clientele: lots of old fogeys on day trips here. Outside: you might be lucky enough to see them filming ‘Home and Away’. Either way Pittwater is beautiful.
M. H.
Great selection of foods and drinks, and they all taste fantastic. The setting is exactly what you had in mind for a photogenic beach house cafe. The service is top notch and I think the only down side is the price and parking during lunch time.
L. M.
Nice food and a great view and location. Ticket Parking is available. It's a casual place for a meal, you order at the counter and pick your own table. Service was good and fast. Yummy breakfast food served from 7am-11:30am and lunch from 12pm to closing. The only criticism would be that it took some time to get a waiter to clean up the table we found from the previous guests.
A. C.
Lovely spot for breakfast, came in at 8am where there plenty of tables. As we left it started getting busier. So reccomend coming a bit earlier to get a good table. There is no menu, there is only a menu on the chalkboard near the cashier or online.
J. C.
Good food and great view. Very popular, may need to wait for a table. A bit pricey but can’t complain the beautiful view.
G. F.
Great location, great food, the service is a little slow, we stand for 45 min on the query just for order the food, and then 15 more to find a table, it was pretty crowded, but still worth it, fresh oysters and an amazing fish and chips, really well served, reasonable types of drinks and beers.
F. K.
Classic cafe food done really well! Fish and chips, burgers and shakes were all fab! Lovely location, always busy and the staff were super sweet and gave us a cake for someone’s bday!
H. B.
What a lovely spot! The fish and chips are crazy delicious wow and the Grilled Barramundi was fantastic. A well oiled machine this place is with their service!
H. B.
I've yet to sample the food here, but I'm told it's divine.
The location is beyond picturesque, situated on The Pittwater, it's so tranquil & pretty, & beautifully decorated with lights, so enchanting at night too.
A. A.
Service is top notch. Attentive, fast and accomodating. The atmosphere is brilliant on the calm waters. Food is always delicious! Have not been disappointed to date. Love going back!
M. L.
Great service, good food and I love the coffee art!
H.
Wait in the food queue whilst your companion grabs a table. The meal portions were big but the taste was quite average. The coffee was unexpectedly good and the staff were friendly and helpful.
W. T.
Wonderful spot for a relaxing meal on the water. The food was delicious- including scones with jam, strawberries and cream, as well as smashed avocado toast with tomatoes.
M. N.
You cant go wrong, food nice and healthy, the tuna cracker is the bomb all beverage options from healthy drinks to wine, yummy French rose you could drink bottles of beer coffee, amazing. Breathtaking spot and the best part, the film Home n away there so if ur a fan like i am head over and enjoy. Great sopt to just relax and unwind overlooking the water
M. W.
Tasty food in a stunning location. Great stop before or after walking up to the lighthouse. Prices are perhaps a little high for the food itself, but the location and atmosphere certainly merit a premium!
J. P.
Beautiful views! Service and food 7 out of 10. Presentation was beyond beautiful, but some parts of the execution didn't quite meet expectations.
O. F.
One of Sydney's best and must try waterfront cafe's. This is only 1 of 4 venues by the boathouse group and all are amazing.
N. D.
What a lovely lovely cafe! Everything has such a nice touch to it.
The view from the outside deck makes a perfect brekkie spot, and the blankets for customers’ use is a sweet gesture for outdoor winter brekkies.
Oh, and the food was really good too ❤️
P. D.
Beautiful place. We had only icecream here but it was good. There is Paid parking area in front of boathouse which costs $10 per hr.
C. J.
This is a very nice spot on the water. The food there is quite nice, and the juices we had were great. They were very busy on the weekend, and it took a lot of lining up just to make our order. Then finding a table was even more difficult. The prices were also quite steep. Would recommend if you are in the area, but don’t expect your food quickly.
J. D.
Beautiful spot on the water. Lovely decor and friendly staff make this iconic venue a must-visit. Would recommend getting there early on weekends as it fills up quickly with cyclists and sightseers. Coffee is good and the pastries delicious. The banana bread is a bit of a highlight - it’s a mini loaf of goodness so huge by banana bread standards, served with butter and mascarpone.
L. I.
Just love this place. Great food service and location. Fly from Roseville Sydney , swim boat, drive, or walk to get here . Its a very professionally run venue and prices are realistic for its location. Tea and coffee cakes till 4pm. Staff excellent and well trained in their jobs.
Z. F.
Best venue for food and drinks on the Northern Beaches! By far my favorite place :) We had our wedding day here and it was the best day of our lives! Amazing food, beautiful view- and exceptional service! I couldn't recommend the Boathouse Palm Beach highly enough. Xxx
C.
This place is fantastic - great food, fast service and a phenomenal location. Best to arrive early so you can grab a table out the back facing the water. Missing out on the 5 stars for me because the order queue can take up to 15 minutes to get through!
Would recommend the avocado toast, banana bread and the poached eggs 👌🏼
D. V.
There's a huge wait. Even in winter. That's just a fact. But location, views and atmosphere can't be beat and the food is quality.
S. T.
This place is always nice! The food is amazing here, we love the milk shakes here. Nice food with nice view made our day. The only thing is that this place is a bit crowded and noisy.
P. C.
great spot for an awesome breakfast and great views, wife disappointed not to see home and away stars haha
J. E.
Yes it's pricy, but you also get some bang for your buck! The trout board is to die for, phenomenal coffees and just a beautiful setting! Can get really busy on weekends and during summer, but they still handle it well!
J. Z.
Great food and service plus waterfront view
Excellent place for a bite and drink from visiting the light house
But a bit pricy
f. t.
Took a while to line up just to order the food, the food is pretty good but it is a bit pricey. Overall its a nice place to visit if you come up to palm beach.
A.
Great food thats definitely worth the price and great service. Trout board is a must try. Great location right beside the boathouse beach.
C. T.
It was busy but the service was brilliant, the scones to die for and the best iced latte ever. Not to mention sitting watching the water and birds.....very relaxing.
J. F.
Relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Excellent service and views of Pittwater. Food and drinks a little on the high side... but worth it, after all it is Summer Bay!!!!
T. H.
Great spot for lunch on the water but there is always a queue and they don't do table service which is very annoying for such a busy place. The food was good, but came out at different times
B.
Beautiful scenery and delicious food!
M.
Always an amazing experience. Rain, wind or sunshine!! Had the boat house salad with perfectly cooked salmon & chicken (choices), aranchini, chips, plus coffee everything was PERFECT & HUGE serves! Sorry, too busy eating to take photos! Waddled away happy & very full. Thank you
V. H.
Always delightful to visit. Even just for a coffee. A beautiful location to be in with friends
N. G.
Good portion size bit pricey. Nearly $90 for 2x fish and chips, coffee and caramel slice and a wine. Lovely views and great staff
A. S.
Absolutely love this spot on the water. The Hamptons style decor is beautiful and the food is simple but delicious. Try the fish and chips as a treat (the batter is SO crisp) or the grilled Baramundi for a lighter option. Sit out the back on the deck and enjoy the beautiful views.
P. I.
Good food and amazing views, in the recent years price of the food has increase. Since covid their menu has also decreased. The prawns were really yummy and fresh
C. H. (.
Very quick service! Sunday brunch with a beautiful view of the ocean! You need to try their fruit platter 👌
S. N. K.
Chips was good
My Beef tenderloin was not that tender
And They didn’t give me a Steak knife
View is awesome as we all know
A. W.
I may have had the perfect fish and chips today. Flathead done to perfection with chunky chips and sumptuous tartare sauce, all in huge quantities. Fast service, lovely views both water and human. Excellent coffee.
M. B.
It is a realy nice and beautiful place I really enjoyed the decorations and great behaviour of staff. It gave me a good feeling sitting beside palm beach and having meal. However, I think serving should be a bit faster.
R. N.
Food is always enjoyable & good quality, service fast and fuss free and you can't beat this location /view. Saturdays are just SO busy and I found it to be super cramped and loud inside next to the busy kitchen.. you should offer takeaway for meals like fish and chips - I would much rather eat this out on the grass at the beach than inside in the chaos.
J. T.
Food comes out quickly, and service is pretty good. But parking here $10 per hour so be prepared. Good views of the ocean if you manage to score a seat outside on the deck
K. C.
Beautiful views with elegant food. Great to refuel and then hit the beach.
S. P.
We had a fabulous filling brunch and great service as we caught up with friends from the Central Coast who arrived by ferry. The location is one of the icons of the northen beaches area, maybe even Sydney. Blessed with great views and weather this was a wonderful experience.
J. K.
Wow! Great food and service. 5 star well deserved! Thumb up.
S. P.
Awesome place. Friendly hosts. Nice food and nice view
D. L.
My husband and I were there for lunch on Monday and it was our first time. I had grilled barramundi and my husband had beef burger. We really enjoyed what we ordered, the quality of the food and presentation. The view absolutely stunning. The services from the waiters and waitresses were good. The cashier, excellent service from him; he was really lively. The reason I gave 4 stars because the hostess. (The young lady in front took us in for seating.) She didn’t greet us but she greeted two ladies in front of us. She just looked without saying anything then we decided to tell her table for two. ( Maybe because we’re Asian?) We noticed she wasn’t as lively when she greeted other customers. She’s the first person to contact with customers, she should be more lively, enthusiastic and more welcoming.
I. A.
Wonderful cafe in Palm Beach with a modern menu for casual dining. The views are stunning, looking over the entrance to the Hawksberry River.
林.
Nice staff and service
Nice ocean view
Nice food
What a nice day
J. H.
Great food. Good coffee ☕️ Stunning location.
K. C.
Fantastic fish and chips at the boathouse! Service was good and fast.
A. M.
You can't beat the location; food is decent too! Expect long waits on weekends and holidays, but that should almost go without saying.
K. C.
If you are lucky you will nab a table out back and watch the sea plane come and go. We had the pleasure of being looked after by friendly and helpful staff esp. Mary-Anne who is a consumate professional. We ate the pea and avo cracker, wonderful fresh and light. Also the bucket of prawns, they were fresh and served with sour dough, lemon and seafood sauce.
S. M.
Great healthy foods over looking Pittwater or opportunity to sit under the pine trees at the front entrance. Cleanliness and service were not an issue here, recommend to visit.
B. M.
Trendy, busy loud and limited menu. Great views and worth the visit.
A. M.
Beautiful Cafe and restaurant this place is perfect for a day out....
K. K.
Beautiful seaside location, nautical ambience, delicious food and friendly staff. A great pit stop before or after the Barrenjoey walk
N. C. D. G.
Very nice staff and the food is very good. The view is also a big plus.
C. C.
Great breakfast or lunch spot. Menu is great but doesn't really seem to change much. Coffee is excellent and the team is super friendly and helpful. Try and get a seat outside if you can and take in the view.
M. M.
Great salads and oyster! We enjoyed a beautiful meal. The views are unbeliable
S. S.
Amazing vibes, best to arrive early to get a table! I’d recommend the avo toast
K. S.
Fantastic breakfast very good service great views.
M. S.
Gorgeous building and location. Food superb and lovely friendly staff
N. G.
What a delightful place to have a nice lunch. Worth the drive. We did the palm beach lighthouse walk and got a drink here after. Great spot.
F. C.
What a great localation to have a cafe and coffee even better to have a relaxed breakfast with amazing view on to the bay or should l say "Summer Bay" but don't worry if your not a early morning person as the do an all day breakfast and there lunch menu is to die for with the seaplane flying over from time to time if you need to make a quick pop in pop out. if your more a beach person it's a short stroll over the hill and your in paradise
D. M.
Had a great time visiting Palm Beach (Summer Bay-Home & Away) and to our surprise the Home & Away cast and crew were out recording so I had the most fabulous birthday present by seeing some of my favourite actors and actress
V. B.
Beautiful location! The food is presented beautifully! The food is tasty and their coffee is good. More on the pricey side.
M.
Great location with good view to enjoy your limited range of seafood or burgers. Beautiful decor with lovely flowers and succulents.
Service is good and flavour is definitely there, however average with way above average price.
Id suggest getting the coconut drink, not many places serve it thus found it quirky and fun.
NB. Off topic. Not related to the restaurant.
Local Parking fee (kinda ridiculous)
$24 for 3 hrs
$35 for the whole day
S. L.
Location was aesthetically pleasing. Nothing it more enjoyable than having a good portion serving of fish and chips while enjoying a nice cool breeze.
Fish and Chips: $$$, but real delicious and good size
M. T.
Absolutely stunning restaurant in beautiful area of the world. A must visit!
t.
Beautiful food. Stunning views. Beautiful atmosphere. Great service!
A. R.
Is there a better spot in Australia to sit and have breakfast? I doubt it. On a nice day, this spot is amazing.if you can stay in the area for a night or two, it's beautiful. Weekends are busy, so I'd recommend mid week for the relaxed beach holiday vibe.
N. S.
If you're a fan of Home and Away, this is the place to visit. Sometimes you can watch them film a few scenes from this venue. Food is nice, but the view of the harbour is special.
N. M.
Beautiful location, but rather expensive, on top of the $10 an hour parking fee.
J. N.
The view and the atmosphere is 5 star, the potato grantin thingy is amazing but the rest of the food was a dissapointment in comparison to the view. Worth a visit if your a tourist but there are better breakfasts in the area just not with the same view.
L. F.
Even though it was really busy, we didn't have to wait for too long to get our meals. The service was great, and the food was delicious!
R. W.
Food is ok but serving is a bit Small. The place is too packed and hard to find seats.
M. B.
The juice is pretty good.but we ordered the chips and they forgot to cook it ,which is really upset. Anyways, they finally refund it. Really a bad experience!!
m. b.
Great place to have lunch with the kids. Deliciois fish burger and beef burger. Kids fish and chips was a hit. Would definately go back when in the area next. Friendly staff always happy to assist - waiter happily helped lower pram onto seating area on deck.
E. S.
Had breakfast here- it's really nice and the food was great!
N. L.
Friendly staff with decent food
Prices on the expensive side to the type of food and service provided
However you can argue you’re paying for the view
C. M.
Service good. Food are good. Best sour dough I had!
K. W.
Beautiful spot. Friendly staff. Very busy cafe with some great views
D. S.
Beautiful views, very high quality food and nice atmosphere.
Normally packed and somewhat expensive but it's clearly worth it
Jack the waiter was particularly attentive and one of the best servers I've dealt with and was proactive in dealing with delays in the line and issues we had with our order
J. E. P.
The best place to start your day before heading to barrenjoey lighthouse.
A. G.
Delicious food, good coffee, very quick service & great views over the water...plus who can resist that beautiful entry with fresh flowers?!
B. D.
Great food, great location, nice atmosphere, price is a little on the nigh side
R. S.
Very crowded and a bit pricy. Food is average.
M. S.
Incredible experience to be back and smell the fresh air! It wasn't as cold as I expected and love how everything was simply clean and relaxing!
M. G.
Just great food great views.. loved it here
A. G.
Nice food in awesome setting. It has awesome mini cakes.
K. S.
Excellent food and very quick quality service.
Great location and friendly staff too.
Y. Y.
Great staff, great food, great views. A really lovely beachy place!
M. P.
Good food & friendly service. Fabulous views over Pittwater. A great place to spend a lazy afternoon.
E. L.
Delicious breakfast and brunch food at reasonable prices. It can be a bit busy and difficult to get seats but it's worth it!
W. S.
Excellent food, good tasting coffee, friendly staff. Decent price for the location
j. t.
It was very busy day on good Friday
To our surprise even though we have to wait ,the service was good
We order the seafood platter
It was ok,disappointed that the oysters wasn't that fresh
Overall it was a good experince trying their good for the first time. My honest opinion is a positive feedback, lovly venue, presentation was good, service was good and they handle it very well especially it was extremely busy
A. C.
The location, the venue and the food were all epic! The salmon fritters is a winner.
P. J.
Brilliant service, excellent ambiance, great menu. Boys arrived on Jet ski, wearing not much, their Bodies not worth look at. Dress code please. Maybe at least a top and shorts for a family, couples restaurant.
L. (.
We had a delicious lunch last sunday.
Beautiful venue with a nice view, friendly staff and amazing John Dory burger.
Highly recommended if you are around Palm beach.
Thank you

Overrated. All Boathouses are in premium locations with outstanding water views, shops are well decorated, however, the food is pretty average specially considering the prices: top dollar. No table service. Depending on the time of the day you’ll stand on a long line every time you want something. This, to me, ruins the experience a bit. Order at the counter system is suitable for pubs. In places like the boathouse you want to be served and enjoy the views.
R. P.
Great spot to have your wedding reception! The team here did a great job for our wedding, very attentive and accommodating to our requests. It is a small and very basic venue but the food and drink is great quality and the views ans setting are the best; sunset photos to beat all sunset photos.
W. C.
Fabulous waterfront location with great decor. Always busy and never cheap but definitely a great place to go. We recently had the seafood platter and as with all the meals it was good but huge. The staff were happy for us to take home the left overs so it wasn't wasted. A great experience.
A. H.
Overall a nice experience - great setting and service from everyone we spoke to. Food options are quite simple. I recommend the bacon and egg roll and muffins.
The queue to order food is quite long, but food is served pretty quickly after ordering.
Public parking right outside is expensive; it might be cheaper on the street.
N. C.
Good food in buzzing place. The view was fantastic and my wife really enjoyed the seafood platter. Fish and chips was average. Hard to find seats during lunchtime rush hour.
K. G.
The boathouse group cannot take a step wrong no matter which venue. This was their first venture and is still as good as ever. Staff are exceptional ..must be very well trained in their culture.
B. L.
Great food, locations band service. An absolute must
b.
The boat hire attached to this cafe was great. Friendly helpful staff. The boat was well equipped and very clean. Thank you
D. 1. P.
These guys saved the day. we went out for a days boating and fishing and forgot the sunscreen. Bad mistake to make. We simply poppede onto the jetty and ran up to the Boathouse rent area and they sold us some sunscreen... woo hoo.. well done guys.
J. R. Z.
Lovely place with great views. The staff are awesome and the food is just as good.
O. T.
We went there on the 1 of jan and it wss close so i dont have a reviuw of the food, but the viuw is amazing!
J. M.
Delicious food amazing location casual and friendly.
G. S.
Great place to go. Very responsible staff cleaning tables and enforcing social distancing.
Food is great and so is the service. Pity the council slug you to park there. $24 for 3 hours is disgusting.
D. S.
A pleasant cafe/restaurant in a good location, but massively overpriced for what you get. You line up to order. You serve your own water. We had to ask the waitress to clean the table. A lot of the tables are wobbly, and they don't have any proper wedges to stabilise them - only the old serviette technique. There are no pillows to comfort your back against the hard wooden bench. The staff are friendly, but overall, a bit of an average experience. There are many great water views on the north side that are better value.
J. W.
Fantastic restaurant, great views and excellent food. I'm very impressed with the service every time I visit, very friendly and helpful. See you guys again soon
P. v. B.
I just spent how much?! Look it’s expensive to eat here but you don’t head to Palm Beach to save money. Now that’s out of the way I can tell you that it’s a lovely spot to hang out and while away some summer time. It’s all a little chaotic with the big crowds and need to order at a window and then source your own table so if you’re in a rush or have young and hungry kids you may not make it. But if you’re in the chilled zone then the beer battered fish will be a lovely trip down memory lane.
T. B.
Excellent venue to host a group birthday or group get together. Friendly for all ages and offers a picturesque sunset. Truly a nautical favourite to find some down time at on weekends.
A hidden gem. Worth the drive, or a day out. Fresh seafood, lovely white wines.
M. D.
Perfect atmosphere, nice food and good service. For the price the service could be improved, the food quality and presentation is top notch. The surroundings are absolutely stunning.
Prepare your wallet though, the parking spot will cost you $8/hr and The Boat house does not offer free parking for customers.
B. B.
Good food and selection of drinks, at the jetty where you can ride on the seaplane, great view and atmosphere, we has fish and chips which was battered Flathead, delicious, will go back again for a special occasion or just punch or dinner with friends.
F. H.
We booked our wedding location at The Boathouse in Palm Beach and from the beginning (first meetings and the reception) we felt very welcome and relaxed because of the great team of the Boathouse and of course because of the quite and beautiful location. On our wedding night we experienced professional service, very tasty food and even extra wishes like fries for the kids were not a problem at all. All the decoration like lanterns and flowers looked so amazing, we were very happy to celebrate our wedding at the Boathouse and can highly recommend it!
h. (.
breakfast was Great. it gets well crowded here best thing is to visit when its not peak hour
D. S.
Amazing place to sit and watch dinner filming for Home And Away. The whole reason for going there.
C. M.
Good food, relaxed vibe, superb views.
J. O.
We had the best day at Boat house Palm Beach today. We had a bottle of Processco, shared the seafood platter. AMAZING. So much food, great, yummy food, could not finish it. Had a great table with the best view. All in all. THE BEST LUNCH. Thank you.
W. O.
I absolutely like this place, love the place and the vibe for this area. We ordered latte and a cake. Latte was ok but the lemon cake was over priced $6! for a size no larger than a golf ball and the taste was not worth for the value. Apart from this, it's worth coming here to get away from the city, you have spectacular views and fresh air. Come early because this cafe closes around 4pm.
M. I.
Great place to get a coffee of an afternoon drink or snack. The patio in the back has great water views. It might be hard to get a seat during the weekend but the wait it worth it. A quick tip is that there is a separate line for drinks so if you are only getting that the service will be very quick even on a busy Sunday.
L. F.
Super nice atmosphere and very friendly staff - brunch is great here !
J.
perfect
morning..perfect coffee..perfect way to start the day
P. B.
Great food and setting, gets very busy so come early. In spite of being a regular I struggle with paying $30 ++ per person and having to line up to order, line up for a table and if I happen to want an extra coffee, it's back to the line ! But still a lovely place
K. L.
This place is well worth the drive from Sydney. No bookings so can get busy but the seafood is always high quality and staff very friendly. With Palm Beach as the backdrop plenty for the family.
The tuna cracker is a wonderful collection of spices with tuna, chilli and edible flowers is so fresh and light, the trout pate and smoked wonderfully rich without being too oily, oysters buttery and fish and chips for the kids very popular with the grownups too. A walk along the beach afterwards completes a perfect lunch away from the city
L. D.
Prepare yourself for an hour wait and a hunt for a table! We went to the Boathouse on a Sunday so I can't advise regarding how busy it is other days but it was certainly a bit of a fight for a seat. Tip: One person needs to stay in the line waiting to order whilst another searches for a free table. We had the beer battered flathead, green salad with Salmon and the kids burger meal. Food arrive surprisingly quick and was overall great! The portions of everything is quite large which is awesome so make sure you go hungry! View from the back area is quite amazing so try and aim for a seat there.
J. R.
After a long day in the water the best thing about this cafe/restaurant is that you can pull into shore and boom it’s right there on the water. I’d recommend the king prawns, snapper, oysters and chips and a bottle of sparkling + a coffee before eating is a must! I’d recommend booking if it’s possible because it does get packed inside and out the back. But there is always seats at the front.
T. L.
Incredibly fresh food, attentive and kind staff. The outdoor seating section has a beautiful view on the water terrace. Gets very busy on the weekends, and boiling hot if you sit outside... but the food and drinks are worth the heat (if you visit in the summer)! Located next to the sea plane terminal building, but I’ve never actually seen one of those planes parked anywhere.
Overall great vibes. Good place to bring out of town family to.
P. B.
Great place and scenery but honestly average and overpriced food...will still go here if I ever go back to Palm Beach tho coz not really much choices there
C. R.
Nice view but only stopped for water. Lunch service had finished.
B. M.
I went there for my birthday 2 months ago. The food was so delicious especially the chips. The hot chocolate is so yummy. The service was excellent. If you go to Palm Beach you have to eat here it's the best.
R. E.
Nice food- the menu is very overpriced but I guess you expect that for the location.
Both hubby and I ordered croissant French toast with Marscapone and berries. Was a nice breakfast but was advertised “with berries”. However, we both received only 3 small blueberries per plate which was very disappointing for around $17 per meal. This left is dissapointed. If we had got some nice berries on the side we would have left a lot happier.
Coffee is average.
View is great.
a. A.
Beautiful location, but super limited selection of food, and the staff weren't so friendly 🤷♀️
B. I.
Lovely setting and views Lunch was excellent: try the burger or the trout platter. Breakfast was only OK. See photo. The eggs were overdone and a whole sour tasting tomato is a little too rustic for mine
M. N.
Stunning location, perfect spot to grab some food and then enjoy the day at Palm Beach.
The food here is fresh and tasty, but can be quite expensive. Their fish and chips is a must try and if you like raw fish, the kingfish ceviche will definitely hit the spot.
C. M.
Lovely Brunch place to go with my puppy!
R. T.
Palm beach is great for its beaches but also great for the Boathouse. This is a clean, very well run restaurant that you can be sure you’ll get a good meal from. Although it can get really busy, as long as you pick the right time, you’ll get your food fast. Would definitely recommend for breakfast over lunch to avoid any crowds. Great experience every time.
n. c.
Just returned home to inner Sydney after an exceptional lunch at The Boathouse, Palm Beach. Fabulous location and excellent food but what made the real difference was the staff. They were knowledgeable, enthusiastic, helpful and extremely gracious. Thank you.
G. C.
Great casual dining. Very good service from happy friendly staff.
N. W.
Fab location, worth a visit for that alone. But with some tasty oysters, raw tuna and king prawns around, who can resist?
B. B.
Great foods with impressive service.
Thanks!
J.
Location is spectacular if you get a table looking over the water! The food is overpriced though, and whilst the fish and chips ($30) are large and iconic it’s mostly a bowl of chips. Could be modified with a side salad and less chips to make a much nicer meal. The service is ok but you have to line up to order.
D. B.
Food is good, when it's full, it seems pretty chaotic the way crowd is managed and having the menu only be located on a board next to where the line is just congests the area too much. Would recommend to come, its a lovely place.
J. H.
Amazing ambience and view. Open quite early so ideal spot for breakfast after a surf. Food has high standards. Very welcoming staff.
B. S.
Great staff and you can't beat the location, right on the water it can't get better than that. The food is deliciously fresh and so tasty! Great for families and brunch with your friends, gets busy so come early or be prepared to wait for a space.
R. A.
The most AMAZING place I have been. WONDERFUL PEOPLE, NICE SERVICE ,
Very GOOD FOOD, AMAZING ENVIRONMENT.
5 Stars it is not enough for the place.
I'd to add one more extra star.
A. S.
This is definitely a destination spot for locals and/or tourist. Beautiful layout with flowers and produce everywhere. No table service but it just works here, ordering at the counter. Food is super expensive. I prefer the breakfast menu over the lunch and suggest ordering a few plates to share as the serving sixes are generous. Enjoy the view why you eat and buy a bunch of flowers on your way out.
S. B.
This place is paradise. What an awesome place to have breakfast or lunch. Plenty of options on the menu, even healthy stuff. Great friendly service, but get there early as it gets super busy.
G. K.
Great location, fresh food and generous portions. You definitely get what you pay for.
Very high demand for seats by the waterfront and a long line to order, but definitely worth it
J. F.
Ordered the fish and chips and the fish pie, both of which were not bad....but certainly were not worth what we paid.
The fish pie looked fantastic, and had a really delicious couple of slices of bread on the side, but the pie was watery and the fish rubbery... :-(
The fish and chips were not bad.... Looked good...but the batter was not crisp...
The view was great however, and the service was great. If the price was more reasonable I might come back...
S. P.
The views are simply unforgettable. Go for lunch when the sun is out and the sky is blue and sitting on the deck overlooking Pittwater there is simply no better place to be in Sydney.
If you are lucky you will see a seaplane land/take off in front off you, taking lucky passengers to and from the harbour.
And the food is great quality. Nice selection of wines and beers.
A. Y.
Attended a wedding there and it was amazing! Staff were great, food was delicious, views are awsome. Such a great venue!! One bad thing is there is only 1 toilet per gender so everyone was lining up for the toilets. But other than that highly recommend this place 😀 will be back for lunch ☺
M. D.
Great place, very busy. The only complaint was our poached eggs where overcooked and meal was a bit cold. Would be nice to be able to have a meal at the Boat House Shop down the road as it used to be a great spot for a meal in the past (we ended up buying a nice large woven basket), service was great there as well.
D. s.
Delicious food and a great place to catch your lunch before a hike to the light house or swim at the beach or even to just hang out with friends and family.. Great customer service and dog friendly too..Smoked salmon is a must try here !!
N. S.
A memorable place for a coffee and a slice of banana cake. I caught the ferry over from Ettalong with a couple of my girlfriends, and we all agreed that the Boathouse made the trip worth it!
K. S.
Bit pricey, but I guess you're paying for the view as well as the food. Love the food, service is a bit slow but you'd expect that from such a busy place. Scones with jam and cream are always a must :)
J. G.
Stopped in for lunch on the way up to the light house. Got there just about noon and snagged a table just before the place got slammed. You order at the window and seat yourself. I had the fish and chips... Which was amazing! The fish breading was crisp and fluffy. And the Fries!!!! Huge with delicious crispy exterior and yet so tender inside. I'd good portion sizes and everyone really enjoyed their meals.
A. L.
Very very busy. Fresh ingredients. Cosy environment.
C. G.
The food is very delicious, but also rather pricey, however the meals are so big they can easily be shared. I loved the beer battered fish'n chips, which were one of the best fish'n chips I have ever had.
The location is absolutely marvellous and the decoration with flowers and fresh fruits very charming. Unfortunately, we had to wait over 45 min until we could finally order our food and had to stand in line for that whole time! So don't go there if you are in a hurry.
L. M.
Nice spot & nice staff but had the weirdest meal. A salad of kale & beetroot etc piled so high it would feed three people. On top of it the saltiest piece of grilled salmon. So intense I couldnt get it down easily. No idea wehy so salty unless it was marinated in brine....thats what it tasted like! Shame really as I had higher hopes.
S. H.
Great food and although they were behind today with Australia Day lunch they made sure they made up for it which doesn't happen with most restaurants in Sydney.
J. P.
Quick and friendly service even though they were super busy! Coffee was good and the fish and chips was amazing. Really big portions so unless you have a massive appetite just get 1 between 2.
B. C.
Great location, excellent food, large servings, helpful staff. Though a little expensive it is well worth a visit. What a surprise - even got to meet cast and crew of Home and Away doing a film shoot at Boat House - an unplanned bonus - such a scenic environment.
Y. J. K.
Great views and ambience, bit of a challenge to find a table and it can be an ordeal to order, i was lucky to get there just before the lunch rush, but I could see the queue and the constant searching for tables. Overall good food and well presented, if a little over priced. Would recommend if you get there early.
W. F. E.
Breakfast sausage sandwich and tasty bacon & egg roll
Palm beach is beautiful. It's a bit of a drive but the serene peace and natural beauty is definitely worth it. Breakfast at the Boat House was on a beautiful summer's day. The views were magnificent so it was no wonder there was a mass of people. A very busy cafe that was a bit of a drive away. Worth it though.
Y. M. L.
Tasty food - had fish and chips and summer salad. Best chips, crispy quality fish. Salad was also delicious. Fantastic location and views. A bit more costly than your local fish and chip shop, but you are paying for the views.
A. L.
Went all the way there to have some brunch with my boyfriend. I've always liked Boathouse, been to the one at Shirley Beach, the food is always great and delicious.
The only issue I have and I think a lot of people would definitely agree with me is that we have to find a place to sit by ourselves. The restaurant is not responsible to sit its clients like all other restaurants do which I never really got the idea. I really wish and sincerely hope this policy will change because it's soooo difficult to sit down and we look so stupid and awkward when we do that. Please please please change that policy, I'm sure people are happy to wait when other sits become available.
J. v. R.
Amazing setting and views, yet the waiting time was a bit annoying. Wish they had a bit more space & allowed for bookings to be made!
Also appreciate how they change the menu every so often, allows for variety.
P. C.
Great location and food was good. Spoilt by a mix up in our order. A little more attention to detail would not have gone astray.
N. P.
Limited menu for vegetarian's. Cute venue but not a fan of how you have to fight for your seat as if this is a pub.. However you're paying more than $40 dollars per person to have a meal + plus a drink, then have to find a seat at a dirty table. Either have more staff on to keep the place tidy or properly have people seated and offer table service which would create a less confusing and much better ambiance.
R. H.
Amazing location, and very tasty food, but it's very expensive for fish and chips and you need to line up for quite a while and then try and battle for a seat. If you can sit out by the water it's well worth it but more often than not I end up by the car park in the shade with a cold breeze.
G. K.
We tried the grilled barramundi and Salad with smoked salmon. Both were really nice. Food is good, but the place is so busy and the is a long queue to order. Make sure you plan and try to get there atleast 45 mins before your usual lunch time, as it takes a while in the queue to reach the counter to place your order. Next you will have to scout for a table, and then wait another 30-40 mins for the food. It's a good cafe which is super busy thanks to Home and Away, but will I go through the long queue and wait again? Maybe not
A. S.
Nice place, nice food but unreasonably expensive😔
L. R.
Attented a wedding reception here two weeks ago. Absolutely stunning location, beautiful place with fabulous views. Very friendly staff, lovely food. First class venue!
G. N. E.
It's better to go in the morning, otherwise, the sun will be burning through your skin on a sunny day and you'd want to go on a sunny day because it'll be more beautiful! As for the food, the menu is a bit limit but their chips are amazing and we also enjoyed the salad, we didn't like the bucket of prawns so next time I'll go back to the faltheads.
B. M.
Wonderful spot to enjoy breakfast and definitely worth the drive. The Boathouse is clearly a popular spot and although you have to order at the register and deal with the Sydney-centric self-service table number routine, the coffee is good and the breakfast options are enjoyable. It's also nice to cut through and walk back along the beach. Great spot and will be back in the future!
A. N.
Food was tasty, great location with beautiful view. However, the place was super busy, the order queue was so long. It took me more than half an hour to order food and 15 minutes to find a seat. But it was worth a visit.
E. D.
Wow! My friend and I just loved everything about The Boathouse. The location is perfection. We spent the afternoon watching seaplanes drop off and pick up travellers from the wharf located at the back of The Boathouse. We arrived after lunch when the kitchen had stopped serving so we just got coffee, tea, milkshakes and cakes. The vanilla and caramel cake was delicious. On the way out we picked up some huge bunches of flowers which were really well priced. We have definitely put The Boathouse on our list to come back and visit for breakfast or lunch.
C. S.
Can be quite a drive to get to, especially coming from inner Sydney but so worth it.
Beautiful location but do try to get there early to avoid crowds and a long wait for food. Good food but slightly pricy. Lots of lovely beaches nearby to stroll nearby.
Great place for an afternoon date.
J. L. H.
Let’s be real, everyone only comes for the views which are stunning!
Coffee and service itself are not great but okay, presentation of food is good, taste of food is mediocre.
We still love coming up here as it is a nice little getaway on any given day.
A.
Food and staff are great. Although prices are a bit steep, and the only parking available close to it is paid parking. Would go elsewhere to Palm Beach Fish and Chips as it is cheaper, unless you want to have the nice water views.
K. A.
The boathouse in Palm Beach is very popular and for a good reason. It's the location. Great views if you get a seat on the sea side decking. One queues to rder food and drinks but we only had to guess for 15 mons at 1.e0 so can't complain. The lunch menu is on a board but one can see this via their Web page. But the difference is that the food is locally produced and freshly cooked. No microwave here.
Overall the boathouse retains its popularity because it retains its high standards. So we'll done. Came last year also and a few slight improvements but again highly recommended.
There are car parking facilities all around the area so ko problem.
The walk up to the light house via the new path is good with the walk back down via the stairs all very comfortable. And our trip started with coffee in the boathouse then the walk and back for a great trout platter for lunch.
K. R.
Great food, good service and lovely spot. Pricey but you can't beat the location. Walk on the beach or up to the lighthouse or around to see the seals to burn off the calories after lunch!
D. K. M.
This is one of the beach from northern beaches. I visited on Sunday morning and it took around 2 hours from Chatswood to reach here. It's so pristine. It was so amazing out there. You need to walk a little after getting down from the bus. Must visit place. You can enjoy the beach or take a walk to Barrenjoey lighthouse whose starting point is from this beach.
J. T.
Easier to keep your table since social distancing has been implemented however still no table service. Lovely outdoor setting.
E. B.
The food is a bit pricey, but let's be real - you aren't driving all the way up to Palm Beach for the food. About an hour and half North of Sydney, the beach here is 5x as nice, 10x less crowded and 100% worth the drive. And the Boat House is all part of the experience.
Depending on the weather - you'll most likely have to wait in a queue. Take that time to read through the menu, but order one of the following:
- The Fish n Chips ($26): This is what I ordered. The fish was fresh and the chips were thick, salty and delicious.
- The Bucket of Prawns ($36): Expensive, but it really is a BUCKET of prawns. A pretty generous serving - and super fresh.
- The Burger ($22): Haven't tried it, but have heard from numerous sources that it is the bomb.
Don't order - the Milkshakes (look delish, but apparently aren't that great).
If there are 2 or more of you in your party. Have one person stand in line and order while someone else stakes out a prime location on the deck.
J. V.
Went here on my day trip to palm beach and the scenery and atmosphere of the cafe was unbeatable. It over looks the water and you can see the boats on the dock. The bacon and egg roll was very delicious and they also make coffee art with an anchor. This place is so adorable. A must visit if you are going to Palm beach.
N. G.
Great spot for brunch
S. S.
Great Location. Fantastic view if you lucky enough to get a table with a view, reasonable food and good coffee, would come again and recommend
C. G.
Well the menu said barramundi
So I expected a whole fish at $29
It didn’t say a thin sliced frozen tasteless slice of barramundi
Service , view , ambience and salad were great and obviously what I paid for
Just prefer that they told me that please say barramundi FILLET on your blackboard menu!
S. R.
My friends and I visited The Boathouse on Sunday. After receiving incorrect change and menu items we were very displeased. Shortly after we grabbed the attention of a young girl we would like to specifically mention, Mia whom immediately sat down with us, despite the line out the door she took the time to ensure that all 5 of us had the correct change and meals that we ordered. She was an Angel and very professional. If it weren’t for her we wouldn’t of returned to Palm Beach in the future. Thankyou Mia.
M. W.
I just don't see what people get so excited about. Yeah, it's a lovely location, the food isn't bad, but on all occasions I've been, the experience is just so so. I expect more from a group of cafes/restaurants that supposed to be 'good'.
J. R.
There was abit of a delay with our order but it didn't go unnoticed and the bloke at the front was nice enough to offer us a drink also best fish and chips ever!
A. P.
Didn't get to eat there today although the food and the view were amazing both, but a staff member (a young girl) was so kind as to offer us sunscreen as we were passing through. Saved us a week of agony from sunburns
J. E.
Great spot for brunch or lunch, picturesque setting along the Pittwater. If you're there during the week, you might catch the crews filming scenes for Home and Away. Food is good, beverage selection is good, parking is easy (ticket paid if you don't have a Northern Beaches Council pass). The only downside is the crowds, especially on weekends.
B. H.
Great location to take visitors/tourists. Go early, be patient and please park legally, and stand in the queue. It's a touch on the pricy side (fish and chips $29 compared to $13 at the Palm Beach shops (Pittwater side)). Coffee is good, cakes/muffins tasty, salads excellent.
A. K.
Wonderful sea view from the dining area. They also have a outdoor seating area. The music was nice and soothing. Great place to hang around with friends and family.
A. R.
An all-round excellent experience but be prepared to wait if it is busy (hipsters and old folk), and the prices are a little steep. The fish and chips were incredible; the fish succulent, the chips perfectly crispy, and the tartar sauce sublime. The squid salad was so-so, and the chilli-calamari tasty but a bit soggy (have to eat it quickly). I wouldn't advise having a milkshake which was weak - syrup and froth, no ice cream. The location is serene with commanding views that peer out onto the calm water where the seaplanes take off. And you can walk off lunch by stomping up to the lighthouse nearby!
D. F.
My very favourite place on the Northern Beaches for Breakfast, coffee or lunch or to have your wedding reception if your lucky 😘 we recently had our reception at the Boathouse Palm Beach and it was amazing! We and our guests couldn't praise the service highly enough! Love, love, love 😍😍 The new Mr & Mrs Fox

Good for a 1 day trip from Sydney
J. M.
Awesome seafood plater for two. Really filled us up.
S. P.
Location is fantastic. Food is expensive but the location makes it worth it. Also the wine is pretty good :)
M. N.
Stunning location, perfect spot to grab some food and then enjoy the day at Palm Beach. …
J. J.
Relaxing atmosphere, good service and the food was great.
M. W.
I just don't see what people get so excited about. Yeah, it's a lovely location, the food isn't bad, but on all occasions I've been, the experience is just so so. I expect more from a group of cafes/restaurants that supposed to be 'good'.

Lovely outdoor area n delish cakes for morning tea
H. F.
Attended for a work function. Food and service was outstanding.
D. B.
Lovely place, but we came at 3.01 and had some people in front of us who have not still decided on the food but were told they'll be served. We were ready to order, but were told that the lunch is finished. Not very nice.
S. O.
We selected very simple items for breakfast. They came out quickly despite being busy, and they were delicious! The toast with avo and tomato was wonderful, the muffin was moist and full of apple and raspberries, and the coffees were very good. Wish we lived closer, but if/when we decide to visit from Redfern again, we won't hesitate to come here.
S. E.
This place is an institution in Palm Beach. Set right on the beach it definitely is the right choice for a sunny waterfront lunch in a relaxed atmosphere. Interior is very pretty and well designed with fresh flower arrangements, fruit and rustic water taps everywhere. Outside you can choose between the waterfront deck overlooking the Pittwater and the seaplanes taking off or out in the front in the garden under the shady trees. The menu is casual yet elegant, from the famous fish and chips to steak sandwich to fresh and modern salads. It can get very busy here and that you have to line up at the counter to order doesn't quite help but once you are settled it is a wonderful place to spend the lunch hour or to have breakfast or brunch. A top place that is highly frequented by locals and very popular with tourists.
S. M.
Great setting nice place to sit and relax with seafood and a beer
P. F.
Great location and views over Pittwater. Licenced with great food at reasonable prices. No bookings, so if you want a table with a great view it's a good idea to get there about 11.45 as lunch is served from 12 noon. The beer battered fish & chips are excellent and a substantial lunch.
P. X.
Come before it gets busy. Great coffee
S. C.
Just came here for a breakfast, and I need to say that it's a wonderful place! I enjoyed the fruit plate which provide a lot of different fresh and exotic products. The view and the design are lovely. I will come back for sure
W. H.
Had to queue but it was well worth it. Great food and coffee.
P. T.
Do you like nice waterfront views? Do you like paying $9 for hot chips? What about paying Pittwater council $16 for parking? Do you drive Go Get because you pay $9 for chips and can't afford a car? Do you have a man bun? Do you hate table service and prefer to queue for 30 minutes just to order? Do you also enjoy queuing to use the single occupancy toilet? Do I have the place for you...

The best fish and chips is New South Wales. The location is an ideal lunch stop for home and away fans and those who just love incredible beaches well worth an explore and is an hour away on the bus from the city.

Great food but ordering and seating are a shambles. Massive line to order right past people trying to eat and not enough seats for what I would think was a pretty standard Saturday lunch session. Exact same situation at the Balmoral location unfortunately.
D. C.
Such a perfect place for breakfast or lunch. Just be sure to get down early because they fill up fast and dont take reservations... Great to also see where Home and Away is filmed
M. A.
Lovely spot for a casual late breakfast!!

We ent on a Sunday afternoon. The queue to order was out the door and took 30 min just to place our order - it could hardly have been any less efficient. We had to fight everyone else to find a seat. We spent the next 40 min watching clueless young staff stumble around looking for where to deliver food - they would much rather have been surfing. Ours finally arrived and it looked great - unfortunately it didn't taste as it should have. The boathouse salad was bland and the chicken overly charred. The fried calamari was over salted and soggy. The banana bread desert was terrific though.
This place could and should easily be excellent across the board - unfortunately it's not.

Great setting, staff were amazing throughout the wedding

Amazing place, great service and very accommodating, food is fantastic quality and the palm Beach Boathouse is the best out of all of them. Can be tricky to get a seat at times. Favourite breakfast spot
F. K.
Nice place coffee was a bit weak the fish and chips looked like a decent serve
C. H.
The food was delicious. Smoked salmon fritters, delicious. Unfortunately the service wasn't too friendly, asking for things looked like we were annoying them.

Always good to find cyclist friendly cafés and this is certainly one of them. Occasionally a coffee rest stop when out cycling.
Staff are friendly and welcoming, allowed us to leave our bikes at the side building, whilst we sat with our coffees at the end of the jetty enjoying some winter sun.
Only ever had coffee here, which was nice, although been severely tempted by the cakes on offer, which look delicious.

Unfortunately this place trades on its location. Food was just OK. Also you have to line up to pay for food and drinks. We wanted another drink but gave up as it took 20 mins just to get our food order in. Also high chairs are old and rickety and a bit dangerous for younger babies
F. F.
Wonderful location and beautifully designed breakfast/lunch spot in Palm Beach. The queue on weekends is insane though. Also, the food is overpriced.
T. L.
What a beautiful relaxing place with friendly staff and great views.
My order was totally mucked up - and I cannot explain why or how - but the staff quickly fixed things and with being friendly and apologetic. I’d definitely go back next time I’m in Palm Beach. Thank you.

Walked in at around 1:20pm and the place was PACKED!
"Aaaw my gaaawd" where my thoughts when I saw the line, but being very hungry decided to give it a go.
The line progressed fast and the food comming from the pass looked delicious.
Found a table in the sun outside and waited for the food, which was not long at all considering the amount of people having ordered before me.
The oysters were excellent and the fish and chips couldn't be better. Also the Market fish was delicious.
Don't be put off if there is some wait, because it's worth it!

A club at the shore having its Wharf and boat garage. Fine place for members. Private parties are booked. Bar and dine. Having variety of food. Location is very attractive. On the other side of main palm Beach location but this is also a Beach on other side of land strip having both sides as beaches and one end is Rock Hill and other end main land.

It doesn't matter who I come here with, we always have a lovely time, and enjoy great food and beverages.
S. T.
The fish and chips is a must try. One of the best in Sydney, serve in unique bamboo steamer. Fresh chips. Gotta try the fresh cooked prawn. They are so tasty and fresh.
The restaurant it self is one of the kind and can be a romantic wedding venue. Try go at sunset time.. it will take your breath away
M. T.
Fantastic spot on the beach, beautiful views fantastic salad and beer battered flathead, yummy caramel slice an banana bread. Lovely, warm staff make you feel welcome and catered to, Highly recommend.
A. K.
Decent service, but crazy busy. Also overpriced for sure. But anywhere in Palm Beach will be a bit on the expensive side, and the Boat House isn't a bad place to support, the food is pretty good.
M. B.
Atmosphere is awesome but don't expect the food to be as good as the view. The veggie bowl is tasy but the eggs and avo on toast just had no flavour. Coffee was great.
D. H.
Lovely place to eat, fish and chips quality😁😁😁
N. W.
A great little cafe with the option of indoor and outdoor seating. The cakes are to die for. Very friendly staff who don't have any issues with cyclists turning up for a half way coffee stop. Keep a look out for Alf Stewart !!
W. Y.
An institution for both local and city escapees. This place is rammed during the festive session and weekends. Orders are taken at the counter after joining the snaking queue. Then the "fun" begins by finding an available table. For group sittings, I would suggest the divide and conquer method.

The boathouse brings back so many memories. I hadn't been back for 30 years and it felt like yesterday when we visited this past January.
Can't wait to get back when we move back to my second home for good. 12/2020
T. A.
Good food, excellent location
J. R.
We had a fabulous trip in the sea plane views to die for. Wonderful
M. R.
Location & food great. System of getting a table terrible. Its like that game musical chairs without the music (the one when the music stops you run for a seat but there is never enough so someone misses out)
s. s.
What a charming and very well funded coffee house. The boat house is a local fixture and one is greeted with a warm friendly smile. Sundays could not be better than brecky on the deck overlooking pittwater
A. T.
If you have a bit of time to kill and don't mind the wait for a table...and food, then head out to the boathouse.
It can be a bit crazy during the summer exodus at Palmy but it really is worth the wait. The menu is fab and the staff are friendly, even though they were being slammed when we visited in January.
S. F.
Nice spot for a coffee or hot chocolate and brunch. Near HOME AND AWAY beach location, SUMMER BAY.
My daughter loves this area. I flew her in from New Zealand just for two days to spend at her favorite TV Series location.
T. R.
The best Boat House (and the original). Service today was friendly and engaging, the food was fresh, plentiful and outstanding. The view helps too.
S. G.
One of my favourite brunch spots on the northern beaches! The servings are hugeee and delicious. Get the milkshakes (served in vintage milk bottles) and the BLT. If you're feeling especially hungry, you can't go wrong with the burger and wedges. It's got a fantastic beach-chic feel and an even better view over pittwater to watch the seaplane take-off and land. Make sure you take a hat on sunny day because outside shade is limited!
I. L.
B&E roll was brilliant, helpful staff despite difficult circumstances (town water was offline!)
X. L.
Going there for shortly traveling.
No comment for food
$8/H car parking which is ridiculous expensive in that area. (40Km far away from CBD) Northern Beaches council should not grab civilians money like a robber.
L. W.
What beautiful amazing staff . My friends Wedding Reception we had at this beautiful location. Food was fabulous. The staff just incredible x
G. M.
Great location and food. Good portions. Can get very busy! Queues too long, hard to find a place or wait awkwardly next to someone who is about to leave...
M. T.
Really nice place to visit. Gets very crowded, so go early. Toilet situation is a problem, with single loos that normally have a queue. Best to walk to the public toilet block if you need to go quickly.
P. G.
Best fish and chips ever! Expansive tho .. But the place is just perfect. The staff is friendly (they accepted us after the closing time 3.15pm instead of 3pm).
You can even around around the bay.
S. E.
Favourite cafe in Palm Beach with Potato Tosti to die for (available for breakfast only) or chips and aoili (available for lunch), best chips in town 🤤
T. S.
Very tasty fish and chips with a lovely tartare sauce. Tried 2 of their local pale ales which were very tasty. It's definitely on the pricey side, but worth it
C. L.
My kids were so excited to see all of it was amazing and we got to meet Robbo meet greet ask questions take photos signature, great big thanks to Flamin Galah tours ,official home and away tour and the bus driver now's his stuff ask him anything
J. D.
The food was good and the portions were big. The service was great and the location is very pretty!
B. K.
Great view while you eat, nice service and the food is great. Everything is priced well. And afterwards you can take a walk to the lighthouse.
S. P.
Summer Bay diner ❤ such tasty food
P.
Lovely place by the water for breakfast or lunch. Beautiful seating area out the back. Had the hotcakes and was delicious.
T. F.
Great breakfast menu. Be prepared for the busy atmosphere, and it gets busier with their entrance path being in the food pass and drinks pass area...watch your back, you will get in the way. Friendly staff and good food
C. C.
Nice coffee served with a smile
C. H.
Lovely location, reasonably secluded and almost feels like a holiday island restaurant. Good quality food, ordered and paid for at the counter. Can get busy.
D. C.
Delicious food. Awesome staff. Stunning views. Eat, drink and enjoy the friendly chats with friends and holiday makers.
C. W.
Great cafe on the water. Has room to lean some bicycles against the railings, if you are cycling up there! Bacon and egg roll was tasty.
T. T.
High recommended! Good view, nice place. staffs are friendly. Food is yummy, but the meal selection is limited
P. O.
This is an idyllic location for breakfast or lunch...the view is incredible, the coffee even better...the only setback is the $10 per hour parking fee that the local council charges you.
F. S. A.
Great food, great service, great staff. Kitchen is a spectacle onto itself and the team is on point. Get ready for a long wait if they're full
D. S.
Very busy and for good reason. Awesome location and not many decent options around. Food is nice. Not mind blowing but hits the spot.
N. P.
Great fries and chill place
F. P.
Great spot for lunch or coffee. The deck area is definitely recommended. Usually very busy, but for worth the wait for getting a table.
M. P.
Good location and food, but also it's quite expensive and there are alot of Karen's causing issues for staff. Solid place.
S. P.
Location is fantastic. Food is expensive but the location makes it worth it. Also the wine is pretty good :)
J. D.
Really delish food, really attractive plant🪴🌿🌻filled ambience in a fabulous location!👍👍
R. G.
Must try the delicious turmeric latte at the Boathouse. Super healthy with Natural Anti-Inflammatory compounds. And to top it off the honey served with the turmeric latte just completes this hot beverage.
J. R.
Delicious food and good coffee. Downside is long wait times and no table reservations
M. A.
Lovely cafe with superb views.
Great food, juice and coffee.
Only 1 toilet which means there can be queue.
C. W.
Extremely slow service. Waited 60min for two fish & chips take away... Then they gave me 2 free deserts for my trouble. The fish and chips was really nice!
O. S.
One of my favourite places in the northern beaches! Food is really good and views are amazing! If u re lucky you can even see a sea plane land just in front!
H. H.
Excellent quality and service. Decent portions, kids recommended the milkshakes and chips! Fab view even in drizzly rain.
W. B.
Food is great, great location and super wait staff!
D. G.
Try To get a seat outside, really cool setting, good food it’s just long wait times which I didn’t love ... I’ve been before covid too and it was the same - long waits
S. P.
Absolutely love this spot on the water. The Hamptons style decor is beautiful and the food is simple but delicious.
S. W.
Busy on a Sunday, but always a nice place for breakfast
J. F.
Great spot... gets busy so get in early
K. J.
Great food was overpriced for what it is. We ordered and sat at a table and the food came as soon as we sat down. Very nice atmosphere and polite staff.
J. H.
Amazing food, great staff -the wait is not too good but that's expected at such a popular place
Z. M.
Excellent in every way except one: Enjoying drink here as the sun goes down would be utterly perfect. Except you can't. It's not open in the evening except for private functions.
H.
Excellent food. Nice views from the jetty. The coffee is also decent if you just want to pass through
G.
The food was pricey but the service and staff, for the most part, were cheerful. They forgot my order, but we were offered a little cake for the trouble. Food was delicious.
S. G.
An hangover Sunday morning isn't the best time to go out for brunch... And despite this, I'd return for their amazing boards stuffed with delish food, hot teas and warm blankets outside.
R. A.
Lovely little Bar/Restaurant. Worth the visit if you're up this way. It's a pity the Council charges so much for parking, but that's nothing to do with this place.
A. E.
This is an amazing place at palm beach. It has great breakfast options. The view from this place is great. The staff is really friendly. Really recommed this place if you visit palm beach.
S. S.
Really insta-worthy for those interested lol.
Great selection of food and drinks. I remember that we tried absolutely delicious smoothies and fruit juices on a hot day and it was the best!
J. B.
Awesome
B. T.
Really lovely spot for lunch before or after the walk up to the lighthouse. Amazing location and great food
R. T.
Great venue and great food. Gets VERY busy on weekends in summer. Get there early if going for lunch
R. A.
Good food therefore crowded. They don't take reservations. Recommended one person grab a table while the other stays inline to order
J. H.
Seemed like a great place food looked amazing. But it was very crowded so we didn't hang around
B. C.
Very friendly n warm staff. Poached eggs cooked perfectly. If you get a good spot amazing way to start the day
J. P. P.
Very expensive seafood restaurant, did not eat there due to cost of food (e.g. scones $14) very noisy, very popular, "HOME & AWAY" tv show setting, indoor & outdoor seating if you can find a spare table, by the ocean, jetty running off it.
S. W.
Great place. Clean, efficient, friendly and looking smart.
Just had a coffee and fries. Coffee was super.
R. G.
great seating area with water view, food and service is good
